This light it really good, throws off great light. I would give it 5 stars but there are a few little problems: It uses a lot of batteries, they seem to last a long time though, it interfears with a grill cover. I have a fitted cover for the grill and this gets in the way, so you need to take it on and off each time you use it.

Other than that, great product

I purchased this for my husband this Christmas. Last night he attached it to the handle and we grilled a steak. He loved it. The light is easy to attach to the handle of the grill and it spreads the light evenly. He really was very pleased. Good purchase!

Didn't do much good while it lasted, not bright enough.

After 48 hours, the plastic cap for the battery compartment cracked beyond repair, rendering the unit completely non-functional.

Our first exposure to this grill was on a boat. Salt water is a tough enviornment on anything metal, but this Kenyon grill is built of stainless steel and held up to not only Mother Nature but the pounding of waves that a boat endures. After two years, it still looks new. So we ordered a grill for the house. Frankly, I was tired of cleaning our big gas grill that was more about show than actual use. Cleaning is so easy. The lid and cooking grate go right into the dishwasher. As for effectiveness, the burner and grate are creatively engineered to nest securely and spread the heat evenly. In five minutes or less you are ready to grill at whatever temperature you desire. And get this, the pan beneath the heating element can be filled with water to mitigate any smoke, so we cook indoors as well. We've added apple juice to the pan to add flavor to pork chops. Last Christmas I bought my wife the griddle option and she now makes a pizza like flat bread and other snacks when we are entertaining and don't want a big meal.

It works really well, but I don't understand why it is so expensive. I purchased a second unit and had it installed on my 56-foot boat. This electrical stove avoids the need for a second fuel on the boat and eliminates the hazards of propane, a real benefit in a confined space.

Moving to a condo necessitated some changes. Having to move to an electric grill from a gas almost was a deal breaker on buying a condo. The grill is expensive but I believe it is worth the price. I grill out at least 2 times a week. I also went to an electric from a wood smoker. I have cooked hamburgers, steak, wings, marinated chicken, and a middled eastern marinated chicken recipe with yogurt etc.

The hamburgers are just as good as the gas grill. The steak not quite as good but decent. Wings were just as good and even more tender. My marinated chicken recipe was just as good and also more tender. The middle eastern recipe was good but not as crisp on the outside as I would have liked. Instructions say to cook with cover down. I enjoy grill cooking with a spatula in one hand and a beer in the other. Thats why I like to keep the cover open if I can. The hamburger, steak, and wings I cook with the cover open. The marinated chicken recipes I cook with the cover closed. Make sure you have the proper amount of water in the aluminum pan. I (operator error) cooked one night and the next night just assumed I had water in the pan. It must have evaporated when I cooked the night before and I had a mini-bonfire. It is a great grill and I would recommend it despite the cost to anyone who is into grilling and cannot have a gas or charcoal grill.

Honest reviews on Kenyon B70082 Floridian All Seasons Portable Stainless Steel

I love using this grill! It sears meat perfectly and gives you that great, grilled flavor without the smoke and mess. The non-stick grill is also great because you don't have to worry about food sticking when you try to flip it. And it's easy to clean. The best part is there is no smoke, so I can grill indoors all year round.

My wife and I have an all electric motorhome, meaning no propane on board. Consequently I didn't really want to introduce propane into our equation and charcoal is too messy for everyday use when traveling so we researched electric grills and came up with the Kenyon. We've had it for about 4 months now and use it almost everyday when the weather is good enough to cook outdoors. It does everything and does it well. The grill heats quickly and evenly and we do everything from steaks to eggs on it with great success. I would highly recommend this grill and even though it's quite expensive, this is, in our minds, a clear case of getting what you pay for. The one negative I have is that the grill will shut down after being on for awhile and sometimes then needs to cool down before you can turn it back on. Otherwise this is a 5-star product all the way.

So you want to cook with gas but get the flavor of charcoal? Using a smoke box like this is the ticket. Load it with wood chips and or charcoal pellets and smoke while you grill. The particular smoke box works really well because of the tubular design. It fits under the grill in-between flame guards. The handle is a nice touch although I never use it as I leave mine under the grill therefore inaccessible until cooled down anyway.

