About every 2 years(almost like clockwork) I have to replace my ignitor. It was explained to me by hvac tech that the primary reasons for the ignitor cracking is from dust and or lint. I was asked if my furnace was near where I do laundry, as my furnace is. Another thing to be said is when handling ignitor Do NOT touch the ignitor material with fingers as oils from hands will cause it to fail.

Every time I've purchased one they have always been slightly different in size. As long as it's been 120v version it's worked though. This came with it's own mounting bracket which I did not use, I reused the mount that was already there. The packaging is good and I will be buying another as a backup for when this one fails, as you may know, it's always the wrong time of year when they fail and suddenly the house starts it's downward spiral into being uncomfortably cold. So take my word, after buying one and figuring out it works buy another. Always have one as a backup so you don't have to wait 5 days for a new one to ship.

As for install, I wouldn't consider myself mechanically inclined but this is an easy do it yourself install. All that is needed is patience and steady hands and a good lit working area and it will come easy. Just take care not to bump into all the tiny existing wires everywhere. Also inside my furnace, removal and replacement of a heatshield type plate was nessecary to access the ignitor(early 1990 robertshaw/ruud furnace), and before I did swap I delicatly vacuumed dust out of where I could get to, I'm sure a full detailed cleaning is best left to professional though. The bolt did not stay in the handle because they were too small and there were no nuts to attach it with either. No instructions did not help. Had to go to hardware store and purchase washers and nuts to make it work.

Great fit! Not advertised by weber to fit the 100 series or the Q rolling cart, but it does. Fits a little loose so it's very easy to remove and put back on with little effort or adjustment. I bought this for my Weber Q 220 and was worried due to several reviews here I had read about the mesh vent on top. I had found a few newer ones stating they had received a newer design which omitted the vent so I took the plunge and was relieved to find that Weber has in fact removed the vent. The build of this cover is very heavy duty feeling and fits great on my grill which I have on the Weber mobile cart. If the mesh was your worry don't hesitate to buy this product.

Nice cover, but the mesh opening on the top ( I suppose to allow it to breathe) allows water to get inside the cover which fills up the grease pan. Messy to clean up after every rain! Get a top without the holes.

I smoke many types of meat and use my smoker regularly. I need to have an accurate reading or the meat will not cook properly and turn out in an acceptable way. This thermometer is just the ticket. I've worked in restaurants for a major portion of my professional career and being able to calibrate your thermometers is crucial. I will advise everyone out there to NOT BUY A THERMOMETER THAT IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. You'll just be throwing your money away in the long run.

This has an easy to read, large gauge, and is color coded for even easier readings from a distance. Installation is easy and anyone should be able to do it. Many don't know how to calibrate a thermometer. Either boil some water and see if the gauge reads 212 degrees, or fill a glass or bowl with ice, add water to fill it, and then take a reading. It should read just barely above 32 degrees. Adjust and you're done.

The thermometer installed on my smoker was a piece of garbage, and even though I love the smoker, that part was cheap, as is on many outdoor grills and smokers. Save your money in the long run and get one of River Country's ADUSTABLE thermometers. You'll love it!

I was looking at some the remote thermometers, but it seemed like everyone was complaining how well they don't work. I needed something that would work year after year. The large face was the big seller for me as with the color coded sections for easy reading. It sure helps to know the real inside temperature instead of looking how my coals and wood are burning. I use it on my converted frig for smoking. The hardest part of installing it was using my dull drill bit to get hole going. This should help me to keep the temp down when I next attempt cold smoking some antelope ham.

I've tested it, and the thermometer is definitely accurate. The supplied mounting hardware is plenty sturdy, but one little caveatthe instructions say to drill a 3/8" hole, but it's closer to a 7/16" in order to fit the threads. I'm glad I had a step drill along with my usual bits, but once I got the size right it threaded right in. Overall, definitely recommend this to someone looking for a better thermometer for their smoker.

I recently got a Char-Griller Duo #5050 with side firebox for a Father's day gift and was looking for an appropriate cover. Char-Griller has one specifically for this model (including slots for the smoke vents) but from the reviews it didn't seem to be of good quality. Given the overall size of the grill, there weren't many other options so I tried this one instead. So far it has held up very well and fits perfectly both over the main grills -andthe firebox. It certainly has a 'heavy' feel to it and while I have had it only a few months now, it seems as though it will hold up well agains the elements (though I will reserve judgement until it goes through it's first Michigan winter!). Overall, I mostly just wanted to post this in case other #5050 owners were unsure (like me) whether it would fit well or not: it does!

