Purchased this grill after doing a lot of research and reading reviews online. I found many positive reviews of the Broil King line of grills, but none on this specific model. I don't normally bother writing reviews, positive or negative on the products I buy, but I felt compelled to in this case. First I would have to say the quality of the grill is very good. It's better than the basic Webbers you find in the big box stores and maybe juts under the higher end Webber Genesis that cost $800 and up. After seeing grills that I have purchased in the past for $300-$450, fall apart after a few years, I was debating buying the cheapest grill I could find and plan on replacing it every other year or buy a higher quality grill that will last 5 to 10 years. Time will tell if I made the right choice as far as longevity is concerned. But having used the grill for the past three weeks, here is what I think so far:

The grill is built to perform, heats fast, up to 600F in about 10 minutes and temp control is great

The stainless steel grates are very heavy duty solid stainless steel

The back burner works great with the rotisserie cooked two chickens at the same time, they came out perfect!

You do have to take the warming rack off to use the rotisserie, would be nice if you did not have to, but not a big deal

The warming rack is very large

The stainless steel shelf's are very large and fold down very easily

The base is made of plastic, some may think that a bad thing, but I like that design as that is the first place other grills have rusted.. Again, time will tell..

The doors have plastic top and bottom caps with stainless steel fronts and powder coated backs.. Not sure I like the plastic caps for durability, but they look good.

The sides and back are also powder coated steel, kind of thin, this would seem to be a bit of a weak point, we will see how they hold up. They are black, so if they rust, at least they can be painted..

So now for a word of caution: I was a bit concerned about buying something as heavy as a grill and having it shipped UPS. The concern was well founded, the box was pretty beat up and there was damage to one of the stainless steel shelf's, the pins on the top of the doors were both broke and the handle had a scratch.

The good news is that the Broil King and Amazon both stepped up and made it right. Amazon offered to take the grill back, they would have sent a new one, but they were on back order. Since I did not want to send it back, they offered to apply a partial refund to my credit card. Broil King sent me new parts, no hassle, I told them what I needed and they sent it no charge.

I'm very satisfied with the customer service and the grill is great!

I am 57 years old and have gone through more gas grills than I can remember. Needing another I began to research grills in the $1000.00 range because I figured that, in the past, I was just getting what I paid for. I came upon the Broil King and read nothing but good things about them. The Sovereign 70 had the features I valued so I then searched for the best price. I found that Amazon offered it lower by far than anywhere else. I ordered and it shipped in good time. It was damaged in a couple of places but a call to Amazon and replacement parts were on the way. Fortunately, the damage did not prevent it's assembly. Assembly was fairly easy. An hour or so. All essential components are of high quality especially the stainless cooking grids. Massive! Ditto with the stainless steel burners, huge. I have used it several tines and will say unequivocally it's the hottest grill I ever used. Steaks are charred perfectly. I love it! I was a bit miffed with the damage but all was forgiven after cooking with this grill. I'm only sorry I waited so long to buy a decent grill. By the way Broil King customer service was top notch as well.

This is everything you could want from a BBQ in this price range. It is solidly built, all parts are hi quality and, maybe most importantly, the grilling grids are solid stainless steel. My only criticism is the assembly. Be aware ... this is a serious DIY package. It wouldn't be so bad if the assembly manual were more helpful. The entire (yes, entire) manual is done in pictures ... no words of explanation. That said, the pictures are done well and I was able to assemble the unit with only a few minor missteps; but some words of explanation would have been helpful.

Shipping from Amazon was faster than expected and delivery of this very heavy carton to my garage was without question although the garage is located quite some distance from the road.

Bottom line is that I would recommend this to anyone with some home handyman/woman skill. It is a great unit.

