Slow going with this item, however, it does an excellent job of cleaning a grill, one metal rod at a time. Good for getting the carbon build-up under the grill rods too. Have used it on three different sizes of grills and it works well on all of them.

I added this grill scraper to the collection of devices we use in our commercial kitchen to see what would happen....when I left that establishment a few weeks ago I didn't have the heart to take my grill scraper with me. Everyone there uses it, even the owner who originally yelled about the appearance of yet another gadget in the kitchen. If I could make one suggestion it would be that it would be nice to have a grab handle/bar in the middle for additional leverage since we used the scraper while the grill was on (had to...we have a small grill and put out an average of 80-100 plates a night). Good for home and small restaurant use both!

Was looking to replace my 15yr old Weber, and wanted a 4 or 5 burner, but couldn't afford over a Grand for a new one so... I did a LOT of shopping around and research online. Turns out, just about anything under $500 or so either doesn't get very hot, or turns to rust in a year or two. I checked out models from Sears, Lowes, and Home-Depot

I came across this new model online and decided to take a chance due to the rave reviews of Dyna-Glo's other products. And also really likes what I could see in all the online pictures.

Pros:

Packaging: I was very impressed with how well this product came packed in the box. Every part individually packed. Not a ding or scratch to be found

Instructions: Very well written. Easy to follow. Took me & my son about an hour.

Construction: Appears to be made of quality materials; very will built. Everything fits nicely together; like it should. No flimsy materials.

The slide-out holder for the propane tank is a REALLY NICE feature. Most grills you have to wrench yourself into a pretzel to take the tank into/out-of the doors. Also makes it easy for opening / closing the valve.

The Slide-out grease-tray... on some other brands this does not slide-out, forcing you to take apart the Grill just to clean it.

Burners: They get Very Hot, Very Quickly

Design: Plenty of depth... what I mean is, some grills have the Warming Rack not far above the grates; this makes it tough to flip burgers. Not a problem here. Some grills also have the grease pan not far below the burner; creating flare-ups. Not a problem here. Just cooked Chicken & Burgers with NO flareups.

Price: Paid $435 from Amazon (no shipping or sales tax). Would have been another $100 from HomeDepot.com

Cons:

My only complaint is that the back of the lid has about a 2" opening for the length of the grill. On my old Weber, there was no opening. This was closed, creating a very hot Grill area. On this Grill, you can feel an enormous amount of heat escaping through the back opening. Can't imagine why they did that. Because of this, you will never see the Temp Gauge go over 450 degrees, maybe 500 if all 5 burners on high. Thinking of fabricating some kind of panel (sheetmetal ?) to enclose the back. Will let you know how that works out.

*** UPDATE ***

I fixed the problem of all the heat escaping out the back. I cut a 2" metal strip and screwed it into the back of the grill opening. Turn it on and it goes up to 700 degrees in about 10min. I turn 1 burner Off, put the rest on Low, and it maintains 550. Finally the Front of the grill now is just as hot as the Back. Now I'm satisfied....

Had my heart set on a Weber grill but couldn't get past paying $699.00 so I started researching for the next best thing. Boy I am sure glad I did. Found this beauty online for half the price. Took me about and hour and a half to put together. By far a well built grill indeed. This company sure did take a lot of pride in the building of this grill. Fires right up and cooks like a dream. You can't go wrong on this grill. Even when they send it to you it is well packaged with assembly pieces starting from beginning of instructions til the end. So here's your chance guys and gals to cook like the pros at half the price. Happy grilling!

Best Deals for Dyna-Glo DGE530BSP-D 5-Burner 62,000 BTU Propane Gas Grill

Like other reviewers I did quite a bit of reading on pros and cons of grills prior to purchasing this DynaGlo grill. Consumer Reports gave it an OK rating overall. For me, it's replacing a grill that is entirely stainless steel including the base/cabinet, etc.

A few things to consider:

1. There is a pretty big hole in the back of the grill where the lid meets the base. Another review mentions this and that owner devised a way to cover it. Prior to addressing this issue, I ran the grill for 15 minutes to determine how hot it would get. About 650 degrees. I then bought an Aluminum Kickplate for a door from Homedepot and cut it down to an an upside down L and installed it on the lid to cover the hole. The grill got to OVER 700 degrees in about 8 minutes. I am sure it's fine without this modification, but I prefer high temps for searing.

