This is a convenient grilling accessory that can be stored in the grill due to the removable handle. Excellent results with fish and veggies. Very easy to clean Teflon. Will be used often when we are finally outta here cruising. By all means escape ASAP but not without one of these.

Uh oh....had to edit review down to two stars after some use of it.

The Teflon completely burned off. We had used it about 6-8 times. Also, it warped from the heat.

We keep the heat as low a setting as it will allow. Water spray bottle continuously....to cool, which is a nuisance.

This is not working out favorably. Grill is less than a year old.

I took a chance when I bought these as there was one great and one terrible review... Sadly it was the terrible review that was the correct one.

I have a pair of Wells-Lamont mitts that are at least 8 years old which have been fantastic... They are starting to wear out and unfortunately Wells Lamont no longer makes them.. I do a lot of cooking and baking above 400F so need heavy mitts that can take high temperatures.

These are useless. The 1st time I tried them a sheet pan got too hot to handle within seconds. The mitts look okay but are far too thin to be useful..

This is what I needed and seems to be good quality.

It was hard to tell from the description (here at Amazon and other web sites) if the connectors on this hose were correct for my needs and how it attaches. I ordered it anyway and luckily it is what I needed to connect a propane tank (the type that is normally used for an outdoor grill) to my 25-year old 2-burner Coleman camp stove. One end of this hose has the same connector you find at the top of the small 16oz Coleman propane cylinders -so it attaches to the metal tube connector that normally goes between a 16oz cylinder and the stove. The other end of this hose attaches to larger propane tanks like the new one I just bought. I don't know what a 20# tank is, but mine is like 3 gallons in size -the usual kind that people use for outdoor grills. I found out, however, that it does not fit the quick-release connection that I have on a different propane tank that came with my Weber grill. I'll have to see if there's a (quick release) adapter available so that I can use this hose with that other propane tank also.

Bought this for my portable Weber 386002 Q 100 Portable Propane Gas Grill; works perfectly with 20lb propane tanks.

Works like a charm, but CAUTION: If you plan on disconnecting the 20lb tank with the hose, you may receive some propane blow off. THIS IS OK! It is just the build up within the 5 foot hose.

HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE:

Towards (or at) the end of cooking, close the propane nossel to off while keeping the grill turned on high. This will burn off all the leftover propane in the line. I usually turn it off within 3 minutes left of cooking as to not waste it; sometimes it'll continue burning, slower and slower, for 5 minutes after.

This thing is nicely designed and built. Just to emphasize what others have already said it connects the 20 pound propane tank to the regulator on the stove. *It does not connect directly to the stove you still need a regulator!* The regulators on the newer stoves are on metal tubes with 45 degree angles, the regulators on the older stoves are on rubber tubes.

It makes so much more sense to use a refillable big propane tank than to dump those little empties in the land fill.

EXPERIENCE: The only problem that I have with Coleman, is that most of their propane gear is designed to use the small propane cylinders. This forces us to spend $25.00 on a high pressure hose adapter. And Coleman knows that you are going to need it, as you can't run a stove for very long on a 16-OZ propane cylinder. I guess for most of you that go camping, wouldn't need this at all. But for those of us using this at home, you need this to hookup to your 20-gallon tank.

I have not had any problem at all with this hose adapter. However, I feel the need to put a warning out there for you folks. This side of the hose which attaches to your propane tank, does not use right handed threads! You must rotate it counter clockwise, to get it to attach to your tank. Get it tight, but not too tight either!

The hose has a nice 5-foot length to it, so this way you can keep your propane tank a good distance away from the stove, I like that. The other end of the hose attaches to your stove via right handed threads, so just go clockwise with that one. I don't even need to open the valve on my propane tank all the way, just one turn is enough.

The stove uses a fixed regulator setting, so no adjustment is necessary. All I have to do, is hold the flame of my barbecue lighter up to the burners, and then open the valves. They ignite almost instantaneously, and then I can began cooking my food. I have had 0 issues with pressure flow, so I believe this hose to be a quality piece.

CONCLUSION: You may not need this hose adapter if you are going on camping trips. However, if you plan to use this at home, you probably should consider getting one. I have had 0-issues with this hose, and I highly recommend it. 5-STARS

After almost a year of using my BGE I realized that I have to replace the gasket on the lid rim. I bought the standard BGE gasket kit, applied it with the 3M spray, and it seemed ok. But as my skills grew I started getting into higher heat cooking for steaks and chops, and noticed that the standard gasket was quickly shredding. In fact the inward sides were literally burned off. I decided to take a chance on this product, even though it is a bit more expensive and WOW it is tons better. Made out of Nomex --that just makes sense. It installed the same way the regular gasket did but wears much better and doesn't disintegrate with high heat. I wouldn't get any other kind of gasket liner.

