Using this regulator as a replacement was easy and my cooker now is better than when I first bought it. Highly recommend this product.

I required a 10PSI regulator for my application so I purchased this regulator. I have found that I need to close the control valve on the regulator to allow my generator to run properly. The generator requires 10PSI of propane to operate properly and by having to close the control valve on the regulator either the valve is NOT outputting 10PSI or there is a problem with my brand new generator. At this time I am holding both in question hence the two stars for the regulator (generator got two stars as well). I will update this review once I find out which item is the culprit.

1/16/2013 UPDATE.

Well I've used the generator and regulator during a power outage and they both worked well. I did however still need to adjust the valve shut off slightly to achieve the 10PSI my generator required. I would recommend this regulator ONLY because the regulator has a shut off that can be used if the output pressure isn't as low as you might need it.

I've had better units like this. Its very slow to read temps. But it is very accurate. Wish it would have a gauge on base rather than a beep when its done.

I bought this just to see how we'll it works since I just bought a new infra red grill , at first I didn't believe it worked and then I compared it to a old school one and the temperatures were very similar , this would be useful for people who rarely BBQ

It has a lighted screen, an alarm and a real plus a LED LIGHT THAT SHINES RIGHT ON WHAT YOU'RE COOKING!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Cuisinart CTF-615 Digital Temperature Fork

This is a very poor device. It boasts that it has a light so you can see what to stick it in, but BBQ flames give you enough light for that. Where it needs a light is on the display at night you can't see it at all and it doesn't illuminate.

Also, while it beeps at you when the meat is at (or above) temperature, it doesn't tell you what the set temperature is? You may be only one degree below but you get no indication from the fork at all. Or you may be 15 degrees above. Why not include the target temperature as part of the display??

Finally, it is really slow in reading the temperature. The BBQ cools down significantly waiting for the fork to read the temperature.

This is a very poor implementation of this type of tool. One star.

I ended up buying both the Lodge and Cajun grills so here is my comparison of the two. The most noticeable difference is in the quality of the casting. The Cajun is made in China and is shows. The grill grate has small bubbles and imperfections that don't exist on the Lodge. Overall the cast iron is simply inferior on the Cajun. The access door to the ashes is very poorly designed and falls out easily. I am sure it will break one of these times when it hits the patio concrete just right. I bought the Cajun because it had a larger grill surface. If the larger grill surface is important to you then go with the Cajun. Both do what you expect a cast iron hibachi to do....there is nothing that compares in my opinion. Bottom line, the Lodge is a noticeably higher quality and better designed product but they both do the same thing. Both manufacturers placed large medallion logos in the middle of the grill surface....not a good idea....messes with the all important grill marks.

This grill is bigger than it looks, yet, surprisingly light. The item arrived quickly and very well packaged. I'm impressed with the vendor and with the product. There were no reviews posted when I purchased this, so I hesitated (about 3 months) before purchasing, and am happy to report just how pleased I am with this. Additionally the construction, cast iron pieces, is excellent, as well as the sturdy handle, which tucks conveniently away when not in use. You can see it in the photo, a detail I had originally missed.

I had also shopped for the Lodge model most similar, which is in all the stores locally, as well as the Braai grill (at twice the price) Potjie Braai Hibachi.

Honest reviews on Cajun Cookware Grills Round Seasoned Cast Iron Hibachi Grill

The best grill I have ever owned. It's bigger than it looks and will cook a lot of steak, burgers, or vegetables in short order with nice grill marks. You can even sit a Dutch Oven on top for cooking stews or noodles.

I have an endless supply of windfall oak branches in the yard. I got a Cajun Cookware Grill Round Cast Iron Hibachi Grill. 14 1/4 inch diameter cooking grill. 11 1/2 inch diameter fire grill. I made a small wood fire and waited for the fire to change to glowing charcoal. I oiled up the food grill. Immediately put on the food grill and heated it up for five minutes till it began to smoke. Oiled up the grill again. Immediately put on a small steak. Steak came out great. It was well seared. Grill cleans easily. Had to move fast because a wood fire doesn't produce much charcoal and it burns very quickly. I think I would have to add store bought charcoal for bigger meats or longer cooking.

