I purchased this item for my Member's Mark (Sam's) model 720-0586A grill. They are an exact duplicate of my original burners. I have not had the flame issue on mine that the other reviewer had. In removing my old burners I had to drill out the old screw heads that were holding the burners in place and do not intend to try to replace them. They just lay there so I don't need to go to the effort to completely remove the old screws. They are an excellent value and I will be buying a backup set to keep for the when these burn out. They are about 1/4 the cost of OEM.

Cheap PayandPack 15.7" x 4.375" MBP 13361 (1-pack) Universal BBQ Barbeque
I purchased this because it was much less expensive than the OEM part for my grill. Although it seems worse than the original part, the holes seem less well machined, and I get bigger, yellower, and less controlled flames, I would still buy it again because of the price. I didn't realize how quickly these wear out, I had assumed they would last 5 years, but the OEM ones were destroyed in two, so I am now considering them disposable parts and don't want to spend $60 a piece for three burners every couple years. These will work fine.

Review of Outset QB53 Rosewood and Stainless Steel Meat Hook
This is a great gadget to have if you like to barbeque a lot or a little. It's great for turning ribs, steaks, hot-dogs, etc. I looked through all of my local stores and could not find a tool like this anywhere so I started searching online. This is a great value at only $9.95. I found similar items that were shorter in length and longer in price. The meat flips quickly and effortlessly saving time and the length is perfect to reach over most grills without getting burned.
I searched all the BBQ stores with no luck. Searching the internet I found what I was looking for. My dad has three of these, and told me that if I get one make sure it is a long one, these work great when using a grill on a fire pit.
Everyone that loves to BBQ should have one of these.
Somebody should really start distributing them to all the BBQ stores including merchantile stores these should be easier to find and purchase.
I love this item, this would receive a higher rating if there was a higher number to choose......

The only complaint I have about this product is that if you use it while camping, over an open fire it is too short.Honest reviews on Outset QB53 Rosewood and Stainless Steel Meat Hook
My folks are retired and have started the snow bird travel with their fifth wheel, this year when they stopped by on their way back home, they barbequed up some rib eye steaks for dinner, my dad had one of these "meat hooks" or "pig tails" to flip the steaks, making it so much nicer and easier.I searched all the BBQ stores with no luck. This is pretty awesome for flipping steaks or whatever else you want to do. I didn't have it long because I took it camping and I'm pretty sure one of my buddies jacked it from me. I would recommend this to anyone.Sunday, November 16, 2014

Review of Kingsford Non-Stick Corn Basket
We like this type of corn holder for our gas grill. Hope it last longer than the other one we had, that was not this brand. These corn baskets are perfect for cooking corn on the grill. The corn comes out tender and cooked just right. I brushed oil on mine before cooking and turned them half way through cooking. Clean up is a breeze, it really is non-stick. I highly recommend.

Discount GrillPro 00528 Black Leather BBQ Gloves
Gloves were exactly what I was looking for. I have a charcoal smoker and this allows me to move the hot coals around and place wood chunks/chips inside easily. I have also been able to use them for taking the grate with the hot coals on them out and dump them to 'shut it off'. So far my hands have not burnt from grasping anything hot with these on. They are also holding up after about a month's worth of us for a few hours every weekend.

