This must have tool has worked out great for my smoker. It has now made it easy for me to set and keep the right temp for my Landmann Smoker and Weber Genesis. After checking with the Maverick ET 732 I learned my smoker was reading 20 degrees higher and my Weber was off by 60 degrees. Was able to set my smoker at 225 for 5 hours for the best baby backs I ever smoked. The alarm which I set between 200 and 250 sounded off when I was out front waxing my car, went out back to learn the flame had gone out on my propane smoker. Glad I had my wireless remote with me in the garage or my ribs would have been sittin cold for an hour not to mention the propane which would have been leaking out. I also like the you tube vids on this product that show how easy it is to set your temps. I've had no problems with the probes, just wash the tips with soap and water and store away in a shoe box like I do so you don't crimp the wires till your next bar b q. I do set a small table next to my smoker to set the transmitter on while cooking. This is a great tool and well worth the price.

If you love to cook, barbecue or smoke meat then this is the ideal tool for you. This digital thermometer will monitor the temperature of your meat being cooked and the temperature of your barbecue grill, smoker or oven. The temperature measurement is accurate and the unit comes with two probes to make the measurements with.

You can actually set the transmitter unit by the barbecue grill or oven and insert the probes into the meat and into the grill and read the measurement from up to 300 feet away. The unit even has a lost link alarm if you are too far away from the transmitter. You can program the unit to set off an alarm when your barbecue temperature is too low or too high. You can also program in a time alarm or a meat temperature alarm.

The short round tip sensor is the barbecue temperature monitor and the sharp longer temperature probe is the meat thermometer. The barbecue sensor comes with a probe holder that lets you install it between the wires of the cooking rack. The sensors are heat resistant for up to 716° F and the receiver can display up to 572° F for the barbecue temperature. The LCD screen on the receiver has a push button to back light the screen if you are cooking later in the evening.

The unit comes with a magnetic meat temperature guide that you can stick onto a refrigerator that advises you of the temperature versus the wellness of the meat ranging from rare to well done. I found the unit easy to use and understand and the temperature readings that I got were fast and accurate. You will notice that there is a small red LED on the front of the transmitter unit and when it flashes it transmits the updated temperature to the receiving unit. The speed of response between the two units is not bad and we verified the temperature of the oven very accurately within the accuracy of the oven's temperature controller. This means that in my opinion the temperature reading of this unit was more accurate than the oven temperature controller.

Inside of the box as an instruction sheet to verify that the transmitter and the receiver synchronize on the same frequency but I have to tell you that my two units synced perfectly but just installing the batteries and turning the units on. The receiver unit had a slide on battery cover that was easy to remove but the transmitter has a cover held on with two small screws that required me to break out the small instrument Phillips head screw driver to remove them.

My wife and I love this unit and we found it to be simple and easy to use and the temperature readings were very accurate. I rate this product as a five star item and it is the best remote temperature sensor that I have seen. The range of the reception is amazing at 300 feet and you will not have an excuse for overcooked or under cooked meals again. Now I have to get one for my sister-in-law who always tries to serve under cooked barbecued chicken and raw hamburgers when she grills out.

I was supplied with a sample for testing and evaluation and I promised to provide a fair and honest review.

Works as advertized. It has great range, and I love the braided steel probe wire, a lot better than normal rubber ones.

Honest reviews on Maverick ET732 Long Range Wireless Dual 2 Probe BBQ Smoker Meat

If you want to cook a truly unbelievably awesome steak. You need Meathead's temperature guide and a quality digital thermometer.

The range of the ET 732 is excellent. I live in a 95 year old house with super thick walls. Have no problem getting remote temps 75 ft away. I do recommend you buy the 6 ft probes. I got mine from OneCountyShop. The 3 footers that come with the thermometer work but the extra three feet really makes it easier on a larger grill.

The guide makes it easy to get all meats cooked to perfection. I especially like the Chef's temp recommendations. The only other thing you need to do is go to Meatheads website amazingribs.com.

Hands down it has the best advice and recipes for cooking any meat to perfection. Backed up with sound science and proven techniques you cannot go wrong following his advice.

Now instead of cooking steaks that were OK but seldom great I cook steaks that rival those served in the best high end steak houses every time.

The best part is you to can learn to cook this way. All you need is a high quality thermometer like the ET 732, Meatheads cooking guide, do your research at amazingribs.com, and get to know your local butcher.

Most highly recommend.

