I am so pleased with this item I decided to write my very first review here on Amazon. I bought this unit as an alternative when the forest service in Arizona puts a ban on campfires (quite common during our dry summer months). We went camping last month without being able to build a fire. Although we managed to have a nice time, it just didn't feel like camping to us. Anyways, as soon as we got home I started researching different propane campfires. The prices are all over the map and some of the more elaborate models didn't appear to recreate a "fire". The thing I was most concerned with was having a nice flame. This little unit does not disappoint in that department. On its lowest setting the flame is around 6 inches or so tall with almost no hissing sound from the propane. On the high setting the flames are maybe 2 feet above the unit. I was surprised at how high the flames got... lol. The downside to the highest setting is the hissing sound is pretty loud. As others have said the logs that come with this unit seem very fragile. The only difference between the "campfire in a can" and this unit as far as I can tell is the logs. The campfire in a can has logs that are molded together to look like a pile. This unit has individual logs that you stack to your liking. The molded style is better for transporting as the logs wont bang into each other as you carry the unit. I plan to individually wrap the logs to protect them from breaking during transport. So to get straight to my point...If you want a natural looking fire and not the wimpy flames you see coming from your propane BBQ grill, buy this immediately. I hope my review was helpful for you.

This is a fun addition to our RV. Many campgounds and RV parks do not allow open wood burning. Always a dissipointment for us as we love to sit around a natual camfire. It's always fun to roast hotdogs and marshmellows. That's when we break out this little firepit in a can. The unit is small with some artificial, but fairly natural looking logs; much like a gas fireplace in your home. All you do is unlatch three latches, udjust the logs; although we did find that the logs didn't match up well with the holes and pegs that were on them; however it made little difference how you stcked those logs on the bottom ones. You then unwind the gas hose which is wound around the stand,under the pit and attache it by hand to a Propane tank which you can put up to eight feet away. The unit is mostly for the atmosphere. It puts out a litte heat, but it's not going to keep you warm on a cold night. And we miss the crackling of the wood. (you can hook up your I-pod and play fire sounds) The unit overall works great. You can adjust the flame from low to high but the higher you go, the louder the hiss of the propane. We found that a medium flame was good. We bought a small bag of Rockwool and put some small pieces below the logs for the extra look of burning embers. You may be able to cook a hotdog over it, but we choose not to because it appears the grease would make a mess of the logs and they don't look easy to clean. All in all, I think it's a great idea and it works well. Do keep in mind that you will have to haul an extra propane tank as, even with an adapter, I don't think it would run long on small tanks.

This product is not perfect. One of the fake logs was broken in shipment and could not be replaced as the vendor buys it from China, no extra logs included. However, it provides a cheerful area where people can gather. It takes a lot of propane. The tank connection hardware that is included should fit all 2 to 20 gal. propane tanks. We had to buy a special adapter to make it fit the small camping canister that lasts for an evening on low flame, or about 2 hours if we wanted it to really look like a campfire. It seems well made and should be durable.

All the other reviews are pretty accurate in my opinion, this is a very nice LP campfire, in a very small package!!! It makes decent flame and heat on high, but there are two tricks I havent seen mentioned anywhere.

One trick is to tape over the air intake holes above the 90 fitting (or replace this drilled 1/4" coupler with a new one). This stops the loud hissing many complain about when on high, makes the flame more calm, natural, seem bigger and ironically it feels hotter too. This could create some mild soot over time because the flame is "dirty" without a lot of air, but I dont care. I dont need to touch anything. You let it cool, wrap the hose, put the top on, and go.

The second trick is to remove the 90" 1/4" elbow and using a hex wrench, screw out the restrictor. This will make a HUGE difference and your flame will be as big or bigger than you actually want.

The Wife wanted one of these cause we never seem to get a fire going outside the 5th wheel. Was not too sure how one of these was going to work but decided to give it a try. I like it! It's easy to set up, take down, and store. I use a little 5 lb tank (easy to carry around) with it and I set the flame to where you can just hear the hiss of the gas. Can get a few nights out the 5 lb tank and it's less than $3 to refill. You are not going to stay warm from this thing if its 30 degrees outside but will do OK when it's in the 60s. Works great for kids roasting marshmallows, not sure about hot dogs, but have not tried it yet. Showed it to my neighbors, they bought one too, Other neighbor is considering to as well. Construction seems fine to me, well built. Only complaint is one of the 3 snaps that hold it closed always seems to pop open.

I opened the grill for the first time yesterday. It was easy to set-up, took less than a minute. I used the grill for tailgating at the Chicago Bears game. Cooked brats on the grill and it worked perfect. I did look around at the other grills that were being used and I have to say the space/capacity on this one exceeded the other grills that were being used. The main difference, literally, was having a top for the grill or not. If you're ok without a top, this is a perfect grill for tailgating or any other grilling activity.