Honest reviews on Broil King 987734 Sovereign 70 Liquid Propane Gas Grill with Rear

I have owned my fair share of grills, cheap Char Broils, a Weber Genesis, a Vermont Castings, a Holland, a Ducane (before Weber bought them!), you name it. I wanted a new grill for this season (probably didn't need it, but whatever), and was torn between a Napoleon and a Broilmaster. Both around a grand or so, and I figured I'd keep this one for a while. I was about to order the Napoleon here from Amazon, and then I ran across this Broil King. Same features, not quite as pretty, but better heat, surface area, etc., for a few hundred bucks less. Researched Broil King for a bit, and found great reviews main thing was they get hot fast, which I like for my steaks. Came back to Amazon, and they had this thing on special for 400 bucks. Had to pull the trigger. Not disappointed fired it up, and hot is an understatement. This thing gets HOT!! Pegged the thermometer at over 700 deg in 10 mins. Seared the heck out of some steaks never looking back. Buy it!

After quite a bit of research, I decided on this grill. It is an great value. All the cooking components (burners, firebox, knobs, lighter) are of excellent quality and function well. The cooking size is not small, but not so big to take up the entire deck. The three burners can put out a _lot_ of heat, and provide great temperature control. It heats up to over 700 degrees F in only ten minutes. The aluminum firebox is great at retaining heat. The rotisserie is strong and a great inclusion at this price point. I can't comment yet on durability as I've had it only a couple of months, but it seems a well-built unit. I expect the aluminum firebox to last a long time. It was delivered on a pallet by a trucking company with no damage. I think earlier Amazon was shipping via UPS. That is a funny as the box is really heavy. I love that the stainless side tables can both fold down. The warming tray is large and useful, but must be removed to use the rotisserie. Not a big deal as it is easy to pop in and out. This is a one great cooking grill. I'd say it has average or better flare-up performance. Bottom of base is plastic to prevent rusting, sounds funny but works well.

Pros:

1) Unbeatable value at this price for the cooking quality and durability of internals

2) Great heat output and control

3) Stainless steel cooking grates are maintenance-free, massive thickness, and retain heat very well. Easy to put grill marks on the steak

4) Great size

5) Not that it matters for cooking, but it is a good-looking grill

A few minor reservations:

1) Base panels are bit flimsy and may be prone to rust in the future. At least they'll be paintable.

2) Assembling a couple of the bolts is tough due to limited accessibility. A socket set is highly recommended over a crescent wrench. Assembly instructions are pictures only, and require some attention to follow. Fortunately , it comes with all the main burner components pre-assembled. Assembly took a couple of hours total.

3) Action of the two front doors seems odd (you need to lift up on door to open). It works as is, but feels a bit strange.

I spent about an hour trying to get this gauge to work and notified the company that I wanted to return it. The original instructions are to "Pump the gauge 4-6 times to obtain gas flow..." This did nothing and I was about to return the gauge when they sent me a note advising to "push down on the dial of the gauge...." This set everything in order and I am keeping the gauge. If the instructions were better, I would rate it 5 stars. I may buy another from Amazon.

This is the 2nd of these guages that we have ordered. They make any item that needs a propane tank so much easier to deal with. You never have to worry about running out of propane before the meal is cooked, or whatever you are using the guage for. Great, simple idea that makes life easier! Great company to deal with also. They made sure I got my item in time for the birthday present it was intended for. Thank you!

I've owned a Weber Summit S-470 for about 2 months my first gas grill. Grilling is easier and more delicious than I ever imagined. I did a lot of research before I bought it, so here is what you need to know if you're new to gas grills, new to Weber, or new to the Summit line:

1) Weber sells most of the gas grills sold in America. Their customer service is legendary. Go hit up their website and look at their warranty info. 25 years, no questions asked replacements on some parts, like the grill hood; 2 years replacement even on high wear items like the burners. There are people grilling away happily on 30 year old Weber gas grills without any problems; so definitely take into account that the warranty and customer service is part of what you're paying for.

2) The S-470 is mostly stainless steel. There is stainless and stainless; to keep their pricepoint, in 2008 Weber switched from grade 304 stainless to grade 420. People in demanding environments (humidity, etc) find that the 420 doesn't hold up quite as well to the elements. You can buy a lower-end, yet feature-identical grill for a similar price in the 'enameled' (E-XXX) series; but when they rust out, you'll need to replace the panel. I think my grill looks great and has held up great so far; time will tell.

