King Kooker 5911 2-3/4 Gallon Cast Iron Jambalaya Pot Review
Excellent product. This my second one. It is great for cooking large pots of gumbo. The bottom is curved so it is easy to whisk a rue and there are no corners for food to get stuck and burn. Each pot can feed approximately 40 people. I liked it so much I had to order another one for larger gatherings.

I spent about an hour trying to get this gauge to work and notified the company that I wanted to return it. The original instructions are to "Pump the gauge 4-6 times to obtain gas flow..." This did nothing and I was about to return the gauge when they sent me a note advising to "push down on the dial of the gauge...." This set everything in order and I am keeping the gauge. If the instructions were better, I would rate it 5 stars. I may buy another from Amazon.Best Deals for GasWatch Propane Level Indicator with 100% Shut-Off
This is the 2nd of these guages that we have ordered. They make any item that needs a propane tank so much easier to deal with. You never have to worry about running out of propane before the meal is cooked, or whatever you are using the guage for. Great, simple idea that makes life easier! Great company to deal with also. They made sure I got my item in time for the birthday present it was intended for. Thank you!Honest reviews on GasWatch Propane Level Indicator with 100% Shut-Off

I bought this from a local chain store, and it seemed to work ok. It was a little wobbly for me, but I was also doing homebrew with this unit. It seemed to wobble when I had two 10 gallon pots on it. But it wasn't so bad that I didn't use it still. Then when I turned up the heat, the flame would hit the bottom of my pot (which is ok) and travel to the edge. The flame got the frame, which appears to be hot rolled bar, and it got red hot. It started to sag in the middle and turn into a V shape from the weight and heat. I just don't think it was designed with heavy duty enough materials for a large pot application, such as chili for a large group, or stews for large groups. It would probably work ok for small and light camping, but I also thought the BG10 burners on it were too hot to work on my two burner skillet from Campchef. It got hot spots and did not seem to distribute the heat as well as other cookers I have used. I took this one back after it started to fold in the middle and got a different brand.
I am looking now for the same size, but with smaller burners.
This grill is awesome. It will quickly bring a large pot of water to a boil. We purchased some griddles to make bacon and pancakes and we had no problems even in the 30s. With all three burners running, it sounds like the space shuttle at launch :)
Highly recommended.
OK now to the good Points. The Stove just looks Good, it looks good on the cooker trailer as well. The burners function beautifully. After reading some of the reviews on this site I was slightly worried that I was going to have a Turkey fryer with no heat control, not true. These are high pressure burners. (5 lb pressure, Your house only has about 5 oz of pressure). This had a Turkey frying pot hot in just a few minutes and would have had it boiling in about ten I think if I had let it kept going. This is perfect for making beans etc.
Bottom line is I think I will have many years of good service out of this stove, I just hated to take a grinder and a hammer to it before I could even cook on it.

I bought this burner under the impression that you could use it with fry pans. I cook for a large group and wanted to use three frying pans at once. This unit burns too hot, turns your pans completely black and cannot be toned down to use this way. I even bought baffle plates of steel to place on top to make it burn cooler, but that did not help. I sent it back to the factory to have them check it, they siad it was burning fine. This is designed for large pots only to cook crab or corn, etc.I am looking now for the same size, but with smaller burners.

We camp throughout the year. In the late fall, I head to the mountains with the guys where it is typically high 30s low 40s during the day. We have always struggled with the tailgate type gas grills with little success. At these temps, those grills take forever to get up to temperature. This grill is awesome. I was excited about this stove, I have been rebuilding My BBQ trailer and this was to replace an old home made stove. I got it in on Friday and immediately began to assemble it. I found the the center burner was the wrong height and I could not install the gas header as it was manufactured. Reluctantly I took a grinder to my brand new stove and cut out about a 1/4" or more of material so that the burner would level out. I got that all lind out and was looking the rest of the pieces over and found that one baffle plate had been damaged before it was painted. I can fix it with one or two strikes of the hammer, But this is my new stove.OK now to the good Points. The Stove just looks Good, it looks good on the cooker trailer as well. The stove works great. There was a problem with one of the burners when the stove first arrived and the manufacturer promptly took care of it by sending out another part. It easily holds a 20 qt. stock pot, and a 21.5 quart pressure cooker, and another pot for heating lids.Thursday, December 11, 2014