Load the Smokerin up, place it to one side on higher heat. Put your meat on the other side under low flame and get BBQ flavor with the convenience of gas.

It's ok. I mean, it's still a total mess to use wood chips even inside this thing, but I guess it keeps everything contained. It's never as pretty as when you first open the box. After the first use, it looks like a mis-placed muffler.

So you spend 45 dollars of hard earned money to purchase what looks like one of the best in grill smokers available on amazon. In the end, a 3 cent piece of aluminum foil placed on the grill surface appears to do just as good a job, or better. Now maybe it needs to be placed below the grill grate, but it doesn't say that in the instructions. It does however come with flexible metal straps so it can be positioned below the grill grate, but then it is nearly impossible to add chips on a hot grill. Mostly I was disappointed with the lack of smoke produced and the lack of flavor added to my food. The foil worked better!! Save your money

I bought the Landmann 3405GLA gas smoker, it came very fast and was in good condition except for 2 very minor scratches that I did not even mention to the seller. It lets alot of smoke out around the doors so I bought a felt gasket for the big green egg and used it to seal around the door, which worked great. I had to bend 1 of the vent tabs up so I could close it more. Also, the original gas control knob/regulator worked terribly. It was either open full or at minimum, nothing in between. The thermometer was off by 30 degrees(all of the stock thermometers seem to be inaccurate). I sent an email to Landmann, their customer service people were very nice, polite and helpful. After trying a few things they sent me a new thermometer and control knob/regulator. The new one is a different model so I'm wondering if they've had problems and changed vendors. It seems to work better but have not tried to smoke anything with the new regulator yet. I may also try the trick of using a turkey frier control to automatically control the temperature. Also, I put lava rocks in the bottom and a slab of slate in back of the smoker to add some thermal mass for even cooking.

Advice to other buyers would be to go for the single door model, the drawers are not an advantage and let more smoke leak out. I'd give the manufacturer a 4 star rating for the way they treated me, but until I can see if the new parts make it easier to control the tempurature I gave only 3 stars. Will update after trying out the new parts.

Update: The new regulator/control knob works smoothly and has improved the tempature control. I increased the rating to 4 stars, but this is based on the price of $180. The unit does not compare to a $600-800 digital control models but for $180 I would give it 4 stars within this price point.

I am pleased with this smoker for the price. It's easy to use and cooks meat well. The only criticism I have is the small wood pan. It needs to be refilled often and whenever it's filled the temp climbs way up of course so maintaining a constant temp is difficult.

The world of Smoking was opened to me with this inexpensive and functional smoker. I have tried fish, cornish game hens, ribs, and lots else. I even dry my fire wood in this guy. The temperature needs monitoring since the water bath and wood chips cause slight swings; but with a six pack and a book life is wonderful.

I was an ecstatic owner of the earlier version of the stainless steel Smoky Mountain smoker and loved it. Unfortunately due to a design flaw that allowed water to accumulate in the bottom of the smoker, it eventually rusted out and was rendered useless. Rather than be able to buy the bottom piece, that is listed as a replaceable part, I had to buy a new smoker. I literally had these two smokers side-by-side to be able to make accurate comparisons. The "new" version is NOT everything the older model is or was. The new smokers is made of thin, flimsy sheet metal which means horrible insulation and uses considerably more propane to cook the same items as the older model. The flimsy drawers are terrible and the water pan is extremely small (much smaller than the old bowl) which means the water completely evaporates while cooking for even a couple hours. When the water evaporates, the temperature you were dialed into will increase substantially and rapidly completely changing the cooking environment you thought you had dialed in.

If I didn't know better, I would say some venture capital group came in a bought the old company out and realized they could "cut" costs at just about every turn (including packaging) and even raise the price of the old (very well-made/high quality)smoker and laugh all the way to the bank. This item is one that once you receive it, assemble it and then realize what a piece of junk you have, you can't imagine how you could even send it back.

I am a long time, accomplished smoker and know of what I speak here! The fact that this company took a really great product and did this to it is exactly why companies go out of business. My guess is they realize that their decisions to down-grade the quality of this smoker to such a huge degree will ultimately result in this product's (and company's) demise.