2. The pictures make this grill appear to be ALL stainless steel, including the base/cabinet. However, that is not the case. The base/cabinet is silver painted steel. The doors have decorative stainless around the edges, but the face is painted brown (not stainless). This is fairly obvious from the pictures, but you should know that those brown panels are NOT stainless.

3. The inside of the grill is not stainless. The bottom part where the burners are is a dark color painted steel. I imagine it will eventually rust.

4. The decorative Bronze painted panels for the lid and doors will rust. Despite being covered with a grill cover and placed under a covered lanai, my lid began rusting within 4 days. I think this is partially my fault but anyone could do it VERY easily. The handle has two "washers" that separate the handle from the face of the lid. The edges of these washers are sharp. Tightening the screws down on the handle too much will cause these sharp edges to puncture the paint and the lid will then rust very FAST. Be very careful about scratching these surfaces and over-tightening the lid handle.

Customer Service: I contacted customer service regarding the rust. They replaced the grill top. They shipped it within 4 days of my phone call. I called them 3 times to check on their status of sending the lid and asked each time for an email confirmation about shipping. This never happened, but they did provide a tracking number via the phone. Overall, the customer service seems fine, but then again it's very new and I admitted I would send it back to Amazon if the issue wasn't addressed quickly (I was within the 30 days for Amazon returns). In the manual it specifically states the grill is NOT covered by rust. So I would imagine after the initial 30 days, you'd just have to deal with the rust.

Some Pros:

Solid stainless grill grates. My old grill had these and after 8 years they were rusted, but worked perfectly. These are nice and typically outlast the grill.

Solid construction. Very sturdy grill once assembled.

Gas-Tank pull out is a really nice back-saver and prevents you from banging the grill against other surfaces that would cause scratches (rust)

Leaving off the Tank Exclusion Bar on the right side provides you with a nice spacious area for storing other grill related items.

Assembling was not too bad. It's time consuming, as it's a big grill. But the instructions are great and items are labeled very well. Instructions for installing the side-burner and side table are poor, but if you look at the holes it's fairly straight-forward on what to do.

5 Burners | BTUs | Gets hot fast

Price : Nice large grill with a good deal of stainless parts for a reasonable price in contrast to Brinkman, Charbroil, and other cheap brands. Also, it's at nearly 1/2 the price of most Weber grills in comparitive classes.

Nice looking unit

Customer Service seems pretty good

Even heating. Great cooking

Missing Parts on 1st order; AMAZON is amazing as always, taking care of the issue

Some Cons:

Not all stainless. Painted steel in many places (Cabinet, bottom part of grill, top of lid, and doors). While it looks beautiful, be careful about nicking these areas as they rust fast.

Other Thoughts

Personally, I would keep this grill covered. My last grill was entirely stainless steel, including the cabinet, lower basin of the grill, and burners . But, I learned the hard way and left it out in the rain. The burners rusted away within two years, despite being stainless. Most folks know these things, but new grill owners may think like I did -it's stainless! it doesn't need covered. But, depending on the grade of stainless that's used, and the fact that many parts are painted steel, this grill is best cared for by being covered. Amazon sells a Classic Accessories Veranda Barbecue Grill Cover (Medium fits this grill). I've owned this cover two times. It's excellent.

Stainless Steel Cleaner: It's a bit hard to find, but reading up on stainless cleaners and polishes over the years has led me to this product (not on Amazon unfortunately): Superior High Shine Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish. Really keeps the grill looking glossy, clean, and beautiful. Oil based too.

Very nice skewers that arrived very soon after placing the order.

I used the skewers and they performed well-meat and vegetables would not spin when turning the skewers over for reverse side browning due to the flat shape of skewer. A round skewer would have had problems.

We love these skewers, just the right length for roasting marshmellows. The handle never gets hot and they are easy clean up. We sit by the fire pit a lot with the grandchildren, taking in the stars and just enjoying each other. This was the perfect purchase...worth every penny I must say!