Poor design ...almost dangerous
The Gas tank can only be turned off and on from behind the unit...
The wheels are located on only one side .. they do not swivel.. thus the unit is moved by dragging it
These items work together to make this a very poor design ...how could anyone think this is a good design?
To turn on the gas you have to crawl behind the unit or drag it out from the position you placed it in.. here I make an assumption that you (like most people) have the unit backed up against a wall or something.. Remember those wheels that are only on one side and do not swivel... that means you have to drag the unit. Hard enough to do to turn it on.. even harder when the unit is hot ... that is dangerous.
I am sorry .. I so much wanted to like this unit ... small and nice to look at .... but the design is so flawed as to make me think the company never even tested this unit in the field
Some one please disagree with my comments ... what am I missing
First, the shipping took forever... over a week. For Amazon Prime, this is a long time. I could have gone to a local retailer and picked up the grill, fully assembled and had it home the same day to grill on.
When it arrived, over a week after I ordered it, it came unassembled. I started to unpack it and discovered that there were several scratches and one large enamel chip on the hood of the grill. Also, the Allen wrench they give you, didn't fit the screws that were supplied, so I had to purchase one that fit. By this point, there was no way to get the grill back into the packaging to return it to Amazon.
Next, the starter is a silly design. The spark, which only works some of the time, only lights the middle flame. You are supposed to use a flimsy match extender to light the other two flames (which turns out to be easier than the spark starter).
Also, the images for this item are deceiving and incorrect. They show a bamboo prep board on the side. However, rather than coming with the nice prep board that is featured in the images for this item, you get a flimsy brown plastic prep board, which cheapens the entire look of the grill and you question weather you want to place food on it.
The wheels are silly too. there should be 4 wheels on this. Because the fuel tank is accessed through the back of the unit, you have to move the grill every time you use it, and having only two wheels, it makes things very difficult.
I thought this was a great looking grill when I purchased it, but I was highly disappointed with is when I got it. Now I'm stuck with it. I would not recommend this item.

Having now had this grill for over a year, I would describe it as a decent quality grill for a fair price. I use this grill frequently, probably twice a week or more, even in winter. If you are an occasional user, you may find this a more ideal product.
The Good Points-
1) It looks great and is perfect if you don't want and over testosteroned massive stainless grill on your property.
2) The quality and functionality is decent.
3) If you get a hold of a real person at Minden, they are very nice and will go out of their way to help you.
4) Heats up very quickly.
The Bad Points-
1) You MUST purchase separately the stainless steel grate. The included enameled grate will wear out in less than one season.
2) The wood handle will also become moldy in less than a season. I extended it's life by using some spray varnish on it, but I would still prefer the stainless steel one (which I've seen at Williams-Sonoma on a version of this grill that only they sell).
3) The spatter plates become quickly rusty. Minden was nice enough to send me (essentially for free) 3 stainless steel ones.
4) Some of the bolts which hold the unit together become rusty over time, they should be made of stainless steel, but they aren't.
5) The grill does not evenly heat, and has hot and cold spots, which over time if you understand where they are you can compensate for them.
They really have the makings of a great grill with some small modifications, I would encourage them to change some parts to stainless steel (described above) and attempt to resolve the unevenness of the heating surface.
******UPDATE April 8, 2012********
After having this grill for about two years, I sadly have to conclude that it's not something I would buy again.
The rust has continued to the point where critical functioning parts are failing. The bracket for the trough which supplies gas from burner to burner has failed, causing the trough to fall off. I've managed to stick it back using some rocks so I can still use the grill.
The hot and cold spot issue seems to have gotten worse, and it's also now hard for me to get the grill started without pressing the start button 10 or 15 times.
Additionally, the threaded plastic gas tank hookup broke in half, and I had to replace it with a new one.
After doing some math, I've concluded that the cost of ownership of this grill is simply too high.
At 479, lasting two years, means 249/year (this does not include the MANDATORY cost of buying the Stainless Steel Grate)
***Conclusion: I've pretty much settled on purchasing the American Outdoor Grill Model 25PC (with back burner). It's basically the same physical size, but at 1650 is considerable more expensive. However, nearly every part on the grill is guaranteed for 10 years, with some parts being guaranteed for longer. Even if one figures that the all stainless steel, made in America grill will last for 10 years, the cost of ownership per year is only $165.