I have started smoking pork shoulders on a Webber Performer. I used a single probe thermometer in the meat and the in dome thermometer on the Webber, and this worked OK, although I had to stay pretty close to the grill to keep an eye on things. I found some articles on the need for a grill thermometer to be more accurate. So I started my research.

As usual there were a few negative reviews on the ET 732.

I have used it about four times so far with great results, I just did my first brisket. I love being able to look at one device and see the temp for the meat and the grill. It also has an over and under temp alarm for the grill. The beeping alarm is loud enough to hear anywhere in the house. The fact that the ET 732 is wireless is outstanding. No matter what I am doing in the shop or in the yard I can pull the remote unite out and check on the meat. It has worked perfect for me.

A great product, I am happy I found it.

I recommend this small but sturdy electric outdoor grill.

It only took me about 10 minutes to assemble. The manual instructs you to run it on high for 20 minutes before putting food into it to season it. So I was ready to cook in 30 minutes after I opened the box.

The unit gives me much better control of the temperature compared to my 22" Weber charcoal grill. As an experienced outdoor cook, I really appreciate this. The thermometer in the dome is very useful, as you know instantly what your cooking temperature is when you close the lid. The electric heating element (the part that gets red hot) is substantial and appears to be of high quality. The grill surface itself appears to be of the highest quality, and the manual claims that it emits infra red heat. It is made of metal, feels hefty, and gives you a circular cooking surface that is 15 inches in diameter. The metal is cast into grates so you get a nice grill mark, and the metal is covered with what appears to be a fired black colored glaze.

When the grill is assembled, the heating element sits quite close to the grill/infra-red heat emitter.

It browns very well but can burn your meat, if you are not checking it and turning it every 4-5 minutes. The temperature as indicated on the built in thermometer drops a good 50 degrees when you open the lid for a minute or so (checking on the meat etc.). It takes about 3-4 minutes for the cooking temperature to rebound, and this is very consistent. When the controller is set at medium (3) it stays around 350 very reliably.

This extra control in the cooking temperature has allowed me to achieve excellent cooking results. The way a small amount of the grease drips onto the heating element creates plenty of smoke, so it always has that outdoor cooked flavor.

It is fairly easy to clean, and my grill unit did not have the sharp edges that the manual warned about, otherwise I would have surelycut myself by now as I clean it with warm water and dish soap. The cooked-on crusty residue comes off fairly easily with a ScotchBrite pad, with some scrubbing. It usually takes 5-10 minutes to clean the thing by hand. I wouldn't use steel wool on this thing, because I don't want to scratch the glazed surface.

It is priced lower than the similar Weber unit, and is a bit smaller, so I feel I made a good purchase.

I have enjoyed using it so far, and recommend it for someone who is cooking for a few people (or only for yourself). I would use a larger unit if I am cooking for a crowd.

This is nice and small, super easy to use (just plug it in), and it grills food up quite nicely. The warming rack works well too. It is a bit hard to clean, so we are using foil.

Honest reviews on Char-Broil TRU Infrared Electric Patio Bistro 180 Grill

We never cook in the house anymore... this grill keeps all the smoke, smells and mess outside. We will use it year round. We Just keep it right outside the door on a little table. What a convenience! And to boot it has no legs so it's so portable you can take it with you...camping, traveling, to a park for a picnic, a relatives house...whatever.

We also cook veggies and potatoes. We wrap corn and potatoes in aluminum foil and toss 'em on.

It seems like it takes a little time to get up to 550 degrees, but what I found out is you really don't want it that hot because that thing cooks at a much lower temp than 550. And you can always preheat if you really want it that hot.

I am still learning just how to use it, but it's easy, and I love it already.

It is the second one I bought. It sits right next to my gas grill on the upper deck. I haven't lit the gas grill since I bought it. I read all the write ups and agree with them for ease of use. I just turn it on and wait for the temperature to get to what I want and start cooking. This particular grill is easy to clean. I just remove the cooking plate and wash it or pressure clean it if needed. The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because it came missing one of the pressed-in nuts designed to hold the legs to the bowl (I went to the stored and got a bolt and nut rather than send it back) and the heat element is not rigid on it's frame. Poor quality control/inspection.

UPDATE!!!

This cover lasted just the Summer when I bought it. It ripped in a few places with normal use and the grill was always wet. After winter, it really fell apart and I threw it out. I called Ducane and found out they still make parts and have new covers for my nine y/o (2004) grill; and it was less money than all of the after market parts that I bought from various websites. I felt that the cover was a very cheap imitation in an authentic box.