I ordered these for tail gating and have been more than pleased.

I've used them 4 times three times at home and at one pre-season game and can honestly say they are great. They are sturdy, certainly long enough to provide more than enough food for one, clean well, and look positively classy. I've used them for meat, vegies, and grilled fruit. They do well no matter what you put on them.

If you cook a lot of kabobs, I highly recommend these.

Honest reviews on Outset QB50 Stainless-Steel Skewers with Rosewood Handles, Set of 4

I purchased these skewers to make spiedies (a Binghamton, NY version of kebabs). I was having a family BBQ for about 15-20 and needed enough skewers to grill with (I bought 2 sets of 4). These skewers are strong, sturdy and can hold a LOT of weight without bending. I packed on the meat from handle to end and was still able to easily flip and turn the meat without it spinning (thanks to the flat blade) or the blade bending. I've also tossed these in the dishwasher once and no issues. The wood handles will turn black a little from the grill but I don't think this is a huge deal. You'll also need grill mits to turn the skewers as the handles can get somewhat hot but mostly it's cause your hands are close to the grill as you turn. I'd definitely recommend these to others!

These skewers are built nicely and are a very good length. I purchased them to prevent burning my hands when I turn kabobs like I do with the metal ones. These did the trick. The flat blades prevent the food from turning circles. They are easy to clean, also.

Seem a bit thin for the price especially where it covers the very top of the fire screen lid. Elastic too seems flimsy. Will it hold up to more than one year use?...we'll see.

Bought this fire pit for my husband's birthday and I love how it looks in my "patio pit" cover needs to be stretched to get it over, but after that it will stay in place, a great product and the price was very good.

This cover will do the job for a while, but I think it will soon fail

out in the sun. It is just made of single layer plastic and when the

sun shines on it the cover stretches badly in the center where

the loop handle for the top is pressing up against it. There needs

to be a reinforcing layer in the center.

We like this! It fit or fire pit perfictly could ask for a better price. Recomend this to anyone that is looking for a good cover..... Thanks

I don't know why this got so low feedback, but it really works to my family. I have been using one since 2008. It has no any problem for its function. While, it takes some labor to clean after every use.

Anyway, I am not sad giving that you can get it around 20$

I used this product one time and placed it on my kitchen counter. The next morning there was liquid on the counter under the brush. The batteries had burst and battery acid was leaking out discoloring my new quartz counter top. We have had to clean everything that may have been on the counter as my 2 year old plays in this area as we prepare her breakfast. She easily could have touched the liquid and then placed her hand in her mouth or eyes. This is a dangerous product and should not sold.

I purchase this and put the batteries in. About 15 minutes later I picked it up to give to my son it was red hot. I opened the battery compartment batteries were so hot they were actually melting and leaking a large amount of clear fluid. It burned like h----.

Used it and it worked three times, and now the pilot light comes on and no power. It does not heat.Called manufacturer and they wanted to ship replacement parts. They think the electronic parts failed or maybe the burner. Though they were helpful, we needed the smoker for a family reunion the day after it quit working. Contacted Amazon and they allowed me to return the item and only pay a 20% restock fee. I guess that is reasonable, but I cannot recommend this product.

the only problem that i had was trying to get the ignitor to bolt on. After much modifying to bolt it on, I couldnt get it to spark enough to ignite it, gave up .... we just use a long candle lighter. Probably should of bought the ignitor, maybe it is an updated one that just bolts on and works. otherwise it does work as a burner quite well.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I liked the item, the stainless is nice and thick. The mounting holes lined up perfect. The only thing I didnt like was there were no indentations or mounting holes for the ignitor mount like the original item. I can work around it but it turns a simple two wing nut install and two screws into needing a power drill and pliers to bend a tab and sawing off about 1.5 inches of the existing ignitor mounting bracket. the flange mount is also not like the original OEM item. the OEM is one piece. Overall not a deal breaker, but I dont like to lose functionality or have a 10 minute job turn into an hour of improvising. The quality if the stainless an or thickness offsets much of this.

