I received this a few weeks ago and tried it out the other night on 4 eight oz. Filet Mignons. Grat grill marks, no flare ups and very juicy Filets. It is on the expensive side but I had to splurge for the Weber Performer as I LOVE TO GRILL. Covers majority of grill thus no wasted space. Very quality durable material that should last a VERY long time. Be careful though as the edges that were cut to fit the Weber are VERY VERY sharp and could cause deep nasty cuts. Surprised the company did not round down as this could be a lawsuit in the making.

Down-side.....if you Google this item you can find a $20 off coupon and order it from the manufactures site (I found the next day after ordering from Amazon). I email the company and 3 weeks later NO ANSWER. Poor customer service. If they offer the discount THEN OFFER IT TO EVERYONE! Sharp edges could cause severe cuts.

Gave if 4 stars for price and poor customer service (too bad Amazon can't breakdown the starts by category).

Good Grilling to ALL!

UPDATE SEPT. 2013

I thought it was time for an update. I loved this grate when I first purchased it however as time went on the 3 pieces would not stay connected. Thus, I stopped using it about a year ago.

Instead I found Stok SIS9000 Grill Replacement 22-1/2-Inch Grate. It is much cheaper however not cheap. Look at my review on that grate. I wish they had the Stok produced a few years ago as I LOVE IT vs. the GrillGrate now however time will tell as to how well it holds up.

Thus, I dropped the rating from a 4 to a 2 Star

I am an avid cook and very serious foodie. I own All-Clad cookware, Masahiro knives, a Viking stove, sous vide cookers, vacuum sealers, etc. and use them all. I'd pondered the Grillgrates for a couple of years and finally asked for a set for Christmas this year. After unboxing, I washed them & heated on the stove, applying a thin film of oil to season them. Once they were cooled, I fired up the grill then cooked a marinated spatchcocked chicken. I was particularly impressed with the results because at one point in the cooking process, I got distracted and I forgot to tend the bird for about 8-10 minutes. This was while the bird was directly over the flames of my charcoal Weber Performer grill, and without the Grillgrates, the bird would surely have vaporized into a nasty piled of charcoal and bones. But the Grillgrates provided enough protection that the bird was virtually unharmed other than some blackened skin on the thighs. The chicken was beautifully cooked and the rest of the skin was a nice bronze color with good texture. Plus one for the Grillgrates!

My second and third time using the Grillgrates, I noticed the down-side of these hefty aluminum plates they absorb and dissipate a lot of heat! (They would be better made of cast iron, IMO). Here's the reason: Aluminum is very effective conductor of heat. This means that it heats up very quickly, but then also transfers that heat very quickly to something else. This results in great sear marks where the heat is being absorbed from the fire and then transferred to the meat along the thin lines of the grill top. The problem is that this heat is then unavailable around the other areas of the meat meaning that you get nice cosmetic sear marks on the surface of the meat, but in the spaces between the sear marks, there is hardly any browning occurring (no Maillard reaction). I found this to be the case with both beef steaks (ribeye and New York cuts) as well as salmon fillets. Unless I apply a lacquer of maple syrup or brown sugar to the salmon (some sugar to caramelize), I cannot get a crust to form without over-cooking it on the Grillgrates. I'm still experimenting with steaks to get a good crust, but my general impression is that unless they are very thick cuts, they will need to be pan-seared before putting onto the grill in order to get the level of crust to form that I prefer on a grilled steak.

For those willing to go through the effort, my BEST result so far was to cook 1" thick Ribeye steaks sous vide in a 135 degree bath for an hour, then pan sear them in a smoking hot cast iron skillet AND THEN mark them on the Weber/Grillgrates (burning oak or mesquite wood). This results in a juicy, perfect medium steak (the way we like them) with the fat all rendered, but without an over-cooked edge, AND wonderful crust and sear marks. Lots of work, but sometimes it is just worth it.

The Grillgrates are definitely an important part of my cooking arsenal, but they are not perfect, and require some specialized handling if you want optimum results, in my opinion. I give them an extra star for the quality of construction, but would take away half a star if I could for the excessive cost (I think $120 is a bit excessive $60 or $70 seems more reasonable to me).