Hopefully this happens sooner rather than later so fewer people are bilked out of their hard earned money.

If you buy this, be prepared to get exactly what I have described. This smoker is functional but just not at all worth the money and you will be stuck with a large, black metal albatross in your back yard!

Honest reviews on Smoky Mountain Vertical Gas Smoker

This smoker was the best price of all smokers I was saving. My husband has been dying for one, so for his 30th birthday, I shelled out. We've made GREAT salmon, ribs, chicken, and a pretty decent pork shoulder. (My husband made brisket, which tasted like it should, but I'm just not a fan.) This smoker functions like it should, and can cook a decent amount of goods.

First off, walmart has this $50 cheaper, If you happen to have one close by your house to ship to and pick up.

Easy to put together; screw driver and a ratchet set helps to make thing quiker etc. I seasoned it and had it ready to give it test on a Sunday morning.

I did a Pork Butt and two slabs of ribs. First off the smoker box that it comes with, is way too small, with my wood chips having been soaked in water for over an hour, it will only hold enough chips to smoke for about 40 minutes. So i went out and got picked up a 12" pie pan, that worked like a charm, now im smoking for about 2 hours before another round of wood chips.

2nd i was losing way too much smoke through the door, so i used thermo heat resistant tape to seal the door. Its a hassle but it does the job.

3rd all the drippings end up up outside the smoker on the ground. I should have seen this coming, i will continue to use it however this need to sit out in the dirt. I have to deal with patio stains now.

4th heat control was okay, it was a cool mid 50's cloudy and drizzly day outside, i was able to maintain at 225f just below the Medium setting on burner setting.

So how did my BBQ Pull Pork and BBQ Ribs come out? Very impressed, I've been smoking with charcoal barrel style smoker before tending to the charcoal. This was a lot less labor intensive did not have one bit Propane or chemical taste, the end consensus based on my family and neighbors over Sunday night football? "I can ditch the barrel style smoker"

No gas ignition and that's all right by me.

How many realize this without reviewing in detail the difference between this Performer and the one selling for $50 more? So, if it wasn't obvious to you before when you happened to look at this model please allow me to point that out. And, that's the only difference all other parts and functions are the same.

This is my second Weber Performer; the first was the original, all metal model, which I finally decided to replace after many years of service and countless grillings.

Why not opt for the gas ignition? I've been using a chimney charcoal starter for many years since the gas ignition feature on my original Performer wore out and decided to just save $50 with this one.

The 22.5" Weber Kettle is the best charcoal grill for the money available today. It's simple to use and very versatile. It's big enough to have different cooking zones. Charcoal uses radiant heat to cook and direct grilling allows for extremely high heat to sear steaks and burgers. The grill's style also allows you to cook with indirect heat for chicken, ribs and other foods needing lower heat and longer time to cook just right. Of course, charcoal gives all your food a superior taste over a gas grill.

The Performer just makes the Kettle so much better with a work table surface area, integrated tilt out charcoal storage bin, large storage rack beneath and it rolls / moves easier than a standard Kettle.

Some useful tips if you buy the Performer:

* Buy a Weber rotisserie insert for this grill. Weber doesn't recommend it for the Performer, but it fits fine and you will be amazed at how great the rotisserie element works! For those of you wondering why Weber won't recommend the rotisserie, it's because you cannot stow the kettle's lid on the side of the Performer with the rotisserie unit is in place. That's ok. Inconvenient? A little, but no biggie.

* For grilling, I switched to the cast iron insert by Crayton a little over a year ago. Fantastic! They are relatively expensive, but once you've tried them you'll wonder why you didn't switch earlier.

I ordered this model because I like charcoal grills. The 4 wheels and stability are much better than tripod models for moving. I also liked the table and charcoal holder. The ash bucket takes a little practice to get off. I would recommend this model.

