Alpha 2102 Propane Regulator Review

Alpha 2102 Propane Regulator
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

I replaced the line and regulator that come with an outdoor Wok burner. I had fiddled with the original regulator when I had a problem lighting the burner. Turned out to be a problem with a full propane tank. After that I didn't trust the regulator so I purchased this one. It works fine.

I made the mistake of ordering this product along with a BUNSEN BURNER, LP GAS WITH THREADED GAS NEEDLE VALVE. The Alpha 2102 regulator has a brass fitting that will not allow it to be used with Bunsen burners that have barbed hose attachments. Even if you cut the brass fitting off, the inside diameter of the hose is too large for most barbed Bunsen burner fittings.

In addition, the unit I received had a permanent kink in the hose where the hose connects to the regulator. The hose was folded tightly in the packing, causing the kink. I could not work out the kink to make the hose round -the tubing had been kinked to the point where the tubing was not only permanently kinked but also discolored (whitish), indicating the tubing was damaged. Even if this item had fit my Bunsen burner I would've returned it because I would not trust the hose with a flammable gas.

I ordered this for my husband because he frequently complained that it was difficult to prep and transport our kebabs from the kitchen to the grill without the skewers sort of rolling around a lot. I was apparently having an airhead moment when I bought this because I actually did not realize that this rack is intended to go on the grill itself and hold the kebabs off the grates! Yes, you can tell who does all of the grilling in my family!!!

Ok, so on the basis of using this as I intended as a place to put your skewers in preparation for grilling, and as a way to transport them from the kitchen to the grill this works perfectly. My husband is able to carry a dozen+ skewers on this, without them rolling around or rolling off onto the floor. He lays down the initial six skewers, placing them into their notches on the racks, and then he can begin stacking additional skewers in between those, building up a "pyramid" shape by putting additional skewers in between each gap. This works great for us, and we don't have skewers trying to escape!

Now my husband unlike me understood on sight exactly how this item was supposed to be used: as a means to grill your skewers without laying them on the grates of the grill. So he did try using it in that manner with a batch of Shish Tawook chicken we were grilling on skewers. He did not feel this item was well-suited to its actual intended purpose. He noted that it's actually kind of difficult to remove it from the grill with the skewers still in their grooves... that it's awkward to transport after it has been heating up on the grill. He also was not pleased with the quality of actual grilling the meat received when suspended on this rack. He ended up taking each skewer off and placing them directly on the grates again.

This item receives four stars from me because it works perfectly as "I" intended it to be used and so I'm pleased... but seems to poorly execute it's actual, stated intention and the function it was actually designed to fulfill. In other words you'll love it if you want a rack to move skewers from the kitchen to the grill... but I'm not sure you'll be pleased with it if you actually try using it ON the grill.

The skewers are flat, but not wide enough. Some foods (like tomatoes) will still spin.

The rack is not "deep" enough. Any food chunks over an inch, will sit on the grill, not the holder.

Otherwise, it works well.

I saw this product on line and liked the manufacturer's marketing bluff, hurried to Cabela's in Indiana. The item was not on display so I figured for the price it's worth a try, got it home made my kebabs and got the grill nice and hot. I assembled the meat on the skewers and then onto the rack.

Now I am watching the meat stick to the grill, tried to turn it but the meat keeps on spinning , I tried to use tongs and forks etc. but nothing is working. Finally I had to face reality and take the skewers off the rack and put them directly on the grill.

The rack itself is flimsy and cheaply made, the rack lacks depth , it allows the meat to contact the grill at all times , the skewers are not flat enough to stop the meat from turning. cheap , cumbersome and toy like gadget.

Honest reviews on GrillPro 41338 Stainless Steel Shish Kebab Set

Purchased directly through Amazon, I never inspected this product in a retail store. The first thing that struck me when I opened the package is how thin the metal it is. Closer inspection suggests it isn't stainless at all or a VERY low grade of stainless. As someone with a materials engineering degree, the first thing I checked was to see if is non-magnetic. This metal in the GrillPro 41388 is HIGHLY magnetic, which is possible for some times of stainless steel but unlikely for a consumer product like. Moreover, I can't find the word "stainless" anywhere on the box.

