I decided this spring that I wanted to buy a charcoal grill. I have used a gas grill for years but I missed the taste of food cooked over charcoal that we used when I was a boy. When I bought the grill I decided to purchase all the accessories I could so that I could cook any recipe that came my way.

Growing up we had always eaten fish fried and I wanted to try cooking some on the grill. One of the reasons I bought the grill was to cook fewer fried meals.

This fish basket was exactly what I had in mind and it was the first accessory I used. I heated up the grill, sprayed the fish basket with Pam and cooked 6 tilapia filets over the grill, marinating them with a lemon-herb sauce I had prepared. They turned out perfectly and had a wonderful grilled taste I was hoping for.

The basket was easy to use and easy to clean up afterward. I am sure that I will use it repeatedly in the future.

I ordered these for tail gating and have been more than pleased.

I've used them 4 times three times at home and at one pre-season game and can honestly say they are great. They are sturdy, certainly long enough to provide more than enough food for one, clean well, and look positively classy. I've used them for meat, vegies, and grilled fruit. They do well no matter what you put on them.

If you cook a lot of kabobs, I highly recommend these.

I purchased these skewers to make spiedies (a Binghamton, NY version of kebabs). I was having a family BBQ for about 15-20 and needed enough skewers to grill with (I bought 2 sets of 4). These skewers are strong, sturdy and can hold a LOT of weight without bending. I packed on the meat from handle to end and was still able to easily flip and turn the meat without it spinning (thanks to the flat blade) or the blade bending. I've also tossed these in the dishwasher once and no issues. The wood handles will turn black a little from the grill but I don't think this is a huge deal. You'll also need grill mits to turn the skewers as the handles can get somewhat hot but mostly it's cause your hands are close to the grill as you turn. I'd definitely recommend these to others!

These skewers are built nicely and are a very good length. I purchased them to prevent burning my hands when I turn kabobs like I do with the metal ones. These did the trick. The flat blades prevent the food from turning circles. They are easy to clean, also.

this is the 3rd rib rack i've owned like this. it is without a doubt the best i feel is on the market!! i use the end spikes for potatoes, half ears of corn , and side chunks of pork roast along with the ribs, or boneless chicken breasts and boneless thighs when menu expanded. just takes some experimenting with timing the finish.. your product is the tops!!!!!!!!!!

These were purchased for our Jenn-air grill to replace oem product which lasted 6-7 years. They fit perfectly and were put into use March of this year. The problem is they have already begun to deteriorate. The outer layer of stainless is falling off. They look like they are about 5 years old. Very dissatisfied customer here. They should last at least 2-3 years for the price. Would be totally livid if I paid list price. Unfortunately these do not meet or exceed oem quality. I'm wondering if all the positive review customers have experienced similar problems after they have used these for a while. Contacted the company and they referred me back to Amazon customer service. The maker of this product is a apparently a horrible company. Apparently they offer no warranty whatsoever.

The cooking grates fit suitably well in my Jenn Air 720-0336 grill. They came well packaged and arrived on time. These grates are quite heavy but appear to be steel grids coated with a layer of stainless steel rather than pure stainless steel as the description seems to indicate. One of the grates, after a single use, shows signs of separation between the two layers of metal near the end of one of the metal bars. Closer inspection upon delvery may have exposed this flaw. I'm quite sure this separation of metal layers will worsen as soon as the now-exposed inner layer of steel begins to rust and corrode with the ingress of moisture and BBQ sauces. I regret this purchase due to the poor initial quality. I feel I should have tried the porcelain-coated, cast iron grids instead.

The first thing you need to know is DO NOT BUY THE WEBER BRAND COVER! Everything the reviews say about it is true! The vents are directly over the side tables and water comes right in. Weber makes a superior grill but their grill cover is substandard.

The Veranda grill cover is perfect! Heavy duty material, quality construction, covered ventilation areas to prevent condensation and looks good.

