Reviews of Saffire Charcoal Grill-Smoker
Unit is well built with all stainless hardware. It is easy to use with excellent temp control. I have cooked between 250 600 degrees. One caution, shipping container is under designed for such a heavy unit. Mine arrived in a destroyed container, but unit was undamaged.

Reviews of Stansport Propane Appliance to Bulk Tank Hose
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $15.65
Today's Bonus: 22% Off

This hose comes with dust caps on both ends. Both ends of the hose can be tightened by hand, so no tools are needed. It connects a bulk propane tank to an accessory that would normally use a disposable propane tank, like a small heater or grill. It appears to be made very well and works as advertised. It performed perfectly when I used it last weekend on a camping trip.

This hose is much higher quality than the Coleman model. It has true crimped fittings on the ends, like a high pressure hydraulic hose, the Coleman has a ring more like a hose clamp found on automotive heater hoses. Also the price was lower for this hose. In my opinion this is a better buy!Best Deals for Stansport Propane Appliance to Bulk Tank Hose

This product didn't make it a full year of use. The plastic threads completely cracked. The hose is unusable now.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Stansport Propane Appliance to Bulk Tank Hose
Mine lasted for a couple of uses. The plastic coupling cracked and the threads on the other end got buggered up. They are not stripped, just looks like they got his by something and messed up. The product works great, just not durable at all. Treat it very gently and will probably last forever.Friday, September 26, 2014
Char-Broil Universal Fit 22" Bar Burner Review
My grill sits outside all year, so I seem to go through a burner element once a year or so. Even if it looks to be in reasonable shape, I have found that replacing it results in more even and better heating.
The hardest part about changing out burners is the inevitable grill clean-up project that it turns into. Removing the old burner is never a problem, and putting in the new one takes about 30 seconds. This unit comes with standoffs for raising the burner above the bottom of the grill, and clips for securing the propane lines. You will immediately know if your installation requires either of these.
Don't worry about the propane connection-the burner lines slip into the propane feeds underneath the grill-no tools, sealers, tightening or expertise required...a five-year-old could do it.
Amazon seems cheaper than the big box retailers by a couple bucks, and always seems to have them in stock, especially during grill tune-up season in late Spring. While you are at it, consider buying a new drip vaporizer bar. Char-Broil 4986272 3-Piece Universal Vaporizer Bar
The only downside-this burner is made out of fairly light steel, as is every other one I have ever seen for sale. Just means you are going to be buying one again next year.

I only gave 3 stars because in the middle of the left burner theres a hot spot where more gas comes out and cooks food much faster. Is there any thing I can do to help this problem.Best Deals for Char-Broil Universal Fit 22" Bar Burner
I was sent a grill burner that was opened and taped closed, and was missing a part. Luckly I was able to salvage that part from my old burner. I guess they're right when they say "you get what you pay for".Honest reviews on Char-Broil Universal Fit 22" Bar Burner

When our grill needed a replacement (usually every 2 yrs or so) I bought locally for over $30. Then I found this on Amazon. Bought this one for almost half & didn't have to drive to town to get it! I have a backup now. It was EXACTLY the same one I had bought locally for almost twice the price. The product itself works well and holds up even though we grill alot. When I have to install this one, I'll order another for backup. We live in a rural area and going to town can be time consuming & expensive.Thursday, September 18, 2014