It was a toss up for me between this grill and the Weber Platinum bc I wanted an attached table. I really didn't care much for the propane starter option, bc I actually enjoy lighting my coals with my Chimney starter, and I don't have to worry about running out of or purchasing propane either. The only thing that I missed out on was having the option of getting a blue grill like I wanted, instead of the traditional black. But, this is a great grill. It is so much better than the Platinum model bc of the storage space underneath, the charcoal bin, and the table is better too IMO... It arrived in 2 days, Amazon is great, but when I took it out of the box, it had a scratch on it. I called Weber, they asked me to email a picture, and once I did my replacement part was on my doorstep a couple of days later... Weber's customer service is the best I've ever experienced with any company period... Kudo's!!!

With this smoker I have smoked tuna, salmon, and various cheeses with excellent results. Co-workers always ask me,when are you gonna bring us some more salmon OR ask if I buy some salmon can you smoke it for me and my family and bring it to work. I have also BBQ`d chicken, ribeye steaks, hot dogs, shrimp skewers, squash, ribs, and pork chops. Yes,the Brinkman smoker is the best smoker I have ever used but its also a great BBQ`er. I like this Brinkman smoker so much,I have two. I can do 2 racks of salmon at once by stacking one rack over or under the other by pre cutting 3 S shaped hooks made from a metal clothes hanger OR putting 3 empty tuna cans on the bottom rack and placing the 2nd rack on top of the other rack.

Upon receipt of our new Masterbuilt Nfusion grill, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was about 70 percent pre-assembled. Only the side shelves/side burner needed to be attached, along with a few internal cabinet attachments. Unfortunately, there were (2) screws stripped in the burner area, and (1) missing cabinet screw. I was able to repair the stripped holes, and I had a matching stainless steel screw to replace the missing one, but I had to take 1 star off for the fault... now on to performance.

I have used the grill twice since receiving it, and it is working exactly as expected. The searing station gives a perfect sear, and cooking time is nearly half of our old, non-infrared gas grill. I did some pork steaks, about 3/4 inch thick, in 8 minutes total cooking time, to an internal temperature of 145-150 degrees F., and they were perfect, tender and juicy. On Christmas day, I grilled some 1-1/4 inch T-bone steaks, searing each side twice for a total 8 minute sear, and finished on the indirect side for an additional 8 minutes under hickory smoke from the smoker box… once again, perfectly cooked to 130-135 degrees internal, good char on the outside, and still a blush of pink in the middle.

I think we will like this grill…

I love my BDS, I was not to keen on getting the Jim Beam model, cause I am not a Bouban man but at $75 less than the standerd BDS I will peel off the Decal! I have a great deal of experience with electric, charcoal and real wood trailer type smokers. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. I have read quite a few "horror stories" about not holding temp. taking forever to smoke/cook meat, bad manufacturing, etc. I personally have not experienced any of these problems. Mine holds the temp. in an "average" desired area. You can apply as little or as much smoke to your food as you want (awesome)and you can actually go about your business throughout your day or even do larger cuts overnight if you want too without having to start/add more charcoal or split/throw wood in the fire box. Does it take 8-10 hours to smoke a brisket or whole pork shoulder? Yeah it does, its not a micro-wave welcome to the world of Low and Slow BBQ cooking. Is it the perfect "smoking unit"? No absolutely not, does it produce hands off, worry free smoked food in a timely/convinient/efficient manner? I think it does and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is an awesome smoker! I've done several briskets, turkey breats, chickens, pork butts and they have all turned out great! My only suggestion would be to also buy a good digital meat thermometer so you can keep track of the internal temp of the meat you're smoking.

Honest reviews on Jim Beam BTDS76JB Bradley Smoker 4-Rack Digital Outdoor Smoker

Like the others I was wondering would I get a fully working unit, or some issue that preventing me from using my new toy right out of the box. The first clue I was in trouble was after unpacking the very well packed box I heard a small screw rattling in the smoke generator. I turned the generator from side to side and out fell a small screw.... uh oh.. never a good sign.

