We live in a condo complex on a second floor with a large balcony. We are only allowed to have an Electric Grill. After reading many of the other reviews for the other Electric Grills, I choose Meco because I did consumer research.

Having the Grill this summer was a great gift. Food tastes wonderful, doesn't take up too much space, has 2 fold out flaps to store food and such. Heats up quickly, easy temperatures gauge.

As for cleaning, take the metal rack and rinse with ease. If cleaned quickly after use, like any pot or pan with hot water, stays completely perfect. If not grill residue does build up in the electric area that gives you the heat to grill, and if you wait to long to clean you will smell the burning of the old excess drippings. (I clean immediate without any issue the fiance although did not...)

We've enjoyed this grill for over a year and it works very well. We don't have a gas hookup on our balconey since we live in an older high-rise condo building, so we are forced to have electric. This grill is the best of all of them. We've had two Char-Broil grills and both pathetically died after a year. We also tried an electric grill from Home Depot that annoyingly never held a constant temperature. This grill is still going strong and we expect it to for years to come. The hinged door is a must as well as the wooden racks which are not offered with any of the other electric grills. This is our forth electric grill and by far the best.

After having this grill a couple of years, I'm downgrading the stars. It still works, but it isn't 5 star quality. Yet, there is not much to chose from in terms of electric grills and it does work well enough.

This is my second Meco Grill. I use the grill 2 or 3 times a week, year round. It is very sturdy and a high quality product. Most importantly this electric grill generates more heat than any electrick grill I have used before buying a Meco. The amount of heat generated is important for grilling delicious steaks, chops and chicken, that taste as good as if they were grilled over wood or charcoal It was not too dificult to assemble. Since it generates so much heat I found to extend it's life it was a good idea to line the interrior with heavv duty aluminum foil, to keep the grill clean. My previous Mecco grill lasted 6 years and was still useable. Another plus for this grill is the fact the heating element and control mechanism are easily replaceable and costs a mere $40. This is the only part that might wear out after a few years of heavy use. It was a steal at Amazon for $129 with free shipping. It is worth a lot more. Don't buy the model with a glass window, because it will turn black with soot from cooking and be useless.

The design of this grill leaves something to be desired. It is difficult to clean and the drip tray is a little aluminum loaf pan that is hard to insert into the holder without mangling it.

The electric burner has an aluminum pan under it which catches all the juices, grease, etc., which causes it to smoke heavily.

The rotissery works pretty good. My last one was a CharBroil and it was far superior to this one.

It was difficult to find a quality square cover. This cover is well made and has provided over a year of great protection to my outdoor patio set. This cover is very well made. So far it has repelled rain and has stayed in place on windy days. I purchased this cover knowing it would be a bit large because I need it to cover a bar height table and four chairs. It does drape low to cover the chair legs. It has ties at the corners that I have not needed to use yet. The cover is light weight enough for me to handle by myself. It has vents on the sides to allow air flow. I anticipate this cover to last many years.

If you like grilling kabobs these are great skewers for you. Basically, there are two main types of skewers available in the market. Metal and Wooden. Wooden ones can be made of bamboo or other wood types and often are round shape. The problem with wood skewers is that they can get burnt if the grill is quite hot so you have to soak the skewers in water before use. Also, because they are round, it's difficult to "flip" the skewer so that you can evenly grill the kabobs or whatever else you are grilling.

The metal skewers generally available in market are round. You don't have to soak them in water but they still have problem with flipping the skewer for even cooking. Flat metal skewers are perhaps the best. They are not burnt by heat and you can flip the skewer easily for even cooking. The only thing you have to be careful about is that metal gets hot after being on grill, so hand gloves are a must with these.

I bought weber flat flat skewers before I bought these. The weber ones are not as wide and perhaps not as sturdy as these. These skewers are also available in 5/8 inch and 7/8 inch widths besides the 3/8 inch width. I bought all three width skewers from amazon but I think for most purposes 3/8 inch size is best.

I am giving these four stars because when I hand washed them I could bend the skewer while washing and I think they could be made sturdier.