I've owned this smoker for 3 years and have been very happy. I've cooked ribs, brisket, picnic shoulder, boston butt, and salmon and they all have come out fantastic. Using the Bradley is very simple. I've tried smoking the traditional way but for the occasional weekend smoker keeping the heat low and slow is nearly impossible; the constant monitoring of heat and fuel for 6-12 hours took out all the joy of eating. Bradley is the way to go!
Besides making sure there were enough "pucks" of wood, you have to check the water pan to make sure it doesn't go dry. If you're smoking something fatty like a boston butt, I would recommend tossing out the oil and ash that drips into the pan after 3 hours or so and add more water. Other than that it's set and forget.
We don't have a much of a selection of wood where I live (mesquite is king) so it's great how easy it is get different woods to try and mix them like the pros do. It's not expensive to run, Bradley recommends that you only need to smoke the food for only half the total time it takes to cook your food, so if it takes 12 hours to finish, you only need 6 hours worth of pucks.
The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because it doesn't get hotter than about 250 degrees. If it had a more powerful heating element it would have greater versatility and you could cook perfect chicken with crispy skin, or use it during colder outdoor temperatures.
Side note: Just as important as the smoker is the rub and sauce. The best cookbook for BBQ I've found is Peace, Love, & Barbecue: Recipes, Secrets, Tall Tales, and Outright Lies from the Legends of Barbecue. It gives you the REAL award winning recipes, not the common "based on" recipes from some well-known BBQ pros. In addition, there are valuable hints on prepping and cooking that most other books don't give and a great guide that will help you develop your own signature rub.
I bought this smoker in July (five months ago). On the fifth use, it inexplicably overheated, melting the door seal. There was no fire that time. Bradley sent out a replacement door seal, saying that I must have kept the vent closed, but they'd help me this time. I hadn't kept the vent closed, and said I was concerned it was a defective unit and a fire hazard. They continued to assert it must have been a closed vent. I crossed my fingers I had just not noticed my error.
It took me nearly 2 hours to replace the door seal, a dirty job that made me swear to myself I'd maintain the smoker perfectly so there would be no potential of user error going forward. Every single time I removed every single removable part and steel wool clean it. I wiped down the sides each time, and removed any obvious grease.
Five smokes later and my wife looks out the window just in time the whole thing was ON FIRE. I unplug it, douse it with water, and finish the turkey breast (not a greasy pork roast mind you, a turkey breast) in the oven.
I call them up, assuming the fire was proof I had a defective unit that would be quickly replaced. I figure, hey, they had a record of the first incident, so it shouldn't be much of a fuss. Ahem no.
After a week of chasing, I finally got to talk to Brian, who is in charge of "fire incidents." I explained the situation, the previous problem, my exact experience and use of it, and he said it's because of user error that I hadn't cleaned the smoker thoroughly enough, and too much grease is why it caught fire. Then he offered me a "deep discount" that he didn't actually reveal.
I tried to engage him in simple logic. If you're saying this unit, that has caught fire, is NOT DEFECTIVE, and I'm saying that I've used this as responsibly as possible, what you are saying is either A) I am lying to you about how I maintained the product or B) that this product carries a very reasonable risk of a fire starting through normal customer use.
Brian didn't really want to say "A" but he essentially did when he refused to acknowledge the possibility of a defective unit. He said the chances of a defect were "slim to zero," explaining to me about how the components are each inspected before assembly. When I raised the possibility that it had been improperly assembled or perhaps my unit was otherwise defective, he basically said no. When I noted that I noticed others on Amazon were also having this issue, he literally laughed and said every product on Amazon has negative reviews from a few people.