I fried my factory gasket.

Bought this as a replacement. I hope I don't need to replace in a while cause the process itself was a pain in the butt, but for the most part, this seems to be holding up WAY better than my original BGE Gasket.

The gasket is definitely better than the one that comes standard. Having to disassemble the lid in order to replace the gasket was a chore, but there's no way around this step. Haven't done pizza yet, so I don't know how truly "fire retardant" the gasket actually is. If you've singed off your OEM gasket, I'd go with this one as a replacement.

This is a very solid cutter with plenty of heft and rigidity. The steel nearest the handle is fairly thick and tapers down slightly toward the cutting edge. This makes for a substantial blade and there is little or no flex when pressing down to make cuts. The handle is firmly attached and has some cushioning resulting in a very comfortable grip. The length will require several cuts along each axis for larger pizzas but this can be done quickly and cleanly. It arrived with a cutting edge about as sharp as that found on a pair of child's scissors and I chose to sharpen mine on a bench stone which has improved its performance. Overall, I like this cutter a lot and expect to get many years of trouble free service out of it.

I had one of the other tools from this company, and it was very nice, wood handle, seemingly good construction, looked really good and was reasonable for a nice quality product.

So I purchased 2 of these brushes (one each for my two houses) and two of the replacement brush heads. I was ready to commit to this product :)

So after cooking up a meal on the BBQ, I bust out my rosewood grill brush, and slide it across the grill. I started to notice that some of the brush bristles were falling out all over the grill. I did another slide across the grill. More bristles were falling out. This continued for a third time until about 30% of the bristles had fallen out of this piece of junk. I'm not sure what happened. I'm not sure how they are affixing the bristles, whether it is glue or mechanically (trapping the metal ends somehow) or what...but with a relatively light pressure slide across the grill, this thing totally fell apart. I am not a body builder, and I was not getting angry at the grill here :) I applied the same pressure as I did with the $3.99 all plastic throw away grill brush that this thing was supposed to replace, but on this one, the bristles fell out.

Anyway, I returned this thing which Amazon took back with no issues which is cool.

I looked for another brush but gave up. Now I just use the sharp end of the spatula, or the tongs so I can do 2 sides at once) and scrape the stuff off the grill. I'm using this on Weber Genesis grills from a few year ago that have the ceramic grills. This method takes longer than a brush but probably gets it cleaner.

WalMart was out of my standby lump charcoal so I had to buy this as an alternative. It was $.37/lb more and the 8 lb bag had 2-3 lbs of chips and dust which are unusable. There was also so uncarbonized wood in the bag. Better lump options exist. Do not buy this stuff unless you are in a pinch.

I will mention however, that when I contacted Cowboy and told them about the poor quality of the product, they refunded my money very quickly.

I bought this from a local store and at first was impressed. The bigger pieces are (of course) at the top of the bag. However by the time I got to the bottom 1/3 of the bag I was down to chips and dust. Not very effective for cooking. In fact, I had to halt a slow cook in the middle and reload with better lump charcoal as the small pieces of cowboy were just not holding temperature.

You can buy this stuff for $15 to $20 but bear in mind that you'll basically end up tossing 5-7 lbs because it's mostly chips and dust.

The big chunks that do remain burn well and the flavor of my low and slow barbecue is good. Much better than briquettes, which I stopped using 20 years ago. But I'm looking for better options.

it don't get much simpler ...... just head over to Walmart, Lowes or Hell Depot for a bag of cheap and very good Royal Oak.

I have been using the big green egg for about a year now. I have been buying their brand of charcoal and it is quite expensive.

I thought I would try Cowboy charcoal, it cheaper and I thought, "how much different could charcoal be?" let me tell you, it's not worth the few dollars you save. No matter how much I warm up the grill I can't get this stuff over 500 degrees. I have added more, let it catch and still nothing. With the green egg charcoal it would get to 700 in a heartbeat.

The bags also had a ton of dust and strange pieces of scrap in them.

Spend the few extra bucks on premium charcoal (I have never used any other than green egg).

For the price, I think this cover is fantastic. It fits my grill well and cinches at the bottom to keep out dirt, dust and water. I do not use my grill often, but this cover is great between uses. I like the it is not obtrusive and looks nice on the patio. Even though the grill is a bit smaller than the maximum size; it does not look like it is drowning in the cover. This is a great basic cover and I would not want to buy anything else for the price and function.

Cheap Bayou Classic 0-30 PSI Adjustible Regulator/Hose Assembely

I bought 2 of these and put them on my Bayou Classic SP2 double jet burners. HUGE improvement over the 20 psi regulators that came on them. (I think SP2 burners now come standrad with this regulator).