For the price, I think I got an excellent product.

I bought several different sized sets of these skewers so I could try them all, including the widest so I could cook ground beef.

These stainless steel jems are simply the best........ The quality and workmanship is excellent. Unlike water soaked bamboo skewers that will burn up, you can cook your kabobs on very hot fires and get that crusty exterior that makes em taste great. These skewers are flat and can be turned with tongs or even pliers. The meat and veggies will not spin. They are dish washer safe.

I shortened several of the skewers by 2" making them the perfect length to fit in a Large Big Green Egg. Left at full length they are fine for a 22" Webber.

I also used a file to sharpen the points to make the food literally glide on the skewers. (Take care when using the skewers if you sharpen them)

I'd give these a 6 out of 5 if I could.

These skewers are great they make cooking kebabs easier and hence more enjoyable to me. They really are flat so they don't rotate. By hand these are easy to clean and I haven't had any rust problems (I don't own a dishwasher). I don't own a grill either so I make all of my kebabs under a gas broiler. I make a *lot* of kebabs (from Indian to Vietnamese to BBQ, see images for an example) and I went through soaking bamboo skewers like lots of other people. I also wasted money on those metal skewers with the "B B Q" on the ends (available on Amazon). They're terrible (I reviewed those as well). Finally I bought all 3 sizes of the Steven Raichlen skewers together with a mandoline slicer and got the cheapest one free by the 4-for-3 promotion. At first I found it a little difficult to get the skewers through certain types of meat, and I poked myself a few times (nothing serious). I decided to sharpen the ends of the skewers myself. I have to be more careful now, but ultimately I think it's safer since the skewers just glide through the meat and I don't have to force them and they don't slip (similar to why sharp knives are safer than dull ones). I uploaded an image of a sharpened versus nonsharpened skewer end.

Kebabs are a great food in my opinion -delicious yet easy, fast and fairly inexpensive (depending on the meat you choose, of course!). It usually takes me about 30 minutes to get a marinade together and prepare the meat, then I let them sit in the fridge for a day or so. Cooking kebabs under the broiler is quick and easy, cleanup is a snap, and a citrus splash, some dipping sauce (either a chutney or the rest of the marinade cooked down to a paste) and a simple side dish (from homemade potato salad to a green salad to other, various veggie kebabs) complete the meal. Wash it down with a homemade ginger kombucha and finish with an espresso for dessert. I am an avid cook and have bought lots of equipment and cookbooks on Amazon. Eventually I will review all of them, especially the cookbooks, so you can see which kebab recipes I like for whatever it's worth.

First, the grill is as the image uploaded by Steven. Second, I disagree with the reviewer from Jupiter that "gas grills are a waste of money".

I have a 7-year old bottom of the chain gas grill, one with the 17-inch dual burners and a porcelain coated grill. It burned foods quite often and in the past two years I had been contemplating many newer versions with cast iron grate but they were all too big for my need. Holding down my tears, I forked out half the price of a similar new grill for a new heat plate and burner to get by, then I found this grate and could not be happier. Well, actually I could if they make it larger, say about 14x20 which still fits all standard grills while giving a lot more cooking surface. I withheld one star for this.

For cooking, the uneven flames produced by the cheap grill are now intercepted by the cast iron grate and spread out evenly. You can read elsewhere for what to be liked (sears, brown, ...) or disliked (maintenance, weight,...) about cast iron and decide for yourself, but the fact that it turns botchy flames into even heat alone is worth a try.

I don't think we are going to get a new grill any time soon.

I got tired of replacing warped grill plates, the accessory grills for cooking shrimp, scallops, and small vegies. The Lodge cast iron grill has not warped after several grillings at very high heat. And clean up is as easy as cleaning the main grill.

I bought this grill elsewhere for 80 bucks and the only thing that I can say is that it is a great grill for 80 bucks. Assembly instructions were clear enough for me to follow and not make any mistakes. I do agree that it took a good chunk of time to put together, but for 80 dollars, what do you expect?