I bought a new cover from Ducane since and still have it with the word DUCANE in big bold letters on it that wasn't crooked.

Call Ducane and save your money!

Have been looking for replacement grill cover to fit the Ducane BBQ that my husband had purchased through HD. Found this through Amazon; it is exactly as described. These are a must-have item if you use a smoker and need to pick up, or move food without burning your hands. I've also found them to be very helpful when shredding pork (for pulled pork). Makes the process much easier and comfortable.

Also works well when not using the BBQ for things such pulling meat off of bones when making soup, or shredding boiled chicken. You do need to exercise some care -the gloves can be slippery when dealing with hot food, especially if it is greasy.

The gloves are made of a thick, heat resistant material that works very well for handling food. They are NOT, however, meant for high temperature uses, such as taking a metal pan out of a hot oven. Think of them as potholders for food items something to keep your hands from burning when handling hot food.

The fingers are a bit stiff, but allow for decent mobility. I had no problems holding a knife or using a fork to pull pork while wearing them. They extend well up your forearms to keep grease splatters at bay (they are about 13.5 inches from fingertip to bottom edge). Easy to wash. I've only used them a few times so far, so I can't attest to how long they will last, but they seem pretty sturdy, and should last for some time provided they are cared for.

I take a mens size XL glove, and these fit fine (a bit snug, but very workable).

Very good price much less expensive than other hot food handling gloves I've seen. Highly recommend.

Update: June 2011 -been using these for a few months and continue to be very impressed. I've been able to hand carry items from the smoker into the house (a few minute journey) without any problem. Hands get a bit warm but not at all uncomfortable. Washing them is a breeze -just keep them on your hands, squirt on some dish soap, and wash your "hands." No problems with durability as of yet.

I bought these gloves to handle fried turkey, and noticed while putting the turkey in brine, I felt moisture in one. When actually carving the turkey I found out why when hot oil seeped through. Flexing and examining them more closely, I found both gloves had cracks in the silicone? shell that covers a layer of fabric. Luckily, I wasn't burnt, but I can't give them a favorable review based on my experience with them.

Best Deals for Butterball Carving Gloves

First off, I bought these gloves for an application which they technically weren't specified for. I bought them to use on a bbq specifically to turn metal skewers; but I got these vs. leather grilling gloves as I thought they would be easier to clean when sauce got on them.

They are very easy to clean but they shouldn't touch hot metal, they will start to melt and your fingers will feel it.

Fine for just grabbing meat off the grill (again, avoid the metal... obviously)

I'd give them 4.5 stars, they are a great product for the price.

Honest reviews on Butterball Carving Gloves

I purchased these carving gloves because I smoke a lot of pork butt (it's more common than you might think, except in California where they've outlawed everything but marijuana). These gloves work great for pulling the pork apart. They are water proof so they don't get saturated with grease or water and they are insulated.

Two issues I have that prevent me from giving this item a 5 star review: 1) I have large hands and "one size fits all" doesn't normally fit me. While these do stretch a bit, thus allowing my fat hands to fit inside, I would like for them to be a bit larger. 2) While they are heat resistant, holding something really hot for more than a few moments becomes uncomfortable.

All in all, though, they fit the bill well. I've used them to handle deep fried turkey fresh out of the frying oil, smoked pork butt, and even used them to remove a plumb pudding mold from a pot of boiling water (suprise bonus use for them).

We bought this grill the natural gas version to go on our tiny balcony and had a plumber extend the natural gas line.

Pros: compact size, attractive stainless steel, heats up fast, cooks quickly on low heat

Cons: lots of flare-ups; use low settings, ignitor only worked a few times, lid difficult to open; I have to put my foot on the base to steady the grill when opening

The portable Webers were not available when we purchased; if I were looking now, I'd probably go for the Weber.

I purchased this grill due to my tight balcony space and salt air environment. The ignitor went bad after about 10 uses. When I got the new ignitor, I found they had sent the wrong one. By this time, I also found the plastic adjustment knob had cracked as well.

After owning it for six months I would have to say it's a poor design, by far the most difficult BBQ to keep clean that I've ever owned. Some of this is tolerable and can be lived with, but the Magma customer service was very rude and their policies not at all customer friendly. I will never buy another Magma product and would recommend the same for other BBQ buyers.

