I got these tongs in the set of Weber tools and they are my least favorite tool. I had high hopes for them but am not pleased overall.

Pros:

-Good steel

-Comfortable handle

-Ability to lock closed is nice

Cons:

-Spring steel to hold tongs open is unimpressive. After just a month or so of use they are already starting to stick closed

-Both grips curve inward. This is to improve the tongs' grip which would be perfect for fry pan tongs if all you were moving were chicken pieces you can grip anywhere but on a grill you need at least one of those to be flat so they can slide under food that you want to pick up. If you want to move a few racks of ribs, for instance, you will probably need to lift them with a spatula so you can grip them with these tongs. A better considered design for grilling would have one side flat so you could slide under food then grip them

These are not bad tongs but it's such a simple tool that not being thought makes it hard to like them, and at $13 on their own or $25-$30 for the set starting to stick closed after a short amount of time makes me feel they're not a great overall value either. Still, there are points to like so overall I think they're just OK, no more no less.

This is a huge set of tongs, great for BBQ's and such with a nice silicon handle and a long length will keep your arm from catching the heat off the grill.

No complaints here. These Weber tongs are well-made and ergonomic. Easy to grip during grill and easy to clean up. I've used other tongs designed for grilling and they weren't as easy to grip as these. I think it has to do with the internal spring that helps with the clamping.

I don't leave reviews for things unless they really stand out as being a good purchase for me. My husband and I often talk about how impressed we are with this grill and how it's easier than our gas grill was. I bought this grill because my new apartment complex did not allow open-flame grills on the patios. I searched amazon for the cheapest outdoor electric grill that got good reviews and decided on this one (it also comes in other colors, which had good reviews, but I wanted black). I had planned on buying a table to put the grill on, but ended up just using a wooden TV tray that I had which worked out just fine.

I had never used an electric grill before so I didn't know what to expect would it take forever to cook, would things taste different, etc. Turns out things taste exactly the same as I remember them tasting on the gas grill. I just preheat it on high for about 5 minutes, put the food on, close the lid, and come check on it every 5 minutes or so. I leave it on the highest setting all the time. I've grilled chicken, steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs, crab legs, veggie burgers and catfish. I don't remember my gas grill cooking hamburgers this well actually. It's not easy to burn food on this grill I've forgotten about my hamburger and came back like 15 minutes later to find that it hadn't burned the side facing down, just started cooking the other side, so I didn't really even need to flip it. I use it maybe once or twice a week. I've had it for 8 months now and besides having a little grime on it because I never clean it, it works good as new.

Putting it together was easy, not very many steps, probably took 15-20 minutes. It's a pretty good size, you could easily fit 4 hamburgers on there with plenty of room around them. I use it for myself and my husband though, so I haven't put a ton of food on it at once. Amazon doesn't have a lot of information or photos of this grill, so I would recommend looking on other websites for more photos and specs.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this grill, I can't think of any features it is lacking that I need. Since I always leave it on the high setting, I just plug it in, cook my food and unplug it, it's really easy.

This grill is exactlly what I wanted. I take it out on the back porch, plug it in. It's ready to go in 5 minutes. Grill my stuff. And it's cooled down in 20 minutes. No charcoal or propane tanks. No fuss! And the food tastes "grilled". Yum!

After trying to cook a thawed out steak of 1" thickness on this grill for the first time, I gave up after 45 minutes! The steak was barely warm. I contacted the manufacturer who first wanted to send me another heating element. But this unit was also larger than I expected, so they agreed to let me return the unit. I had to wash it off and put it back in the box, but at least the manufacturer refunded my purchase price promptly, including the return shipping cost. So I gave 2 stars since the manufacturer was courteous about the return. Perhaps it was a bad heating element but I have never purchased an electric grill that did not work well.

When this product works, it works great -you can fire your Solaire grill with a large refillable propane cylinder for hours of excellent grilling. However, there appears to be a serious falt with this product. At least two people I know of, myself and a firend, have received hoses with an actuator pin that is either too short or set too deep within the fitting, so that it is not depressed by the regulator stem and no gas comes through. I myself have ordered two of these: one works fine and the other has the aforementioned problem. As I live in the Middle East and had these shipped all the way over here, I'm not about to send them back. In my experience though, Rasmussen is a great company and I'm sure they would make good. However, the problem seems to be prevalent enough that they really should address it with their supplier. As is is now, it seems that you stand a pretty good chance of getting a faulty product.

Purchased a BBQTek grill 2 years ago, parts are completely corroding and falling apart (terribly company! terrible materials!). BBQTek parts are 5x the cost of these and made from paper thin metal. These burners feel solid, look good, and I expect them to last.

