Ever BBQ scallops or shrimp and have them spin on the skewer? I bought these double pronged skewers at a local hardware store for years, but they stopped carrying them. Thank goodness I was able to find them at Amazon. They're bamboo, and as long as you don't burn them, they can be reused several times.

I got tired of using the one-prong skewers and the veggies and meat turning around on them. The only negative, with these particular skewers, is my husband did the grilling, and he indicated that they got way too hot for him to handle (even though I had soaked them beforehand). I realize they all get hot, but the handles on these were hard to manipulate. One other negative you can only use them once.

I ordered this product in mid-June 2011. It is a wonderful, reliable, solid, well made grilling marvel and not some piece of junk made overseas. It grills the way a grill should, and gives produces excellent results with ribs, steaks and burgers. I am in the process of trying other items, and I am sure that I will get stupendously good results with them as well. Only comment I have is the placement of the handles on the left and right sides, used to lift the lid. Anyone who had a grill with a wood lifting handle mounted on the front plane of the cover might potentially place their hand on this grill lid while it is hot, a burn potential. The old Char-Broil grills had such a wood handle, and even it, on occasion would get too hot to handle without protective gloves. I am going to write the manufacturer with a recommendation to that effect, and in the meanwhile, will put together a 'forward slope'-mounted handle on my own. Nevertheless, this is one of the finest grills I have ever owned and I recommend it without reservation.

These thermometers seem to be essentially the same as others I've purchased in the past from different vendors. I wonder if they are all being OEMed from the same manufacturer but with different printing on the dials to customize them for the seller.

One thing that not all the sellers tell you (but Cusinart, to their credit, does in the included instructions) is that these thermometers are not safe to use on your grill in the manner you would expect and desire. Instead they make a big deal about them being dishwasher safe! What is not mentioned on the web page is that you must insert and immediately remove the thermometers once you've taken a reading. You are not supposed to leave them in the meat while it is on the grill and the lid is closed. Apparently these "Outdoor Grilling" thermometers can't take the heat in a grill. I have used another version of these sold under the Taylor brand without knowing about this restriction and they did indeed stop working after a few sessions of being left in the meat while it was grilling.

So, if you find it convenient to insert these thermometers into hot steaks and them remove them (they are also now hot) after a minute or so then you might find them handy. And this particular set of 4 I purchased was reasonably accurate or at least consistent (three read essentially the same in 140 degree water and one was a slight bit low but probably still useable for this application)

I wish I could find somemone who made a grill thermometer that could actually stand up to the heat in a charcoal or propane grill. If that's what you were looking for, then you might want to keep looking...

I rated these thermometers 1 star but would prefer to rate them no stars, if Amazon would let me, since the gauges didn't even move. We had steaks on the grill and we knew they were near done. Put the Cuisinart steak thermometers in them and after 30 second no reading. We put our old digital fork type thermometer in them and they were done. Go figure? These steak thermometers aren't even worth the time you spend thinking about buying them. Horrible product!

I wish there was a ZERO rating!

These thermometers all show a different temperature with my hot water test. (So..which one is correct)?

They are very slow to attain their temperature reading, so while you are waiting for the reading, your steak will already be in the next done-ness state.

NOT GOOD, but I suppose you could develop a future temperature prediction plan.

When a NAME BRAND like Cuisinart moves to CHINA, expect the worse possible quality.

I can't think of anything to do with these things except toss 'em.

This grill cover is perfect for my grill! The material is thick and the seams are double stitched. It appears that it will withstand the wind, sun and rain that passes through Southern California. Complete junk. It is super cheap. The plastic is so thin that with a few snowfalls, it split apart and is now useless. Don't buy the cheap one, it will cost you in the end. Also, the other reviews only say they just got it. Mine did not last a few months. In short, don't buy.

I got this grill cover from a local store known for selling cheap stuff, so I wasn't expecting greatness, just enough to cover it for the winter. When I installed it, it didn't cover the full height of the grill, leaving a good 12-18" exposed on the bottom. Worse, still, less than a month after installation, one side of the cover has worn through where the handle of the grill is! Spend the extra money on a good grill.

This is truly a case of "you get what you pay for". This cover is fine if you don't use your grill often and if it has rounded edges. Its a good size and will fit over most grills. It has a nice soft inside and doesn't seem to damage the finish of your nicer grill.

However, there are plenty of downsides. If you have sharp corners on your grill, this will rip in a few weeks. We lived in a a townhouse and had to store our grill outside for the winter. This cover did not make it through the harsh new england winter and had nearly tore in half by spring.

Depending on your use, this may be adequate, but invest in something more heavy duty if you live in a harsh climate.

I bought a couple of these to cover my SunOven Solar cookers and they work great. Although the Sunovens are very portable I didn't like having to carry them into the house after every use. Now it just takes a few seconds to throw these covers over them if rain or heavy dew is expected.

I bought these to smoke our Thanksgiving turkey on my Big Green Egg. 1/4 of the box was enough for a 4 hour smoking, and the flavor was absolutely fantastic! The wrong choice with poultry can give you terrible results, because turkey and chicken don't exactly bring a lot of their own flavor. But this was probably the best smoked bird I've ever had--and our guests agreed.

