I purchased the Lynx Professional 42" built-in grill (L42PSR-2) in June 2012 as an install for a covered outdoor grilling area at a new home that we were building. It is has now been a year since that purchase and install, and the grill has gotten a lot of use. The grill is very expensive, but it looks beautiful and performs well, and I expect that it will continue to do so for many years to come. I have found Lynx's customer service to be excellent. I have required one warranty related service call on the grill, and it was a breeze. They had to swap the starter on a main burner and replace the ProSear-2 burner. Both were working fine until I decided to clean the grill by follow the directions in the manual. In the process of doing so, one of the starters jammed and a section of the ProSear burner just stopped working. These proved to only be minor annoyances because Lynx quickly shipped the replacement parts free of charge to my doorstep and arranged for an authorized local repair shop to make sure that I got back up and running.

I had to contact customer service again today because the power cord for the rotisserie got a little too close to the grill, melted, and no longer works. Also, some kind of oil or other food residue appears to have found its way into the temperature gauge in the lid of the grill. Lynx is sending me a new rotisserie power cord and temperature gauge free of charge. So, as with anything you use, there will be wear and tear, but Lynx has made it very easy for me to continue to be pleased with my selection. If I were looking to purchase another large built-in grill in this price range, I would definitely consider purchasing another unit from Lynx.

I bought this stove/grill on sale at a Target store to replace my old liquid fuel stove in time for camping season this past summer. It came with the instastart ignition although it doesn't say so in the Amazon product description. The product picture shows the little red igniter button near the center of the stove front. The grill is an excellent design option allowing for grilling steaks, hot dogs, burgers, sausages, etc., which I do frequently now. The Instastart ignition has worked flawlessly so far.

Propane bottles win hands-down over liquid fuel tanks (no more having to pump the darn thing all the time). The bottles are cheap and with normal use, last through a three-meal day, no problem! I usually get a meal or two the next day, since lunches are typically cold... sandwiches, salads, etc. Most of the time we are away from the camp site at lunch time anyway. I always bring a 'bottle-a-day plus one' to be on the safe side and usually bring a bottle or two home for the next trip (depending on the length of the outting and how much cooking). I can usually find the bottles on sale through the year for just over a buck in the 'big' department stores and load up on them. As far as I can tell, the claim of an even, continuous gas flow is true (high or low)... just like using a gas range at home. Clean up is easy and the grease trap underneath the unit catches all that fat dripping from those New York strip steaks. Two or three strip steaks will fill that grease trap reservoir to the brim, so don't forget to empty it before grilling again. The long grill burner also heats that 10 or 12 inch fry pan across the bottom quickly for bacon, eggs, etc. The grill itself will take some scrubbing when you get home if you have been grilling steaks.

If you're looking to replace that old liquid fuel stove, do yourself a favor and get this unit, you won't be sorry.

And that's what I use this Coleman Stove/Grill for, an "Outdoor Kitchen Combo". I tried to purchase this several times from Amazon and when they lowered the price, I was on the road and couldn't place the order. Then when I was able to order it the price went back to $99.99. So, I went to Target and picked it up for $89.99, and today I notice Amazon has it for less than $88.00 :-) Regardless, wherever you purchase it from, this stove/grill is the BEST! I've had it a week now, and I've used it everyday approximately 2x a day. I'm a fulltime RVer, and its too HOT to heat up a kitchen to make breakfast and dinner, so I've used this for cooking 2 meals a day for the last week. I LOVE the INSTASTART function, and it works on the first try, and the flame is even all the way around on both burners and cooks evenly. I noticed that there were two "Red" models made, starting in 2008, and I picked up the one made in 2009 which is Model Number 2000003733, which appears to be the one on this site. But the other red one had a model number starting with a number 4 I believe if you decide to buy one elsewhere. Afte a week, I'm still on my original propane bottle, and I make coffee twice a day too in addition to the meals. I basically store paper plates/utensils and everything I need to cook outside except the food and clean up is a breeze! I keep foil on the bottom of the stove just in case, but its so easy to clean up. I purchased the separate "Griddle" too and I use that for pancakes, eggs etc. The griddle unfortunately is a little taller than the "grill" insert, so you can't close the top with the griddle insert inside. I keep the griddle insert inside of a laptop neoprene sleeve that I purchased from Target this week for $5.00. I also purchased the travel/storage bag for the entire grill/stove which fits just fine and holds the extra griddle too. Also, this unit has a 5 year warranty, which is 2 more years than Coleman's regular 2 burner stoves. Also, what I really LIKE about the Grill function is that you don't have those big flareups like with regular charcoal and propane grills, and you don't have dripping all over the ground or table where it is sitting. I love this grill/stove. Thank you Coleman! I recommend this purchase!