I did need to modify my grill a bit to fit these in by drilling new mounting holes. Not a big deal. Good universal burners at the perfect size. Thanks!

First, let me state that I (usually) love Weber products. When I was a younger and broke, one of the 'symbols of affluence' for me was to be able to afford a Weber grill. At the time, they were (for me) a high priced status symbol, i.e.: they weren't 'some piece of crap made in China that you'd have to replace in 3-5 years'.

I now own a Weber 'Genesis Silver A' gas grill (that needs to have the frame rebuilt because of rusting issues), a Weber 22.5" One Touch Silver, and a Weber 18.5" Smokey Mountain Cooker. I use them all regularly. As a welder and metal fabricator, I can now clearly see where the weaknesses are in their products.

I bought a set of these to replace my grill's original bars thinking that the stainless steel wouldn't rust; that they would last longer than the original ceramic coated ones. I was wrong.

Weber products are, usually, very well designed and made, but with them recently shifting their production overseas (read: East Asia / China) and as a result of their attempt to lower corporate costs by using low grade materials and cheap labor, their products simply don't last as long as they could / should. This makes me sad.

As a result of Weber's attempt to lower costs, they are using CRAP materials. The stainless steel that they use in their flavorizer bars is the lowest quality stainless steel available. I read in the review by 'N. Krumpe' stating that a Weber rep actually told him that a 'flavorizer bar will rust within the first year...'

Yes, they will. If they are made out of crap, cheap, low-grade stainless steel.

OK, enough ranting.

Don't waste your money.

Weber makes their stainless flavorizer bars out of the lowest grade stainless steel available and they will rust, which means you'll be replacing them again in a few years. If you have complaints and call Weber about it, you'll be told (aka: 'spin') that it's normal (yes, it is normal for crap stainless to rust under heat; but not good stainless) and that you should just be quiet about it.

Bottom Line: Don't waste your money on these.

If you need replacement parts for your Weber grill, search the internet for high grade stainless parts or search out a fabricator that will use grade 304 stainless or better and have the parts custom made.

Or, if you're really a stickler for quality and are willing to pay for it, get a Viking Outdoor Grill. Their products are 'upscale' and the quality is spectacular.

And the answer is 'no'. Not an employee, not a shareholder. Nada. Just a fan of great stuff.

Like other reviewers, I purchased these stainless steel flavorizer bars to replace my rusted enameled bars. After two years of average use (grilling once a week or so during the summer), as I was cleaning my grill I realized that these stainless steel bars are rusty...quite rusty, on both the top and bottom.

I was surprised, so I contacted Weber customer service about the rust on the stainless steel bars. They explained, and I quote:

"The flavorizer bars will rust within the first year of use. This is normal due to the amount of abuse they take protecting the burner tubes. We recommend that you replace the bars once they break or fall apart. I would suggest rotating the bars for a longer longevity."

Fine. No problem. Based on Weber's recommendation, I assume the flavorizer bars are still doing their job, even if rusty. However, I now believe I was too hasty in replacing my old bars. And, when it's time to replace the stainless steel bars, I may just replace them with the less expensive porcelain enameled bars.

These are not cheap, but they are very heavy and will last a long time.

A little tip while replacing my old ones, I noticed that only one was really worn, the other four were in good shape; so rotating the most worn bar to a different position (before significant wear) would enable the set to last longer.

I just got my stainless steel flavorizer bars through craigslist, like another reviewer suggested. If you go to craigslist (for San Francisco area), you'll find this email: sale-xxppw-2368277637@craigslist.org. I sent my email, and got my bars a couple of days later. Fulfillment was almost instantaneous. $28 + $9 shipping. The gauge of stainless steel is also slightly thicker than the standard. Can't do much better than that. It's great to find someone willing to provide replacement parts where you aren't getting taken advantage of by a manufacturer.

They came without the handles to hold on to even though there were instructions on how to put them on. I tried to contact the seller at the email address provided but no response. I made my own wooden handles. Also the legs were bent upon arrival. I was worried but the steel was thin enough that I easily bent them back into place. Of course this means they will bend again just as easily. All in all a fun gag type gift, just a little disappointing.

This warming rack fits the Weber Q300 model perfectly!

I own a Weber Q300 built in 2005 and wanted a warming rack like my father has on his Weber Genesis.

I found this one and was leery of buying it for my Q300 based on some reviews on here stating that it wouldn't fit correctly, but I bought it anyway based on information I found in several places that stated that this warming rack would, in fact, fit all models of the Q300 series with no issues.

I got it in the mail and installed it in the grille immediately. It mounts just the same as it does on the Q320 pictured and without any interference from the grill's lid.

I have several pictures to prove this that I will upload sometime soon to help confirm that this is a good purchase for other Q300 owners.