My experience with this product reinforced the fact that there are still reasons to buy products at brick and mortar locations, rather than ordering from amazon.com.First, the shipping took forever... over a week. Great looking grill. It's a basic grill that meets my needs. I rarely use a rotisserie or a side burner, so why buy them. Looks better than S/S and should last as long, as the burners, venture tubes, and flame diverters are rarely S/S and rust out. Threw out a S/S grill that looked good but required over $300 in parts to repair. This grill heats up faster and takes up less space.Saturday, August 16, 2014

Discount Earthenware Portable Hibachi Grill
Do not buy this!!!!The pretty lettering is just a piece of paper pasted on. The pot is just dried clay, not even sure if it was fired.
The paper washed off and so did the white paint on the clay. It is about four inches square. Too small for anything, really. I tried to return it with a complaint and was told that it was never advertized as "fired". I do not know but the word "earthenware" means an item that was fired, to me. Was severly disappointed.
Lady Diana
To use, I started by holding a standard charcoal briquet over my gas stove's burner with tongs until the edges caught. Then I placed the lit starter coal in the hibachi and loosely piled about 6-8 coals on top of it. Don't overfill, as it will get too hot. They were ready in about 45 minutes. Use a plate or the like to pick up and move the hibachi as the decorative wooden stand provided is too small and the bbq gets quite warm. The hibachi can be used inside (with proper ventilation) but leaves an unpleasant smokey smell behind for hours. I'd suggest using it outside only.
Cut meat into thin strips about 2" long and marinate or rub to your taste. I used a bamboo skewer to drop 4 or 5 pieces of meat and a couple of veggie slices on the grill at a time. Cook mostly on one side until done and turn over for a minute to finish. The key is to keep the meat chunks thin. Too thick and the center will be raw. I'm going to try shrimp and salmon with pineapple slices next time. I also made a couple of dipping sauces. One mustard based (hot) and one horseradish.
The cooking surface is small (about 5" x 5") and thus not suitable for cooking for a crowd. My wife and I use it when we are too lazy to fire up the grill and have some leftover stew meat or chicken. A couple of them are great at a party for making pre-bbq appetizers with cocktails. Like a fondue but with meat. Kids love them but should be supervised.
Cleanup is easy. Let the coals burn out and dump the ashes in a safe place. The grate comes right off and can be scrubbed with soapy water and a pot scrubber. The grill body is not water safe and a dishwasher would destroy it. There is no reason to clean the body as food does not come into contact with it.
Although not Amazon Prime, shipping was free and my order arrived in 3 days. I bought 4. Two for us and the rest as gifts.

I first encountered one of these at an upscale Japanese restaurant about 25 years ago. After quite a lengthy search for a large cast iron pot ,that I can cook ham and beans in, I came across the King Kooker on Amazon for a pretty darn good price. A pot this size is hard to find used and when you do people want way more for them than they are worth. Usually you will be sanding and grinding an old one to get the rust off and re-seasoning it as well. Back to this pot.....Its a great looking pot and it comes seasoned. The "J" hooks are to lift it off of a tripod stand (not included) if you get one. I am going to fashion a handle and use mine with a tripod and hang it from a chain. Here is the problem. When I received it via UPS I opened it up to find the aluminum lid sitting directly on top of the pot with only 4 small pieces of paper and a thin sheet of packing foam between them. If you know anything about cast iron then you can imagine what happens when you roll it around on top of aluminum. The lid really isn't poor quality it is just no match for the weight of a 50+ pound pot. So the lid was beat up beyond use. I called amazon and they quickly took care of the problem by replacing the entire pot. I tried to get them to just send a lid but they insisted on replacing the whole thing. The second one came in damaged as well via FedEx. It wasn't quite as bad but none the less will have to be bent back to be able to be used and has a lot of scratches on it from the "J" hooks being loose inside the package. I called once again and they told me all they could do was give me a full refund and send it back. Being that I have to have it for a party in 9 days I asked them to give me a partial credit and I would just keep the product and either fix the lid or get a new one somewhere else. They agreed and gave me a pretty decent and fair credit to fix the problem. I am happy I have a very nice pot now. It is rather unfortunate they wont package these things better when shipping them across 4 states so customers wouldn't have to go through this. I would give the pot itself a 5. If you don't care about the lid the pot is well worth every penny especially getting free shipping. I will say Amazon was very polite in handling the problems.