Things rarely live up to the hype, however these did not disappoint. I live in a real windy area so heat dissipates rather quickly, so these grates really make a difference. I can cut my usage of briquets in half and still get a higher temperature. I absolutely love them. Craig "meathead" Goldwyn is correct again. I have yet to experience an item that didn't live up to his reviews.

Honest reviews on Cut to fit GrillGrates for 22" Weber Kettle

When I first saw the recommendation by Meathead of AmazingRibs.com I thought I would buy a set without telling my wife she thinks I waste too much cash on my collection of BBQ gadgets! Last weekend, however, at our holiday house in France I admitted to buying it, and cooked some spicy pork chops. What a success! So juicy and tasty were the chops that she has now asked me to buy a second set for use at home in England. Our daughter who was with us for the weekend has asked that we give her our UK GrillGrates when we retire to France in a couple of years.

Great, GRATE BBQ accessory! (pun intended)

I have tried several different grills for my charchol bbq's...this one is the best!

I spent over $300 on a cast iron grill setup for my weber which quickly rusted and was a hassle to maintain. Not only are the GrillGrates easy to maintain but you can taste the difference this grill makes in the food.

No more burning hamburgers if you're distracted for a few minutes, food is juicy and tender everytime!

I have now purchased GrillGrates for all my bbq's!

I so desperately wanted to love this grill. Unfortunately, I don't. When you pay over $1500 for a grill, you better bet you do your homework. However, you can't go see them anywhere, so you get what you get.

The first priority for me was a lifetime warranty. They say they have it, they DON't. It's free for the first 10 years but it's 50% off list for parts after that. That means you're going to be buying burners eventually.

Second, it has a lot of plastic parts. They only show the front of the grill, so you have no way of knowing the cart handles are plastic, the sides are painted steel and the rollers are plastic.

The top of the grill is a heavy duty steel which is nice. The burners come with a drill bit for you to clean out the holes. I don't know if that's good or not? Time will tell.

NUMBER 1 complaint. It took over 90 minutes just to get the white plastic covering off the parts that were actually stainless steel. I think they put it on with Gorilla glue. What a pain.

The manual is terrible, but they all are. No words, just out of focus drawings. Some parts were difficult to figure out. Screws were not stainless, nor were the bolts. Painted steel again.

I was replacing a 12 year old Charboil professional back when they actually were. They don't make that quality now. Everything was heavy stainless on that grill, everything. All in All I wish I had gone for the Lion or Blaze from bbqguys.com.

I tried many different grills in the last years, but this is really the best one. It`s not cheap, but I think it lasts forever. Most of the Material is stainless steel. It`s easy to assemble and everything fits good together.

There are many possibilities to use this grill. But you have to buy the rotisserie set to make it perfect.

I like to make chicken or a whole turkey on the rotisserie.

I've had this grill for about two months now and it's been a mixed experience. First the good. This is a high quality, very nice looking grill. It's solidly constructed, and they don't skimp on the stainless steel. The handle which raises and lowers the charcoal bed is easy to use and secure. The removable ash tray is very convenient when cleaning.

Now the bad. My first requirement for a charcoal grill is that when you close the cover and close the vent the airflow should at least decrease enough to stop any flares. Not so with this grill. I can put the cover on, close up the vent control and there's still enough oxygen to support a continuous, roaring fire inside. So I've had to be very careful to avoid flare-ups. I'm looking to see if there's anything that can be done to tighten it up but until then I'd recommend this only with reservations.

I'm a born and bred South African and was taught at a very young age how to Braai (BBQ for those of you who don't know Afrikaans).

Over the years I've had the pleasure of using, owning and in some cases making my own BBQ's.

Now I am the proud owner of the Rolls Royce of BBQ's, the Napoleon Mirage M605RBCSS-1.

This is the Starship Enterprise of the charcoal BBQ's.

It is made of high quality stainless steel and fits together very well. (NO swearing or the use of BIG hammers is required for assembling). The bottom half (Stand) unfortunately is not stainless steel but it is still of high quality metal and finished to perfection.

The hood is well balanced and big enough to be used as a large oven with a stainless steel ACCU-PROBE(tm) temperature gauge. Open the hood and you have three very well made Porcelainized cast iron WAVE(tm) reversible channel cooking grids. For those trademark Napoleon sear lines. A warming rack is fitted at the top and works well at keeping meat warm and a good place to rest you steaks before you chomp into them.