I used them for the first time this past weekend on a 1000 pound crawfish boil and they were the workhorses, tremendously out-performed the 5 other single jet burners. Please note: when firing these regulators up, be sure to slowly turn on the propane tank valve first, then slowly turn on the regulator. When you turn it off, you must turn off the propane tank valve first, then turn off the regulator. If you don't do it in this order, it will likely activate the safety gas flow devices in the tank and/or the regulator and you will have a small, useless flame.

EDIT 6/11/2013. I have found that if you run these regulators at the full wide open setting, the safety shut off valve will activate randomly, resulting in a puny, worthless flame. When this happens, you have to shut off the tank, then shut off the regulator, then dettach the gas line from the tank. This resets the valve and you are ready to go again. If you don't run the regulator at full wide open, this does not happen. When this first happened, I got a warranty replacement from Bayou Classic, but the replacement regulator/hose also had this issue. So now, in order to avoid the hassel of resetting the valve, I run the gas flow at about 3/4 wide open.

Getting the higher pressure 30 psi regulator and having to limit its gas flow is almost defeating the purpose of upgrading from the 20 psi regulator. If I had it to do over again, I would have probably just kept and used my 20 psi regulators which never gave me any issues.

This is a pretty well made regulator, but not nearly as good as what you might buy down at a welding shop for 3 times the price. 0n the other hand, it is far better suited for putting on a home grill than the cheap non-adjustable regulators that typically come with the grill or that you buy as replacements.

I have a 15 year old stainless grill with ceramic parts that last forever, but the the three cast iron burners keep burning/rusting out. Even with brand new burners in it, it would barely heat up the grill, and if you turned on more than one burner, the flames got even lower. Even with new burners, it was pretty much a useless device on the back porch, due to the low flame.

I did all the "reset the safety valve" procedures, but nothing helped. I determined that the regulator was not delivering enough gas, but I did not know what the proper pressure for that particular 3 burner setup was, so I decided to get an adjustable regulator with more than just 10lbs of pressure. 2 days later (yes, speedy delivery from Amazon Prime), I got the new regulator. It was exactly as described except that it requires a 3/4in wrench for the fitting.

Once hooked up, it was an amazing difference. Better than new, the regulator allows you to much greater flame adjustment than the regular valves. The regulation is very smooth and predictable; considerably better than some air pressure regulators I have purchased. If you want a really hot flame for grilling steaks fast, just dial in a bit more pressure and you have all the heat you could wish for. Tiny flame to just keep it warm? Turn it back down. The variation in the flame size is much greater now than when the grill was brand new. One or three burners makes no difference now, the regulator seems to give consistent pressure at different flow rates.

Please keep in mind that if you have no sense whatsoever, it is quite possible to turn the pressure up higher than your burners can mix with air, so the flames will go big and wild inside your grill if you adjust it too high. The flip side of that problem is that your regulator can also be turned down too low to allow it to even light. An untrained/inexperienced grill operator might have big problems if they don't know what the adjustment handle does. Sloppy handling when hooking up a new tank can easily change the pressure setting, too. A lock-down feature of some sort might be a good addition to improve safety; these are present on almost all gas regulators for welding & industrial applications.

My hope is that the regulator will allow me to dial in slightly higher pressures 10 years from now when the diaphragm & spring inside begin to weaken. Not enough gas? Turn up the pressure!

I bought this to use on my propane SMOKER for better/easier flame adjustment. Factory preset regulators are set to 20 pounds of pressure, this let's you operate from "0" to 30 lbs. My smoker valve changes the flame too much with only a slight turn. This allows me to change flame as little or greatly as needed. The trick is to have smoker control set to high, then regulate the flame by this unit.

I have been looking for a bigger, better grill for some time. I found this one and liked its features and size. I especially liked the cast iron grills and the charcoal tray that can move up and down. The mechanism that does it is also pretty bulletproof.That will make my controlling the heat to the food much easier. My wife even found reviews at different sites and they were all positive. I put my money down on this and it got sent over. While I was building it I noticed that there was some play in how the parts are put together. I have found this can be a good thing because if something is a little off, all you need is to make a little adjustment and everything will fit. I started building it and found the gauge of the metal to be thinner than I had expected. I have bought grills for ~200 dollars and have gotten the grill made of thicker steel. The grill is slightly bent where the grills are supposed to be. Not enough for me to send it back or for other people to see it but it is still there. The other thing I noticed while I was building it was the paint is easy to scratch. I was building it on my patio so I can find any parts that I had dropped; I am not always the most coordinated. I soon switched to the lawn when I noticed how much I was scratching the paint. I will update after I make my first meal.