There was another person that rated this stove poorly because of pitting in the pan under the grill. Mine also had the pitting present and had circumstances different I would have sent it back for a new one.

However I bought mine with the intent of using it on a monthlong road trip and needed to use it right away so I kept the pitted one and just decided to use it.

Pros: The burner works very well, I was able to boil water very quickly on the burner although I had difficulty turning it low enough to simmer anything, which has been an issue with Coleman stoves that I

have used in the past. The grill works well and I took the advice of others that reviewed this stove to line the pan underneath with foil to make clean up easier.

Cons: Similar complaints as others, I has an overall cheesy feel to it, especially considering it cost around $100. The side windscreens pop off spontaneously allowing the lid to fall, usually knocking over something you didn't want knocked over, i.e. a beer for the cook. The grill surface itself can be very difficult to clean, I used the grill extensively on this trip and you had to very careful when cleaning it so as not to remove the coating, some of my non stick coating is already coming off after a month's use and I used plastic utensils exclusively on the grill.

Would I recommend this to a friend? Maybe, it is a useful combination of appliances which is nice if space is an issue which is why I bought this rather than packing both a grill and a stove. One of the big issues is that Coleman has become a virtual monopoly when it comes to car camping gear, there are relatively few companies other than Coleman making gear like this any more, so that they can crank out whatever they want and there is bound to be someone to buy it.

The grill (or at least the one I have) seems to only be adjustable in a small range right near the turn off point for the propane. Beyond that it just stays at full for probably 7/8 of the dial. With a fine touch you can get it to the flame level you desire though.

We bought ours in June 2007 and took it on a 103-day cross country motorcycle trip towing a pop-up tent trailer. We bought it because it was compact and fit nicely into the camper's storage area and because it was a barbecue and stove in one unit, so we were able to make a large variety of meals. We cooked on it every day and it never let us down. The parts stow neatly inside the grill when closed. We put aluminum foil on the bottom to keep it clean. You don't need the sides when it is set on a picnic or portable camping table. We always used both sides to support the lid and as a windbreak. We used the stove many times after returning from our big trip. We now have a travel trailer and use the Coleman as our outdoor barbecue. Still cooking up great steaks!

This is a wonderfully made grill cover. The fabric is superior to any I have previously owned(not that cheap black stuff), I love the color and it is represented well in the photo online. After buying three or four cheap 6 dollar grill covers from wal mart I finaly spent more money to buy a better grill cover. The weather tends to shorten the life of a grill rather quickly. So to help your grill last longer a cover is needed to keep the wather from rusting the metal.

The cheap covers I alway bought would dry rot and crack within weeks. So one day I decided, to put more money into a cover and bought this one. Well I have now been using it for over two yrs and it still works like new. I LOVE IT. So I have now bought a second one for the future just incase when I do need it, It isnt able to be found.