This product is good and with no doubts helps with flare ups. The only problem I found you need to clean them pretty often, because the holes become clogged during the bbqing. When you start cleaning them there is a big chance that some of them brake, because they are pretty fragile... They are not cheap, and replacing them consistently makes them pretty expensive...
Installation was easy. I removed all of the ceramic tile "biscuits" on the two grates below the grilles and then turned the grates over to get a smooth surface to lay down the Squares.
I then took two large fatty meat paddies and began to cook them. There were only a few flare-ups from fat dripping onto the metal burner below the Squares, but the flames each lasted only a second. It appears that the small holes in the squares extinguish the flame quickly. This made me glad that I didn't buy the other similar tiles on Amazon at 1/3 the cost. They have less, larger holes so this "self-extinguishing" capability might not work as well.
The other benefit was better heat distribution. My BBQ has always had a hot spot in the rear right. I found that I didn't have to shift the two paddy positions back and forth to ensure that both were cooked to the same degree. This is another reason why I'm glad I didn't buy the cheaper tiles; as they're thinner and wouldn't have spread out my hot spot as much.
I'll be using my BBQ a lot more now that I've converted it to the No Flare Squares!
. This problem has been almost completely eliminated thanks to these squares.

It is a really good product and does the job I needed it for very well for an excellent value compared to much more expensive similar products.Best Deals for 21st Century B36B Universal Electronic Igniter
After purchasing a new gas grill with an electronic ignitor, I decided that they are the way to go. I took the old grill I was using to my second home and decided that I wanted to upgrade the troublesome piezo push button starter. This electronic starter did the trick, but there is something that anyone wanting to do the same should be aware of. None of the newer electronic starters have a small enough shank to mount into an existing piezo starter's hole. You will need to either enlarge the existing hole or drill another hole. The size of hole that this starter requires is 7/8". When you purchase this you will need to also purchase a step drill bit that can drill a 7/8" hole. Once you have the correct size hole drilled, installation is very easy. The new starter works nicely and is a major improvement over the old piezo push button starter.Friday, November 21, 2014

When I was asked to design and build an exterior kitchen and grille area, I had initially thought that I would fabricate the doors myself. I'm so glad I came across these custom stainless steel enclosures. They were exactly what I would have made myself and the quality was extremely high. The directional brushed finish was excellent and the pieces were delivered in about one week. They blended well to the #4 finish stainless steel cabinet face that I fabricated and the client loved the finished product. We bought three cabinets total saving hours of fabrication, materials and labor. The client loved the finished product!