I understand the low star rating for the customer(s) that did not receive all of the parts for their grill (my grill came with all noted parts). What I can't understand is people complaining about a grill this cheap that does what it is supposed to do. If you don't want to assemble a grill (or if you can't read instructions), don't buy the grill online. Did you expect it to be assembled and delivered to your back porch? There are plenty of stores that you can go to and buy a pre-assembled grill. If your expecting the highest quality grill for 80 dollars, then you have another problem altogether.

This grill is perfect for my situation, as we live in a 2 bedroom condo on the second floor that only has a small patio/balcony. I was able to leave the left shelf off of the grill and it fits nice and flush against the corner wall. Although I have only grilled on it 3 times so far, it does a fairly good job and it is much better than using our old propane grill that sat on the floor. I would highly recommend this grill if you are looking for a smaller no frills grill that does its job well.

Bought it at a general store for 80 bucks. Afte reading all the reviews here, we were very suspicious about the assembly. So we started very carefully and took stock of all the parts after opening the box. Surprisingly all the parts were there and none was missing. It took me and my wife about 2 hrs to assemble. But the instructions in the booklet were clear and they had very properly marked all the screws which was really helpful.

Did our first barbecue yesterday evening and turn out to be good.

Cooking area is good for 4-5 people.

I had a CharBroil unit before this one that lasted me fifteen years, so I thought I'd try another. This is a great little unit. It is a little wider than my previous unit, but significantly deeper. The internal design, with its rounded heating container, foil over the burners and larger grill surface make for more even heat distribution and smoother cooking. The plastic side shelves are much less likely to warp the way the cedar ones on my previous unit did and the utensil hangers on them are very convenient. Its push button lighter works like a charm and the match holder on a chain that comes with the unit is a nice accessory. All the listed parts came with it, but you have to read the assembly manual VERY carefully to avoid having to go back and do things over as it is not intuitive at all. The only real neagtive about this unit is the assembly time. The 45 minutes listed in the manual is ridiculous. Only someone who is very mechanically inclined AND has done it before could assemble this grill in that time. It took me over three hours.

This review applies to MN 463620411 S/N 6208141105-019819 purchased 3/12/2012. My experience seemed so much better than many others, perhaps there have been running improvements since 2009. So if your numbers are widely different, or substantially earlier, you may not have the same as I got.

I was looking to replace my 7-year old similar $99 Char-Broil which rusted out(left outside uncovered continually). First, the materials, fit and finish are MUCH better than my old grill. Thicker materials. Better black finish. Everything fits. And surprisingly good hardware, too.

The hardware was packaged in a multi-bubble pack, simple cardboard backing with each part identified under an easy-to-open cardboard flap. Open the flaps as the parts are needed. You have a convenient tray of identified separated parts, easily accessible. Now the parts themselves as one example, older/other grills I have assembled came with those very cheap, thin, square nuts and cheap unplated serrated lockwashers. This grill comes with 'flanged nuts' regular reasonably thick hex nuts with a built-in serrated flange. Hand tighten them, and no need to use a wrench on them as you tighten with a Phillips. Great! All the hardware was of similar quality and consistency. Yes, the metal is a bit soft you can cam-out the Phillips heads use a hand screwdriver. But in total, way above other hardware I have seen on cheao grills. All the parts were well packaged many even wrapped in paper. Not a scratch or mark on any of them. And the burner seems to be made of stainless though its not mentioned in the advertizing I saw.

Now assembly. Yes, 35-40 minutes is a joke. Maybe for your second or third one but allow 2 hours for the first. Read the instructions all of them. Perhaps download the manual while you are waiting for the grill to arrive. Get very familiar with the parts BEFORE starting any assembly, Particulary study pg 15 Parts List and 16 Parts Diagram. Some parts may seem symmetric but they are not. The only truly symmetric parts are identified on pg 15 with a single Letter and Quantity 2. All others with a Qty 1 are a Left and a Right. One to watch for the 'Cart Leg, Uppers') (O, K). They may look identical. They are not. The Firebox mounting studs are offset and need to be assempled with the studs offset toward the inside on both of them or the firebox will not fit. This was the one place I found the manual not too clear. The offsets only really show onpg 20. But I caught it and assembled correctly first time. Everything fit perfectly. I was amazed. So far four **** stars only because the parts were not actually labelled or stampted A, B, C etc. and the 'cart leg' isssue which I later saw had trapped others...

