When i got the BIG WOODY, I was pleased with the way it worked...as advertised, it got corresponding grooves from my hot grill & scraped off the TOP of the grill, I still needed my other tools to clean the SIDES of the grill rack. Also, I left it out on my grill shelf, covered by the fabric grill cover overnight. The next day when I took the cover off to use the grill again, the Woody had developed a split on the upper handle (since the overnight was damp/foggy, it must have somehow dried/warped the wood?) The company should give better "caveats" re. use & storage.

the regular size would be adequate. this is so big as to be clumsy. the wood gets thicker very close to the scraping edge so it seems as soon as it starts to burn and wear as intended when used on a hot grill the useful area of scraper will be used up. bought the big one thinking it would last longer. might try the smaller size when done with this one.

I grill with my family a lot and needless to say, that means I have to frequently clean both of our grills. I have always used a wire brush, but I felt like it never cleaned the grill well enough and with all its use the brush gets clogged with smelly grease and our grills are showing wear from using the brush.

I was sceptical of 'The Big Woody' at first but my wife wanted to get it because she heard about it and needed an easier way to clean the grate so she could grill pizza. I am really glad we got it.

It really does what it claims, the grill is easily cleaned, no messy brush and I don't need to worry about harming our grills.

I would definelty recommend it if you enjoy grilling.

I recommend this small but sturdy electric outdoor grill.

It only took me about 10 minutes to assemble. The manual instructs you to run it on high for 20 minutes before putting food into it to season it. So I was ready to cook in 30 minutes after I opened the box.

The unit gives me much better control of the temperature compared to my 22" Weber charcoal grill. As an experienced outdoor cook, I really appreciate this. The thermometer in the dome is very useful, as you know instantly what your cooking temperature is when you close the lid. The electric heating element (the part that gets red hot) is substantial and appears to be of high quality. The grill surface itself appears to be of the highest quality, and the manual claims that it emits infra red heat. It is made of metal, feels hefty, and gives you a circular cooking surface that is 15 inches in diameter. The metal is cast into grates so you get a nice grill mark, and the metal is covered with what appears to be a fired black colored glaze.

When the grill is assembled, the heating element sits quite close to the grill/infra-red heat emitter.

It browns very well but can burn your meat, if you are not checking it and turning it every 4-5 minutes. The temperature as indicated on the built in thermometer drops a good 50 degrees when you open the lid for a minute or so (checking on the meat etc.). It takes about 3-4 minutes for the cooking temperature to rebound, and this is very consistent. When the controller is set at medium (3) it stays around 350 very reliably.

This extra control in the cooking temperature has allowed me to achieve excellent cooking results. The way a small amount of the grease drips onto the heating element creates plenty of smoke, so it always has that outdoor cooked flavor.

It is fairly easy to clean, and my grill unit did not have the sharp edges that the manual warned about, otherwise I would have surelycut myself by now as I clean it with warm water and dish soap. The cooked-on crusty residue comes off fairly easily with a ScotchBrite pad, with some scrubbing. It usually takes 5-10 minutes to clean the thing by hand. I wouldn't use steel wool on this thing, because I don't want to scratch the glazed surface.

It is priced lower than the similar Weber unit, and is a bit smaller, so I feel I made a good purchase.

I have enjoyed using it so far, and recommend it for someone who is cooking for a few people (or only for yourself). I would use a larger unit if I am cooking for a crowd.

We never cook in the house anymore... this grill keeps all the smoke, smells and mess outside. We will use it year round. We Just keep it right outside the door on a little table. What a convenience! And to boot it has no legs so it's so portable you can take it with you...camping, traveling, to a park for a picnic, a relatives house...whatever.

We also cook veggies and potatoes. We wrap corn and potatoes in aluminum foil and toss 'em on.

It seems like it takes a little time to get up to 550 degrees, but what I found out is you really don't want it that hot because that thing cooks at a much lower temp than 550. And you can always preheat if you really want it that hot.

I am still learning just how to use it, but it's easy, and I love it already.

It is the second one I bought. It sits right next to my gas grill on the upper deck. I haven't lit the gas grill since I bought it. I read all the write ups and agree with them for ease of use. I just turn it on and wait for the temperature to get to what I want and start cooking. This particular grill is easy to clean. I just remove the cooking plate and wash it or pressure clean it if needed. The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because it came missing one of the pressed-in nuts designed to hold the legs to the bowl (I went to the stored and got a bolt and nut rather than send it back) and the heat element is not rigid on it's frame. Poor quality control/inspection.

Appeared to be an exact replacement, but turned out to be about 1/4 in. short for Sunbeam Grill Master. Tweaked it with a rubber hammer to get it to fit. Over all pretty good.

We'vehad this grill for about 10 years or so and we just couldn't come up with the 300 dollars for a nice new grill.

