I love my Stainless Gas Grill V-Shape Smoker Box. The V-shape allows the box to sit on, or in between the diffusion plates above the burners and allows the box to heat up fast and start smoking without needing to turn up the flame so high that it burns your food. It is made of an excellent grade of stainless steel and does not corrode or discolor even after many uses. The V-shaped box has a hinged stainless steel lid with holes that provides just enough air to prevent the chips from catching fire, but allows the smoke to get out. Like all smoke boxes, the wood chips should be wetted first.

I purchased this product and was very happy with the straight-forward assembly instructions and finished product. I have owned Char-broil products in the past and have always been grateful for their customer service when it comes to replacing missing or malfunctioning parts. As for the use of the product, this grill has a significantly larger total cooking area that other similar models, so I was able to cook for many people quite easily. The many gauges are easily adjustable, to get the perfect temperature whether I am grilling chicken, beef or fish. The extra rack keeps extra food warm while I am still grilling, making for a great presentation and meal. Overall I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a larger charcoal grill at a great price. I've found that Char-broil customer service is helpful in replacing missing or broken parts, usually at no cost.

First off, let me say that I have owned two of these that I have purchased from WalMart. I like the brand and the huge barrel for smoking and slow cooking meats. What I am very disappointed about is that the box arrived without the thermostat and the thermostat lock. We searched and searched through all of the containers. Very Frustrating because now it's all put together and has a big hole in the front. I'm not going to take it all apart and re-box it and ship it back! I guess I will have a friend make a metal plate to put over the hole. Unhappy.

Purchased a BBQTek grill 2 years ago, parts are completely corroding and falling apart (terribly company! terrible materials!). BBQTek parts are 5x the cost of these and made from paper thin metal. These burners feel solid, look good, and I expect them to last.

I did need to modify my grill a bit to fit these in by drilling new mounting holes. Not a big deal. Good universal burners at the perfect size. Thanks!

It took a little work but I was able to remove the old rusted burners and also purchaced the Stainless Steel Heat Plate for BBQ Grillware. Now I have even heat and better tasting meat. I was thinking about buying a totally new BBQ, it took about 30 minutes and these products totally refurbished my old Kenmore grill.

Purchased this item a little over a month ago. The steel on this product is very thin. After using the grill 10 times the grates have warped. Now it is outside the return window have have a piece of junk to deal with and still will have to buy more grates. The stamped steel that these are made from is so light weight that they began sagging within a month of use. After less than five months they have caved to the point that they are touching the heat shields. I am ordering cast iron replacements.

I've used this cover on my barbecue for 13 months now and it still looks brand new. It is very heavy duty, completely covers the barbecue with room to spare yet its length is just above the ground. I've never had a better made cover. Another nice feature is the fact they've sewn two vinyl straps on the top to make lifting the heavier cover off the barbecue easier. This is a lightweight, relatively compact (for car camping, not for hardcore backpack camping) grill. It does the job, though if your fire pit is too narrow for the legs to spread all the way, it's difficult to get the top to sit evenly over the fire. Still, glad we purchased; much nicer to cook food on your own (clean) grill than on a dirty, crusty grate provided by the state park.

For years I battled with lighter fluid and other charcoal lighting techniques. While ultimately all other techniques worked, this device takes all of the effort out of lighting charcoal. Plus, you only get that great charcoal flavor... no bad lighter fluid taste.

All you have to do is bury this little guy in between a mound of coals and in about 10 minutes your good to go. Wind doesn't affect the heating process like it would using a traditional match/lighter fluid method. So simple!

My only wish is that the power chord were a little longer. But that is easy to overcome with an extension chord.

I was skeptical about the electric charcoal starters. I don't like starter fluid and it is windy here a lot so a paper starter can be dangerous. I have used this device for several months numerous times, even in very heavy winds. It works perfect everytime. I just pile up the coals on top. Plug it in for 14 minutes (with an outdoor extension chord) cut the power add and arrange charcoal. Give the charcoal about 10 more minutes to heat properly and that it is it. Perfect coals every time.

Update: I was looking through my old reviews and just wanted to let everyone know I will have used this two years in Aug with no issues. It still works perfect and we BBQ all the time.

The charcoal starter I replaced had a 27 inch cord; this one has a twelve inch cord, necessitating use of an extension It does not seem to heat the charcoal as thoroughly at its predecessor, either. I'm not particularly satisfied with it.

I have used it a few times and it does a very effective job at lighting coals without having to use kerosene. I would highly recommend this for people that like using natural wood or natural charcoal to avoid the chemical residue.

Other reviews say it burns out after awhile. I have only used it five times. When and if it burns out I'll update this review. In my experience usually when tools like this burn out it's because of misuse. You don't want to let electric items that use a lot of power run for too long or put them under too much stress. Get the fire started and then pull it out right away.

It's probably that I just need to pay better attention, but there are only 6 planks (all the same size) in the pack. I duped myself by believing the picture.

Other than that, I really liked these planks. It's hard to find anything but cedar where I live, so the different flavors were very nice. (And if you've never cooked with wood planks before, don't believe you can only cook salmon on them. They add a great flavor to whatever you're grilling. Visit a local bookstore and look through a plank cooking cookbook for different ideas.)

The description says that each plank is approx. 6 x 12 x 1. The actual size is 5 1/2 x 12. The thicknesses ranged from 5/16 to 7/16. Will not try them for a few weeks but wanted to get this info in there. Other than that, they look OK. Made in USA.

Most of the grilling planks available locally are cedar. Personally, I think grilling with cedar imparts a flavor similar to chewing on a pencil. I use the cedar plank in this assortment to scent linen cupboards and the dirty clothes hamper. I use the different species planks here to grill steaks and really enjoy these flavors. Each plank is big enough for two decent size steaks. After each use I really just wipe off the big chunks. No washing, and just store the used plank inside the closed grill. I figure the next grilling session will kill any germs. I get about 4-5 uses from each plank with no ill-effects to report. Of course the container to soak a used plank in is washed well afterward. As a wood worker, some of these planks are nice enough if you wanted a small amount for a project.

I use planks on my charcoal weber.

Good size 12"x5.5", but a little on the thick side.

Needs to be soaked (both sides) for at least four hours.
