I bought this for the stove top smoker. It works great. Plenty of smoke and great flavor. It does look like sawdust as does all the stove top smoker woods. If you are looking for wood chips, try the barbeque chips. I have not tried this on the outside grill yet.

These wood chips are great. Very noticeable applewood flavor, really compliments pork well and the smoke flavor is very noticeable and pleasantly, subtly sweet.

Smoking chips is misleading, really just sawdust and unless you research it you won't know it which is ridiculous, the product should be renamed.

For me, you need apple chips for all the pork duties. Hickory is great for jerky but a little too much for the pork. Great buy as I could not get locally, Thanks!

The name CHIPS is misleading, this is much smaller. The only good uses for these is an stove top smoker or making a package made from HD foil with a small hold pocked in the center for the smoke to come out. Place the packet over the flame or on the coals in your BBQ. The smoke has good flavor but will not last long in an outdoor application.