3) The grill grates are thick 9.5 mm stainless steel rods. They can be scoured with a brass bristle brush with no fear of damage. The thicker the grate, the more heat transfer into your steakthat is how you get a good sear. These are as thick as they come.

4) The S-470 has a LOT of burner for the cooking area. If you fire up all 4 main burners, the sear burner, the IR burner and the smoker burner, you're putting nearly 70,000 BTU under the hood. The grill will go over 800 degrees on a hot day. That's the other way you get a good sear.

5) The non-IR Weber sear station is just an extra 10,600 BTU burner, sandwiched in between main burners number 2 and 3. It heats up that small middle part of the grill, way hotter than it otherwise would have gotten. Then, when you put your steak down, you get a good sear. There are infrared (IR) sear stations out there in other brands, but they take up a lot of room on the grill grates space you can't use when you're not searing. (For IR only grills, you should know about TEC they have a neat patent, no one else's IR works the way theirs does but now we're talking very expensive equipment that only does one thing, sear with IR, and costs even more than the Summit.) The Weber sear station is great for me you can even sear a whole salmon fillet and it won't stick or fall apart, which I really didn't believe until I tried it.

6) The IR roto burner is something I would not have known to ask for, but now I don't know how I lived without it. It makes the juiciest chicken, with the most delicious skin, that you can ever possibly imagine. In my house it is agreed that the "roto bird" is the best feature of this grill, hands down. A 5 lb bird spins to done in 45-60 minutes.

7) The smoker box is sort of difficult to get good results with and the smoke dirties up the grill. If you want to smoke food low and slow, and you're thinking this grill is going to be just as good as a dedicated smoker unit, you'll be disappointed. If, on the other hand, you want your meats to have just a hint of wood smoke flavor, so they taste like they came off a high-temperature charcoal grill, you can make that happen.

8) Weber makes 3 lower end grill models: the Genesis, the Spirit, and the Ducane Affinity series (branded under the Ducane name, obviously). A sear unit and a non-IR rotisserie unit are planned for the Genesis EP-330 series in 2011, so you are getting close to the S-470 feature set. The only diff between the Spirit and the Ducane (besides price) is that the Ducane is wholly fabbed in China, whereas some assembly of the Spirit is done in the USA.

9) If you're completely new to gas grilling, you will need to first decide on propane versus natural gas. This review is for the propane model. Propane is easier to startup but somewhat more expensive over time, and you need to keep an extra propane bottle around. You will need to take your empties back to Wal-Mart, Home Depot, the gas station or wherever you can swap them out or refill them. On the other hand, you need a gas 'stub' out of your house to use natural gas, and if you don't know what that is, you'd also need pro installation to avoid blowing yourself up. I opted for NG myself because my house had a gas stub ready to go; if it hadn't, I'd've gotten propane.

10) Kebabs, squabs, game hens, whole chickens, lamb, suckling pig, pork butt, pork loin, and any kind of beef or sausage burgers, dogs, brats, Polish, whatever it's all good on the grill. Did I mention fresh corn on the cob?! For your vegan friends: skewers of eggplant, mushrooms, peppers, onions, squash, zucc, and whatever else is garden-fresh will soon become smash hits. Seriously. My buddy actually looked happy to be vegetarian when I served him his plate; he's trying to lose weight, poor soul. A lot of people grill flatbread pizza too; I can't eat wheat so I haven't gone there.

11) Lotta books about grilling out there. Bobby Flay, who is grill crazy, has written like a dozen and I have a few; they're full of good ideas. You won't go wrong at any of his restaurants either. I ran into the guy eating at B+B in Vegas not long ago and sent him a nice bottle of wine to thank him. He's great.

12) Gotta clean your grill. Weber makes a 3 or 4 piece utensil kit as do many others. You need a brass brush, long tongs, and a big spatula. I never use the two-tined grill fork. A wide putty knife also helps for scraping crud out of the drip pan; potholders, heat resistant mitts, and an apron are also useful.