My first use of the kabob rack at a birthday party was particularly cumbersome because of the lack of a locking mechanism between the two folding halves. If you are prepping large kabobs,I would never take this kabob rack loaded to the grilling area. You may drop your painstakingly created masterpieces.

My advice: avoid this product entirely no mater what your budget is and get a better rack that is one piece and has handles.

Cons

Thin, low quality metal

Folding and cumbersome

No locking mechanism between the folding halves

Pros

None

The skewers work great. The frame that holds the skewers don't do a thing. The skewers, with food loaded on there, will just freely rotation by themselves so the heavy side is towards the grill. I ended up not using the frame holder and just put the food directly on the grill and that was way easier to manage.

Just buy the skewers but not the frame.

I have an older Weber kettle-style grill that had wooden handles on the sides and lid -all three crumbling from age. But the grill itself works beautifully, so I didn't want to scrap it. 30 seconds to put these plastic handles on with a screwdriver, and my grill is like NEW again. Fantastic.

I bought two of these to replace the old wood handles, that came on my Weber Kettle 15 years ago. The discription is "Lid Handle". I used it also to replace the handle on the side of the kettle. I also suggest a cheap vinyl cover to protect your grill.

old wooden handles just don't compare to the feel of these new handles. no worries anymore about accidentally touching hot metal either.

Honest reviews on Weber 3619 Lid Handle

We ordered 2 of these handles for a very old weber and they are great as the side replacement handles. Apparently all of the handles are interchangeable (2 sides and 1 for the top). Saved it from being trashed. Good delivery times as well. Thank you!

Simply stated, these handles replace those old rotten wood handles that leave much metal exposed which lend to easy burned fingers! Buy these and get the safety you need.

These handles virtually cover all the metal on the two sides and the top with rugged and attractive white plastic bearing the Weber logo. Also a plus is that they are easily installed with a Phillips screwdriver. These handles can be used not only for the lid, but for the two side handles on any Weber "Kettle" style grill. Most grills would require the purchase of 3.

This grill has an inter shell which supports the burner, heat deflectors and the radiant glass. It is not stainless steel and will completely rust away even if you use the TEC cover when not in use. It basically turns into an useless piece of junk. Life span 3 to 4 years max. Not much for that kind of money. Don't bother contacting TEC...they do not want to hear from you.

I've had my G-Sport for 3 1/2 years. Before I had a conventional grill which I rarely used because it took so long to cook. This TEC not only is quick but gives you the juiciest piece of meat you'll ever have. This is the same technology that Ruth's Chris' uses, except it's better. The G-Sport also cuts down low so you can cook chicken, ribs, and even turkey. Totally Awesome.

I am not an expert but a consumer that does a lot of research before buying something like this. This model has many improvements over the "Non-RF" model:

1) Wheels that work when the unit is tilted, (caveat: the slide on grease drip tray must be removed before you can tilt and roll.)

2) A light inside the unit, (caveat, It's a little hard to see the meat with the smoke and smoke "grim" on the inside of the huge window but still very nice feature.)

3) The meat thermometer. It is a real needed item on this type of smoker. You never have to open the door to check the temperature. *I double checked it against my own digital thermometer and it runs true within a degree or two.

4) A handheld remote control. No AAA batteries included, (2 req.) You can program the time & temp as well as check the meat probe temp & switch the light on & off. You cannot see the current temp of the smoker, i.e.; watch it rise to the temp you set. To do this just look at the display on top of the unit for this info. Speaking of the top digital unit; it automatically alternates between the time left on the smoker and the current temp of the smoker. To see the meat probe temp, just push the temp button once.

The unit is well insulated and comes up to temp well within a reasonable time, (outside air temp = 46 degrees. The smoker came up to temp of 225 degrees within 17 minutes.) The unit appears well built and of solid construction. I did have a small warpage of the bottom back portion of the back metal panel. This impeded the grease tray a little. This could have been due to the shipper, (Fed Ex) but the unit very well packed. Assembly took 15 minutes. Very simple. The chip tray feature will lock in place after you dump a load into the smoker and the alignment mark for new chips is an easy step to miss when reloading, no bigge. It uses no more than one cup of chips at a time and seems to take a while at 225 degrees to burn them. The racks, water pan, grease pan all are easy to remove and somewhat easy to clean. The nice feature of the bottom grease pan is it is tilted to the back grease trap and comes out for easy cleaning. Overall, I like to keep my tools clean and I spent 15 minutes cleaning this unit, not bad.