I've owned this grill for 1.5 years. Couldn't be happier.

Other than my portable Weber Q200 (by the way, also an excellent grill), this is the first "nice" grill I've owned. I grill a lot. I've owned 3 middle of the road grills (CharBroil, Brinkman, $200 to $225 at your local big box), each of them lasting (with really good maintenance/care) roughly 4 seasons.. before the internal components eventually begin to rust out and disintegrate. I finally grew tired of replacing rusted out cast iron burners and cheaply coated porcelain grates and poorly functioning igniters. Plus, the grills never really performed very well. They all cooked unevenly, were hard to light, didn't perform well on windy days etc..

After much research, I was down to BroilKing or Weber.

My major problem with Weber (other than paying for the name), is they put the burner control knobs ON TOP OF THE SIDE SHELF! What the heck Weber?! I USE the shelves for food, condiments, drinks, utensils etc.. Try balancing a tray of steaks, or burger patties or brats on top of 3 knobs! I see Weber's new models (2011), beginning with the mid-level Genesis (starting price $700) they figured it out, and moved the knobs back to the front panel where they belong. But.. $700 is the STARTING price (the cheaper Spirit still has the knobs on the shelf).

Anyway.. back to the fully loaded BroilKing Signet 90 at $530ish.

Exceptional performance! The 3 stainless steel tube burners will CRANK some serious heat. During warm up it's easy to peg the gauge at 700 plus

degrees. Of course 700+ is really too hot to cook (steak at 550, burgers 500, chicken 400). But the 700 ensures a phenomenal sear on a steak or burger (as you dial back the heat). Also the controls function really well. They operate smoothly, lots of little "click points" for infinite control.

The stainless steel burner for the rotisserie is PERFECT to put a beautiful carmel/mahogany sear on a bird or two (or roast). And the included rotisserie components (motor, rod, forks) are heavy duty and work like a charm. The cast aluminum cooking box also does a superb job holding in the heat while spinning some birds, or a nice roast. It's also good at holding a consistent low heat for a nice rack of smokey ribs.

The side burner is also actually functional! It puts out enough BTUs to actually do some real cooking, even in a stiff breeze.

I'm hoping for 8 to 10 years of happy grilling.

After 1.5 years, I'm thrilled with the purchase. Solid as a rock, exceptional value. Those canucks up north certainly got this one right.

UPDATE April 23, 2012

Approaching 2.5 years of extensive use, still thrilled with the quality of the build and performance.

For the money, it's gotta be the best grill on the market.

This update inspired by... Salmon, fresh from the garden asparagus & grilled ciabatta bread.. heaven!

Try this unbelievably simple Ciabatta recipe:

Cut the ciabatta in half (Sam's Club has great ciabatta), drizzle the cut side of each half (liberally) with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic powder (or spread freshly roasted) and pepper. Grill just like a steak but cut time in half.. if at 550, quarter turn at roughly 2min & 2min (press down for even char) and flip for another 2min or so... outstanding.

Perfect accompaniment to.. everything!

By the way, it stills pegs the gauge at 700+.

What a pleasure to have to "dial it back" to 550.

Update, April 24, 2013 It's been a great purchase Still Happy.

Just took it apart for a thorough Spring Cleaning components are all still in great condition, stainless steel tube burners all solid, still fires up with a quick push of the igniter and still pegs 700 degrees.

Ok...it's not the *size* of a Weber Summit, but it does have the BTU per SQ inch ratio, a side burner, and a great rear rotisserie burner/kit. The Rotisserie kit is top-notch for it's size. The rear burner takes 5 seconds to install/remove, so you don't have to worry about it taking up space when you have a lot of burgers on the grill. Another way in which it compares to Weber is the warranty, and the Customer Support! Both are absolutely great. Upon arrival my box was a little dinged up, and the burner side panel condiment rack was slightly bent...and the plastic piece for the utensil hooks/handle was busted right off. I called Broil King up and they sent it out right away, no questions asked.

Assembly took about 2.5 hours from unboxing to firing it up for the burn-off. Diagrams were easy to follow, but be prepared if you are larger or have larger hands...some of the screws/nuts can be a little tricky to get to and tighten down. Once done, this thing is solid.