The charcoal bed has six adjustable setting by means of a handle on the right and a very convenient and unique charcoal door to add charcoal to your fire while cooking. The heavy duty shelves either side of the BBQ come in really handy for putting your condiments on.

Behind the stainless steel doors is a large storage area where you will find the ash collection tray hidden at the top of it, making this the easiest BBQ to clean. The vents situated at the top of the doors make it easy to control the temperature although I do think that this can be improved a little.

The rotisserie is a great addition and completes the BBQ. Although the rotisserie charcoal rack could have been designed a lot better. Feeding it with charcoal can be a bit awkward.

Every time I walk onto my patio and look at my BBQ I smile, it's like having a Ferrari parked on your drive.

Poor Quality Control for this price point. I'm having to grind the cooking grates in order for them to both fit and be easily removable. It's no Hasty Bake. Additionally, after 1 night outside, you can't put the cover on until its completely cooled, the hood and side tables are covered in rust.

I've owned this smoker for 3 years and have been very happy. I've cooked ribs, brisket, picnic shoulder, boston butt, and salmon and they all have come out fantastic. Using the Bradley is very simple. I've tried smoking the traditional way but for the occasional weekend smoker keeping the heat low and slow is nearly impossible; the constant monitoring of heat and fuel for 6-12 hours took out all the joy of eating. Bradley is the way to go!

Besides making sure there were enough "pucks" of wood, you have to check the water pan to make sure it doesn't go dry. If you're smoking something fatty like a boston butt, I would recommend tossing out the oil and ash that drips into the pan after 3 hours or so and add more water. Other than that it's set and forget.

We don't have a much of a selection of wood where I live (mesquite is king) so it's great how easy it is get different woods to try and mix them like the pros do. It's not expensive to run, Bradley recommends that you only need to smoke the food for only half the total time it takes to cook your food, so if it takes 12 hours to finish, you only need 6 hours worth of pucks.

The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because it doesn't get hotter than about 250 degrees. If it had a more powerful heating element it would have greater versatility and you could cook perfect chicken with crispy skin, or use it during colder outdoor temperatures.

Side note: Just as important as the smoker is the rub and sauce. The best cookbook for BBQ I've found is Peace, Love, & Barbecue: Recipes, Secrets, Tall Tales, and Outright Lies from the Legends of Barbecue. It gives you the REAL award winning recipes, not the common "based on" recipes from some well-known BBQ pros. In addition, there are valuable hints on prepping and cooking that most other books don't give and a great guide that will help you develop your own signature rub.

Nearly caught my house on fire with this product, and please do note I am not alone, especially lately check out the customer photos and their dates. Either this product is too difficult to use safely for most consumers, or I had a defective unit. I really believe it was the latter, but if it's the former, you're going to have a hard time keeping this product clean enough to be safe.

I bought this smoker in July (five months ago). On the fifth use, it inexplicably overheated, melting the door seal. There was no fire that time. Bradley sent out a replacement door seal, saying that I must have kept the vent closed, but they'd help me this time. I hadn't kept the vent closed, and said I was concerned it was a defective unit and a fire hazard. They continued to assert it must have been a closed vent. I crossed my fingers I had just not noticed my error.

It took me nearly 2 hours to replace the door seal, a dirty job that made me swear to myself I'd maintain the smoker perfectly so there would be no potential of user error going forward. Every single time I removed every single removable part and steel wool clean it. I wiped down the sides each time, and removed any obvious grease.

Five smokes later and my wife looks out the window just in time the whole thing was ON FIRE. I unplug it, douse it with water, and finish the turkey breast (not a greasy pork roast mind you, a turkey breast) in the oven.

I call them up, assuming the fire was proof I had a defective unit that would be quickly replaced. I figure, hey, they had a record of the first incident, so it shouldn't be much of a fuss. Ahem no.

After a week of chasing, I finally got to talk to Brian, who is in charge of "fire incidents." I explained the situation, the previous problem, my exact experience and use of it, and he said it's because of user error that I hadn't cleaned the smoker thoroughly enough, and too much grease is why it caught fire. Then he offered me a "deep discount" that he didn't actually reveal.

I tried to engage him in simple logic. If you're saying this unit, that has caught fire, is NOT DEFECTIVE, and I'm saying that I've used this as responsibly as possible, what you are saying is either A) I am lying to you about how I maintained the product or B) that this product carries a very reasonable risk of a fire starting through normal customer use.