This was pretty insulting given the time that I had invested and my earnest belief that I had used this product right and it was a defective unit. But at that point I realized that any company that would rather insult a customer than acknowledge the possibility that they could make a manufacturing error was not worth a minute more of my time other than helping assure other people aren't in my exact situation.
I wish I had taken others' warnings seriously and not written them off as being posted by careless people who didn't bother taking care of the unit properly.
You need to know that this product has the potential to catch fire, even if you use it very responsibly and even if you are as careful as I was. I'm not some random Internet troll I'm a regular suburban father who wouldn't bother posting this review if the product just stopped working.
It's a dangerous product, and even more dangerous that Bradley isn't taking the recent swell of customer fire reports seriously.
We tried the Bradley smoker this weekend while we had the unusually warm weather. It comes with pellets of wood which get fed in automatically; much easier. The prime rib was done in no time at all; we finished it off in the oven for a crispier outside. We also smoked fresh kielbasa. Both were amazing. Can't wait to try the cold smoke feature!
I have a barrel smoker I have used for a few years and I needed to get something to make my life a little easier so I could smoke over night and not have to get up every hour to add wood.
The Bradley Smoker 4 Rack is an awesome tool backed up by an awesome company. I have had mine for about a year now. I have smoked, ribs, brisket, pork butts, and cold smoked cheese. I have chicken wings, pork belly, and other meats lined up for the rest of this summer.
I do not suggest the digital smoker as it resets itself every 10 hours or so and requires you to unplug and restart. The Original Bradley Smoker has a sliding knob at the bottom that is used to control the heat. Normally you start out at max and leave it there for a while. After a time you will need to move it over an inch to set the temp.
Yes you do need to buy special briskets from Bradley but they are on sale here at Amazon and else where most of the time. I purchased one box of each flavor and have not needed to resupply in months and I do a lot of smoking.
Check out BradleySmoker.com and their forum and see for yourself. Great Product, Great Company! There is also a 6 rack/shelf unit out there and some come wrapped in stainless steel for a nice look!
The one and only downside to this smoker, it does not produce a smoke ring. There is NOTHING missing from the flavor but there is no smoke ring. My solution to that is starting meats in my barrel smoker for a couple hours then moving it to the Bradley Smoker for an overnight cooking!
The Bradley Electric Smoker started out okay, but now has ultimately proven to be unreliable. We've had it for about 1 1/2 years, but have only used it perhaps 10 times.
The smoke generator stopped functionally correctly first: it is supposed to change the smoke chip every 20 minutes, but this became erratic, and it would leave a chip without changing it for an extended period creating acrid smoke. I called Bradley; they kindly sent me a new timer for the generator, which I installed, but it continues to malfunction and has to be watched like a hawk. The internal parts of the generator are clear and not clogged with grease or debris.
Second: it has never gotten as hot as I would have wanted; maximum temperature is 180 degrees for the first few hours even with pre-heating, and starting the desired meats in the oven before putting the ribs and chicken in the smoker.
And last, the base developed a crack in the plastic, in front where the temperature control is, with no history of damage to the unit.
Overall, I cannot recommend this appliance, and suggest you try other ways to get your smoked meats fix.