First firing-up results:

After 10 minutes it was hitting around 500 F...hot enough to start some good grilling

After 12 minutes it was about 625 F...now we're talking!

After 15 minutes the temp gauge couldn't register it...and it tops out at 700 F! If I had to guess, I'd say we were 750~800 F...dang that's hot! At this point the Flav-R-Wave vaporizers were a bright red ... wow.

I haven't had any real chance to get food going on this baby, but I can tell it's going to be much more consistent and have more even heating that my trusty old Char Broil Quickset (9 years old).

It's not the biggest kid on the playground, but it acts like it. If you feed 2~8 people, this grill will take good care of you and give you all the bells and whistles that a $1,200 Weber Summit has...and it will last for many years to come.

To those concerned about the '08 CG rating and subsequent voluntary recall Broil King is now including the baffles in all affected grills, which has proven to resolve the issue according to CG. Besides...who really cooks extremely fatty foods on a max temp setting (knowing that it is 700+ F) for any period of time over a few minutes. Anyway...you should NEVER leave a grill unattended...common sense people.

UPDATE:

I've now grilled about a dozen times on this baby, and man is it consistent across all burners! There is no discernible difference in temps, and I LOVE being able to truly do "indirect" cooking. I'm now getting comfortable enough with this grill to throw all my meats on at practically the same time and have it come out with great results. Everything gets a nice solid sear to it, and the grates...boy do they stay hot! I could never say that about my SS grates on my Char Broil. Can't wait to do rotisserie work...but that's going to have to wait for now. I never thought I would use the side burner so much!!! I find myself repeatedly sautéing onions/peppers/mushrooms to throw on steaks/burgers/etc. Now the wifey doesn't have to sweat that part...and we all know that the secret to a happy home is a happy wife, right?

All things said, I'm completely satisfied with this grill. Probably the best $400 I've spent in a while even after the aggravation that Amazon caused. Broil King's customer service has really taken care of the small hiccups. Considering this grill is basically a Genesis EP-320 WITH a rotisserie rack and cast-iron grates for approximately 1/2 the cost of the Genesis, this is a real bargain. I know the Weber folks are going to disagree on this one...but the only difference is (besides the looks) that the Genesis is 507sq in, and this is 400sq in. While this is true, the warming rack on the Broil King is almost twice the size of the Weber, which is really valuable to me, and the Broil King also has a better BTU/sq in ration (48,000/400sq in vs. 42,000/507sq in). This is going to equate to a grill that can burn significantly hotter, significantly quicker. For the $400 I'm saving (after the rotisserie kit), I might just spring for those Kobe ribeyes ... hehehe.

Best Deals for Broil King 986784 Signet 90 Liquid Propane Gas Grill with Side

First of all I really like this grill. It is well built, has folding shelves, (nice touch) and looks great.

I do have some quibbles however. I was considering taking two stars off for this, but decided the grill deserves 4 stars as it is a great value for the money once assembled.

First, the box that it comes shipped in is totally inadequate to protect it's weight during transit. The first one I received from Amazon was totally destroyed and had to be returned. The second one was delivered via common carrier and was in much better shape, but still had holes on the outside of the box and things were strewn all over inside. Fortunately, nothing was damaged this time.

Second the directions. They are terrible! You get no written instructions only pictures and they are cryptic at best. In fact the pictures show you putting the sides together with only 3 screws and bolts. (The problem is there are actually 8) Oh and wait until you try to put the nuts on the screws. They are in very difficult to get to places and I ended up having to use a needle nose pliers to hold the bolts just to reach the threads. This took me almost 45 minutes just to get these bolts on and I wasn't able to get them as tight as they should have been. (As it is almost impossible to get a wrench of any kind on the bolts) Everything else went together fairly easily until I couldn't figure out how the back rotisserie burner went on. The spring was off of it and we could not figure out how to attach it. The instructions didn't even show or mention a spring. We wasted almost 30 minutes until we finally figured out that the spring went on the venturi side of the burner and the other end pushed into two small holes on the left side of the grill. This could have all been avoided if the instructions would have just been clear. It didn't even show the spring part on the exploded parts list for the grill.