Brian didn't really want to say "A" but he essentially did when he refused to acknowledge the possibility of a defective unit. He said the chances of a defect were "slim to zero," explaining to me about how the components are each inspected before assembly. When I raised the possibility that it had been improperly assembled or perhaps my unit was otherwise defective, he basically said no. When I noted that I noticed others on Amazon were also having this issue, he literally laughed and said every product on Amazon has negative reviews from a few people.

This was pretty insulting given the time that I had invested and my earnest belief that I had used this product right and it was a defective unit. But at that point I realized that any company that would rather insult a customer than acknowledge the possibility that they could make a manufacturing error was not worth a minute more of my time other than helping assure other people aren't in my exact situation.

I wish I had taken others' warnings seriously and not written them off as being posted by careless people who didn't bother taking care of the unit properly.

You need to know that this product has the potential to catch fire, even if you use it very responsibly and even if you are as careful as I was. I'm not some random Internet troll I'm a regular suburban father who wouldn't bother posting this review if the product just stopped working.

It's a dangerous product, and even more dangerous that Bradley isn't taking the recent swell of customer fire reports seriously.

Best Deals for Bradley BTIS1 Original Fully Automatic 4-Rack Outdoor Food Smoker

I bought this for my husband for Christmas to replace an old (scary-looking) smoker. It was a real pain having to ask his folks to send mesquite wood from Texas to Massachusetts, then cut it up, soak it, etc.

We tried the Bradley smoker this weekend while we had the unusually warm weather. It comes with pellets of wood which get fed in automatically; much easier. The prime rib was done in no time at all; we finished it off in the oven for a crispier outside. We also smoked fresh kielbasa. Both were amazing. Can't wait to try the cold smoke feature!

Honest reviews on Bradley BTIS1 Original Fully Automatic 4-Rack Outdoor Food Smoker

First off, GREAT choice looking at the Bradley Smoker!

I have a barrel smoker I have used for a few years and I needed to get something to make my life a little easier so I could smoke over night and not have to get up every hour to add wood.

The Bradley Smoker 4 Rack is an awesome tool backed up by an awesome company. I have had mine for about a year now. I have smoked, ribs, brisket, pork butts, and cold smoked cheese. I have chicken wings, pork belly, and other meats lined up for the rest of this summer.

I do not suggest the digital smoker as it resets itself every 10 hours or so and requires you to unplug and restart. The Original Bradley Smoker has a sliding knob at the bottom that is used to control the heat. Normally you start out at max and leave it there for a while. After a time you will need to move it over an inch to set the temp.

Yes you do need to buy special briskets from Bradley but they are on sale here at Amazon and else where most of the time. I purchased one box of each flavor and have not needed to resupply in months and I do a lot of smoking.

Check out BradleySmoker.com and their forum and see for yourself. Great Product, Great Company! There is also a 6 rack/shelf unit out there and some come wrapped in stainless steel for a nice look!

The one and only downside to this smoker, it does not produce a smoke ring. There is NOTHING missing from the flavor but there is no smoke ring. My solution to that is starting meats in my barrel smoker for a couple hours then moving it to the Bradley Smoker for an overnight cooking!

I had high hopes for this smoker, as my family loves smoked food, which we'd always done on a Weber grill in the past.

The Bradley Electric Smoker started out okay, but now has ultimately proven to be unreliable. We've had it for about 1 1/2 years, but have only used it perhaps 10 times.

The smoke generator stopped functionally correctly first: it is supposed to change the smoke chip every 20 minutes, but this became erratic, and it would leave a chip without changing it for an extended period creating acrid smoke. I called Bradley; they kindly sent me a new timer for the generator, which I installed, but it continues to malfunction and has to be watched like a hawk. The internal parts of the generator are clear and not clogged with grease or debris.

Second: it has never gotten as hot as I would have wanted; maximum temperature is 180 degrees for the first few hours even with pre-heating, and starting the desired meats in the oven before putting the ribs and chicken in the smoker.

And last, the base developed a crack in the plastic, in front where the temperature control is, with no history of damage to the unit.