for our church bean dinner it worked out perfectly, with the handle one of the congregation members made we were able to hang the pot and cook a great batch of ham & beans. Our last dinner we were worried whether we had enough prepared, this time there was no worry. Later the clean up and re season was a breeze, with the pre-use recommendation the burnt area cleaned real easily and in 30 mins it was finished and stored til the next use.Honest reviews on King Kooker 5940 10-Gallon Heavy Duty Cast Iron Jambalaya Pot
I was skeptical about ordering a new kettle, made in you know where, but I'm sure glad I did. I spent less...didn't have to clean rust...didn't have to drive to pick it up... didn't have to repair it... and it cooks great. Quality appears great...quick shipping...relatively damage free (minor lid dent), and did I mention cheaper than used kettles? It has a flat center bottom that worried me but it rolls a boil just like a fully round bottom. Used it three times already and not one problem with sticking chili, beans, or veggie soup. These wood chips add a nice flavor to what ever I cooked in my smoker.I tried them on brisket, baby back ribs, pulled pork, and chicken. They all had a nice distinct smokey flavor.I liked the flavor better when I did not soak them prior to cooking.Honest reviews on Char-Broil Cherry Wood Chips
Tried this on an electric grill, heating soaked chips for 15 minutes before cooking. Really good smoke flavor, not overpowering.Pre-soaked chips in water for an hour, punched tiny holes in alum foil, and placed on grate. Won't grill without chips anymore.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Char-Broil Cherry Wood Chips
Wood chips are hard to mess up, right? Well, I have bought some wood chips before that had a bad smell when you use them or the size was just too inconsistent. These work really well and the chips are good quality cherry. The smell is really great. Plus, the food I cooked definitely was smoke infused. Overall I am very satisfied. I soaked the chips for about 15 minutes and used a stainless grill smoke box.Sunday, June 8, 2014