Best Deals for Magma Del Mar Grill LP Gas

I bought the natural gas version of this grill four years ago. The insides have now completely rusted out, to the point that (assuming I actually wanted to) I would have to pay $300 to have the thing repaired. The rust is not due to neglect or overuse (it's been used an average of twice a week, and it's been protected from the elements by the nylon cover that Magma makes for it). The repair guy at the store I bought it from told me that it's due to the high heat that the grill produces. The metal has actually started to decompose, flaking away from the burner, the radiant plate and the fire pan. There is an almost perfect circle rusted out of the fire pan, and a similar pattern of damage to the radiant plate. The burner is frozen into place, and cannot be unscrewed as the owner's manual describes (the repair guy said he'd have to drill it out to remove it).

I was debating whether or not to have the grill repaired, until the repair guy confirmed that even if I did, a few years from now I'd be in the same situation. If it was a great grill, I might spend the money, but it's not like it worked that well even when it was new. As others experienced, I had lots of problems getting it to ignite, and when I did get it going I had to keep an eye on it for the first couple of minutes because any puff of breeze would blow the flame out. The only temperature I could cook anything on was the absolute lowest setting, as food would be incinerated at a higher setting.

Honest reviews on Magma Del Mar Grill LP Gas

This Del Mar stainless steel grill is highly attractive and had it been designed a little better for use and function this grill could have been a big winner IMO.

I had problems when cooking with the silver dome under the cooking grid. With the dome off one does not get the intensity of the heat when one cooks directly over the burner. One can not cook two steaks on high easily at once.Only one steak can be cooked accurately at a time as the flame doesn't reach the outer edge consistently without numerous turns. If your steaks aren't thick one would have well done interiors by the time they finish cooking...Cooking one hamburger at a time fared much better.

Greases catches in a number of holes at the base just under the burner however it is somewhat difficult to clean.

Removing even something as simple as the cooking grid for cleaning and under grid access is highly awkward. One is going to get mighty greasy black hands just trying to get the grid unlatched before attempting removing & cleaning

Like the previous poster I too had self igniting problems. That said some of that may be due to the design of the grill which demands perfect alignment each and every time of interior parts where ignition occurs.

There is a posted message to wait 5 minutes when it fails to light

And fail it does frequently.

Who wants to wait 5 minuted every time it doesn't light and hope for the best the next time?

The Del Mar grill folks would be wise to address cleaning ease, self lighting consistency and cooking consistency across the entire cooking surface.

This grill could be one of the best small grills if they could get slightly better engineers/ designers to fix some of the design flaws.Right now they rest their laurels on appearance and the nifty hide gas away tank my favorite aspect of the grill.

The company could also use friendlier agents with company reps that stand 100% behind their product. After less then two months of ownership and a handful of attempts at cooking( I travel for work) they suggested that I send the grill back at my expense to and from and see if it is defective.Right now I am trying to get my money back from the dealer if at all possible and find something more reliable from the get go.

Final Summary

High style stainless grill with great exterior design looks, genius hidden tank location with disappointing execution in cooking ,cleaning and factory assistance and a lack of a 100% brand assurance/satisfaction during warranty period.........

I bought this grill as I live in a high-rise in downtown San Diego and wanted something that could stand up to the full sun and salt air. The grill is made with a heavy grade stainless steel outer shell and an interior liner to contain the heat. This dual layer also prevents the outer stainless surface from darkening due to the heat.

This grill gets VERY hot and I had to learn to turn down the heat after preheating. I love that it uses the small propane tanks. Although I was originally wary of this design, in a high-rise I do not want to be carrying a heavy propane tank through the lobby and up the elevator to my unit. I get my tanks at The Home Depot in a three pack and they are incredibly reasonable in price.

I read where some people have had problems with the igniter. I have had no such problems. When starting it up after a period of non-use, I may have to click the switch a second time to get it to light, but light it does. You do have to complete some maintenance to keep it operating like new, but I tend to clean things as necessary and mine operates perfectly. Once in a while, rotate the grate to release it, lift out the dome diffusers and vacuum. This keeps the air holes clear, prevents flame out and clears any build-up near the igniter. The articulating lid does hang up on occasion, but I have found that lifting up on the handle rather than pushing back makes opening easier.