All told this grill took us 2 and 1/2 hours to put together. I'd estimate that we could have done it in less than half that time had the instructions been clearer and if they would have engineered the nuts and bolts to be easier to assemble. We still ended up having two extra nuts and bolts and have no idea if they are extra's or if we missed something somewhere.

We fired the grill up for the first time this evening and cooked some steaks. It did the job well. I'm hoping this grill will last. It has steel cooking grates which get very hot. The controls are very nice but we had trouble getting the side burner to ignite with the electronic ignition. (I ended up having to mess with the venturi and I finally got it to fire up) The rear rotisserie burner apparently does not ignite from the electronic ignition (even though it doesn't state this in the owner's manual) This isn't a big deal, but it would be nice if it pointed this out.

I really like how the propane tank sits hidden inside the lower shelves of the unit. The grill has a nice look to it with plenty of stainless steel on the front and sides. It looks like a quality grill once assembled even though it uses quite a few plastic parts. (At least plastic doesn't rust)

I would have rated this grill a solid 5 stars had it not been for the poor packaging and instructions.

Overall, I'd still recommend this grill as it is an excellent value for the money. If you do have it shipped, make sure it get's shipped via a trucking company and not by Fedex or UPS. It weighs well over 100 pounds and with the poor packaging, it will for sure get damaged in shipment if not carefully handled. Why the Company hasn't addressed the packaging by now is a mystery to me. Do they really think shipping out replacement parts to just about everyone is cheaper than packaging it better? I don't think so.

There are tons of reviews out there on these grills and most of the reviews I saw had damaged parts upon arrival. I applaud Amazon for changing carriers in shipping this grill to me. Using over the road trucking firms, (who are much more capable of handling large heavy items) saved my second grill from the damage it endured from UPS the first time around.

Thank you Amazon!

Honest reviews on Broil King 986784 Signet 90 Liquid Propane Gas Grill with Side

This review is for the : Broil King(Onward Mfg. Co.) Signet 90 LPG with rear rotisserie.

I want to start off by stating that, I rarely write reviews. But for this product I feel it is noteworthy.

First off; The shipping company was Homedirect, and everything arrived without even the slightest damage (which I was very concerned about, due to the large and heavy nature of the BBQ). We were very pleased with their handling of this item.

Secondly; The assembly was a breeze. I liked the use of combi-head phillips/square drive screws. If you have a #2 square drive bit and an electric adjustable torque drill/driver, it will be a breeze! Also a 7/16" open/box wrench and 7/16" socket, with ratchet etc., will ease in the assembly. Otherwise, a small Crescent(adjustable) wrench will suffice. The overall build quality seems pretty good, at this price range. The battery powered starter works well, although to light the rotisserie burner you will need to match light it(or some other flame source). Probably the only items I have issue with, are the burner control knobs. While they are nice and large, it seems as though the valve stems are a bit flimsy. So, be gentle( hence the 4 stars).

Next, is the initial burn off(first time fire up). There definitely were some gasses burning off of the BBQ( to be expected). Mostly from the lid(in between the stainless steel sheet-metal and the aluminum lid casting itself). It may be some residual oils, but it smelled like a hot paint. We've grilled on the BBQ three times, since the initial burn off, and I still notice a small amount of fuming emitting between the sheet-metal and the lid casting(although it is lessening with every use). Just to be clear; There are NO fumes emitting from within the cooking compartment! There are no adverse flavors being imparted to the food!

Now, down to what it's all about! Cooking! The BBQ pre-heats well within 10 minutes to 600°F! It also retains its heat very well.

The first items we cooked were some Cajun sausage links, from our local meat locker(butcher). Not a great test, but they cooked evenly and as one would expect. The next two items were cooked using the rotisserie unit.

We prepared a 4lb. beef roast, for Christmas dinner, and the rear rotisserie cooked this to a perfect med/rare in approx. 1 and 1/2 hours! Referring to the "Genius Griller's Handbook" that is provided with the BBQ grill, for some grilling techniques and times, it also provided us with much additional grilling info as well as recipes. Needless to say, Christmas dinner was made perfect with the excellent roast!