this is the same as all of Broil Kings poly covers, but larger (maybe the largest in their line). Honestly, It is larger than I needed -I have a Regal Pro and it was advertised as being for a Regal XL which is a wider (something like 14 inches) model. But too large is better than too small. It actually makes it easier to get on and off. The rubberized handles are a great idea. It was a bit pricier than the Lowe's generic model, but it seems heavier duty and worth it I think The trick will be how well it holds up to UV. I purchased this grill originally to use away from home, but ended up pulling it out this evening and using it on my back porch. I decided to video the grilling since I was curious how well it was going to work and in the end am so impressed with this purchase that I have to post the video along with my review. It was 40 degrees and windy today, only 2 days after Hurricane Sandy blew through PA and I was concerned that the grill would not generate enough heat to cook my ham steaks and sausages. However, this little charcoal grill performed above my expectations and is more than worth the price it cost. The briquettes ignited quickly and took 30 minutes to burn down to create a hot coal bed, which is reasonable time for charcoal grilling. The charcoal did smoke for 15 minutes during the initial burning, but this is typical of charcoal and the package even stated that the grill will smoke for about 15 minutes, so this was no surprise. Once the coals were hot and ready, I grilled 2, 6 oz. ham steaks and 4 pineapple rings and then flipped the ham and added 4 Italian sausages. I did put a foil shield around the back side of the grill since it was so windy, a tip that can be used with any type of grill. Everything I grilled was completely cooked in 45 minutes. The flavor of the grilled meat was delicious, the meat was moist, and my craving was satisfied! The clean-up could not have been easier. This is the perfect solution to portable grilling or having a charcoal grill on hand if you don't have storage space for a full-size grill and bags of charcoal. I will definitely purchase more of these disposable charcoal grills in the future and recommend them to friends and family!!!

This thing smoked like CRAZY for the first half an hour, and the smell was horrid. When I say smoked like crazy I mean you couldn't see through the smoke and I'm sure everybody on the block was wondering what in the heck the nasty smelling smoke was from. I can't believe I was foolish enough to put my food on it after the smoked dissipated... of course it made my food taste just like the awful smell. I can't even begin to describe the smell and taste; one thing is for sure: it wasn't real charcoal and didn't even have the slightest hint of real charcoal flavor. I ended up throwing my food in the trash and having to change my clothes and wash up just to rid myself of that putred smell. I don't know how in the world the other reviewers could even stomach it... it really makes me question their legitimacy on the review of this product. Seriously, they all have the same tailgate story to tell (and their writing styles are identical)... sounds fishy. Especially since if I would have tailgated with this thing somebody would have came and beat me up.

I bought the Esbit BBQ Box primarily for canoe camping trips with my fiancee. While we haven't taken it out in the canoe yet, I have had the opportunity to cook five meals with it.

I love this grill.

Set up is simple, there's enough space to cook a meal for two (a little creativity helps in arranging everything to fit), cleaning is super easy and it's smaller and lighter than my Cobb Grill.

The packaging is efficient (although my folding legs got a tiny bit bent in shipping: not enough to even worry about straightening), and the added touches of a charcoal bag and spare thumb screw are nice.

I might update this review when I've had a chance to try it with firewood as opposed to charcoal I really like this idea as we can save on the amount of charcoal we pack in.

I have both this larger size and the smaller size which you can see on Esbit's website. Apparently, Esbit has chosen NOT to import the smaller version to the US, so I found one on eBay. The price for the smaller one is virtually the same that I paid for the larger one (which is why the importer told me over the phone that they didn't think it would sell too well in the US), but I'm a gadget guy, so I'm still satisfied. And the smaller one is really small, about 9"x6", barely enough for two burgers, but very portable. It's not a backpacker or minimalist unit though, due to weight. But the stainless steel construction is robust and the grill should last a long time if cared for.

The unit is very cleverly designed, a virtual scaled up copy of the classic Esbit tablet stoves (water boilers, really) that are popular among campers. And the idea translates pretty well ... I've cooked mostly hot dogs and hamburgers on it, and it gets the job done with a small amount of charcoal. One problem though, is that when cooking anything with significant fat content, the fat will drip down into the firebox on to the coals, and this makes the grill smoke like mad. I haven't had any flareups because of this, but the unit bears watching while in use just like any other charcoal grill. If anyone knows how to mitigate the smoke, leave a comment please. Of course, grilling lower fat items is one solution, and this heavy smoking did not occur with good quality hot dogs. But with burgers, you'll be visible for miles!