In case it wasn't obvious, this grill is one of the best things ever to happen to me in my eating life. I can't recommend it highly enough. I have no regrets. Whatever you do after reading this review, make sure you go get yourself a gas grill. If you can't afford the new one you want, it's easy to refurb an old Craigslist grill with a little help from Weber customer service the warranty comes with the grill. So pretty much you gotta get one!

I am a regular purchaser on Amazon, use Amazon Prime, but my purchases have been limited to relatively low dollar items. When I went looking for a high-end grill locally, I thought I would check Amazon to see if they sold the one I wanted. There it was for several hundreds less. And with no tax and free shipping, it was a great deal cost-wise. So the final hurdle for me was buying something from Amazon that was almost $2000 and risk problems on my end when it arrived. The two immediate issues are delivery and assembly. If I had bought it locally, the merchant would have taken care of it, for a fee.

Turns out, neither were an issue at all. The shipper Amazon used was top-notch. They delivered within a window and showed up when they said they would. They put the grill exactly where I wanted it on my deck--do not underestimate how big a deal this is. And assembly from the box was surprisingly easy. It took me about 20 minutes.

This is the first natural gas grill I have owned, and I see a clear difference from liquid propane. The grill gets hotter and comes up to temperature faster. If you can go natural, do it.

As far as the grill in general, I am very happy so far. Solid construction. The sear station works as advertised. Along with the high heat of natural gas, you can get that nice crust on the outside of a steak while keeping the inside rare if you want it. The heavy duty grates are key and the "flavorize bars" that cover the flame work well to minimize flame-ups. I like where they put the rotisserie heating element, higher up away from the grates. In other brands, like a WOLF I recently used, the element is immediately behind the grates and can be damaged if you are not careful when cleaning the grate with those standard wire brush/scraper tools.

Will update if anything comes up.

Propane is easier to startup but far costlier over time, and you need to always keep an extra propane bottle around and constantly schlep your empties back to Wal-Mart. An NG grill will actually save you a little money if you use A/C, as you won't be heating the kitchen (and then cooling it again) for your cooks. Won't be getting steak grease on the inside of your kitchen windows either.

Honest reviews on Weber Summit S-470 Stainless-Steel 580-Square-Inch Grill

Positively the best gas grill I have ever owned. I purchased this after extensive research and am not disappointed. My first time out I used the rotisserie but forgot to turn on the dedicated burner and still the chicken came out terrific! There are so many bells and whistles on this unit; I am extremely impressed with the quality of stainless steel cabinet. Everything about this grill is top quality from the drip pan to the tank measurement system. I know that spending $ about $2000.00 for a grill is a bit overkill but I am so sick of buying poor quality products. I really believe that this will be the last grill I will every buy. I did purchase the Summit cover and cleaning brushes which is all part of keeping the unit in new condition.

I'm an avid barbecue fan. I generally grill 3-5 times per week sun, rain, or snow. I live in Vancouver BC, so I get a lot of rain and other weather conditions here. I have learned a lot of lessons over the years.

I bought a different barbecue yesterday after seeing the Weber Summit S-470/670 bbqs. My price range was under $2,000 and the 670 seemed a little too big for my needs, so after reading up on tons of reviews the 470 looked like the best bet. A beautiful shiny bbq.

But the absolute deal breaker for me was this:

The summits have venting gaps. When it rains, water goes into the venting gaps, into the grease tray, and will overflow with water and dump messy nasty grease into your cabinet area. To me this is a huge design flaw and discovered it when reading other forum threads, otherwise I would have missed this. Being in a rainy climate, this is deal breaker. Honestly, how many people really always remember to put the grill cover on? I actually rarely do because of how frequently I grill. In my experience, frequent usage tends to keep it dry and mitigates rust build up. But even fine stainless steel is not rust proof so it is better to cover it when you can. This is a practical world and people are not always perfect.

The other thing I did not like was the cabinets felt a little too thin and flimsy. For this price range, I expect more solid construction.