So on to assembly it all went well, cables... check, loader...check... insert shelves and bowl...check. Ok power up the unit and it starts spitting out Biscuits like it pamphlets on the strip in Vegas. Uh oh.. I am guessing the lose screw on the ground holds a clue. So I look up Error code E now flashing on the display as it dumps the entire stack of 20 Biscuits in less than 2 minutes. The Bradley website support section says check the micro switch. Ok great, now I get to disassemble a new unit to troubleshoot what should have been thoroughly tested before it left the factory. Oh well, when given lemons make lemonade. Upon inspection I found that the motor actuator arm (arm the pushes the Biscuits out) was not making contact with the micro switch when it passed by it. Granted it was within 1/32 of an inch but was not pressing it. The micro switch is screwed in pre drilled and tapped screw holes so its clearly not adjustable. I was then thinking maybe the switch was missing a part so I flipped the unit over to get a better look and thats when I discovered the real source of the problem. The motor itself is mounted to a bracket and one side of the motor (the left side when looking down on the motor) was fine, the right side was missing a screw. Humm I picked up the one that fell out onto the floor and what do you know ;) Yep, a perfect fit, mystery solved. So I alighed up the holes and a few turns of the screwdriver later and one inserted screw now holds the motor in alignment. I carefully power up the unit and it rotates, engages the micro switch and cuts off the motor as designed. Perfect! Now just for fun I added some thread locker to these screws just in case some vibration caused them to work lose in shipping, etc.

Now I put the unit back together and fire it all up and perfect. Now on to the actual break in period.

The manual says to set the temp to 150 and adjust as necessary to keep the oven temp apx 150degrees. Here is where the complaints come in from 99% of the users on this unit (the unit swings wildly +/20-30 degrees). Sure enough setting the unit to 150 had the actual oven temp up to 170 in less than 10 minutes. What was more bizzare was if I then set the oven down to 140 degrees (and you could hear a click as the main heating element turned off) was the temp as displayed on the digital readout never got below 160 even with the door completely open). Next I took out a digital thermometer we use at the office (calibrated by the national bureau of standards) and put the probe in the center of the oven. The temp reading on it after 5 minutes was within 3 degrees of the readout on the smoker display. So apparently the smoke generators 135 watt heating element (needed to cause the Biscuits to smoke) generators so much heat that the oven will not go below 150 as required by the initial "seasoning" break in period.

I was concerned that the unit will not get hot enough (based on some reviews) or cool to quickly when I open the door. My thoughts now are that will not be an issue.

Overall the unit looks great, its a bit pricey but given the fact you can save $75 to get the branded Jim Beam unit (and easily peel off the sticker if you so desire) you can't complain. This unit will take all the guess work off temp settings that are a nightmare on charcoal units, offers consistent smoke quantity and quality. The only design change I would recommend (as others have stated) is they need to move the digital controls to the top of the unit or make a wireless remote controller as unless you want to practically lay on the ground to set it the controller is all but useless at the given location. I think with feedback they will move this on future designs and install multiple temperature sensors (maybe one upper, one lower and one you can put in the meat you are smoking).

I have hear some users are working on a wireless integration that will allow you to fully program an add on unit that will give you unlimited programming options using a laptop or desktop computer. Man you have to love technology!

The unit does offer some basic programming (like how long to cook and what temperature) but lacks additional functionality like a pre-programmed warm up period (like most ovens designed in the last 10 years have), there is no way to automate a warm up period for the smoker either. You have to either warm it up and then insert the Biscuits, or lose a Biscuit or two as they get ejected on a 20 minute automated cycle timer (sort of a sorry you are going to be ejected into the bowl depleted of all your smoke capacity or not).

With all these short comings and design flaws (or should I say design oversights) few would give up their units for anything else on the market today.

In short, BUY ONE. I can't imagine a better purchase for the money. At less than $350 its hard to get a decent manual charcoal smoker, much less a set it and forget it automated smoker. Folks this is about as good as it gets for perfection in this market segment/price.

I will smoke some ribs this weekend and update this review, until then "Keep on Smoking".

Best smoker for the money, but don't expect to cold smoke unless it's cold out (30F or lower) or you build / buy an attachment that gets the smoke generator out of the smoking cabinet. The attachment is available from the company for a $100 up-charge. A bit disappointing considering the advertising claims. The wood is a bit expensive, but not too bad.