Overall, I cannot recommend this appliance, and suggest you try other ways to get your smoked meats fix.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy this brush! After we cleaned our grill with it, we noticed many of the wires from the brush had fallen out and onto our grill, as well as onto our food. This brush should be recalled!

Have used this brush for 2 months and the bristles keep breaking off, getting on the grille surface and into the food. Must be extremely dangerouis. Just threw it out because I don't know of any way to fix this issue.

Best Deals for RUBBERMAID G100-12 BBQ BRUSH WITH STEEL SCRAPER 8-1/2"

This is a good barbeque grill brush. It is inexpensive, has brass bristles, and a metal scraping blade at the top. The black handle is plastic. The face of the brush is decent size, about 3" x 3".

At a little over 10" in length it is shorter than many grill brushes. But at this price, and for the performance of brass bristles, I find that to be a good trade-off. Most manufacturers have switched from brass to stainless steel bristles. The steel bristles will be as durable, and will clean just as well, however they will be more harsh than brass on your grill surface and will scratch some grills.

The length of this brush is not important to me since I scrape the grill just after cooking, but more often the next time I get ready to grill, so the surface is not overly hot when I attack it. If you tend to clean the grill while it is still very hot, the shorter handle may bother you. While cleaning toward the back of the grill, your hand will be closer to the hot surface due to the short handle. If you prefer a brush with a longer handle, I think there are still a few out there with brass bristles. I am pretty sure Kitchenaid makes one that is about 17" long, but typically costs more than twice what the Rubbermaid does.

The face of the Rubbermaid brush makes it easy to fit in the corners and toward the back of the grill, and the scraper will fit nicely between the rungs on most grill surfaces.

Cleaning the brush is what you would expect, and over time the bristles build up some gunk and become bent/worn. That is the nature of a brass grill brush. At this price, you could get a couple and be set for a few seasons.

I have used this on several cooks now and am used to ithere is my take on this very decent product, used on large Green Egg.

It will definitely get you at the temperature you wish to be at +/15 to 20 degrees according to my maverick probes.

it allows me to cook a brisket overnite without worrying about setting the alarm every two hours to check my fire, i know this can hold the temp where i want more or less until it burns out of wood, which can be 20 hours at 250+ with the firebox full.

very simple to set up, just need an electrical cord to power it. I used my Maverick 72 probes to verify the temps at both the grill surface and the daisy wheel, the grill temp is very close to the setting on the surface of the control box.

My Egg must be quite efficient, i have to shut the baffle to a lower level to restrict airflow or she'll get over temp'd and there is no way to cool with this, just to get the temp. This is a lower cost alternative to what is out there and doesn't have near the bells and whistles as the higher priced alternatives, but that is why i never owned those others! this does what I need it to do and if you own an BGE or any kamodo-style cooker this will fit the bill!

I unhesitatingly recommend this at this early stage of ownership, if this keeps up and gives me a few years or better I will be very happy.

One word of advicePATIENCE! this doesn't respond instantly, it takes a few minutes at times to speed up the fan so don't sweat it, it will get there for you and keep you there if you have it adjusted properly and that is easy s soon as you "learn" your cooker's efficiency. This and a good quality temp probe and you will have great success with your cooksTemp Control is what it is all about as you smoker's know!

I bought this for use with my Broil King Keg and it works great! One tip for the BKK is to set it 50F below your target temp when starting out. The BKK is so efficient that the IQ110 tends to overshoot a bit at first, but once it's warmed up the IQ110 nails the temp. It held 225F perfectly for a 20 hr pork butt cook, and the butt turned out great!

I was warned by someone that these are fragile and they were known to fail. I suspected they were mishandled, and that I would be sure to handle mine with care. I spent a lot of money to get this installed and after a few months of service, it failed. It is stuck open and no longer times-down to close. This is not due to mishandling (i.e. Forcing it closed or turning beyond some limit). I do not plan to get a replacement, as installation costs more than the valve itself.

Great idea, but heed my warning. Mine failed after I ignored my warnings..

I had several reasons for wanting to buy one of these timers.

a. They recommend running the grill on high for 15 minutes after you finish cooking. This burns up the remaining food stuck ot the grill, and lets you easily clean it up and get it ready for next time. My concern was the 15 minutes might turn into 15 days, and show up accordingly on my gas bill.

b. Since the grill is outside, the grill, quick disconnect hose, and valve are exposed to vandals.

c. I wanted to connect it also to my garage furnace that I've been known to leave on overnight by accident.

d. Concern about a surprise gas bill if a tree root were to get my gas line to the garage, and I forgot to turn off the valve inside.