I am on my fifth year with the unit and upon this last vacuuming I did notice a crack in the interior liner. Although disappointed, what can I expect after five years and the fact that at the burner your getting near 1000 degrees? I went on line and found the replacement part for $45 bucks. I just ordered it and will install it as soon as it arrives. In the mean time it is still working perfectly. Remember; drop the temp after preheating and vacuum out the ash build-up occasionally. I love the look, small footprint and quality. PS: My Weber only lasted one year.

I have over half dozen burger presses....plastic, aluminum, non-stick, etc.

This is the first one that the formed patty slides out of the base, so quickly and so easily. All of the non-stick presses that I have tried simply did not work....same for the plastic ones. The meat whether cold or at room temperature, would always stick. I'd have to pry the meat out of the press, destroying the patty shape in the process.

This Grill Friends Press is absolutely awesome. Burgers form easily, with little pressure, and are not overly compressed. The meat does not press out of the sides, as in other presses. After forming the patty, all you have to do is remove the top, by pulling up on the side of the upper body of the press. Don't pull by the red cap. I weigh the meat portions for uniformity of patties. The red cap, and the black parts of the press are made of plastic, while the red inner part of the base is made of silicone.

I recently disposed of all the old useless plastic hamburg presses that I have accumulated, over the years. Each one of them could have been a good

press if they only had that silicone lining in the base, as does the Grill Friends Steakhouse Burger Press.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This has a lot of good things going for it.

The silicone coating is thick, resilient, and releases the hamburger patty (intact) with little effort. This is such a good idea that I'll very likely never buy another press that doesn't have a silicone lining. Those of you who have tried other presses, particularly the metal ones, and had the patty stick and fall apart after the press is opened probably know what I mean.

The ram allows very firm pressure for a tight, round patty.

The size is really good for a quarter-pound burger. I tried third-pound burgers with mine, but I think a larger diameter would be better for those as they came out thicker than I wanted them. It would be nice if they offered this in two sizes, with a larger diameter for heavier burgers. That way the heavier burgers could be made bigger (in diameter), without getting thicker.

The thumb print seems like a gimmick, but does work, particularly when using meat that has a lower fat percentage. I've found that the higher fat meats, like the traditional 80% meat/20% fat chuck, still tends to end up more like a meatball than the lower fat alternatives like 93%/7%, especially when using more meat. This is because the higher fat content meat shrinks more, and a small diameter with a thick middle will turn out looking more like a ball than a burger.

The little silicone cap, which comes off for cleaning, is nearly impossible for me to get back on. The tolerances are so close that it sometimes takes me longer to get that thing back on than to make the burgers themselves. Perhaps individual units vary a bit, but the one I have needs either a little larger cap, or a little narrower post. I tried drilling a small hole in the post in case air pressure was the problem, but it didn't help. Eventually I'll probably try sanding the post to reduce the tight fit, but I haven't done that yet.

I make the burgers by purchasing 2-3 pounds of 93%/7% ground chuck that is very cold (but not frozen). I use a digital kitchen scale to measure out four ounce balls of meat. I put them in the press one at a time, flatten them with my hand, then press down on the ram with all my weight. This makes crisp, round burgers that won't fall apart later when cooked. The soft silicone lining means you can rap it against a cutting board and it will pop out in one piece. (Hint: if yours is leaking around the edges, try using colder meat. Warmer meat is more likely to flow around the gaps and also to stick.)

As I make each patty, I put it on a foil lined baking sheet, thumb print side up. When I've finished all the patties, I put a sheet of wax paper over them and put them in the freezer for a few hours until they are hard. Then, I take them out, put them in foodsaver bags (ziplocks will work too), separating them with squares of wax paper cut from the sheet that was over them while they froze. Then the bags go into the freezer, and I can pull one or more patties out whenever I want to cook them.

To cook them, I put them on a hot, preheated cast iron grill pan, or outside on the grill, thumbprint up. After around 4-5 minutes (time will vary depending on the temperature of the pan or grill), juices will appear on the top. That means that the burger is now thawed all the way through, because as long as ice remains in the center, the top will stay cold and juice-free. At this point I usually carefully lift and turn the burger about a quarter turn and leave it for another minute for nice looking grill marks. Then, I flip it and leave it for about the same amount of time (including the quarter turn). I use an instant-read thermometer to check the center for doneness, around 160 degrees for well done. If it is close to 160, you can go ahead and take it off as the internal temp will rise around five more degrees after you take it off the grill. Just don't cut it for a few minutes or the juices will all run out due to the heat.