Finally a side burner is something I use a lot. For breakfast on weekends, I like to cook bacon outside as to not stink up the house. On hot days we cook outside too. But this burner has a lift up cover that gets in the way for all but small pots and pans. I estimate the gap from the edge of the burner to the lid is about 2 inches... so you can situation a small 8" pot/pan centered... but a 12" frying pan won't center (I can't confirm exactly -just winging those measurements).

Given that I am in Canada, I got shown a different brand that is a direct competitor. The Napolean. Webers in Canada cost more, possibly due to duties. The Napoleans in Canada match the prices in America for Webers. I fell in love with it immediately. The knobs have blue backlights that look high tech, and the knobs, and cabinets felt superior in every way. The grill hood on both were effectively equivalent in my opinion.

I purchased the Napolean Prestige Pro 500 RSIB. It is virtually identical in spec to the S-470 and prices are almost the same too. The Napolean has a much better side burner, it is larger, the lid doesn't interfere and it is infrared with a proper grill above it. It is meant to sear steaks at much higher temperatures than conventional burners. The grill has an adjustable height too and is suitable for steaks (most side burners are designed for just pots and pans like a stove).

The one and only thing in my opinion that the Weber had was a nifty rotisserie tuck away system. Basically it just folds into the side tray. The Napolean doesn't have this, so I have to put it away manually. Not a big deal given that the Weber spit and forks need to be manually tucked away in the cabinets too. The Napolean has an covered "ice bucket/cutting board" on the other side shelf. To me it is gimmicky, as who puts iced drinks next to a hot bbq? I might use it for meat marinades. It's just a plastic bin.

Another nice feature with the Napolean is the wavy grill pattern. It's just pretty and makes fancier sear marks on meat. Not something I would use to decide which grill to buy.

My last bbq was a massive Vermont Castings. It was a lovely grill but I learned the hard way that it was too big for my usual needs. The problem is that had all conventional burners, and heating that sucker up used up a lot of propane. If you want to sear steaks you need to heat everything up to max temperature, which included all six burners. At my peak bbq rate, I would burn through a propane tank every two weeks. But now I have a natural gas line, so that's no longer an issue. It is also why I opted for a "normal" sized bbq this time around. This is also why getting a bbq with an infrared burner is so appealing. 1500 degrees without a lengthy ambient temperature prep time. I suspect I'll be grilling most of my steaks on the side burner now.

It was perfect for my BQ and it fit perfectly well but you will need to do some work from your side if you need to bolted to the bottom of the BQ by drilling so you will need some tools otherwise like what I did just let it laying and secure only by the two flexible pipes connected to the burner valve regulator.

Cleans up easily. Seems to have a better surface than the OEM. My steaks have come off the grill better than when the original grill was on the grill. Outstanding quality so far. I grill almost every day. Well worth the money I spent. Very pleased indeed.

Considerably cheaper than the OEM part and fit the grill properly. Seemed to have similar fit/finish to the OEM part.

King Kooker #12WR 12-Slot Leg and Wing Grill Rack for Poultry Review

Being mindful that terminology can change from region to region, and among subcultures, I'll try and describe what I mean by certain terms. To me, a "drumstick" is that part of the chicken associated with the legs. A "drummie" is that small drumstick shaped piece attached to the wing. The wing portion itself is a "flat". The term "wing" refers to the drummie and flat together. Your terminology may vary.

Please keep in mind that King Kooker does not state this is made for "drummies". That was an erroneous assumption on my part.

I bought this rack because I saw an identical (or very similar) product on Amazon that was described as being good for "drummies", but I wanted the chrome version. Wrong! Dummies cannot attach to this rack. You might try balancing them on top or tying them on, but they will not hang upside down as shown in the photos. Those are full-size drumsticks (legs) in the photos. So here is a breakdown of my evaluation of this rack:

Drummies: 1 star (it will not work)

Wing Flats: 4 stars (works good but requires some balancing)

Wings Flats with Drummies attached: 5 stars (works great!)

Drumsticks (legs): 5 stars (works great!)

My solution for the drummies was to get the King Kooker 36JR Stainless-Steel 36-Hole Jalapeno Popper Rack. They fit perfectly in the little holes and I can make 36 drummies at a time. NICE!