I smoked two racks of baby back ribs last night and the unit seemed to cook it faster than expected. The internal temp was reached prior to the time I set. Of course it is not an exact science but the ribs were well smoked and delicious. I used hickory with some mesquite chips and the smoke flavor was strong. Mesquite sucks as opinionated by a lot of "experts." I also smoke some pork bellies, (bacon) that I had cured and they will be tried tomorrow after a 24 sit in the fridge. I am now smoking a brisket and we will see how it does. All in all I am very pleased with this unit and all the new features. I am really liking the fact that I can check the internal temp of the meat by using the remote. I can be doing something elsewhere and always click the "meat probe" button on the remote and know when its time to stop the smoking process. pros: all the features that you want from a smoker of this caliber, well built and good smoke. Cons, can't see the current temp of the smoker on the remote, just the "set" temp. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a smoker in this class.

I'm very pleased with this unit and have been using it a great deal. So far I have smoked eight racks of beef ribs, two sirlion tip roasts, hot peppers, corn, and black tipped shark!

I love my beef roasts rare and really appreciate how easy it is to get good results with the temp control and the internal meat probe this unit has. The remote control allows me to keep a close eye on things without being tied to the thing. A very nice feature.

I feel that this was a good purchase and represents an excellent value. It will see a lot of use!

***I just wanted to add a quick edit*** here to address what some others have been saying about the remote control.

While it is not obvious, you CAN get the temp reading for the inside of the smoker on the remote and it can be done in two ways:

Either push the temp set button twice which will cause the readout to flash between the temp setting and the actual temperature inside the smoker for ten seconds or so.

The other and best way is to press the meat probe button once which will cause the meat probe reading to be displayed and then smoker temp set and actual smoker temp reading to alternate on the remote display. It does not matter if you are actually using the meat probe for this to work.

The issue of the window getting too dirty to see through is a bit over blown. I find it easy to clean with some warm water and mild dish soap. The grime softens as you repeat the task of wiping it down a few times. The same thing for the light.

Hope these tips are helpful for everyone to fully enjoy this gem of a smoker. I love it more with each use.

Best Deals for Masterbuilt Model Electric Smokehouse with Window and RF Controller

Step 1:

I thought it would be cool to do a step by step assessment of this product. Sometimes I love something the first week and it sucks week 2.

OK, for the unpacking and assembly of the unit. 15 minutes. No screws missing, good instructions, no misalignment of screws. No "what the heck is THIS for?" Well packaged. Good assembly instructions.

Seasoning. Cooked for 3 hours at 275. Took about 30 min to reach that temp. Added wood at about 2.50 hours. Everything went perfectly. Smoke started within 3 minutes (dry hickory chips).

Reviewers note: I own a Masterbuilt electric turkey fryer. I only use it to steam fish, lobster and other seafood. It works great with turkey. It is just I cannot stand the smell of the oil. Most people cant smell it. I can. Buth the unit works perfectly.

BTW, the BBQ guy, John McLemore pushes his recipe book everywhere in the purchasing process. Normally, I find this stuff worthless, but John works up some really good recipes, from Low Country Boil stuff to smoked Prime Rib. $19.95 at my pals at Amazon. Worth the investment.

This weekend, doin ribs.....wish me luck y'all! Will report back.

Step 2: Smoking

I did two slabs of ribs. The unit worked perfectly. The remote control is awesome! I was controlling things from 80 feet away, checking on temp etc. I used MUCH less wood chips than I did my trial run and the taste was fabulous. Less is more when it comes to how much wood to use. I used two tray fulls of hickory. You can always add more flavor later with hickory sauces or salt, but if you use too much smoke.....yuck. Takes some experimenting, and what is so cool with this unit is that it is soooo easy.

Warning: the remote has an on/off button. I thought it was just for the remote. But if you press it, it turns the UNIT on/off in addition to the remote. The instructions never told me this.