I put the buns on the grill for a short time to toast them on the side that faces the burger. It makes the bun stand up to the burger and condiments better, and lends a nice warm fresh taste to the whole thing. I also use field greens instead of standard lettuce for a more upscale taste and look, but other lettuces, like romaine, also work well.

Overall, I've found this to be a very cost-effective way to make my own, lower-fat burgers for much less money than buying the premade frozen versions.

Recommended, with a few reservations. It isn't perfect, but this is probably the best press currently on the market.

Honest reviews on Elizabeth Karmel's Silicone-Coated Steakhouse Burger Press

This press makes pretty good burgers as long as they are on the large size. Making thin patties is very difficult as they tend to fall apart when trying to get them out of the press. Also, after the first patty or so, the meat begins to stick in the press and one must turn the base over and pound to get the burger out. It is also important to centre your meat in the press and have it rolled in a uniform ball else the finished patty will be misshapen and an uneven thickness. I think the press is ok but my search will continue for something better.

I ordered two of these for my grill. When they arrived they were silver. Since I had ordered another one from a different site and it was black as pictured, these were a disappointment.

I've had a Weber Genesis Gas Grill for some time now and I'm quite happy with it. However, there is one thing you will never get on a gas grill that you get when cook over charcoal that great smokey taste. Viewed this in Amazon a couple of times and decided to try it out. Not much to say, except that it works as advertised. Fit right in-between the V-bars of my Weber, no problem. It puts out a tremendous amount of smoke once it gets going. I was really surprised how much of a smokey flavor it imparts to what you're cooking. Just follow the instructions and you're all set.

Smoker box arrived sooner than expected and I used it the next day. I cooked a pork picnic roast with the skin on and the addition of the box and Hickory chips added a wonderful smoke flavor to the meat. Along with my secret rub the 7 LB roast was so good that there was only about 14 ounces left for tacos tonight. My kids raved about the flavor of the meat and how tender and moist it was. This item turned my three burner gas grill into a great smoker. I would recommend this smoker box to anyone as it is well made and easy to use...

This is third smoker box I tried and first that worked well. It doesn't create a cold spot on the grill above the box, and because it sits down in the grill it stays hot enough to keep the smoker chips smoking.

But I bought large size. With a standard size grill (Weber Genesis ), you need to remove both grill grates to refill chips. With a hot grill this is an awkward and somewhat hazardous task. Small size would let you tilt just one grate up to refill the smoker box. Which would be safer and faster.

This smoker box is great for the four burner type grills. Slides beneath the grate wonderfully. Easy to clean. I wish I had gotten the larger size. Again if this is the size you are looking for it will not dissappoint.

The burners were a perfect fit for my Jenn-air grill and easy to replace. They are well made and the mounting holes lined up exactly. The cost was much lower than what I expected I would need to spend and they work as well as the originals. There are no instructions, but it is fairly obvious how to install them.

This burner is one tenth the price of the OEM version and it is well worth it to save the money. For the money, you could replace this several times, but you probably won't need to.

The only problem installing it was one screw hole needed to be enlarged slightly in order to align with the grill. This was caused by the mounting bracket being slightly misaligned when welded to the tube. Took only a few seconds with a drill bit and it fit right in.

The burner has held up well to 3-4 times a week use.

Your burner might be perfect, but even if not, it is well worth trying this one before buying the pricy OEM version.

Somewhat expensive, but worth every penny. Easy to use and instructions are well written. Don't get me wrong, I love slow and low cooking on a traditional smoker, but this product is really winning me over. I really like not having to mess with the coals and the temp as much, that is worth the cost in time and headaches right there.

Follow the instructions and you will not be disappointed with this very reasonably priced product. Works great and takes up a lot less space than a separate smoker.

We liked the smokenator. It worked great and held a steady temperature. However, moving coals around with the skewer was difficult and cumbersome.

I have the Dimplex PowerChef Convertible #CBQ-120-ELESTAND Electric Grill with Stand, Black/Silver. I purchased these shelves to have some surface to put food or tools on since I do not have a table nearby. They look good when installed on the grill making it almost look like a gas grill ( the cord is a give-away). There is one downside to these shelves, and it's more a problem with the design of the grill itself. To clean the drip pan, the grill must be removed from its stand. To remove the grill from the stand, you have to take the shelves off. That makes a an additional step just to clean the drip pan. I bought the shelves before I used the grill. If I had known how everything worked, I might have purchased a small table to keep near the grill.