Nearly caught my house on fire with this product, and please do note I am not alone, especially lately check out the customer photos and their dates. Either this product is too difficult to use safely for most consumers, or I had a defective unit. Discount Weber 3603 Hose and Regulator Kit (21-Inch)
Always Pays to by Weber products. I had a generic one and it went bad within a year. I will never go generic again. Thanks Weber for still making parts for my BBQ!
This Weber-made hose fits like a dream, installs quickly and easily with the provided instructions, and works for years. Also, the hose is a little bit longer to accommodate the Weber grills with a side burner. Don't settle for lesser-quality off-brand options that may not fit as well.

They use specifications on these things that doesnt relate to the shop window version of the product you purchase. i.e. I have a Spirit E320. I had to find a product code and then couldnt find the specification of the regulater. So I bought this in the hope that is was OK. It fitted ok and does the job although the pipe is a bit short. Go for the longer hose if you have a spirit!Best Deals for Weber 3603 Hose and Regulator Kit (21-Inch)

Cheap Meco Double-Grid Electric Water Smoker
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $281.34
Sale Price: $159.00
Today's Bonus: 43% Off

First off, I bought my Meco 5029 from another vendor, but because I'm an Amazon Prime customer, I wanted to relay my experience here.
This is my 4th water smoker. The previous three were the painted variety and rusted apart. That was my justification for spending three times as much on this stainless model.
I received the unit yesterday. It arrived in perfect shape no dents or scratches.
If you like an installation challenge; like drilling-out misplaced rivets, adding screws where rivets should have been, and trying to locate part #23 when they really meant part #18, then you'll love this chore.
Also, the instructions say to install the handles with the Meco logo up, but no logo was found. (Not really a big deal, just humorous.)
Here's an interesting manufacturing technique used.....the sliding front door is held in place by loose rivets an interesting technique that does not provide a tight seal. I estimate there are 3/16" gaps in four places where the sliding door should be tight. I haven't used the smoker yet, but I'm going to lose a lot of heat and smoke through those gaps. And unfortunately I can't press the metal door into place, it just springs back.
Also, the cooking grates have nice handles on them, but getting the bottom grate in place requires some maneuvering, because the screws provided to attach the grate support brackets extend about 1/2" over the grate. Installing or removing the grate requires some twisting and adjusting. I cannot imagine trying to remove the grate with a pork shoulder on top. (Next time I have the unit apart I'll cut-off those long screw ends.)
Based on the design and manufacturing missteps, I rate this unit 3 stars. (And like I said, I haven't even used it yet.)
I agree with other reviewers that the lid doesn't fit very well allowing a lot of smoke to escape, the lower rack is difficult to remove because it catches on the hooks that the upper rack rest on and the thermometer in the lid is close to worthless. Other than that, i've been relatively happy with it until now because the last smokers i have owned have been painted and charcoal fired. Others have complained that it doesn't get very hot; i'm not sure what they are talking about. I prefer to smoke over low heat for a longer amount of time; something i was never able to do with my old charcoal smokers.
At this price, though, I'd have to look hard at a Weber Smoky Mountain cooker. It's not stainless but it is enameled steel and it comes with a cover -it should last for years and years, if not decades and decades. It also has superior heat control (this Meco unit, like many water smokers, has no controllable vents). I've made some very good BBQ with this Meco but it does require a lot more attention than my Smoky Mountain. I use this at big BBQs when I often will fire up this, plus a Weber, plus a big barrel grill.
So far I have smoked beef tri-tip with apple wood, and king salmon with cherry wood. Both turned out fantastic.
Beef takes a few hours and the fish takes around one hour; of course it depends on size and temperature, etc. It is nice that I only need to add wood chips and turn the electric thermostat on without the need for charcoal.
Tips:
--Soak wood chunks overnight, at a minimum. As soon as you open the lid to take food out or open the door to check your wood, it's pretty easy to start a fire in the bottom. Wood that is soaked to the center really helps.
--The first time you use it, turn the dial to low and let it heat up. You may be temped to crank it up, but the element will stay on without occasionally turning off -good way to start a fire.
--Unplug before spraying hose in bottom to put out fire. You'll end up wandering around the house trying to find which GFI circuit your patio outlet was piggy-backing on.
Cons;
--The thermometer is a "Low/Ideal/High" type completely worthless. I drilled a hole in my 5030 for a large dial thermometer, but no such luck with stainless. You'll definitely want to keep a thermometer inside, either wireless or wire pinched under the lid, if you care about temps like I do.
--The bottom rack is very awkward to get in and out, especially with anything on it. The top rack supports get in the way.
--The body does not detach from the base making it difficult to clean out the ashes. I recommend letting it cool and using the shop-vac.
--The 2 racks won't fit nearly as much meat as you may think. A cabinet style smoker is for you if you want to cook for more than a small get-together.
Overall I'm actually pretty happy with this smoker. Sure, it's not a giant competition rig, but for 200 bucks it's hard to beat. This is my go-to backyard smoker.

The replacement coil and controller for this unit is MECO part number 1521.9.001. When searching for a replacement on-line it's apparent that these units fail frequently and always in the same spot; where the controller attaches to the coil. The failure mode is a fried contact and it results in melted plastic of the controller. In two years of infrequent smoking, mine failed in the same location as everyone else has reported and although I'm not pleased, I to am happy that at least it didn't catch on fire. Much to my surprise, Meco's price on the spare at $36 is less than from other on-line companies that specialize in grill replacement parts. However, their price to ship it is $17.00 for UPS ground which is ridiculous.I agree with other reviewers that the lid doesn't fit very well allowing a lot of smoke to escape, the lower rack is difficult to remove because it catches on the hooks that the upper rack rest on and the thermometer in the lid is close to worthless.