Masterbuilt 20070210 30-Inch Electric Analog Smoker Reviews

I have owned a number of of smokers. One was a Brinkman charcoal "bullet" type smoker. It worked well but had to be watched over a lot. Then I decided to get a Brinkman electric bullet smoker. It didn't have any adjustments for temp and it couldn't get warm enough during the winter months even though I live in the south. Then I bought a Charbroil vertical propane smoker. It was by far the worst smoker I have ever owned. The wood chips and water are in the same pan in the base. The poor design made you steam the meat as much as smoke it and adjusting the temp was almost impossible. I also owned a wood burning offset smoker. It worked great but you had to constantly adjust the fire to keep the temp where you wanted it. So I started looking for an electric unit without a glass door. I have no use for a glass door. You can't see inside when the smoke gets going and the glass needs to be cleaned constantly.
Not long ago I purchased the Masterbilt smoker and I love it. It was reasonably priced and did not have a glass door. It exceeds my expectations every time I use it. It heats up quickly and stays at the correct temp. The smoker is economical to run and requires very little tending. The water pan and the wood chip pan are both relatively small but once filled, they last for 5 to 6 hours. Once the temp is set, the water and wood chip trays are filled, and the meat is in you can close the door and forget about it for at least 5 hours. The meat comes out smoked but not steamed and not the least bit dried out.
Originally I wanted a smoker with a digital control but during the 3 hour burn in period recommended in the owners manual, I adjusted the controller until I got the temp to 225° and marked the controller with a Sharpie. Now I just plug it in and set it to the mark. The digital would have been nice but it certainly isn't needed.
All in all this smoker has been great.
Get a digital thermometer.
Also the heat cannot stay consistent, you'll notice a 20-30 degree swing in the temperature, and if you are going for 225, it doesn't get hot enough at the bottom for the wood chips to smoke and the grease gets all over your water bowl and chip bowl.
THE FIX is to cover the bottom rack in tin foil, this makes the smoker ROCK SOLID. The temp variance is less that 2 degrees up top, and the bottom gets plenty hot for smoke production as well as keeping the inside items clean. Once you get a digital thermometer, and cover the bottom rack in foil, this is a great smoker.
Meats come out very juicy with good smoke flavor, much less smoke ring than a charcoal or pellet BBQ. Fill the wood tray up with water-soaked wood chips and it lasts for 7+ hours of good smoke at 250. The water tray is very small and runs out in 4 hours; I add a cheap, foil-lined 9X13 baking pan on the lowest shelf for long smokes, filling it with beer or Coke for extra flavor on long smokes. (If you are unfamiliar with electric smokers, you will not get the same exterior texture as a coal or wood fire but you will get great smoke flavor.) Great for fish and fowl that are not too fatty.
It's the only electric I've ever owned (I like coal and pellets more). I'll buy another it this one ever breaks; it's a year old and going strong for now. Maybe it's overall a 3-star smoker, but it's a 4-5 star electric. Check the sales in the off-season at other online retailers.

Now I've been happily married for 23 years and my wife, God Bless Her, is very thoughtful at Christmas for me, the kids and the entire family but this one takes the cake!!..I recieved this smoker last Chistmas and have used it for at least 40 meals. Brisket, Steaks, Meatloaf, Wings, Chicken Breast, Ribs, Pulled Pork Shoulder and even cooked skoked potatoes. maybe the other folk got a defective unit but mine is awesome...I have it in my shed near an open window and it smokes great. The thermometer in the front is good but my wife got an electronic thermometer that has 2 probes. 1 for the meat and 1 for the inside temp of the cooker. She also bought me these 12x12 cake pans 2 inches deep, work awesome....also get that cookbook from John McLemore "dadgum it's good" cookbook....but there's a ton of youtube videos on smoking and recipes. anyhow there ya have it, it's a great smoker. hope ya like it. I left my el cheapo charcoal smoker for this. Many warned me I would miss the charcoal, but they were wrong! Don't miss stuffing newspaper into the chimney lighter and getting black dust all over me from the coal. Only complaint is getting temp up when cold and windy outside. But, if no wind and above 40*, heats up quickly and efficiently. I've since done (3) pork shoulders, (2) chickens and some potatoes, all with good results. Water and wood pans a little small, but sacrifice one shelf to put cheapy tin pans for water and then use water pan for chips also. Works great!Honest reviews on Masterbuilt 20070210 30-Inch Electric Analog Smoker
The thermometer on the front, like all non-digital thermometers is trash. Mine was +50 degrees cold, which means, if you are trying to BBQ at 225, its really at 275 and you end up caramelizing any sugar you may have in your rub.Get a digital thermometer.