I have an 80" grill and large covers are sometimes hard to find. A little over 3 yrs ago I purchase a cover from the cover store. It had a 3 yr warranty and cost over twice as much as this cover. In 3 yrs and 3 months it was torn in several places but the warranty had expired. I looked for something different that was a heavier material. This cover is it. It is much heavier than my previous cover and the cost is a great value. I highly recommend it.

The grill cover seems to be made of quality, durable material and it fits over the grill nicely. But after 3 days of exposure to direct sunlight in summer days in the upper 90's the undercoating stuck to the grill and peeled off of the cover everywhere it made contact with the grill when I uncovered the grill. It seems that the black cover gets so hot in direct sunlight that it causes the undercoating to get sticky enough to adhear itself to the grill.

I like the cover but now I know that perhaps placing a bed sheet or light blanket over the grill before covering it may prevent the undercoating from sticking to the grill.

A great cooking tool!

I bought the Charcoal Companion to use as a press to make paninis in my 7-inch cast iron, ridged, grill pan. The ridged, heavy-weight size, press had been dificult to find to fit my small skillet, so I was excited to try it when it arrived! I decided to make a paninii of left over chicken that day. Much to my surprise, it would not make the browned ridges I desired but only squashed the panini. I thought about it and realized the grill press was not hot when it contacted the bread. I have an induction cooktop so decided to see if it would heat the ridged press. It did! I put the grill press on one burner, heated my ridged cast iron pan on another burner. When I decided the temperature was right (I heated on No. 7 on my cooktop) I placed the panini in my skillet, then placed the grill on top. Viola! It produced a perfect ridged panini.

I did brush the grill press with oilive oil before placing on my burner, the same as I did my cast iron skillet. I lightly buttered both outsides of my sandwich. This gave a me an authentic panini.

I do not use regular white or wheat bread. I use french, baguette or aritisan bread from my supermarke I slice myself. I don' think regular sliced bread would hold up to this procedure.

I purchased this along with a different press to use making bacon on an oblong antique cast iron griddle. My family initially thought this was kind of a goofy, frivolous purchase but they have been amazed at how much better the bacon is using this. It makes it nice and flat and more uniformly cooks it without as many "rare" fat spots. If you prefer the rare spots you simply would cook the bacon for a shorter time. I think it shortens cooking time somewhat by holding heat on the top of the meat. The bottom of this is cast with ridges about 3/16" tall, spaced about 5/8" apart. I've discovered that this makes it great for doing tube meat like hot dogs and sausages. You can use the press to cook along the whole length all the way around by placing the meat parallel to and between the ridges. I've also used it for frying cornbread and get a much more uniform cooking of it than I used to. I've only had it now for a few weeks but I'm sure I'll think of many more uses for it. There are other presses that weigh more but the weight of this has proven sufficient for any use to which I have put it. The seasoning appears to be good as so far I've had no issues with it sticking. The casting is of good quality with a pretty smooth surface and no flaws.

The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is that you have to be careful with the ends of the handle. The wood handle is long enough to easily handle the hot press, safely avoiding the posts to which it is mounted. However a few times while holding the press to adjust my meat my hand has come in contact with the top of the posts (the handle is mounted between them). The press hasn't been hot enough to create a burn on my hand but it's an uncomfortable moment nonetheless. I usually just wipe my cast iron cooking tools with a paper towel between uses so haven't tried washing this. The ridges might create a bit of a challenge but I can't think of why you might get food stuck to the bottom to necessitate this. Regardless I think this slight risk is worth the extra utility of having the ridges. I looked at a number of these but was restricted in size by the flat area of the griddle. I was concerned that this wouldn't cover all my bacon but before my other press arrived I used only this one switching it from end to end. With bacon this worked about as well as having 2 presses.

I use this Grill Press almost daily. The amount of time and frustration that I save is amazing. Ever feel like you have been through a wrestling tournament after cooking a little bacon, keeping it curling UP, and getting them to even almost evenly cooked? I love how with this press I can cook my bacon, sausage and many other things slowly which seems to get better results and allows me the time to pay attention to the other things that I am preparing and cooking, making it easy to have everything done at about the same Time. I don't know if this grill press is the best out there. It's the first I've owned. I can say it's been a pleasant surprise. It's hefty, solid and has large surface area. It works great to flatten bacon, and speeds up cooking burgers. It fits well in a large pan or cast iron skillet. Today I needed to press the water out of some tofu to fry it, and the grill press is perfect for it. I think this is the kind of item that will have more and more uses as time goes by.

My only complaint, the handle is on a screw, and loosens from time-to-time, requiring a few turns of a screwdriver to tighten back up. Otherwise I like and recommend this press.