On New Years Eve we used the rotisserie again, to roast a 6lb. whole chicken in 1 and 3/4 hours. Again, the rotisserie unit performed flawlessly! The chicken was beautifully cooked all around, and remained very juicy! An excellent dinner to ring in the New Year!

We have yet to grill any steaks, chicken pieces, or veggies yet, but I can only assume that this grill will perform admirably. Also, we haven't used the side burner yet, but I did fire it up to make sure it worked. We are very pleased with this BBQ grill, thus far, and anticipate that we will get many years of use.

One last note; The company builds these grills in North America!

A Happy Griller.

We were really nervous about this arriving undamaged after other reviewers experiences. (and not finding it locally without driving at least 2 hours) Whew! I don't know if Amazon changed their shippers, but it did arrive with only a few small dents and scrapes that did not affect the contents. Amazon sent it via the ABF company, by which it sat on a pallet and was moved as the sticker on the box requested by "mech lift".

It took me about 2 hours to assemble, with the instructions being totally by picture. (I suppose it saved them having to put it in several languages? )

We haven't used the grill yet, so I will add more later. Just wanted others to know it was possible for it to arrive in good condition! So far so good!!

Let's face it, if you are going to spend over 1000 dollars on a grill, you need one very good grill cover and this fits the bill perfectly.

Not only does it protect the grill's sheen and surfaces, it actually hugs the grill and the grill shape still looks attractive, even with the cover on.

Also, we can't let anyone forget that the grill and cover were made by Weber (the best grill company on Earth) so, it has a good sized logo on the cover for everyone to be uber-jealous of!

All-in-all, a must-have for the Summit 625 and Summit 650 grills.

Great cover, excellent fit. Prices are going up however for these older bbq covers, and you can't find them everywhere anymore. Had to import mine from the us to Europe, as they are absolutely unavailable (or overpriced) over here.

If you have a grill that this fits, it is exactly what you need. This is because rain can get into the Summit 625/650. This will keep the rain out. It fits much better than other Weber covers that I have had over the years.

After a while I think all burner igniters fail.

This inexpensive unit fixed my ignition problem in less than 5-mins.

Well worth the investment when considering the option of replacing a $700 SS grill.

I had previously bought a 3 output and was very pleased to be able to convert my two ring gas burner and oven with great success. My wife then wanted the the gas water heater to have the same convenience. Found the single output and it fitted a dream. Now she is very happy as she can turn on any of the gas appliances with out any cross words. Would recommend with out hesitation.

We love this little thermometer. Mostly we use it in our deep oil fryer. We purchased a fryer for frying our fish and chicken which is only 8 inches deep. This is perfect to ensure that the oil temp is maintained between batches.

It cleans up very easily. It is easy to read. It is accurate. And serves our purposes. We purchased a second one to leave at the cabin, since it is easier to read and clean than the one we used to have up there. Would reccomend without hesitation.