This product is good and with no doubts helps with flare ups. The only problem I found you need to clean them pretty often, because the holes become clogged during the bbqing. When you start cleaning them there is a big chance that some of them brake, because they are pretty fragile... They are not cheap, and replacing them consistently makes them pretty expensive...

I wasn't using my BBQ much; because I disliked having to stand over the smoke constantly shifting the meat and using a water bottle to tame down the flames. I did some research and found these No Flare Squares.

Installation was easy. I removed all of the ceramic tile "biscuits" on the two grates below the grilles and then turned the grates over to get a smooth surface to lay down the Squares.

I then took two large fatty meat paddies and began to cook them. There were only a few flare-ups from fat dripping onto the metal burner below the Squares, but the flames each lasted only a second. It appears that the small holes in the squares extinguish the flame quickly. This made me glad that I didn't buy the other similar tiles on Amazon at 1/3 the cost. They have less, larger holes so this "self-extinguishing" capability might not work as well.

The other benefit was better heat distribution. My BBQ has always had a hot spot in the rear right. I found that I didn't have to shift the two paddy positions back and forth to ensure that both were cooked to the same degree. This is another reason why I'm glad I didn't buy the cheaper tiles; as they're thinner and wouldn't have spread out my hot spot as much.

I'll be using my BBQ a lot more now that I've converted it to the No Flare Squares!

I bought these to smoke our Thanksgiving turkey on my Big Green Egg. 1/4 of the box was enough for a 4 hour smoking, and the flavor was absolutely fantastic! The wrong choice with poultry can give you terrible results, because turkey and chicken don't exactly bring a lot of their own flavor. But this was probably the best smoked bird I've ever had--and our guests agreed.

There are several varieties of chips offered by BBQ U. These are by far our favorite! The flavor of these chips which are a mix of 3 different woods is in our opinion superior to the more popular and readily available hickory and mesquite that you find at the supermarket these woods are overpowering for our tastes. We use them for everything except beef. They are awesome for chicken and pork-chops and of-course scallops.

The best thing about this brand is that the chunks are very uniform in size and burn equally making the estimate of how much you need very predictable. meaning you start with 5 chunks. see how it comes out and adjust the next time. To smokey for youuse 3 not smokey enough-use 7 the uniform size makes the guesstimate quite accurate. The other thing I like is the packaging. Yes-the packaging. Most wood come in bags and makes the storage of them a bit clunky. The boxes make good use of space and can be stored in camping bins and bbq boxes much more efficiently. We store 3 different flavors of wood in the same box and only pack the 1 box. Anyone who grew up with the same tetris like mentality should relate. We also like the woodchips for pork. and the wine barrel chunks. The wine barrel chunks are perfect for beef!

Cheap Maverick Wireless BBQ Thermometer Set - Maverick ET732 Special

I bought this for one basic reason I smoke my own turkeys/hams/jerky/cheese etc.etc. Really bought it for the bigger and more delicate projects like the turkey and hams. Takes a little reading and a couple times walking through the setup process, but once you have the functions down it quickly becomes that long lost smoking partner you never new you were missing.

I have always been pretty good about my smoked results but this takes the poke and re-poke temperature checks out of the equation. Especially the rare "its finally done" to cut it open and find out not quite. I hated opening the smoker to find out it is 8 degrees shy of done then close it up and calculate the heat lost just added 20 minutes to get it back to temp and cooking and another 35 minutes to finish on top of the re-poke oozing more of my precious juices while I wait. First turkey I did never opened the smoker just changed the pan until she sang true. By far the easiest way to achieve the desired temp faster without heat loss and a guarantee of perfect done and juiciest quality. One hole from the temp thermometer that stays plugged without removal doesn't allow juices to seep out like the re-poke method. When you cut 'er open and watch the juices flood in around the knife blade you have achieve a delicacy of nummy-nummers!!!!

The temp alarm is not LOUD on the remote unit but its handy being wireless and I keep it sitting within 10 feet of me or in my shirt breast pocket and haven't missed it singing sweetly to me yet. Even on an end-table watching a movie it is obvious when she sings about your meat.

No complaints about the remote range either I usually smoke in the carport about an average of 70 feet away through about 4 walls in the house and don't loose my signal. (Lost the signal a couple times while smoking turkey at a friends house and playing hide-n-seek with the kids in the full basement 80 feet away and through every wall in the house and 6" of concrete but it chirps at you and regains the signal after a moment) The signal is rated in "line of sight" I am sure but nobody expects it to work at those distances in bomb shelter walls or war bunkers do they? I lose my cell signal more often than this.