I hardly ever make my purchase without some reviews. I didn't on the hardwood, so now here is a review. Purchased two bags..... what I got was not as pictured. Came in two separate boxes, one badly torn and taped up the other o.k. Size 37 in. x 21 in.x3 1/2.Poor packing. The wood was in a simple thin clear plastic bag. One bag was old and breaking open with the wood more like kindling, not chunks. Could only salvage about six pieces, the rest in trash! Now the other o.k. box had the same plastic bag but looked much newer, not torn and the wood was "acceptable" fair sized chunks with a few small pieces. This I can use. Srangely the order seemed to come from two diferent places, as the E-mail was in two separate orders?? Final opinion.. I will not order wood from this seller as half the order was useless. Repeat: not as pictured. The good news is Amazon will make it right..... Thanks Amazon

As with so many other reviews of this item, I also got the wrong item when it was shipped to me. I sent it back, only to pay a restocking fee. Not happy. When I'm sent the wrong item, I certainly don't expect to pay a restocking fee.

The product looked like it was good quality, but I would have preferred to receive what I ordered.

I looked on the Brinkmann website to get the part number for my BBQ (model 1415). The Brinkmann website lists the replacement part number as 600-7100-0 and the description of this states it's an equivilant for that part. It's not. These are too long. Either Brinkmann is messed up or the description of these is off. Measure your heat shields before ordering these to be sure they are the right ones. The picture gives the dimensions as 16 3/4 X 3 7/8ths. I did not see this before I ordered and did not think I needed to measure since the part numbers matched. Measure, measure, and measure again and it might work out for you.

Sent these back...

They did not fit. Had to be cut to size, they were supposed to fit my grill but were agout 1.5 inches too long.

Honest reviews on 97311(4-pack) BBQ Gas Grill Heat Plate Porcelain Steel Heat Shield

I ordered this because in the description of the part it showed Brinkmann & Charmglow Part Number: 600-7100-0 which is the part Brinkmann gave me. This is not the same part. The Brinkmann part is adjustable. If you look at it on their site look in the installation procedure. Here is where you will see that it is adjustable. That is why it is not the same. This product is not adjustable. I have a pro series 4675 and the ones sold here are over 4 inches to big. Brinkmann should put that in their decription that it is adjustable. There are flaws in the description on both Brinkmann and BBQ factory.

The measurments given in the description (16 3/4 x 3 7/8) were correct. I measured the heat plates from my Charmglow grill before ordering these to ensure they would work. Only gave 4 stars because I'm not sure how long they will last. The original ones on my grill only lasted about 3 years. These don't seem any more sturdy so I expect about 3 years out of these as well.

I am an experienced BBQ'er from Kansas City, with my own smoker. I bought the Orion for our vacation house. In my opinion, the Orion makes BBQ 90% as good as the very best, and it's MUCH easier and faster. We have made brisket, spare and back ribs, turkey, and goat, all with great results. You don't get quite the "smoke ring" of the best conventional bbq, but you get more moisture. A lot of my guests liked "Orion bbq" better. And it doesn't smoke up the neighborhood.

Key points:

1-Follow the instructions exactly, at least to begin with

2-Smoke flavor comes from the wood you put inside; the side of the wood against the outer edge will char.

3-The container is sealed, so the charcoal on the outside is irrelevant to the flavor of what's happening inside. If you use insta-light charcoal for maximum convenience/laziness, the flavor inside will NOT be affected.

4-I don't think you'll ever need extra liquid in the bottom

This thing ROCKS!! We've used it for a 21 lb turkey, tri tip roasts, ribs, Pork roast, Bratwurst, even our 1&1/2 inch thick pork chops! No need to turn/baste the food, Put your meat on any/all of the 3 grates inside, fill the ring and the top hopper using 1 bag of ready-light type charcoal, light it and walk away (for the recommended times in the included cookbook). This makes an awesome smoker by adding a handfull of hickory or mesquite chips to the area around the drip pan. Since the fire itself never touches the wood chips, they burn nicely making the perfect amount of smoke inside the cooker. Our 21 lb turkey was done in 2 hours and 5 minutes, was moist and had a great mesquite smoke flavor to it.

I got mine at Bass pro shop, and we have had 4 of our friends buy one after tasting food from ours. The stainless discolors with use, but doesn't rust and it doesn't affect the unit's cooking or smoking abilities. Well worth the money.

Best Deals for Orion 101 Convection Cooker

With family holidays approaching and a desire for me to feed them without spending 4 days chained to the oven, I purchased one of these suckers.

It was easy to assemble, thankfully normally, my assembly processes are fueled by profanity, bruised appendages, and eventually, whiskey. I had this up and running in about 15 minutes, though.

My first attempt was to really put it through it's paces, with one of the mroe difficult cuts of meat to get right a beef brisket. Worse, it was a cheap beef brisket bought from a grocery, trimmed of fat, a little on the small side, and generally not the kind I normally get before I BBQ things.