I never buy anything like this that doesn't require "modification". This was no exception. The box arrived destroyed. It had been wrapped in plastic wrap to hold it togethor. The delivery guy understood however that I wanted to check it out before I accepted it so he and I tore it apart to see if there was any damage. Amazingly, all the parts were there and there wasn't a scratch. Unreal considering the condition of the box but I will count my luck. Assembly -the firebox comes in two pieces (top/bottom). One of the holes didn't align at all (front left if looking down inside the top door)and I had to re-drill it. No big deal. The washers are entirely too small in the firebox as well and will press right through the holes here as you tighten them up.....so I put larger more substantial washers all the way around the inside of the fire box. The bolts for the firebox are realllllly looooowwwww grade and soft metal as well. Since the firebox flanges don't fit well togethor (ultimately leaving about 1/4 inch gap between top and bottom halves), it would be good if you could tighten it down all the way around to close the gap a bit......but the bolts are too cheap and will shear before you get there. If I had known this before getting most of them in, I would have replaced all of them with higher grade bolt, nuts and washers. Not sure why for $607 they couldn't spend another $8 for proper hardware here? The 1/4 inch gap is not a big deal however because it is in the firebox and allows a bit of air into the combustion chamber. If it were in the cooking chamber it would not be good. The other piece that had to be modified was the temp guage hole. It simply wasn't big enough for the temp guage to fit....so it had to be bored out before it fit snugly through the hole. (again, not a big deal). Smoking the fire box is good sized and got proper air flow (this is the absolute biggest and most important piece with these things). It could use a grate at the bottom that has smaller openings so it will hold charcoal (the charcoal slides right through it as it is). I will be fabricating a tighter screen to place on top of the current grate (which shouldn't be difficult). I ultimately used a mixture of charcoal and wood for the fire. This will take a bit of study as I go to get the mixture right but I feel I was on the right path. The unit does leak around the main door just a bit, but again, it appears maintaining temp is not going to be too difficult because of the large firebox and proper openings for air in/out. All of offset smokers leak air to some extent. As with all offset smokers, this one could also use a convection plate that carries the heat further down towards the center of the cooking chamber instead of most of the heat coming up on the right side where the firepit hole is. I will be fabricating one of these as well (againshouldn't be difficult). I also wish the smokestack entered the cooking chamber down near the cooking grates. This would help force the heat and smoke to exit at a lower level (thereby smoking/cooking the meat better). The tendancy with exit holes this high is that the heat goes straight up, then over to the exit, bypassing the meat to some extent. I have only seen one offset smoker that got this point right however. I will maybe see if I can fabricate an exension of the pipe inside the smoker to lower its entry point. I see all of these things as items that I would have to do to almost every offset smoker out there btw. It did smoke a shoulder to 180 degrees over about 7hrs. I was playing with the temp the whole time however trying to figure out the best combination. All smokers will require a bit of a learning curve. The smoker as a whole appears sturdy and looks like it will hold a good amount of meat. I am probably going to mount two more good quality thermometers to it....right at the cooking surface with one on the right and one on the left so I can try and even the heat out from one side to the other with convection plate design.

The grill showed up in a torn box. When I put it together the two haves of the fire bow did not match up very well and there is a small separation in it to the point that I think it effects the temp in the firebox. The thermostat was also broken and is off on the temperature by 50 degrees. The rest of the grill is well constructed but I expected a lot more for 600 dollars. I would send it back if it wasn't for all the hassles, this is the first Smoke Hollow grill I have owned and I am not happy with it.

Perhaps to some who have reviewed, a box is what is REALLY important. Perhaps some lack the simple engineering skills to assemble a smoker correctly. I dont know, so I wont speculate.

What I can say, is this is a quality offset. Now having said that it is definitely not a Lang. It is also not $2,000. If you are looking for a smoker that is a better quality that what you can get at your local box hardware store, then this may very well be the one.

The steel is a higher, thicker quality. Again, not Lang, but definitely workable. The construction is solid, and durable.

This like most offsets, and like another reviewer mentioned, can use some modifications.

The pass through on most offsets create a hot spot on one side, and cool on the other. The construction of the vent pipe is a bit akward. This, like most offsets, has the temp gauge at the very top. (this has never made sense to me, as basic physics dictates that heat rises. If heat rises and pools at the top, how do you know what the true deck level temp is?)

Spend one day on a weekend, and a little extra cash, and you can make this smoker a competition worthy smoker.

Suggestions -

I hardly ever make my purchase without some reviews. I didn't on the hardwood, so now here is a review. Purchased two bags..... what I got was not as pictured. Came in two separate boxes, one badly torn and taped up the other o.k. Size 37 in. x 21 in.x3 1/2.Poor packing. The wood was in a simple thin clear plastic bag. One bag was old and breaking open with the wood more like kindling, not chunks. Could only salvage about six pieces, the rest in trash! Now the other o.k. box had the same plastic bag but looked much newer, not torn and the wood was "acceptable" fair sized chunks with a few small pieces. This I can use. Srangely the order seemed to come from two diferent places, as the E-mail was in two separate orders?? Final opinion.. I will not order wood from this seller as half the order was useless. Repeat: not as pictured. The good news is Amazon will make it right..... Thanks Amazon