Cleanup: the only thing I clean up is the drip pan, water pan, the racks and the glass. Have to do this anyway with any other grill, except the glass. I squirted windex on it and voila, good as new.

Con: the only one besides the remote issue is the drip tray. You have to make sure the unit is tilted back enough to let the grease drain into the pan. Otherwise it leaks through the front. I put a 2" piece of wood on the front legs rather than try to tweak the adjustable wheels. Worked fine.

All in all, a very impressive, easy way to get into smoking!

Step 3: Smoke the heck out of it!

I have tried everything from potato salad smoking to pork loin to brisket. Unit totally dependable, remote control works flawlessly (see above) and the glass IS easy to clean with Windex. Look, I watched from afar, never thought I could smoke food. This makes me look good.

UPDATE:

I have had the smoker for several months now, and just like S&P's downgrading of the US, I must downgrade this unit. For some reason, I cannot get rid of an acrid, metallic smell to the smoke. To test, I burned the same hickory chips on my gas grill and in this unit. The gas grill smoke was true to the wood, but this Masterbuilt keeps on giving a combination smoke/metallic odor. I read somewhere someone else noticing the same thing. While it functions perfectly, I can't stand the smell it gives off. Selling it off and buying a Weber Smokey.

Honest reviews on Masterbuilt Model Electric Smokehouse with Window and RF Controller

This is now my third smoker, and probably my last (assuming it keeps working flawlessly as it has been). Before this I had a cheapo Brinkmann electric smoker, and then a Weber Smokey Mountain. I've only had this unit for about 3 weeks now, but I've smoked probably 7-8 different items on it, and here is my opinion on the unit itself.

Pros:

LCD control makes this thing brain-dead simple to use. Set the temp/time and it continuously cycles the heat on/off to maintain this temp to within several degrees. Also has things like a light to turn on, as well as a built-in meat probe to check the temps on.

Remote Love, love, love this feature. Allows you to change the time/temp away from the unit. My favorite part of it, however, is that you can check the internal temp of whatever you're smoking if you're using the built-in thermometer. Very handy.

Wood chip side-loader why don't more companies do this? Makes it sooo easy to add chips without losing heat. My biggest frustration with the last two smokers was that you had this tiny, tiny door that you were somehow supposed to fit a fistful of chips through without burning yourself. Thank you, Masterbuilt, for being the first ones to realize this flaw.

Window I've had no issues with mine smoking up during using. I suspect people that are getting heavy grime build-up during their smoking is allowing too much smoke to be produced (you want a very thin, light amount of smoke thick rolls of white smoke will make very bitter food).

Cons:

On/off on remote this turns the actual smoker on/off itself. Once the smoker and remote are on, the controller cannot be turned off. Very annoying.. I still can't fathom a single reason why you would want to turn off the smoker from a distance, but I CAN think of why you'd want to turn off the remote when you aren't checking/changing anything.

Timed on/off for heating you have to set a specific time on the timer before it'll heat. If this timer runs out, the heat turns off. I just don't get this 'feature'. I have no idea how long something is going to take to smoke, and if I set it to 5 hrs and it takes me 6.. it'll just turn off after 5. It's just a 'feature' that gets in the way because I always set my smoker to 24 hours and then turn it off myself when it's done.

Size the length and width dimensions on this thing are spot-on, but I really wish Masterbuilt would've made it a few inches deeper. For reference, I just threw in a 13 lb turkey and that's about as large as you can fit. At 13 lbs, it's already pressed against the back wall of the smoker. Slightly disappointing for the large size as I would've liked to smoke our 18-20 lb turkeys in it.

Build quality for the price, I feel like the unit could be sturdier. Lots of parts are held together by two screws that bend when in use. The wheels also squeal after using it for a few times. Also, the seal on my door doesn't fully seal (I've adjusted the latch and door to no avail). I emailed Masterbuilt and they got back to me promptly offering to replace it for free, so +1 to their CS.

Heat retention this unit has very little in terms of heat retention. If you open the door for a few seconds to add something or whatnot, it will literally lose 50* or more (and this is on a decent day, say 50-60* outside). I wish they had lined this thing with some lava rock or something so that it would retain heat when the door opened.