I gave it a quick rub, put it on the grate, put the top on, and proceeded to light the charcoal. I adjusted the cooking time by proportionality the instruction booklet lists 5lb and 12lb briskets, I only had a 3lb sat back, and waited.

A little over an hour later, it was done.

At first, I was concerned that it lacked the smokiness I had come to love about a good BBQ brisket. I had loaded the thing with hickory chips after all. I realized that the main difference was that with my normal smoker, enough smoke leaks out that the whole neighborhood can smell smouldering wood, whereas with this thing, it's pretty sealed up. Once I got up close and personal with the meat, it did have a fair amount of smoke flavor and aroma, although not as much as when I actually use my smoker (although I didn't smoke my clothes, hair, and nostrils in the process).

The meat was tender. Not quite the falling-apart, oh-my-god tender a good 12 hours in a low smoker can get you, but it was good enough for some brisket sandwiches and I simply can't argue with the fact that it was done in an hour. Didn't quite get the nice crust on the outside that a dry smoke will give either, but even with my smoker I've never quite gotten that right.

I figured that giving it a small, overly lean, underseasoned brisket would be a pretty rough test on the new cooker a good rub hides a multitude of sins, and a good fatty brisket isn't as apt to dry out and the Orion performed admirably. As mentioned, it wasn't the best brisket I'd ever had, but for an hour of my evening and no constant checking and flipping, I'm well-impressed.

On the downside, it pretty much requires an entire bag of charcoal per run, which can add up after a while. I don't intend to use this for day-to-day grilling, though, so this won't be as much of a problem.

I'm excited to try it out on poultry, which should be an easier task.

Honest reviews on Orion 101 Convection Cooker

works as advertised, only con is using a large bag of charcoal. i have had many store bought smokers over the years, they have all rusted away from sitting outside, a year later the stainless steel orion smoker is still looking good. if your looking to smoke a decent size batch and have near perfect results every time you can not go wrong with this smoker. holds a 20 lb turkey very well, and six racks of ribs fit with room to spare. search google for the owners manual to check out the recipes and cook times.

i have used mine about forty times now, have never had a bad meal yet.

here are a few tips on operation of the smoker.

-use kingsford charcoal if smoking more than an hour and ten minutes. the generic brands do not burn near as long.

-you will want to find a wind protected area to use the smoker. gusting winds will not distribute the heat evenly.

-try using apple, cherry, or another light smoking wood (can be found at lowes), hickory and mesquite can have a very smoky effect in this unit. i usually use a blend of hickory and apple or cherry.

-when doing ribs, i will throw a chicken or two on after the ribs are done, still plenty of coal life to cook them.

-put foil on the bottom side of the turkey or chicken when using the poultry stand to minimize over cooking of the skin.

-water is not needed in the drip pan for most meats. when you pull the lid off one to four hours later, you will get a blast of steam that is the juices of the meat!

-do not peak, leave the lid on the entire time.

please comply with your local outdoor burning regulations, the coals will stay hot for ten to twelve hours, not hot enough to cook with but enough to potentially start a fire.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Orion 101 Convection Cooker

This cooker does a great job with most meats, although I would not use it to cook ribs. The people who are saying it does a great job with ribs obviously have never had ribs the way they were meant to be! Case in point, you cook the ribs by hanging them on these metal hangers...ribs that are cooked correctly (SLOWLY) would never actually stay secure on those hangers, they would eventually fall apart and fall off the hangers. In addition to the ribs, I've done chicken wings, whole chickens, a turkey and a pork loin, and they all came out fantastic.

I'm surprised no one commented on the amount of charcoal needed...15 lbs!?!?! I actually use a whole 13.5 lb bag, but even that in my area runs around $10 for the matchlight stuff. So that's $10 alone in just "fuel" every time you want to use it.

Overall, the cooker is very well made, does a great job with meats (just not ribs!), but is not perfect.

The bourbon barrel chips are alone worth the cost. After soaking them you can smell the bourbon whiskey , makes an amazing steak

Best Deals for Mo's Smoking Wood Chips-Variety Pack

Package came in pretty quick, was well packed and no bags were torn. Items looked exactly like the photos.

The variety was nice and the size of the bags can't be argued. But the chips were smaller than I expected and burned up faster than I expected. What I did to offset was just to soak them in some water for a while and that helped slow the burn rate. This was kind of a 'familiarize' myself with a couple of different wood types and I the large size of the bags will allow me to do so.

Finally, if you 'really' look at the image in the Amazon ad, it does show the actual sizeof the chips so its not like they falsely advertised. I guess it all depends on whether you prefer larger or smaller pieces to burn.

Happy smoking!