Cleanup is generally easy; you can help yourself by simply lining the firebox with a layer of aluminum foil before adding and lighting the coals. On the smaller unit, flipping the burgers generally resulted in some fat or juice hitting the sides and running down the outside of the firebox (inside the "wings"). This made cleanup a bit more difficult, and you may have the same problem on the larger unit offered here if you crowd the grill. Tongs are better than a spatula in this case, but cleanup is still not too problematic. The upper part screws on to the lower 'platform' for stability (this prevents the 'wings' from collapsing inward while in use). It is possible to move the unit while lit, but insulated gloves are necessary even when grasping the lower platform and the exercise still has some potential danger so I don't recommend it. If you trip or drop the grill, the coals will likely go all over, never a good thing at the campsite and even worse on your deck.

Some nice touches ... it includes a durable carrying bag and also includes a lined nylon bag that holds enough charcoal for one use. This smaller charcoal bag will fit inside the grill when it is folded, making a nice, self-contained package to bring to a picnic. It also includes some heavy plastic to enclose some individual parts and protect the unit from getting all scratched up while stored or transported. Esbit also gives you an extra thumbscrew (these are used to secure the unit to the platform base). And there is an included "tool" (really a heavy U-shaped and bent wire) that allows you to move the grilling surface higher or lower depending on how close to the coals you want the food.

Lastly, the unit suffers a bit in any significant wind. Better that you can find a sheltered place behind some type of windbreak while using it under these conditions. Nonetheless, since it cooks primarily due to direct heat, it still seems to work, albeit slower.

Overall, a well thought out, durable, portable grill that I would recommend and purchase again.

I own the tiny Esbit pocket stove and like it for camping and emergency scenarios. This grill is essentially the same concept, but obviously much bigger. I like that concept, but the grill should be made of thicker metal sheets. Yeah, I get that doing so would add to the weight, but at least it won't always feel like it will cut my fingers. Also, be careful when opening/closing the grill.

This is probably the most portable grill that I have come across. It won't be my main grill, and I doubt it was designed to be anyone's main grill.

Con -Packaging appears to be inadequate for individual unit shipping. The variation in handling stress induced by shippers doing their best to get things to you on time appears to be beyond the design limits for the packagingSuggest you do not order online.

The long version of the story (with happy ending):

First, I would like to say that I love Amazon and do a lot of business through them.

However, I think in this case they have very much let me down by selling/representing this product. The product itself is reported to be of high quality and is rated very highly among LP gas BBQ grills on Amazon and several other sites. I was very impressed with the reviews and decided to purchase the grill despite several comments about shipping issues. I should have listened to the negative shipping reviews. Online purchase history has taught me: if more than 2 or 3 people mention a specific issue with a product, the odds are high that you too will experience the same trouble. In this case, people commented that the grills arrived with the outer packaging destroyed and the grill components either missing or damaged (some severely). Two people commented that the supposedly new grill appeared to be someone else's return.

My experience The first grill arrived on time with the outer box looking pretty rough. The box was barely able to contain the contents. When I opened it, it was obvious I was not the first to do so. There was no internal packaging material other than two pieces of cardboard. Both side shelves were bent and the plastic frames were shattered with pieces of plastic missing. The main gill enclosure (top half) had a large scuff mark with paint removed. I didn't notice that at least 25% of the components were missing from the box until I opened the second (replacement) shipment (which was noticeably heavier). When I returned it to the UPS store they were surprised anyone would ship such a heavy item with so little packaging and protection. They commented that the box looked like it had been to Afghanistan and back.

The second grill arrived with the outer box in similar condition to the first. Although this grill had many more pieces inside, there was more packaging material, and it looked as though it had been repackaged carefully, it was obvious that I was not the first person to open this box either. In this case the main enclosure was the only part damaged (both halves). The upper part (lid) had half of one side broken off. The lower half of the main enclosure had a 6 inch long crack on the same side as the lid. This box obviously took quite a hit...... So, Christmas gift is blown. No time for a replacement and I really would not like to risk another shipment. This entire purchase has been a difficult experience with all the waiting for UPS to show up, returning damaged units, giving up on UPS and dropping off the units myself etc... you know how it is waiting for the deliveries/pickups.