The old plate had rusted in half last year and was joined together with a piece of sheet metal and fastened with rivets. The sheet metal gave way when the rusted halves deterioated. Well to make the story short, i measured the width of the grill and found this heat plate would work. Planning on getting a new burner soon. The current one, twice replaced, is getting bad now. Just remember to measure and find model numbers when ordering parts for anything

I purchased this unit with out the base and mounted it in a homemade table. Just awsome I have done Turkey,Chicken breasts,Beer can chicken, Pizza, and steaks. This unit is awsome, the meat turned out so juicey, tender and perfectly done. I own 10 different grills all different.

The original cooking grids on my beloved Master Forge grill had completely rusted through (not that they were very great to begin with). I spent a lot of time trying to find replacements of the right size, and finally found these. The grill rods are a bit thinner than the original ones, but still quite thick.

I ordered 2. When they arrived, one of the two had nicks in the porcelain cover.

This product could be dangerous to your health! The stainless steel bristles have started to fall out and could end up in your food if you are not careful. They are difficult to see laying on the grill cooktop. My order arrived within the estimated time I was given at time of purchase. The GrillPro Deluxe Long Handled Brush's product photographs and description are well described by the Seller. I had seen on the evening local news a warning explaining when it was time to replace a grill cleaning brush that has the wire bristles. It is time to replace your old grill brush when the metal bristles are bent and show signs the metal bristles are close to breaking off because the broken metal shards can be left unseen on the grill grates which can stick to the food, be consumed and can cause a medical emergency. Sure enough, my old metal bristled grill brush had major metal breakage and it immediately was discarded. I then went in search for a replacement and chose the GrillPro 77380 18-Inch Deluxe Long Handle Grill Brush a couple months ago.. The long handle length is very sturdy and the metal bristle end is a nice size for a wider area of cleaning. The metal bristles are adequate in length reach in between the grates to clean in between each open space thoroughly. There is a dual ended flat metal scraper works wonders on the stubborn burnt on that the bristles are unable to remove. And there's even a slot at the end of the long handle to be able to hang up the GrillPro brush when not in use. I love my new GrillPro Brush!

Saw this advertised on HGTV episode and put it on my list as a must have for Christmas gift. Had a problem with seller sending wrong color (got stainless steel) but they do not make the red anymore because of too many complaints of the red paint being chipped off. Just wish I would have known before ordering. There was an inside metal flashing piece that had plastic melted to it which too several hours to remove before we could use. Also, didnt realize you would have to remove your BBQ cover/ lid to accommodate the oven attachment or designate a BBQer just for pizza grilling. Overall, I don't think I would recommend, but a "fun" must have for pizza lovers. Thought it would be a fun gift. I felt it was kind of cheap for the price paid.

I thought I was getting stainless steel, but it was red. The Beefeater website doe not show a stainless steel hood. The company I bought from, (not this one) also said beefeater does not make a stainless steel hood. This is a very expensive item and someone should straighten this out.

I bought this at a grocery store while on vacation. I thought it would be better than the other small, cheap grills they had. Wrong...

First off, airflow is everything when you're grilling with charcoal. This grill has inferior airflow, with only one vent on the bottom and one on the lid, with the vent on the lid being the only way to control airflow. It needs at least two vents to get enough air to the fire, but that wouldn't be enough to save this grill.

Second, The metal on this grill is way too thin. I went to latch down the lid. The baked-on porcelain flaked right off and the metal under the latches bent.

And I still don't know where the "vortex" part comes in. I would suggest you spend your money on the Weber Smokey Joe charcoal grill, which is one dollar less at a certain Arkansas-based national retailer, and will last for years (and you'll be supporting Weber, a great American company, in the process.)

I got this at a local market on the clearance rack for $5. Figured can't beat that with the price. Assembly was easy and got it up and running in no time. The other review is absolutely right that it needs another vent. Was very difficult to get the charcoal to cook down from the lack of air. What I did though was slide out the ash catcher to expose the bottom vent holes and then the grill was good. It is not the greatest but for a picnic grill and the price it is fine. I recommend a Weber smoky joe over this though.

These are exactly as described and of adequate quality to be reused a couple of times after washing. The one issue is that they are advertised at 6.5 inches long, but the usable length of the skewer is just 4 inches. This isn't very long. They might be OK for some short satay skewers, but they are very short if you have some serious amounts of kebab chunks to grill. There are some 9.5 inch ones also available (I purchased the longer variety at my local hardware store) which may be of more use.

They arrived within the expected time. All of the skewers where very well made. No splinters or burrs on the shaft of the skewers. I used them that same night on a fondue with cheese. They worked much better than the metal spikes. I usually loose two pieces of bread once the cheese starts running out and starts to become hard. Didn't loose any this time. There was not flavor imparted to the mixture either. They cleaned very easily and dried quickly on the kitchen counter.