These timers is manufactured by RH Peterson Co., and Fire Magic is the RH Peterson Co. brand.

The valve is constructed as two ~1/2" intersecting bores. There is a piston in the cross bore. The gas flow does not go straight through, however. The cross cylinder has a slot in it that starts at approximately 25% from the bottom of the 1/2" diameter gas passage, to approximately 1/8" being above that, which is the top of the piston when the valve is open. Thus, the slot is somewhat below the widest point in the bore, and 1/8" high. My concern being that it wouldn't flow enough gas to run my large grill or 80,000 BTU garage furnace without impacting performance

I set the timer for an hour. When it ticked down to close to the OFF mark, I shined a light through it again and watched. Suddenly, I heard a snap, the plunger piston had snapped shut, the timer stopped, and I could no longer suck air through it. So it works like an egg timer, except instead of hitting a bell, it slides a piston.

I tried it again except I wound it up to approximately 5 minutes. The timer started ticking but the valve was not open. I then wound it a little more, and the valve opened and the timer started ticking again. This time the plunger closed very slowly and by about the 5 minute mark, it had closed to where you couldn't suck air through it, but it was still ticking. That's not such a good scenario since there might not be enough for a flame, but enough to build up gas. Then I wound it back up to an hour, it worked like it did the first time. It stayed full open, the valve snapped shut, and the timer stopped ticking.

They advertise the valve to flow 100,000 BTUs. That is meaningless information. First, flow is dependent on opening area and pressure. Second, propane and natural gas each have very different BTU ratings per cubic foot. Third, if that is for a 100% pressure drop, then how much of that flow is usable would be nowhere near the advertised rating since the operation of the appliance depends on performing the pressure drop itself. What would be useful is of they would state something like it flows like 1/4" diameter pipe one foot long so that it could be calculated into the gas flow, just like you to today with pipes and fittings. Perhaps they mean for up to 100,000 BTU propane grill? I couldn't get an answer from the vendor, but they were hot to sell me a grill and another timer.

I don't have figures for my gas pressure, but I do know that the gas company replaced our meter and set the pressure here about two years ago. I also know that pressure they shoot for is as close to 1/4 psi as they can get without exceeding it. That comes out to a whisker below 7 inches of water pressure. The piping to the timer is 1/2" black pipe. From the timer to the grill is ~25' of 1/2" black pipe until it gets to the 3/8" quick disconnect. The piping to the garage furnace is ~70' of 3/4" plastic except between the valve in the garage and the furnace. All manual valves are full flow.

With the absence of any real specs, I decided I needed to have a way to determine if this valve is the real deal or a hoax, and if a hoax, uncover it publicly before they scammed anyone else. I had to run a natural gas line for the grill and decided to re-plumb the garage furnace as well to be able to use the timer with the garage furnace also. I have shut-off valves in addition to the timer valve because once wound, you cannot shut it off, it has to time out. I added one more thing, a timer bypass so that I could heat the garage for more than 3 hours without have to rewind the timer. This also lets me test if the gas timer is affecting the output of the grill or furnace. The first test was to try it with my 64,000 BTU grill. The max the grill would get with just the timer with 530 degrees. When I turned on the bypass, the grill didn't gain a single degree. Then I turned the bypass back off and the grill did not lose a single degree. My expectation was to determine how much it would change, not if it would change. That was a surprise. The next test was the 80,000 BTU natural gas furnace. Without something as convenient as a temperature gage to measure with, I came up with two methods to test. One method would be by eyeballing the flame. If the flame increased noticeably when the bypass valve was turned on, and the other by measuring the difference between the number of seconds between burner on high, and the activation of the fan switch. By looking at the flame, I couldn't determine with any degree in confidence if there was any differences in flame. The next day I did the fan switch test. With the heat exchanger at 57 degrees, and the timer bypass on, it took 1:47 from burner start to fan switch activation. On the second test, the heat exchanger was at 87 degrees. With the bypass off it took 1:36.

I could have gone on and measured it with both the furnace and grill on and check for a temperature drop at the grill, but I don't want to spend any more time on it. I know with certainty that the timer will do at least 80,000 BTU on natural gas, enough to do my garage furnace or grill, which is what I needed to know.