I bought the Weber Genesis E-310. For all those Weber owners wondering if they should get the medium cover or large cover, get the medium cover! I bought both and tested both. You won't be disappointed with the large size, but the medium size fits better. Don't worry, the medium size will NOT be too tight. The large size hangs over the side table ends a little bit more than the medium and because of this it probably sits a little closer to the ground. But with the medium size, all the seams line up perfectly with the grill table ends, top lid, and under grill storage cabinet. It sits low enough to the ground to completely cover the entire grill, but not look like you've thrown an oversized tarp over it. The medium size probably sits about 2 inches from the ground. the large size, probaby an inch and a half. Like I said, you won't be disappointed with the large size, but the medium just fits much better.

I just received the XXL Veranda BBQ cover. In the info from the manufacturer, they provide the following size chart:

Medium fits BBQs up to 58" wide and 26" deep

Large fits BBQs up to 63" wide and 26" deep

XLarge fits BBQs up to 70" wide and 26" deep

XXLarge fits BBQs up to 70" wide and 36" deep

I think this sizing info is more informative than what Amazon provides. My grill is, in its largest dimensions, 68" x 25". Although the XL might have worked, I am happy with the XXL size, it fits well.

I like the appearance and overall quality of this product. It seems to be well-made and functional. My only complaint is that they should have made the straps on the bottom (which attach around the grill wheels or legs) a little bit longer. Either that, or they should have made the whole cover a little bit longer. I can attach 2 of the 4 straps, which is quite sufficient. I'm glad I chose to get the XXL size.

As other reviewers described it, this BBQ grill cover is made out of excellent material--sturdy. In addition, I like other features, such as the ability to tie its four corners to the grill (so it won't fly away with wind), the handles that help you position it, and its pockets.

Great buy and it was worth the $10 more I paid over the previous one, which lasted three years, but I already know this one will last even longer.

UPDATE: It's been 2.5 yrs since I bought this item. From a distance it still looks good. Also, I still like the design. However, it already has a tear at the top. I am not sure the expected time it should last, but I think it should be more than 2.5 years . . .

This seems to be a very nice, heavy duty, well made cover. Its made from a woven fabric that could be canvas, but is more likely a heavy duty woven synthetic as is used for a laptop case or piece of luggage. The interior has what appears to be a vinyl layer to make it waterproof.

For securing it around the bottom, it has a stretchy drawstring, but I think its kind of useless. The fabric is very heavy and does not really want to wrinkle up like it needs to to make a drawsting work.

There are four small loops sewn into the bottom near where the legs of your gril should be. Through each loop is a short strap with a plastic buckle maybe 8 inches long or so. These straps are designed to buckle around the legs of your grill. But if you have a pedastal grill with no legs (like I do), you can remove the straps from the loops and use some other mechanism to secure the cover. For example, you could get some short bungee cords and connect the front and rear loop on each side to help hold it in place. In any case, because the straps are removable, it offers a lot of flexibility in securing the cover.

I am hoping Amazon will let me return this product, though I am 10 days past the return period. After only 2-3 weeks I started noticing that the large top panel was changing color while all other panels remained, completely uniform, in the original color. The degradation and color chage is sharply distinct where the panels are stitched together. The top panel is basically varying shades of yellow/yellowish brown now (WITH A COUPLE "DROPS" OF THE ORIGINAL WHITE), while the rest of the panels are the original off-white color. I believe this is due to the top panel not having the UV protection applied, because nothing else explains the distinct change in color where the panels meet (if it were dirt or heat etc, the color chage would be gradual across the seams). Amazon may be selling factory "imperfect" merchandise in this case. Beware this product because I do not think mine will last even one season.

UPDATE:

Amazon has shipped a new cover to me, free of charge (as long as I return the original) so all seemed good on Amazon's front. Unfortunately, however, I now have proof in my hands that the quality of this product can vary tremendously item-to-item. Although the Part Numbers, 73922, are exactly the same on both of the items' tags, the original cover I received is much heavier and far more sturdy than the replacement. They simply must be made at different Chinese factories or the manufacturing materials or specifications have changed. In the original, the material and plastic undercoat is just thicker, and the piping and seams use thicker threads and are more cleanly sewn. The replacement item came in a plastic bag ("Epack") while the original was in a box, and when folding each cover back down it's just clear as day that the original has a hard time fitting into the replacement's bag. Also, for whatever reason, someone clearly wrote the number "2" in two places on the replacement and a large line was drawn down the middle of the front I hope this is in chalk or something similar that will wash off with the rain, but it does make me wonder what the "2" means. Hopefully it lasts this time, but I'm willing to bet this quality variation is the reason some people are reporting ripped covers after one month while other claim it's the sturdiest cover they've ever had. I've owned two of these for quite some time now...I inject the Turkey the night before just like I do for our Cajun Deep Fried...Rub down the outside with Cajun Spices...Then I use a "Turkey Sitter" filled with plenty of peeled garlic cloves and beer to mount it instead of the holder provided...One full bag of Matchlite Charcoal and then about 3~4LBs of regular after an hour or two...JUST three hours and you'll have the juiciest and most flavorful bird you can imagine...Deep mahogany colored...Note: I make a wire handle, going under the wings to use as a "Lifter"...Guests are always amazed to see you lift out a full cooked bird...13~14LB birds are best...

These are currently $36 on Amazon and when you take into account that a cheap (re-usable) turkey roasting pan costs at least $20 this is already a bargain. But wait, this contraption will also allow you to cook your turkey without the use of a gas (or electric) oven and without using 5-gallons of frying oil! And the turkey will come out golden and delicious (with seasoning, of course.)

I could not find any information on what type of charcoal to use before opening the box. Inside, the instructions do state that this is not meant for instant light type of charcoal and advises against using it. For my first run, I wound up using a charcoal chimney with regular charcoal briquets mixed with lump charcoal. I filled my charcoal chimney about 80% with regular briquets and topped it off with lump charcoal. It took about 10 minutes for my chimney to get the charcoal ashy white. I put in the 13-lb turkey (dry rubbed with garlic pepper and herbs) and put the coals all around and let it sit for 2.5 hours.

The turkey came out moist and delicious.

The lump charcoal was still going strong (about 50% spent) in the pan so I combined them and snuffed them out so I could use them another time.

Great turkey contraption. I am looking forward to trying this with other foods and taking it camping!

My wife and I bought the Landmann Rocket Roaster at TSC (Tractor Supply Company) on sale for $15.95. We opened the box and took everything out. I kind of wondered about the thin sheet metal and the tapered cylinder was slightly out-of-round. This can be tweaked by hand. But mine is still slightly out-of-round. My wife bought a 14lb turkey that we thawed in the refrigerator for a couple of days. I couldn't believe that this thin sheet metal cooker would really cook that big of a turkey ... no matter the time limit. However, I trimmed the neck-flap skin, removed the giblets, rubbed the turkey with sage, and put it on the tripod stand. I loaded plain charcoal around the base (my wife nixed the tinfoil liner idea) and put a generous amount of charcoal on top. The local dollar store didn't have charcoal lighter fluid, so I had to make a 6-mile trip to the nearest supermarket. I sprayed the charcoal with the starter fluid, lit it with one of those gas/piezo starter things (keeping my fingers safely away from flames), and when I started seeing gray ash on the corners I used a couple of hotpads to lift the top off .. inserted the turkey .. and put the top back on. I forgot to pick some rosemary from the garden and put it in the infusers before I started the fire. So, I just left it alone and went to watch a movie. I figured that when all was said and done, I could roast it in the regular oven or my Flavor-Wave oven. 2 hrs 45 min later (yes, I forgot and it ran over-time), I took the top off and removed the turkey. I was greatly surprised to find it extremely well done! The drip pan in the bottom was filled with juices. Everything smelled wonderful. When we cracked through the dry skin, more juices poured out. Tender, delicious, and well-cooked. I can't wait to use the Rocket Roaster basket for a beef roast and some vegetables. So, the construction wasn't absolutely perfect, but the product (Rocket Roaster) works extremely well (with only $2 or less of charcoal).

I purchased the Rocket Roaster the other day and was excited to use today. 2.5 hours later, I pulled out the 7 pound chicken and it was a golden brown color. I let it rest for 15 minutes and cut off a leg. The meat was moist, tender and flavorful due to the garlic and hotsauce injection. The only dissapointment was the meat was slightly smoked. I will try to use finer and dried woodchips next time to see what happens. The good thing about this product, anyone can cooked a great looking bird that is moist and tender. I cant wait until Thanksgiving and load it with a 14 pound turkey.