Overall, I like King Kooker products. Affordable quality and very easy to clean. Be sure to spray them with cooking spray before cooking and they will clean right up!

This rack really helped cook the drumsticks evenly. I would have given it 5 stars except the drumsticks fit a little too tightly making it a little difficult to apply BBQ sauce. I would definitely recommend this product.

one 'weld' was broken. It was less sturdy than it appeared. I did not want to go through the trouble of returning the item. I may add my own 'weld' before using it again.

The unit I received was poorly welded. The key weld was broken right out of the box. I'm returning it for a replacement. I will update if a good quality product is received and if it works well.

My wife and I enjoy baked potatoes and usually have them once a week, and I am fussy about how they are done. I don't like an underdone (hard) potatoe. I have tried meat thermometers, and an exspensive talking digital thermometer but the probe is too long. The short little Man Law thermometer works just perfect. When cooking more than 1 potatoe and/or potatoes of different sizes these wil make it easier to tell when they are done.

i thought this grill cover wouldn't fit my grill because the width was 22 inches, and the cover was 20 inches, but the other measurements more than make up the difference. it fits great and feels like good quality.

I bought this a while back, almost a year ago to combat beach weather and rust. Not sure how everything is looking underneath but the cover is still in great condition with no holes or cracks. I've gone through many covers, this one is by far the best.

Best Deals for Mintcraft SPC03-123L Vinyl Grill Cover 59" x 20" x 34"

I bought this for my Brinkman grill. Would of liked it to be closer to the ground as it lays about 1.5 ft short. Velvcro straps on side doesn't do much to make a tight fit incase of wind. Vinyl is very light and not good material. One wrong pull and it will tear easy. Next time I will get cover where I got grill for a few dollars more and get a better product!

Honest reviews on Mintcraft SPC03-123L Vinyl Grill Cover 59" x 20" x 34"

The grill cover is simply that--vinyl, that keeps out the rain and bugs. I wasn't looking for more. I am satisfied. But if I had a fancy grill I wouldn't have been.

These inexpensive fire starttes are working well for our charcoal grill. They work better, according to the griller in our family,

than the more expxensive Green Egg ones, which we had been using.

We'll definiteley repurchase these through Amazon. com.

We have a Big Green Egg and were looking for a cheaper alternative to their brand of lump charcoal starters or their electric starter. After looking around and reading a lot of reviews, I decided to give these guys a try. They don't look like they do much, but they work perfectly for getting our lump charcoal going. I like to take a small square and put it on the end of a toothpick then light it and set it in the middle of the grill, surrounded by charcoal. They burn surprisingly hot and long and within minutes the grill is hot enough to use. They are all natural, unlike lighter fluid, and leaves no residue or taste on the food you grill. You get two packs, which will last you a long time. In fact, if you grill once or twice a week, you'll easily have enough for a year of grilling. There is very little to complain about here. They do have a strong, distinct smell, but it isn't like you'll be keeping these things on the middle of your dining table. One of my packs wasn't cut into individual squares, but I won't really complain about that as it only takes a few seconds to grab a knife and slice them up. Bottom line, if your looking for a good, clean charcoal starter, give these guys a shot, I think you will be very pleased with the results.

really liked this product, makes lighting a fire in the wood stove very easy, and no chemicles. will definately be purchasing more. the seller was great too, very fast with the shipping and a fair price.

Honest reviews on Danish Clean Green Firelighters, Non-Toxic Non-Flammable Fire

This product is really interesting, I had used the kerosene wood chips but they gave off a huge amount of smoke and the smell of oil. These fire starters are made from vegetable oil so they aren't flammable or toxic. I've been hearing these are getting more and more popular in Europe (these are from Denmark), makes sense to have them here in the USA as well. Product worked very well, lit a few blocks and they stayed lit for around 10 minutes, more than enough time to get things started. Definitely recommend giving them a try. I tried the Weber fire starters to light my charcoal grill. They work very well with the Weber chimney. I needed some more and decided to try these as the reviews were good and these were much cheaper. I think they work as well as the Weber ones and they are cheaper... what's not to like? And the smell doesn't bother me at all.