It's inexpensive and works well, not great. Construction is good for the money, but the door can stick when hot. Analog temperature control takes some getting used to and is not trustworthy for holding temps that steady (up to a 75 degree swing). If you can baby sit your smoke like you would a Weber, it works fine...I check the temps every 10-15 min for the first hour, then it settles in fine based upon outside temps, wind, shade/sun, etc. Since there is no inner thermostat (analog), you must manually control the temp with the dial control based upon your experience and what the included-door-thermometer is reading. It's much easier and cleaner to use than wood or charcoal Que's.Meats come out very juicy with good smoke flavor, much less smoke ring than a charcoal or pellet BBQ. Reviews of Lodge A1-410 Sportsman's Grill Cover
I never thought I would write a review of a grill cover, but Amazon dared me! Here's the skinny. The cover fits tightly but it is a tad short to cover the legs all the way down to their tips with its strong elastic edge. No big deal, the cast iron legs are not in danger of rusting out. I've had mine out on the patio in the Kansas sun for two summers and it has faded to a gray color on top, still black on the bottom, no big deal from my view either. But one little annoyance is that the seams on the fabric (all the way around the top edge when it is on) leak. So in a heavy rain water will drip inside and lead to surface rusting. That kind of defeats the purpose of the cover. This can probably be solved with the use of tent seam sealer. Are there awards for this kind of vital, investigative consumer reporting? The grill is great!
Will have to waterproof the seams.

(Husband writing review:) I use my Lodge Sportsman as often as possible, but sometimes it still has to go into storage for a while. This is a rugged cover that is custom fit, and I appreciate how much cleaner my grill is when I pull it out. Keeps the dust and cobwebs to a minimum; keeps the rain out if you forget and leave it outside. It's well worth it if you're going to invest in the grill.Best Deals for Lodge A1-410 Sportsman's Grill Cover
I got both the grill and this cover last week. Contrary to what one of the reviews says here, it fits perfectly with no shortage at the bottom. I have provided my own photograph at the top of this page that shows the cover on my grill. The elastic at the bottom of the cover allows it to pull tight UNDER the feet of the grill allowing very little chance of rain getting directly on the grill. You're still going to have to put up with the possibility of rust on the grill simply from moisture in the air, but at least it won't be raining on it.Honest reviews on Lodge A1-410 Sportsman's Grill Cover
This cover is a dream come true ... I would always use anything handy to cover my grill .... but it never fit tight and would blow away and let water in . This cover does the trick and it fits perfectly ! It keeps your grill dry and extends the life of your grill . Several hours after grilling I totally clean the grill of ashes .... I Then Spray the Grill with Cooking Spray and I cover the Grill with this Cover .... My Grill almost looks new and I know it will extend the life of the Grill by years... What a " Grate Idea".Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lodge A1-410 Sportsman's Grill Cover
The cover conforms perfectly to sportsman grill and looks pretty good to boot. However, after the first day in the rain I noticed that it had been leaking a small bit of water through which created rust spots on the charcoal grate. Being non-waterproof is kind of a big deal for a cast iron grill. Will have to waterproof the seams.

Review of 03350 Spark Generator Replacement for Select Gas Grill Models
Buyers should be aware of two caveats. #1Plastic nut that comes with item is flimsy and broke when I HAND tightened it so I ended up using the original #2The wires that attach to the replacement igniter may have to be installed with a needle nosed plier; they don't attach as easily as they do with the original. Other than that, the item works very well and is a solid replacement.

I was a little disconcerted by a review that said he returned the gasket because it was a peal-and-stick product. It was very easy to apply because it was a peal and stick. The weight of the lid insures that it stays stuck. I like the product and would buy it again when needed.Friday, July 25, 2014

This is a sturdy jalapeno pepper stainless steel rack for your grill. The rack works as advertised but you need to choose peppers of just the right size. If they are too big, they tip over. If they are too small, they fall through the holes.

This is a sturdy jalapeno pepper stainless steel rack for your grill. The rack works as advertised but you need to choose peppers of just the right size. If they are too big, they tip over. If they are too small, they fall through the holes.

This is the best one on the market period. Hold the peppers upright even when you load them op with goodies. Spend the money you won't be disappointed.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Jalapeno Pepper Grill Rack Set
I like the sturdiness of the rack. I also like the handles which make it easy for lifting the rack off the grill. I've used it a number of times, and have shown it to some of my neighbors who are also interested in making the roasted peppers. The accompanying coring tool is a BIG plus.Saturday, July 19, 2014

Exact match. I wish I'd spent the money and purchased these first. I blew $30 on some crappy things at Walmart first. If this is what your grill has had, get them.Best Deals for Music City Metals 65041 Matte Cast Iron Cooking Grid Replacement
Fit great in my grill and the price was good compared to other sights. Time will tell how long it will last. I did the recommended seasoning where you wrap the grid in tin foil after dousing it with oil and putting it in the oven, twice.Honest reviews on Music City Metals 65041 Matte Cast Iron Cooking Grid Replacement