I've used it extensively and must say it works quite well to toast the buns when I am making burgers or to slightly undercook vegetable skewers for when I'm feeling like some vegetables cooked on the crunchier side.

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that I wish the back bar that runs behind the bottom part of the rack was either lower in height or supplemented with another bar. With the design as it is, I have a difficult time turning buns on the rack as they wish to slide under that bar and onto the surface of the grille. This is a minor complaint, though.

Bottom line:

Fits the Q300 perfectly, don't believe other reviews.

Almost perfect for everything for which I want to use it.

Works great! The cheese doesn't run out of the pepper halves the way I used to cook them (sliced lengthwise). The corer makes this so simple. The only drawback is cleaning. Directions say NOT to put in the dishwasher. It's not terrible to clean when used on the gas grill, but the smoker is a different story, hence only 4 stars. I think I'll try rubbing it with oil prior to using next time. Makes Great jalapeno poppers.

I had seen similar racks in use on a trip to the southwest and was going to purchase one in a shop. My host commented that She had gotten hers from Amazon for half the cost and I would not have the inconvenience of packing the rack for the trip home.

She was right This rack is well made of stainless steel, durable, and has the added advantage of coming with a tool to core the seeds from the peppers. I made some jalapeno poppers, and some hot hungarian peppers on the grill last night and this rack worked as advertised. This rack would probably also work with banana peppers or any similar shaped pepper. Holds the peppers upright and allows the heat to roast the pepper evenly in about a half hour on a Weber with the lid closed (Grill was already hot from other grilling). I barbecued pork steaks and when I put them in the roasting pan of sauce to tenderize, I started the peppers. By the time I had them cleaned, stuffed, and cooked the meat was also ready to serve. The rack also functions as a work stand while stuffing the peppers!

Bought this for $9.99 at HomeGoods the other day...thought it was a little unnecessary, BUT we all love this and it makes just enough for our family of 5 right now...looking to get another for my son's school bbq basket to be raffled to raise money for the school...may have to go back to HomeGoods, but if not will be coming back here as it's that great! I used this for a family get-together to make sliders. Unfortunately, after we had finished eating and I went to wash the slider holder, I saw that the black paint had BUBBLED off throughout the holder, right where the sliders were, onto the meat we ate. Whatever paint was left on the holder had a rough chipped feeling and the paint edges were lifting off the metal. This was beyond disgusting. It should not have passed quality control. It was also made in China, so who knows what was in the paint we swallowed.

After pressing the burgers, it's hard to get them out. We placed a fork underneath the burger in the mold in order to lift and preserve the burger shape.

I have looked for quite a while for replacement gratings for my charcoal grill insert on my enclosed back porch without much luck. I purchase two of these cast iron grids even though they were designed for gas grills. I had to shave one side down a bit with my angle grinder to make it fit, then seasoned them and grilled some New York strips to perfection with beautiful grill marks. I am very pleased and these grates should last for many years.

BTW, if you have never tried steak the way the gaucho's in South America prepare them, you are missing a great dining experience. Simply coat both sides of your steak, (at least 1" thick steak, preferably 1-1/2" thick), with ice cream salt for twenty minutes, rinse and dry thoroughly, sprinkle with your favorite season, (black pepper, steak season, etc.) and grill to your taste. As always, it is imperative that you begin the process with a quality cut of meat. You may very well decide that you do not want a steak prepared any other way.

Got this yesterday. Had it for maybe 30 minutes before it cracked down the middle stirring grains in a pot (home brewing beer). The wood is super lightweight which would be great if the product wasn't designed to stir things in a pot...which it should be. Now I have $15 worth of kindling. Look elsewhere and get a stronger paddle if you want to stir anything but water. Buyer beware.

I got this stir paddle to use for a pretty good sized boil for about 16 people over Memorial day weekend. Upon receiving it, all edges were smooth and the wood seemed of good quality, though soft. Which leads to a couple "issues": Is there a cooking paddle made of hard wood out there? I'm not willing to seal this...it's used for cooking. Will it eventually become saturated with seasoning and cross-flavor the next cook? Regardless, it's a great product that's cheap enough to buy a few and replenish when necessary. If you like to do low country boils or big pot cooking, this is a fabulous tool that is fun to use.

This does the job well and was reasonably priced.

Not at all impressed with the Nest. Bought an Egg and a Nest for my husband for his birthday. Transferring the Egg to the Nest was very difficult because of the weight of the Egg. Trying to center the Egg in the Nest so the vent was not in the way of the "arms" of the Nest was a pain and the rubber thingies that slide on top of the "arms" kept popping off. Not a great design. Can't wait to put the Egg into a more stable location.