These work just as good as the more expensive Silicone Basting Brushes....I don't understand why someone would actually WANT to pay more for the same quality item. Love them!

I just purchased these as I just renovated my kitchen and the theme is red, they fit nicely into my drawer, seem to be very durable, and I like the three different sizes. I've already put one through the dishwasher twice and had no problems after. I would highly recommend, and the seller super fast too.

I'm impressed with these synthetic brushes and like the fact that they work well and are sooo easy to clean . . . dishwasher!!

Honest reviews on SILICONE Basting Brushes 3-Piece Set - Red

This set comes with two smaller brushes for everyday use, and one large one for grilling, which my husband loves.

The brushes come apart for easy cleaning and they are dishwasher safe. I much prefer them to standard basting brushes, which always feel greasy after use. This is a very good product at a very good price.

The handles on these are unbelievably cheap. They are uncomfortable to hold, rough around the edges, cannot stand up to anything, thin plastic. The brush ends are, as promised and advertised, proper silicone.

I ordered this as a present for a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan and he called me to tell me how excited he was about it! He said he wants to get a grill cover to cover this grill cover because he doesn't ever want it to get messed up by the weather or anything, lol! The product was shipped quickly and was received in great shape and met all expectations.

First of all, this item is an ADJUSTABLE grill rack, which is not mentioned anywhere on the page. Unfortunately, I did not notice that the size listed under the item photo did not match the size listed under the Item Dimensions, otherwise I would've known something was not right and would not have ordered it.

That said, it does adjust to the correct width (front to back on the grill) and will sit in there.

However, the second problem is the length of the grate (side to side in the grill) that dimension is not adjustable, and is only 24" instead of the 26.5" listed and required to fit the CharBroil 8000 series.

The grate will stay put in the grill despite not being full sized. I am not sure how stable it will be as a cooking surface, but it seems like it might be functional.. I am still trying to decide if I want to keep this item and try to make it work even though it was not what I intended to purchase/not what is advertised.

The other option is to pay for return shipping and go purchase from Sears, which actually had the part number as listed with the manufacturer (4152741). The Sears price plus shipping (to GA) was $2-3 more, but I think that would have at least been the correct/advertised item.

I would recommend others looking for a replacement grate for the MasterFlame8000 grill purchase from the Sears or actual CharBroil website if it is important to you that the grate fit exactly in your grill... for $5-7 more, I wish I had just gotten the real thing from the manufacturer :(

This product does not fit the 8000 series grill. The "Product Features" section states the grill "Measures 14-3/4-Inch by 26-5/8-Inch". But, the "Product Details" section has the correct measurement of "Product Dimensions: 24 x 13.8 x 0.9 inches" which is too small.

Best Deals for Char-Broil 7000/8000 Series Porcelain Grid Replacement

This item is totally useless. It is ADJUSTABLE and not "made" for any one grill size. The grates that came with my Big Easy Charbroil grill have never fit particularly well, and now that the grill is 7-8 years old, they're getting a bit corroded. I thought that this item would really improve my grilling experience, but it is totally worthless. Don't bother.

Honest reviews on Char-Broil 7000/8000 Series Porcelain Grid Replacement

The photo appears as one piece, however, there are three. The clips provided to hold the pieces together doesn't do the job. When cleaning the Grid with a cleaning wire brush, the Grid comes apart. I wish I could send it back. Big time misleading photo.

The item states that it is Measures 14-3/4-Inch by 26-5/8-Inch, which is a LIE. This item is only 24" wide and will not fit.

These were exact replacements which fit perfectly. Directions were very detailed. Would have rated this a 5, except that the hardware kit included other items that I did not need, but not the 3 Stainless Steel screws I did need. Be aware that the 3 small SS wide head screws that fix the far end of the tubes to the chassis are not included. Perhaps Weber does not think these need replacing, but after years of heat even stainless steel corrodes to near nothing. Found some SS screws at hardware store, but shortest was too long and did not have the required wider head flange. Had to grind them to correct length and use small SS washers in lieu of the wider head flange.