I have since found other uses for it including the more common use of BBQing which I typically only use the single unit and probe for. I do a homemade mix for a marinade on pork loin and wrap it up good and tight in tinfoil jam the temp probe through the tinfoil and it works like a charm hate overcooked dry meat and what is the point?? Juicy is tender and doesn't lose all the flavors or need to be drowned out with sauce and beer to get it down your throat. The only thing that should be slightly burned or crispied on the edges is hot-dogs and bacon and you don't need a fancy thermometer for either one of those (if you do you need more than this handy gadget to get you through a life of cooking).

The battery life no complaints I have used it over the last couple months about 8 times maybe 16hrs? thus far and only replaced the cheap included batteries. I replaced them before smoking at the friends house. I know I got a good 8 hours out of the first set guessing they will last 10 12 ?? maybe more. Still on the second set of batteries and plan to run it dead for a better idea but even every 10 hours for a couple batteries it's worth it.

Overall extremely happy and it has paid for itself in the first couple smoking projects. Easy to read digital screen easy to wipe clean I use warm water and a sponge to wipe the probes clean rubbing alcohol and a paper towel before storage and alcohol again before use.

In rainy conditions I don't tempt fate I put the outside/sending unit standing up normal after putting a Ziploc sandwich baggie upside down over it. Its clear to read through and gives my new smoker buddy a personal safety bubble..... Better safe than sorry.

This is the second Maverick I purchased. My first one is white. I use it all year round and conditions in winter in Hamburg (Germany) can be quite rough. But this thermometer has always helped me to make good food.

What does this thermometer:

Measuring the core temperature of the food

Measures the BBQ temp. The gauge is mounted with a holder to the grate

Measures the BBQ time.

Gives alarms for set food core temp.

Gives alarms for set BBQ temp.

Measures in F and C (selectable)

Provides background light of the display on the receiver unit (press button and it stays on some seconds)

Gives alarm in case of lost wireless connection (recovers automatically very reliable!)

The wires of the gauges are long enough having food inside the Weber Water smoker running the cable(s) through the door and having the sender on the nearby table. In case one gauge is damaged, a replacement can be purchased for a reasonable price.

But there is a disadvantage apart from all great working features: The measurement gauges must nut be cleaned in water. In case the gauge(s) are dropped in water let them dry in an oven and they recover.

You can use the thermometer also with one gauge connected only.

Mesurement distance: We use it on our yard with a distance of about 80 m (140 feet) over many hours during smoking sesscions. No problems even with a thick glass between.

I've been really getting into barbecuing with my Traeger, and needed a good meat thermometer. There are so many of them out there, I was having trouble deciding which one I needed. I definitely chose wisely. This one is a little more expensive than some of the others, but worth every penny. I love that it has two temperature probes one for the meat temperature, one for the bbq temperature. You can also program it to sound an alarm once the meat reaches the desired temp, or if the grill temp drops. This thing was a lifesaver when I had to do a brisket for 14 hours in the pouring rain. This item is one of the handiest gadgets that I ever acquired. It easily attaches to the existing plumbing between the propane tank of a standard barbeque grill and its heating element. I never ran out of fuel while cooking with this item servicing to my grill. I refuel my propane tank several times a year. This handy guage does not encumber the refueling process in any way. It has proven to be durable and resistent to all weather year-around.

I forgot to write a review for the item when purchased, but was recently prompted by Amazon to do so. I highly recommend it.

As you can see from the picture, this cover only protects the top part of the grill. We bought additional material and made it go down to the bottom using commercial Velcro to attach it. Works great and for much less than getting a custom made one. So, I would recommend that you buy this and do what we did and save over 600 dollars.

I couldn't decide whether to overhaul my old Weber Genesis, or breakdown and buy a fancy new one. I researched several sites about Weber repairs and shopped for replacement parts. This replacement tube set is not an exact copy, but close enough. The instructions are pretty straight forward, but YouTube has a bunch of "how to" videos, in case you can't follow the printed instructions.

I'm definitely pleased with the function of the replacement tubs; nice, even, and hot flames, at a fraction of the price of genuine Weber parts. These parts are going to fail with use, so these were perfect.

I love Amazon and shop here for many items. Overall, I've been at least satisfied, usually thrilled with my purchases. I read reviews, but sadly, haven't posted any for your benefit. That changes now.

Buy REAL Weber burners! Don't be the cheapskate I was. My burners worked, I just decided to upgrade from piezo to electric ignition. Figured I'd replace my 10+ yr old burners while there. They were different, but fit great.

With the old burners, if i got distracted for 5 minutes, the grill would preheat to "panic" temps, burying the thermometer. These, in 20 mins, barely break 500f, and won't go higher. YES, I did adjust the dampers for mix, they were way off. These have tiny holes, where the orig ones had big slots. The crossover tubes are different, burners 2 & 3 take forever to light, kinda scary. I wish I'd stopped when i saw the difference, and sent them BACK. I DAMAGED the old ones removing them, but I will be replacing them with REAL webers. What a waste.