After installing the propane tank, connecting the regulator, doing the 'leak test' per instructions, we ran the grill for 20 minutes on high again per instructions to 'burn off' any volatiles in the finish etc. Good idea before cooking anything as it stank for the first 10 minutes. Then the stench stopped. Cooked some burgers perfectly. Four **** stars for function only because the grates are wire not cast iron. If they had been cast iron, 5 ***** stars.

So my overall price-independent rating: four **** stars, no question. So far, the best $100 grill I have ever had. But we shall see on durability...

I've owned one of these in the past (bought it about 6 or 7 years ago) and it was fantastic. Inexpensive NOT cheap sturdy, well built... I mean this thing was like a TANK. Practically indestructible. I live in michigan and I used it all year long sometimes twice a day. I LOVED that grill!

Well, after about 5 years of constant use it finally wore out. No problem, I thought I'll get another one. After all it was very affordable and I certainly felt like I got my money's worth out of it.

So I bought another one. Well, like they say, "Things ain't what they used to be." The "New and Improved" version is a toy. My original one was heavy and solid. The sidewalls were thick and sturdy. I think you could shoot the thing with a .38 and it would bounce right off.

Well, the new one was flimsy and thin. I think you could practically poke through it with a screwdriver or a pocket knife.

The cooking grate on the old one was thick, solid and heavy. It had a great finish on it and was easy to clean.

Needless to say the new one was light weight and super thin. Everything I cooked on it stuck to it as well.

Well, just three days ago I lit the thing and went into the house to wait for it to warm up. When I came back out, to my horror and surprise, flames were rolling out of the front of it right up and over the flame control knobs and front panel. My knobs were melting and oozing down the front of it. (I should have taken a picture of it, but next day was trash day and I put that thing right out for the garbage.) I thought for sure it was going to explode or something!!

I don't know who the corporate clown was that decided to "upgrade and improve" upon a perfectly good thing. I know "let's make it a little cheaper and increase our profit margins." Short-sighted suits who can't see past their wallets and their bottom line.

I WILL NEVER buy another grill from these clowns and I will continue to try and educate others about their inferior, flimsy, cheap construction!

I think some of the positive reviews of this grill are probably for people who bought the older version. Or possibly from people who bought the newer one and didn't have the old one to compare it to.

I'm telling you this grill is a piece of garbage... and that's exactly where it will wind up.

If you use your grill 5 or 6 times during the summer, this might be an OK grill for you. If you are a grillmaster who thinks everything tastes better grilled... Please look elsewhere!!

If I could give this thing a ZERO star rating, I would.

For some reason, the big-box hardware stores recently stopped carrying replacement grills for my gas BBQ. I had a suspicion that I would still find replacement parts on Amazon. The grill rack I ordered is the upper level rack that swivels as the lid goes up and down. The replacement fit perfectly. No need to buy a new grill while parts for the old one remain available. Sounds like a big-box plot against old grills. I would suggest, though, that you carefully measure your old grill before ordering a replacement. There a many sizes available. Don't go by the picture.....go by the measurements that mirror the ones on your grill.

My grill model was listed as compatable with this, however, the measurements of the pivot points are off to the extent that when the grill closes, the rack drops fully down to the main grill. When up, the rack is tilted back a lot, where it should be level. It is all about the pivot point and the length of the pivoting arm.

Bought this sportula for a present for my brother. Chose it over others because I felt the branding would be better than the other teams we like. I saw it at an outside vendor, but didn't like the plain M on my Michigan spatula. I then found it online exactly how I wanted with "Michigan" printed across the "M", but when I got it, it was just a plain M. Not at all what was on the picture. My brother opted to keep it, I wanted to return it. So dissappointed. Just blatant misadvertising.

I will skip the majority of the review, as the other reviews are covering the features well enough. It is pretty well designed, easy to assemble, sturdy, etc.