So, why do I think Amazon has let me down this time? This unit was purchased from Amazon LLC directly. I was shipped a used, or at least someone else's returned, item, twice. I specifically paid for a new grill and would not have considered buying used. With the reviews and comments from others, it is/should be obvious this item is packaged only for palletized group shipments, not individual piece deliveries. I won't whine about it, but someone is getting an explanation/story rather than a long awaited present that took a lot of research and effort to locate and purchase. I suppose a picture and a promise will have to do this year. Thanks Amazon.

Update: Amazon came through for me as their reputation and my personal history with them suggested they might. I was disappointed, and this was/is a bad online purchase experience, however they did go out of their way to make it right.

They provided a partial refund as a form of apology for the shipping damage.

They shipped another unit overnight, no shipping charges to me, so it would make it in time for the holidays. However....... though this unit was delivered by a different service, it too was damaged (although not as bad as the other two). Amazon customer service was excellent, professional, understanding, listened well, and did what they could to compensate me for what is fundamentally out of their control (packaging not designed for rough treatment during shipping). Amazon once again provided a partial refund, offered to ship anything else I wanted from their site overnight for free, and also have UPS pick up the third grill for me. Amazon also said they were pulling this item from their site due to these damage issues so no one else had similar experience. Since it was so close to the holiday, and this is a present I have been arranging for a friend to give to her husband (she can't leave the house due to medical reasons) I needed something to present on Christmas day. I decided to contact the original manufacturer for replacement parts so I could repair it myself after the holidays. Amazon agreed to extend the return date for complete refund if my efforts with the manufacturer were unsuccessful, and back me up if I needed some extra help getting warranty parts..... I contacted the manufacturer who was at first reluctant to assist me. The manufacturer said there was nothing they could do because this was a shipping issue caused by Amazon use of fast shipping and the shippers not having adequate personnel to deliver (minimum two people on the truck). I informed them my grills were delivered by two people each time, and let them know what Amazon had already done for me/dealt with. I was put on hold for a bit, but when the service representative came back on, he was completely in my court and is now sending every part that had even slight damage to me by the first week of January.

Summary: Bad experience on both sides of the transaction, but Amazon stood by their customer service promise and made it right for me. Still a loyal customer.

Good quality grill that is made in North America by a quality company. Looks great on my deck. Everything works as advertised . It gets very hot for a two burner grill. The only issue I had was the shipping package allowed for the side burner to get bent. I was able to straighten it out but it still has a little dimple. Assembly is OK but you need to be able to put things together as it does require tools. I would recommend this for a mid priced grill.

Purchased this grill from Amazon 3 days before Memorial Day weekend. I did a lot of research and found that Broil King Crown 90 fit the bill for super heat,workmanship and overall customer satisfaction and the fact that there was only one left in stock was an additional motivator.Shipping was going to be $80 so I thought it would be a perfect time to join the Prime club and pay $75 for a year of free of 2 day shipping and get the grill in time for the holiday.

Well,the grill arrived in 2 days alright, but the box looked like it was air dropped in. To my surprise none of the components were damaged which was great.And they all looked great on the floor of my garage for a week while I waited for all the hardware to arrive from Broil King. (Broil King customer service was great by the way)

Strike Three Arrived Damaged Again!!!

OK, Amazon took it upon themselves to send me a replacement grill when my request was for a refund.

This is now the third grill shipped, and in keeping with all prior, it is completely damaged!

The box once again looked like it was abused by a herd of elephants. I'm starting to think that this

is just not an item that should be shipped. The bottom of the cast iron grill oven was cracked up an entire side corner, the handle was once again broken, no instruction manual or assembly instructions, and was completely missing some important parts like the nuts and bolts, the rotisserie burner, the cooking grids, and who knows what else!!!

I am now done and will not be ordering other such large items from Amazon again.

My advice, purchase your grill from a local retailer. Inspect the contents before leaving the store.