I really was astonished at how well this chip blend brought a great smokey flavor to my chicken breasts. These chips are blended in a well thought out way which takes out the guess work in good smoking. The price per weight is actually pretty cheap, and the size is consistent. There are several varieties of chips offered by BBQ U. These are by far our favorite! The flavor of these chips which are a mix of 3 different woods is in our opinion superior to the more popular and readily available hickory and mesquite that you find at the supermarket these woods are overpowering for our tastes. We use them for everything except beef. They are awesome for chicken and pork-chops and of-course scallops.

The best thing about this brand is that the chunks are very uniform in size and burn equally making the estimate of how much you need very predictable. meaning you start with 5 chunks. see how it comes out and adjust the next time. To smokey for youuse 3 not smokey enough-use 7 the uniform size makes the guesstimate quite accurate. The other thing I like is the packaging. Yes-the packaging. Most wood come in bags and makes the storage of them a bit clunky. The boxes make good use of space and can be stored in camping bins and bbq boxes much more efficiently. We store 3 different flavors of wood in the same box and only pack the 1 box. Anyone who grew up with the same tetris like mentality should relate. We also like the woodchips for pork. and the wine barrel chunks. The wine barrel chunks are perfect for beef!

I bought this to use as the boiler for homebrewing beer. It says 30 quarts which is 7.5 gallons. Plenty of room to brew 5 gallons of beer with out boilover. Wrong!!! The pot is only about 6.3 gallons. First batch, boilover! I'm very disappointed in their mislabeling of their product. I'm temped to return them the whole thing, burnt on brew and all. Also the steel is so thin, when they attached the handles the pot warped so the top doesn't lay flat.

Nicely constructed and strong enough for what I needed. The heating element base paint (coating) instantly began to char off upon first use and I'm sure this will lead to eventual rusting but I don't think that will be a major issue. The pot seems to hold up well so far. The timer is a bit annoying. I wish they'd make a way to bypass it. I'm using it mostly for home brewing beer and having to push the button every 15 minutes is just one more thing to keep track off as you are keeping timing on adding hops etc. All in all, well built and I think I'll get many good years out of it.

The stainless pot is a really thin gauge and dents easily. It also rusted a bit where the flame sits the bottom of the pot. Also I would recommend getting a unit WITHOUT the shutoff timer on it. The unit only stays on for 15 minutes and you need to keep messing with it and relighting it. I use this for making beer which requires the burner for be on for about 2 hours at a time. The 15 minute shutoff really sucks and you can't take the timer out.

I rate this product five stars due to a good cost/quality ratio. I use it for homebrewing.

Many complaints about large stockpots have to do with the quality of the handles. I have lifted this pot over 75 times with 12+ pounds of grain and 5.5 gallons of water in it and the handles remain solid as a rock. The metal is a bit thin but I have never scorched wort on the bottom and it cleans up great with a scothbrite pad. The only complaint I have is that when brewing a 5.5 gallon batch of beer, one must start with a pre-boil volume of about 6.5 gallons. This volume of wort is dangerously close to the top of the kettle and boilovers are a problem. This isn't really the fault of the kettle though, just be careful as you approach boiling temps and lower the heat as necessary. This is a great kettle for the money.

I must admit that I don' have a lot of experience using charcoal grills to make a true comparison since I have been using gas grills for the last many years. However this one is very well designed and easy to use. To start with the lid is hinged to the grill so you don't have to always look for a place to put it when you are working with the food. Then,take another look, the hinge is off to the side so you can open it and keep your arm safely away from the heat and flames. The grill rolls easily on its large wheels and pulls well when using its large handle.

Inside the grill there is a well designed stainless steel wire grate that actually folds for easy cleaning. The bottom flu has three positions (plus "off") for regulating air flow. The exterior is a black shiny enamel (or powdercoat) that is attractive.

So far I have cooked three great dinners that are a breeze with this (out of 3 tries).

Well, I have seen a lot of reviews about this cover being thin which it is, but I do not consider that a negative although the calling it "heavy dute" as part of it's name is misleading.

At this time as it is holding up to repeated wear and tear of taking it off and on well.

I don't know if it would stand up to winters in Michigan, but I don't plan on testing that anyway and it protects well from rain, dust, bird droppings, etc.

It does what it is supposed to do and was inexpensive, so I give it thumbs up.

NOTE: the Amazon description does not include dimensions. On the package it recommends that you measure first. It fits smokers that are 30" (76cm) across (perhaps including handles, not sure) and are 36" (91cm)vertically.

It's a bit big for my standard-sized smoker (about 20" across), so it is unflattering to its graceful curves, but good enough to be useful.

It is cheaply made, but looks like it will be suitable. I will update my report if it falls apart in use (like another reviewer said).

UPDATE (summer 2008) after 3 years of moderate use, the plastic has broken through on top just by sitting on the unit over winter (i.e. I did not cause the damage through improper use).

It is quite possible that a garbage bag would be enough to protect your grill. The main advantage here is that it fits a bit better, and has elastic to close the bottom a bit. It probably looks a bit better, if you care.

Useful and well fitting cover for smoker/roaster/grill that does a wonderful job of protecting the grill from the humidity and accumulated dust and grit. Small expense which lengthens the life of your grill for many years. Unprotected, your grill lasts only a year or two before it rusts and gets gritty. Put the grill away clean and you can use it right away. The cover takes well to a kitchen cleaner spray, a light scrubbing and hosing off.