There is one complaint I have though, with this cart. The mount for the propane tank is behind the large gray plastic piece you can see in the picture. This is fine, except that this places about 1/3 to 1/4 the propane tank off the actual cart. I assume they did this to make installation/removal of the tank easier, although it seems unnecessary. It makes the tank less stable than it should be, and it increases the overall footprint of the entire unit.

Where this really gets frustrating is if you purchase the Weber 6553 Premium Cover. Because the tank sticks out the back, every time you put the cover on you have to wrestle it around the tank. There is plenty of room on the cart; they could have easily moved the mount forward so this was a non issue.

This may seem nitpicky, but I have had mine about two years now and it irritates me more and more every time I use it.

At the same time, I have had mine two years, and this is the ONLY complaint I have. It's a great unit, and I would highly recommend it.

I really like the Weber Q series of grills and now that I am on my second one, a Q200 (my Q100 was stolen) I decided to get a cart for my new, larger grill. Weber makes two carts for it, the 6507 Rolling Cart and this item, the 6508 Stationary Cart. The reason one is called "stationary" and the other "rolling" is because the 6507 folds up and includes a strap so that one can use it as a caddy for transport. Since it folds you can put it in the trunk of your car. If the folding feature is not important to you, they both function the same as far as moving them around when the 6507 is fully upright. The 6508 Stationary Cart includes a hose adapter for the 20 lb. LP tank and the other does not. It also seems better built and includes a screen that blocks the tank from view.

The cart was fairly easy to assemble, even though I hate to put things together. It took me about 30 minutes and I only used one or two bad words. I would have spent more money for a cart that had more metal and less plastic, but it is what it is. It still seems well built and sturdy enough.

When you fold out the shelves on the 200 or 220 this portable BBQ pit transforms into a really nice, small, full featured gas grill. I find it easy to move around I think that this is a good compromise for someone who wants both a portable grill and standard-type one.

I was checking out the Weber Q-200 in a local department store and I was lucky enough to see it displayed on the portable Weber Q-cart. The grill moved back and forth a little too much for my liking when I checked the stability of the portable cart. So, even though I wasn't crazy about spending the extra money, I went with the stationary cart.

I am very pleased with this cart. It was easy to put together and was significantly more sturdy than the portable cart. The stationary cart is well designed and looks great with the Q-200. If your Weber Q-200 or Q-220 grill is pretty much staying put at home, bite the bullet and spend the extra cash for the stationary cart.

I bought this grill cart instead of the cheaper one because I wanted something that would be sturdy, sit in my backyard and look nice. The other one is weak and you can't put a 20lb tank on it. You also can't clean the grill with the other rolling cart because it may just fall down.

You will find that this cart is as sturdy as any other standalone grill machine. I scrubbed as hard as I could and this thing barely moved! I read before that people think the 20lb tank doesn't go well in the pre-fitted area in the back of the grill cart. I found this to be totally wrong. It fit just like it was supposed to and looked very nice as well. It takes a little work to wiggle the tank around the handle locking device that keeps it from falling out of the grill, but once you do it is like its part of the frame of the grill.

I bought grill cover for this as well and it fit perfectly. I read that some people got a grill cover with a mesh hole in the back for venting and they were angry about water getting through. Mine did not come with a mesh vent at all and it just went through a hurricane and the grill stayed upright and dry. I couldn't ask for much more.

This comes with the propane tank adapter hose. Assembly was straight forward. Only part that didnt go smooth was screwing the tank bracket into the cart. The screws stopped prematurely and the bracket was wobbly and needed to be tightened down some more. I backed the screws out, got a gunsmithing screwdriver that'll drive the screws with more force without stripping the screw slots and finally got the bracket on pretty snug. I can get 2 legs on one of the Weber 200 in easy then have to slightly spread the top of the cart on the other end to get the rest of the Q in.

The Weber just sits on the cart, it's not bolted on or anything.

The plate that the 20lb tank sits on will scuff up the first time you put a tank on it and rotate it into position, no big deal.