Solid product.... much more so then others like it. The only problem is that the 6 areas for grilling are not large enough. The unit cannot handle the thickness of my burgers (not that thick), because it has a fixed clamping mechanism that doesn't expand. Also each area has a tapered edge that squeezes all but the smallest diameter burger. I find myself using it mostly for chicken, little burgers or vegetables, but not my standard meal time burger. It is still a great product to have if you grill and for the price, if you end up hating it, you won't be too upset.

Loved the way that this cover fit with smoker box. Black color faded quickly which doesn't bother me but today (less than two months after purchase) I was pulling the cover off and it started ripping in a spot that was thin from sun wear. Nice fit but it faded to almost white by the end of one grilling season(a few months). Then we noticed a tear on top, like it just split or something. It wasn't near a seem or anything and didn't occur while removing or putting the cover on the grill.

Simply putthis cover is not weather resistant and isn't worth the money.. Water seeps through and internal components begin to corrode. I'm on my second on and will not buy a 3rd.

If it lasts through summer, it will not last through the winter.

Its almost as if this was designed not to protect your grill from the elements, but merely to keep it clean between uses.

They are guaranteed to rip at the sleeves for the exhaust vents. You can bet on that.

Was disappointed in the quality and durability, and cannot recommend this cover to anyone.

A $6 tarp and some bungee straps are a better deal than this worthless cover.

I purchased the #8080, Duo Grill cover 5 months ago. At 4 months, the cover began to fade to a light gray and the fabric became so brittle that it is impossible to remove the cover without tearing it.

I would expect that the product would last longer than just 5 months and I am very dissatisfied with it's durability and quality.

The company has offered to replace it, but I'm pretty sure it will fall apart again in 4 months unless they have improved the fabric.

My husband likes it as he's a huge Titans fan, but the quality itself is not the greatest. It's very thin and there are tiny little tears all over it already. One of the seams near the velcro on the side has ripped almost completely up, I'm assuming by the wind, even after being secured in place. It's likely this will only make it through the summer and I'll have to go back and buy a heavy duty one for the winter months.

I bought one of these at our local " Home Goods" store. I had made hamburgers with my hands for 45 years and wasn't at all sure i needed another gadget to store and wash. Well let me tell you, i did! The burgers come out exactly the same size and thickness so they all cook uniformly! Also, the little rings formed by the press help them to cook faster, so they don't dry out. Just try this silly thing and you will know what i mean. It is great!

My daughter had dinner with us one evening and decided she had to have one too. I couldnt find one here anymore, but lo and behold Amazon came to the rescue! Not only that, but Amazon had it cheaper!

This burger press is a great help to make consistent size burgers. After grilling the burgers size is slightly larger than the buns, exactly the way I like my burgers. I use 150g minced beef per burger. The press automatically creates a dent in the center to prevent the patties from shrinking to a dome. Buy this if you are very particular about the size of your burgers.

Nice item if all you grill are the store bought 'packaged' flat pre-made small hamburgers. However not good if you make your own 'gourmet' 1/4 pounders, to small, also not good if you like cheeseburgers, can't use. Handle should be shorter, no need for the length it is now, as it makes the unit much to heavy. Would have been simple to design the unit so that one side could have been removed during cooking so that cheese could be added to the nearly finished hamburger and also to allow the unit to hold larger hamburgers. Sounded like a good idea, but a waste of money for a serious griller.

It is perfect for those frozen 1/4 lb hockey puck burgers, but it is way too thin for a real 1/3 or 1/2 lb burger. The picture on the packaging shows a 1-1/2" thick stuffed burger. There is no way such a piece of meat can fit in this thing! Totally false advertising, but if you saw this in a store that would be very apparent.

So I modified it by cutting off the wire acting as a hinge and added my own which allowed more room between the top and bottom. I then fashioned a new clip (which holds the pieces closed) that allows more room. Now my 1/2 lb turkey burgers fit perfectly. And thinner stuff will still work just fine.

Took me < 10 minutes. I am annoyed I had to re-engineer something that should have been engineered correctly to begin with.

Now I just put in my patties and place it so the side attached to the handle is up. Flip the whole over when appropriate, wait a few minutes and then open it up, flipping the top half (the one without the handle) under the handle half. Now I can put on my cheese and close the bbq lid to let it melt.

Burgers tend to stick, separate and fall through the grids on my grill. This device is 100% successful at preventing that event. Its worst feature is the combination of a long handle with a short grasping area. One needs a strong grip and a hot pad to reduce the risk of a bare handed grab of the hot forward part of the handle when removing it from the heat. So, it works well but burns the hand of the first time user. But not the second time!

We are glad to have found this. Have used it twice and it works like a charm. So nice that the burgers don't stick to the grill or end up sliding off into the fire. True, this is not feasible for quarter pounders, but for regular size burgers, it works perfectly.