Overall, I would highly recommend this smoker despite a few flaws it has (in my opinion). I've produced some great results with it, and it has immensely simplified the work needed to properly smoke something.

********************* UPDATE *******************************************

After having this thing for about two months now, I'm demoting it from 4* to 3*.

Two reasons:

1) The build quality on this thing is really suspect, as I noticed previously. The wheels now squeal terribly whenever it's used, and they're rickety. Furthermore, after maybe my 10th smoke on this thing, the light bulb has either burned out or just stopped working.

2) The unit originally came with a door seal that didn't seal the top of the door fully. I emailed Masterbuilt about this, and they told me it was normal (it's not, they lied to me). I found out it wasn't normal, they said they'd ship me a new one right away.. 6+ weeks later, no sign of it, no shipping information, no email back from Masterbuilt.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Masterbuilt Model Electric Smokehouse with Window and RF Controller

I thoroughly investigated this product before buying it. I was aware of the complaints from some reviewers and now that I have the product and have used it I'd like to address some of the issues. By the way, the company seems to continually make changes to their products so it's important to know which model # you're getting. Mine is model #20070311 purchased 9/5/2012.

Customer Service; I had some questions before and after sale. I emailed customer service and at their suggestion also called technical support. I had no problem getting an email response or in getting through to technical support. The representatives were pleasant, patient, helpful and knowledgeable I thought. I found them very easy to deal with and anxious to please.

Door gasket seal and latch: The latch is adjustable and the manual suggests adjusting it as necessary to get the right amount of closing force. The door gasket seems to be a silicone product, not rubber as some people indicated (that would melt and smell). It seems adequate to the task, however I do have a small gap (1/32") at the top of the door which no amount of latch adjustment will close. Tech support indicated that the seal is not designed to be airtight and a certain amount of heat and smoke leakage is normal and can be expected. I sent them a picture of it and together we will decide whether the gap will appreciably affect smoker performance in winter.

Yesterday I cooked two pork shoulders and a brisket; the smoker produced plenty of smoke and readily maintained the set temperature even though a small amount of smoke (and presumably heat) leaked from the top of the door. When I opened the door after a few hours' cooking to insert the meat probe, a quantity of smoke and steam billowed out; this unit does what it's supposed to.

Controls: I found the remote works really well even from inside our house when the MES is parked on the opposite side of our garage. Both the remote and the control unit have buttons to turn the smoker on and off (just be careful not to accidentally hit the remote's Power Off button because as some people noted, this turns off the smoker, not just the remote!), set and change the desired temperature and cooking time and turn the inside light on and off.

Displays: The control unit LCD alternatively displays remaining cooking time and smoker internal temperature. The remote's LCD displays both remaining time and set temperature separately, as well as indicating when the heater is operating. On the remote, to have it display the internal current temperature of the smoker, you can hit the Temp Set button twice and for a few seconds the temperature display will alternate between the set temp and the current internal temp. And of course on both the control unit and the remote, hitting the 'Meat Probe' button causes it to display the internal temp of the meat the probe is stuck into. I can't think of what more you would want from the controls except for an audible or visual indication of set temp being reached or the unit turning itself off.

Setting the temperature: When setting the heater temperature, the display starts at 100 degrees. Using the + button will increase the temperature, but if you want a high temperature rather than scroll all the way through the temp range, just hit the button and it will jump to 275 and go down from there.

Cold smoking: The temperature range of the unit is 100 to 275 degrees Fahrenheit. At temperatures below 180, the wood chips will not ignite, so no smoke is produced. I asked the customer rep about using an aftermarket smoke machine for cold smoking and discovered they have an electric Cold Smoker that attaches to the 30" or 40" Electric Smoker (where the chip loader usually goes) for $69.95 plus shipping available from them or at Bass Pro shops.

Metallic taste from the chip loader paint: my chip loader isn't painted on any part of it that goes into the smoker, so I'm not expecting that to be an issue. Maybe earlier models had that problem but mine doesn't. Time will tell if I develop a metallic taste otherwise and I'll update the review if that happens.