In college, I had an exceptionally tough teacher. (Engineering classes) I noticed how much he was into the details and would fault students for not getting the exact nomenclature right by manufacturer, so I memorized them. I got 100% on the test and when he handed it back to me he said too bad. I asked him why? He said because when I have to give someone 100% it means they haven't been tested. After all of this, I have to say that the valve hasn't been tested. However, from what I've written, you might be able to get a pretty good idea if it will work for your application. Concerning longevity, I cannot comment. I just installed it, and the timer valve is mounted inside, on a wall, where it is not subject to the elements, vibration, or abuse.

This was installed on a natural gas line at an apartment complex. It didn't last longer than 18 months so we are going to try a different brand and model.

Honest reviews on Fire Magic 850-D Automatic Barbecue Shut-Off Timer

Have you ever forgotten to turn off your grill ? My son-in-law left his grill turned on for over 24 hours (it's connected to a natural gas line). The danger of a grill that's forgotten is obvious. Even a full propane tank can continue to burn for a very long time. A natural gas line will feed the grill forever (at least until the grill melts down). I don't understand why grill manufacturers are not required to put these kind of automatic shut off valves on their products. Seems so simple and I'm sure it could be done without a huge additional cost. But until this kind of device is standard on all grills, the Fire Magic gas timer is a great substitute. It works well on natural gas and I'm sure it would work just as well on Propane.

We installed the unit as specified and after about 2 weeks it stopped working. The timer would hang up and stop somewhere between the 1 hour and 2 hour setting. It's a great idea but manufactured very poorly.

About 1 hour assembly out of the box, a little frustration during assembly but not too bad after a few beers. Seasoned the smoker per directions a little trouble getting temp perfect but didn't take long to figure it out. With both burners on low I get about 250 degrees on the door thermometer which runs 10 degrees high when comparing that to a thermometer probe I placed in the smoker. For ease I decided to use one burner on med to achieve 220 that way I could switch to the other burner when that one ran out of smoke. Smoke box filled lasted about 2 hours did have one spout where the wood chips ignited this is probably due to using one burner and the chips box getting too hot. All in all the brisket was awesome just as good as any I cooked on a charcoal/wood smoker and way easier. I went to the gym the grocery store and ran two other errands things I would I have never thought of doing with a wood smoker. A defiant buy for anyone especially a newbie just starting.

This smoker was super easy to assemble and use. It's a lot larger than we expected, we smoked 24 chicken legs, 20 lb. turkey, large brisket and about 40 links of sausage and still had plenty of room for more food.

This smoker does everthing it says it will. Went from a charcoal smoker to a gas smoker and I will never go back to charcoal.

Honest reviews on Smoke Hollow 44241G2 44-Inch Vertical LP Gas Smoker

This smoker was delivered with numerous holes in the box. I questioned the delivery driver about it, but he wouldn't wait for me to open it. Once opened, there was minor damage to the smoker where something had poked through the box and nearly through the thick walled smoker. The smoker itself was not hard at all to assemble. That is except for two missing nut plates, that I was easily able to find suitable substitutes for at home depot.

As far as smoking this thing is a champ. I've done numerous chickens, a beef tenderloin, brisket, ribs, and pork tenderloin. All turned out excellent. It is possible with the use of one burner to smoke lower than 200 if desired, and with both burners and the water pan not installed I can achieve 450 very easily. It maintains whatever temp you desire until your propane runs out, so if smoking a brisket, you could set it and forget it.

I would definitely recommend this smoker, especially if you can find it for just over 300 dollars as I did. If not, 400 is still a good deal.

Theoretically, I am giving this purchase 4.5 star (wish we could do halves on Amazon!). The rug arrived swiftly and the packaging was excellent. I feared it would be shipped rolled and with rugs that becomes a pain as the rug gets a memory. To my surprise, it was shipped in a large flat box (thank you!).

I do love the rug and it is very sturdy. An excellent outdoor mat that is functional and beautiful. The reason I am giving this purchase 4.5 stars is because there is a very heavy chemical smell to the rug. Thankfully, I am using this rug outside and my hope is over time that chemical smell will dissipate. I would not recommend using this rug indoors because of the chemical smell.