Round Two

Purchased a new grill after returning the previous used one from Amazon Warehouse. Very dissapointed, also arrived damaged! The box looked like it survived a battle. I get the feeling this product just isn't packed properly to be transported. The handle for the hood was broken, so can't open the grill. OK, Made the HUGE Mistake of purchasing a used grill from Amazon Warehouse. The grill arrived in a box that was soo badly beaten up that nothing inside could have survived. The item description said that the packaging was damaged but that the grill was in "PERFECT" shape. I should have known better. Both the top and bottom parts of the cast iron oven had huge cracks that ran completely up the sides of the corners. As if that wasn't bad enough, many of the plastic parts had holes and chips and dents. There was even a non descript iron rod broken into three pieces. I will never trust Amazon Warehouse with this type of purchase again.

I purchased this in hopes it would aid in the homebrew process. I was right. This is an excellent, low cost product (for my intent) overall with a few minor engineering flaws.

Pros: Excellent replacement for Brew Structure. Many cost around the $500-$1500 area depending on where you are shopping. This is an affordable alternative. Burners are excellent and the jet burner gets to the wort to the boil quickly. The cart is sturdy and can easily support the keggels. I do like the dual LP connection as well, very handy and convenient.

Cons: I have 2 issues. 1 the bolts for the tops burner did not want to willingly fit in the drilled holes. After about 5 minutes and a long work day, I decided to use 4 of my own. It works and I have no problems thus far. The second issue is the LP tank holder. It just sits in the lip of the body of the cart. This is just to hold the LP tank while in use. Don't expect this part is a permanent part of the cart and don't expect to move the cart with the LP tank attached, I didn't try it, however there is no way a tank can be supported by this little ring as it isn't bolted in anywhere.

Overall, worth the buy, I would purchase this cart again.

These units sell for well over $300 plus at the beer brew sites and stores, I can brew 10 gallon batches with no problem with the powerful burner that will bring 12 plus gallons up to a boil in 15 minutes which is really great for all us beer brewers. This price can never be beat I assure you. I will say this will last a life time for brewing and cooking mega pots of food or canning veggies too.

I bought this for cooking batches of beer. And it works great for that. It was smaller than I expected, but I also expected a lot more assembly. Great burners, especially if you're like me and cook beer, but also host a lot of summer bbq's, etc.

The packaging was, well, crap. Th bottom structure has the top structure nestled inside it, and the rest of it is just sitting in there, absolutely NO packaging inside the box to support the parts from getting knocked around in shipping. And I have dented heat shields to show for it. The wheels are kinda crappy, they are heavy duty and support the unit, but the axle is wider than the wheel, and so there is about an inch of play where the wheels can move side to side?? Whats with that?? And as previously mentioned, the little ring that holds the propane bottle on just sits in a small notch on the frame. You can't move this with the propane bottle in place. Kinda sucky, because I am sure a little ingenuity would have made this a heavy duty mount, but it was made in China... so, there ya go.

All these negative statements, why 4 stars... it is worth the money, and is a great burner.

I purchased this for all-grain home brewing. The stand is easy to assemble, and easily supports two full keggles. The jet burner is able to bring 12 gallons of wort to a boil in 15 minutes or less. If you are looking for an economical, 2-tier burner for home brewing, and you don't want to spend a fortune on a brew sculpture or tower, this is an excellent choice.

PLEASE NOTE: This does ship in its factory packaging, which is, to say, nothing special. There were some minor scratches and dents on this stand when I received it, and the box was damaged during shipping. I wasn't expecting perfection, so none of these things concerned me, and in the end, the stand and burners all worked the way I wanted them to. However, if you are expecting perfection, please set your expectations a bit lower.

The regulator on my Char-Broil grill went bad. They wanted over 50 dollars for a replacement and from experience, their delivery was poor. I ordered this part, knowing that it wasn't a direct fit, but I went to my local hardware store and bought some inexpensive fittings and made it work!! In much less time, due to Prime's two day shipping, I was back grilling again!! Woo Hoo!!

Metal is thin and welds have visible stains from the start.

Must really scrub to keep rust spots off bottom (inside) of pot.

Used this once so far steamed a bushel of crabs works well cleaned up easy. The lid is flimsy and cheap had to put a brick on top to hold it down when steaming. The basket sat a little low so had to put bolts at bottom of steam basket to get it up high enough to get enough under it to get a good steam.