I gave them a 2nd star because they did fit.

If your grill is totally trashed and you only have $30, after a pack of hot dogs and buns, buy these, they do heat. If you're like me and love the way your Weber sears a t-bone, buy the real thing.

This is a terrific buy. It was more than half of the cost of the OEM replacement. I wasn't sure if that was going to be a good thing. Especially these days. You almost always get what you pay for. But, after handling and installing this replacement unit, I am really impressed. Not a single issue with it. The burners was perfectly machined, heavy duty, good welds, and no roughly milled areas. I was actually kind of sad when I had to cover it up with the flavor bars and grates.

Don't hesitate... these are a terrific value.

The name CHIPS is misleading, this is much smaller. The only good uses for these is an stove top smoker or making a package made from HD foil with a small hold pocked in the center for the smoke to come out. Place the packet over the flame or on the coals in your BBQ. The smoke has good flavor but will not last long in an outdoor application.

The burners and baffles, even those made of "stainless steel", usually fail too quickly on most grills. Using water to quench flare-ups is bad, it turns out. The cost to replace them can be so high that it becomes a viable option to just replace the entire grill instead. What a scandal. This is a similar scenario to your computer printer ink cartridge replacement. This five pack of model MCM 10361 burners was a priced so reasonably that the per-burner price was just 25% of the Local Obvious Whack Every Sucker price of single burners commonly available. They restored the flame pattern and heat evenness to my Charmglow stainless steel grill. I just wish Amazon had a combo deal including the MCM 91241 "stainless steel" baffles (AKA: "heat tents"). too.

Six years ago, I bought the stainless steel Charmglow 3-burner version of the grill these burners fit. Last year, I noticed that the middle burner had a small hole. After procrastinating for a year, and the small hole not fixing itself (it became a big hole), I decided to replace it. The grill itself is in great condition, but still, is 6 years old, so I didn't want to spend a lot on it. These burners, for the price, seemed like the way to go, even after reading the negative reviews.

The order was received promptly and there were no missing or damaged parts. The burners themselves are made of the same gauge stainless as the originals, although there is no easy way to determine the grade. Since the adjusters have the screw on the bottom, there is no way to adjust them once they are installed (same as factory burners), so I simply set them all at half just before installation. They appear, by the way to be an exact replacement and fit perfectly.

The problem, should you ever want to undertake burner replacement on an older grill, is with the fact that everything inside the firebox will corrode over time and there is no easy way to remove the old burners. Aside from that, there is some disassembly required, including loosening the manifold to get the new burners over the gas ports, and Charmglow doesn't have any directions on how to do this. It isn't hard to figure out, but don't plan on staying clean. I had to use a cut off wheel to remove the old burner, then drill out the mounting screws. While the other two burners were still serviceable, since I had it apart, I replaced all three of them. I also drilled out the tapped (threaded) holes and put in stainless machine screws with lock washers and nuts so if I ever have to do this again (like if the burners don't last), I can just break them off.

The good news is the grill works like new, and the 3 burners are now balanced (they weren't from the factory). The flame is blue with yellow tips, which is how they are supposed to be and the heat distribution seems to be even. It took me less than two hours start to finish, and part of that was figuring things out. I have no idea at this point how durable they are, but if I can get a year or so out of them, they are easy (now) and cheap enough to replace.

Follow up: It's now 10 months later (late July, 2012) and the grill gets used an average of 3 times a week, including rain and snowstorms. The grill is stored in the garage and is kept loosely covered. Last night, I took the grate and flare plates off to check the burners. They are showing some mild wear, but are still solid and the flame pattern hasn't changed at all. These burners are at least as good as what came from the factory, and I still have the two extras that came in the 5-pack for future replacement. This was truly a good deal.

I started looking at new grills because "original" replacement burners for mine are $29.00 a piece. I only got two years out of the ones that came with it so I couldn't really justify the price. But @ 5 for about forty bucks you can't really go wrong with these. It took me about 15 minutes to install them and I've been using them all summer. They are "universal" so even if I would have had to bend the ends a little or file the corners or something I still wouldn't complain.

My wife was talking about buying a new BBQ because the burner tubes were so messed up. I spent 5 min. on the Internet ordered replacement tubes and installed them in approximately the same time and now our equipment is like new again.

I actually bought my grill from a friend who had left his burners on a totally melted his old burners out. I was really excited when I found the replacement burners for so little. They don't quite fit in where the old ones did because the ends on the old one were straight and these new ones have a 90 degree bend in the end that tilts the burners up towards the end and does not have screw holes to screw it to the grill. They still work great and I have been fully enjoying my grill this summer.

The 5 pack is great because I was able to replace all of my old burners plus keep a new one on the side when one wears out. They are stainless steal and I don't plan on them going out for a very long time but just in case they do I'm ready.