Assembly: Not difficult but allow at least 30 minutes as some of the screw or bolt holes don't readily line up the first time. Also, the instructions on how to mount the water bowl are kind of vague and make it look like you balance it on top of the wood chip burner but it actually fits into some indents in the bottom part of the bracket that holds the racks; once you realize this it's a no-brainer.

Update: I made the mistake of completely filling the water bowl, resulting in it overflowing and making a mess on the bottom of the smoker. This is because the water bowl also acts to catch much of the drippings from the meat. In the future I'll just fill it half way and try that; in the 10 hours of smoking yesterday, the smoker produced plenty of moist smoke and steam but the water level didn't ever drop below the rim.

Wheels and brackets; seem plenty sturdy I haven't had a problem with them.

Drip pan drain; there's a drain hole at the back of the pan that lines up with the tube that drains any drippings and fluids to the outside rear of the unit. If the pan is in backwards or the MES is tilted forward, then these fluids can instead drain out the front through the door seal. This isn't a defect you just need to get the pan in the right way and have the smoker level then you shouldn't have any problem. The pan itself has a lip on the front that causes it to tilt toward the back of the unit; it's pretty obvious which way it's supposed to go in I think and you don't need to actually tip the smoker backwards to get the desired drainage. Be sure to periodically empty the grease tray at the back (outside) of the unit because the smoker produces a prodigious amount of delicious drippings...we had to drain ours (with a baster) while cooking 20+ lbs of pork and brisket.

Bottom line is that I don't expect perfection from any product, particularly one priced this well and with so many features. As long as the company stands behind its product with good customer support, I can tolerate the inevitable issues that will arise from time to time with any mechanical / electrical / electronic device. So far, I'm pleased with my purchase and I've had a good experience dealing with the company. I'll let you know if that changes.

This works great. I got an antique wood stove that was looking pretty shabby and I applied this and it now looks great. It didn't even smell that bad upon the first firing of the stove. Definitely wear the gloves as it recommends as this will stain your skin for a few days. Great product.

The product cleaned up the wood stove to look brand new. I used very little polish and it's obvious that it will last for some time. Very happy with the product.

Sorry for length, but wow, I was absolutely thrilled with this product and I really wish I had taken before and after pictures!!

First, the items needing polished/refinished:

1. Wood stove installed 2 years ago. Had a water leak above the stove which caused bad rusting on the top.

2. Cast iron skillet was on the stove and rusted bad inside and on the bottom.

3. Cast iron tea kettle badly rusted inside.

(All of these have been sitting like this and not been cared for, for about a year. So rust set in good)

Procedure:

1. I wore chemical resistant cleaning gloves. This process can get messy, so wearing the gloves is very helpful for all parts of this. Also have a shop vac, or other vacuum handy.

2. I used Steel Wool #000 to get off the rust on all of the items. This takes some patience but I was surprised after scrubbing off the rust that there was still a black finish underneath and not bare metal. All of it (except for the tea kettle) was surface rust.

NOTE: I was going to use a loose wire brush on my grinder, but after doing it with the steel wool I realized that would have been way overkill and would have probably damaged more than helped. I could see it being useful for somebody with a completely rusted item that goes to bare metal and needs some hardcore cleaning. Still recommend starting with steel wool, maybe coarser grain.

3. Vacuum up multiple times after using the steel wool to clear the surface so you can see what still needs to be done (brush tip works best). I used the steel wool, vacuum, steel wool, vacuum, probably 5-10 times before I was satisfied on each item.

4. Take a cotton cloth dampened with hot water and get any dust residue still on the surface. Wipe down with dry towel.

LET DRY COMPLETELY!!!!!

5. Take a soft cotton cloth, apply the polish directly to the top of the stove or to the cloth and spread it around. Work it in good. Let dry.

6. You can polish it up after it dries if you want with a soft cotton cloth. I started to, but I liked the finish without being polished, very deep black look.

7. After it was dry it didn't really smudge off unless I applied a lot of pressure. I didn't need to use the wood stove that day, but decided I wanted it to cure so I could put the kettles back on. Got it up between 350 degrees and 400 degrees for a good couple of hours. It had a mild odor, but no smoke.

KETTLE AND SKILLET: I did the same steps 1-6 for the kettle and skillet, but here are a few added steps after #6.