I own a Falcon Gas Grill that was purchased back in 1974 that has since stopped manufacturing. However I have been able to find the original cast iron grates for replacements until recently. This grate fits almost perfectly. It is 1 inch narrower (1/2 inch on either side) and is hardly noticeable. The cast iron is slightly lighter in weight and thickness, but is a very fine replacement. I would recommend to all those Falcon Grill loyal owners!Saturday, June 7, 2014
Cheap Bayou Classic 0770-PDQ Leg and Wing Rack
I haved used this in the oven and on the grill and was pleased with the results. The legs were golden brown, crispy, moist, and delicious. For the oven, I placed the rack on a large jelly roll pan (it's too long to fit in a 13x9 pan) lined with foil. The grease drippings from the legs will generate a lot of smoke inside the oven so the directions say to pour a 1/4 cup of water inside the pan to prevent smoking. I had to do that a couple of times. I sprayed the rack with a little cooking spray before loading it up and cleaning it was easy.
The rack should be used with indirect heat on the grill. I pushed the coals to one side of the grill and was able to use the additional space under the rack and in front of it to grill additional items at the same time. It takes about 30-45 minutes to cook the legs through depending on the size. You can always pull the smaller ones off while the larger one continue to cook. I cooked my first batch in the oven for 45 minutes and even the smaller ones were juicy. The grilled ones were even better since I tossed on a handful of wood chips.
The rack is sturdy and easily supports the legs. I thought they would probably fall off once they shrank a bit from cooking but they didn't. I haven't tried wings on it yet.
It worked great, and I am a gadget lover, so I found it fun to use as well. The legs were evenly cooked, and not burnt. When placing them directly on the grill rack, I often wouldn't turn them fast enough, thus burning one side of the legs, but with this, you just set them in the slots, let them cook, and in my case, add bbq sauce toward the end of grilling. It's also nice not to have the skin and some of the meat stuck to the grill if you don't turn them enough-this happens invariably in my case. I used a BBQ temp gauge fork Maverick ET-53 BarbBFork Fork Thermometerthat I bought in the same order to check them when I thought they looked done, and indeed they were cooked through perfectly. I used Perdue drumsticks and suffered no casulties due to shrinkage/slippage. I will post some photos of the cooked legs under the product picture above. Happy grilling!
**update** To be fair, and in the interest of full disclosure, yes, I have had one leg that tried to escape. While it did manage to free itself from its leg constraint, it did not manage to get far and ultimately suffered the same fate as its brethren. Just wanted to put that out there as I said in my initial review that I had suffered no "leg slippage".
I'm not sure how you could completely load the racks with 12 wings without them sort of laying on each other sideways. I bought two racks and was able to space out the 18 wings I cooked.
That said, the wings came out the crispy and like fried without being fried, in part thanks to a spritz of pam-type cooking spray.

This is the original version from Bayou which is made of Stainless Steel. I got the down-grade version in nickel-plated steel at Lowe's for $4.97 works the same plus the rack now could be fold to save storage space. Usually I grill chicken legs and wings at direct heat to increase the cooking speed but the skin is always burned and skull still raw. This rack will enable me to use both indirect or direct heat, minimize energy lost by open the grill cover for constant toss and turn, increase cooking capacity (which is good for party), and foolproof for a crispy outside and tender inside lean chicken legs and wings. I recommend to get 2 of these to optimize the use of your gas grill. Put them on drip pan with some water to reduce smoke, lighten task for cleanup and prevent dryness when use in elec oven.Best Deals for Bayou Classic 0770-PDQ Leg and Wing Rack
The spaces between the wires are quite large. So smaller drum sticks will not stay within the wires.Honest reviews on Bayou Classic 0770-PDQ Leg and Wing Rack

You'll note on the packaging that there are no photos of wings hanging from the rack even though it is called a "leg and wing rack".