This pulls some serious electricity -it runs off a 1000-plus-watt element -and in my house, it causes breakers to switch off. I eventually converted this to a charcoal smoker (Meco sells a kit to do this). This really shouldn't be a problem in newer houses.
Honest reviews on Meco Double-Grid Electric Water Smoker
The smoker was delivered as promised. It took around an hour to assemble it while I was having my morning coffee. If you are in a hurry, just buy your meats from the market already smoked.

I've owned and used both the black steel model (5030) and this stainless one (5029). There are 2 things missing on the stainless model that my black 5030 had: 1) There are no dampers in the lid to help regulate smoke/heat and 2) The body does not rotate a few degrees and come up-off the base. You have to reach down in this model to clean the pan around the element and empty ashes. I miss both of these features.Tips:
--Soak wood chunks overnight, at a minimum. As soon as you open the lid to take food out or open the door to check your wood, it's pretty easy to start a fire in the bottom. Wood that is soaked to the center really helps.
--The first time you use it, turn the dial to low and let it heat up. You may be temped to crank it up, but the element will stay on without occasionally turning off -good way to start a fire.
--Unplug before spraying hose in bottom to put out fire. You'll end up wandering around the house trying to find which GFI circuit your patio outlet was piggy-backing on.
Cons;

This is a lightweight, relatively compact (for car camping, not for hardcore backpack camping) grill. It does the job, though if your fire pit is too narrow for the legs to spread all the way, it's difficult to get the top to sit evenly over the fire. Still, glad we purchased; much nicer to cook food on your own (clean) grill than on a dirty, crusty grate provided by the state park.

Review of Weber Style 18701 Professional-Grade Barbecue Fork
This BBQ fork is of high quality and works well. It is plenty long enough so that you don't burn your hand when using it. Great style and looks too. Dishwasher safe---or at least mine is. Would recommend.
The only downside is that barbecue forks are really not very useful, despite being included in almost every tool collection. Stabbing the meat while it is on the hot grill is a surefire way of releasing all of the moisture from the food.
I do have one of these, but I mainly use it to move my foil smoking packets off the charcoal. It works well for that.

This is one solid piece of metal, with no rivets, screws, or weld marks to collect food and debris. There is a black rubber insert under the handle to make it easier to grip. The hook on the end is the perfect length to flip down and hold the grip off the surface it is resting on.The only downside is that barbecue forks are really not very useful, despite being included in almost every tool collection. I have owned several digital thermometers over the years and would not cook (or bar-b-que) without one. What I like the most about this one is that the display can rotate so that I can easily read it regardless of the angle of the probe. I decided to make a video review just to show how nice it is.
6492 is easy to use and accurate.
The pivoting head is definitely a bonus.

this grill brush has the longer rosewood handle tha matches my bbq set perfectly. when the the brush wears out it can be
replaced
This is so wide allows you to scrape it loose from the grill and lift big fillets onto a platter.
On my second one. The first one was swiped!
It features a nice wood handle with plenty of length and, a useful side edge for such things as scoring burgers. You can tell that it has been carefully machined. Has a really nice metal finish too. It's particularly convenient for barbecuing large-sized hamburgers. Be sure to score (#) each side of your burger prior to cooking for nice flat, uniform shape.
My order arrived quickly and in good condition.

Pros: package arrived quickly. product looks made of good material. Cons: The wood handle was twisted, then read the label and it reads "Not recommended for porcelain grates". I purchased this pillow to add a little pop of color for my new patio furniture. It's a great little pillow. I use it often under my elbow to hold my puppy's head up. Max likes the pillow to. No it is not a Pottery Barn pillow but I knew that when I bought it $$$$$. The price is right for what it meant for. The fabric resists moisture absorption which is good for keeping things tidy when entertaining.
I highly recommend this pillow set.
Summer is over and I am happy to report that the pillows look good as new. They live on a south-facing, sunny deck near the beach and have been subjected to heat, rain, and sandy elbows. They are still wonderful.