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees and put both in upside down to cure inside for 1 hour.

2. Turn off oven and let items cool down in oven. This took along time because they hold heat very well, just go do some other things for awhile.

3. Take them out and lather on some shortening on the cooking surface of the skillet and inside of kettle. I lathered on pretty thick, so they were pretty much a cream color where it was applied.

4. Let sit for 10-15 minutes, I let sit for 30 minutes for good measure :).

5. Take cloth or newspaper and wipe off the excess so your finish looks black again.

6. Put back in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Turn off oven and let cool again.

7. Take them out and they will look as good as new and ready to be used for cooking!I will probably refinish the pan and kettle every year with the shortening technique because it creates a nice layer between the cast iron finish and your food.

I honestly was so proud at how everything looked I kept telling my wife and she kept laughing, but had to agree that all of the finishes were fantastic.

Still have a little over half the bottle left.

Highly recommended if you couldn't tell. If your situation is similar, do not hesitate with this product!

I don't have a cast iron stove but I do have cast iron grates on a gas cooktop. Those grates were getting pretty discolored and "rusty" looking. Might have something to do with occasionally running them through the dishwasher. I wanted to try to darken them back to a nice deep black so I thought I'd give stove polish a try. It does actually work -sort of. I cleaned the grates thoroughly and then applied the liquid stove polish per the instructions. Then to "set" the polish I put the grates in my gas grill and fired up the heat. The process seemed to work. My cooktop grates are now nice and black once again. However, there is still some occasional rubbing off of the new blacking. Not enough to be a problem; just need to be aware that there could be some traces of black rub off if using a light colored cloth to clean them. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the way the project turned out and I have lots of polish left over so I can go back and touch up any spots that need freshening up from time to time.

I bought this grill stand to go with the Cuisinart CGG-200 portable tabletop grill. Very sturdy grill stand and just the right height. It holds a twenty pound propane tank very securely and looks good doing it. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone that uses a Cuisinart grill.

Great light weight sturdy stand for your Cuisinart grill. We are traveling in an RV full-time, and this is just what I needed. This fits the grill perfectly, it is sturdy and easy to assemble. I do need to use a pair of pliers to squeeze locking tabs, and a small screw driver to push locking balls in when disassembling the stand for moving. The tabs are too stiff to depress with your fingers, other than that, it's a very convenient stand for grilling and traveling.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart CSGS-100 Grill Stand

Excellent quality...this stand needs a shelf or two on either side. Very easy to assemble, two hands is all you need! The BBQ fits perfectly on the stand....very happy with it.

One should do their home work prior to purchasing this product. It did not specifiy what model of portable grill it would be able to hold, so I assumed it would accomodate my portable CGG 180 T. This is no fault of the product, it just does not hold my grill. I am sure it does a great job for those who have a grill it can accomodate.

I wanted the folding stand to be able to take on trips...

my fault.

This grill is a cheap rip-off of a Weber 751001 Gold One-Touch 22-1/2-Inch Kettle Grill, Black. I am dissatisfied and I only paid $50 for it. Every part of it is cheaper, weaker, and poorly designed compared to the original Weber kettles. The enamel chips off as you assemble the grill which will eventually lead to rust. The grill grate is cheap and flimsy and the handles get in the way of your grilling. The charcoal grate is also flimsy (it deformed after one use), it doesn't sit firmly in the kettle so if you try to build a two-zone fire, it shifts and falls in the kettle. The gap between individual grates are separated so the charcoal falls through before it has expired. All of the ash falls through and covers the vent holes in the bottom making it necessary to completely clean out between grilling sessions (and sometimes during) to keep the air flowing. It is difficult to get the ash to fall through 4 small vent holes into the ash kettle and as you do so, most falls through the rails that the kettle sit on instead of going into the ash kettle. It's frustrating to use and should not be confused with the design quality of more expensive grills of the same diameter. I believed the previous reviewer long enough to buy this grill, but regret the decision. Don't be fooled. Don't make the same mistake!

They sell these where I work.

They sell VERY well; never had any returned.

Here, one of these costs one-third the price of a Weber 22.5" Gold Model.

The Webers sell at a ratio of about 5:1.

Hope this was helpful.