4 stars for the smoker. Depending on your pain threshold, 2 or 3 stars overall. I wish I could give three seperate reviews. Actually I can, so I will.
1. The Smoker is great. Plenty of room to smoke multiple items simultaneously. If you are trying to decide between the 18" and the 24" all I can say is I've never regreted the extra space. A couple of hints... a) if it isnt burning very hot it could be a safety feature in the regulator. Detach the tank, then detach and reattach the regulator hose from the burner unit, then reattach the tank and open the gas slowly. b) don't rely on the thermometer on the front door. Buy a two probe electronic remote thermometer, one probe for the smoker temp the other for the meat temp, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. I can't get mine away from my wife who uses it in the oven! c) figuring out how to maintain a steady low and slow temperature will take some trial and error, the steel walls are thin so if the outside temp is variable as it is in the Northeast (or windy) you'll have to adjust as you go, especially if you smoke overnight. If you use water in the pan (recommended), temp shoots up as water level drops and you may want to consider adding a little water to the pan each time you open the smoker to check your food. I know a guy who filled his water tray with sand and swears it goes far to keep the heat steady, but I think I'd miss the moisture. This stuff is all a normal and no reason to pass. I use the heck out of this unit and it's great. Also bought the turkey canon (best turkey ever) and the outdoor cover, both work well. Bought the rib rack, could do without this, but I suppose if you do a large volume of ribs it might come in handy. For me, this is a step up from an electric barrel smoker, which also worked well but was inconvenient to load and monitor during cooking.
2. Packaging. UGH! The many comments listed here reflect my experience as well. The shipping packaging is absolute garbage! First the thing shows up looking like it was dragged across the Pacific behind the ship and then dragged from the warehouse to my driveway. The cardboard is poor quality and is falling apart by the time you get it. Worse still, almost no real attempt is made to protect the smoker itself inside the packaging. The smoker has the misfortune of being both heavy, and constructed of thin steel so the thing gets manhandled and will show up with the corners and sides dented. The specifics are detailed in other reviews. One additional observation, I'm not sure it's UPS. Mine was delivered in two days and it's not possible for UPS to have inflicted that much abuse on the thing in that amount of time. I believe the problem is primarily ill conceived packaging by Camp Chef. It wouldn't be that difficult to rectify, a larger box of heavier grade cardboard with larger styrofoam corners and perhaps some bracing for the smoker door which is guaranteed to dent the way it's currently being packed.
3. Amazon (Prime). Service was great! I called to send the smoker back because of the damage and they arranged pick up and delivery of a replacement to my home, both of which occured the very next day. The delivery driver even helped me tape back up the poor excuse for a box that it had come in.
Alas the replacement smoker was also damaged! The damage was less extensive (i.e. the door wasn't entirely collapsed) and these things are such a pain to unpack and repack that I decided to live with it this time. Hey I had a Pork Butt to roast and the thing is going to be outside anyway, isn't it?
As for the product itself, I've used it three times now; once to smoke 6 pork shoulders, once for some chicken, and the last time to smoke two large hams. This thing practically sips propane. I started with a tank that was so light I figured I'd get a couple of hours of use before changing it for a fresh one. Instead, it made it through 11 hours of smoking pork, three hours of chicken, and two hours of ham before finally calling it quits. Very impressive. I've also noted that I can get about three hours of smoke from two moderately-sized chunks of wood. I definitely recommend well-soaked chunks rather than wood chips.
Once you get your temperature set right where you want it, the Smoke Vault will hold that temperature without fail for as long as you want it to (assuming the weather does not change dramatically.) This means that your smoker will require very little babysitting, unlike my side-fire-box charcoal smoker, which requires me to sit beside it all day drinking beer just to be sure the temperature doesn't spike too high or drop too low. The downside to the smoke vault? You won't need to sit by it all day drinking beer. Oh, well. If, like me, you need to make large quantities of barbecue for your business, this is the smoker that you want. It may be a little less romantic, but then I prefer to save the romance for the eating. The only thing you really need to worry about with the Smoke Vault is refilling the water and adding another wood chunk or two every three hours or so. Do that, and you're going to be very happy with what you get out of it.
One minor con: as someone else noted, the heavy cast-iron wood pan, which sits directly over the burner, became warped after my first use. Mine, however, still fits into the smoker and does the job just the same, so I'm not terribly worried about it. Still, it was kind of odd for it to happen at all. Not a big deal, though.

At first the smoke vault looks a bit gimmicky, yet it delivers with some wonderful applications. Bake all the way up to 500 degrees pizza, casseroles, etc. Smoke cool by opening the door. Smoke hot and sizzling, smoke wet. With the enournous size, I can do two turkeys! Great for fish, game, ribs, anything. Heats up quick, easy to assemble, easy to use, easy to clean!Honest reviews on Smoke Vault 24" Black
I'll keep this short and sweet. The shipping issues that so many people have complained about seem to have been addressed. My Smoke Vault arrived in an extra layer of packaging layered with sheets of polystyrene; there was virtually no damage to the outer box, and none whatsoever to the product itself. So far as I can tell, the biggest complaint about this product has related to this, so that should put the matter to rest.As for the product itself, I've used it three times now; once to smoke 6 pork shoulders, once for some chicken, and the last time to smoke two large hams. So far this item has been a great buy. I have been using the Camp Chef 24 inch about once a week without too many hiccups. I have found that the door does leak smoke and had to be modified to prevent this from happening. I wish Camp Chef already used a fiberglass gasket around the door, but I went to a wood stove and fireplace store to buy a fireplace window gasket that had self-adhesive on the back for easy installation. With this modification the door did seal properly and I use much less fuel, and the meat gets a much better dose of smoke. If the door had not had this problem, I would have given this product a 5 star, but with the very cheap modification, the Camp Chef 24" smoke vault has been a great purchase.Monday, June 2, 2014
Discount Weber 6481 Small Stainless Steel Vegetable Basket

I looked all over for a grill basket that would meet my needs but they were all way too big. I have a smaller grill and frequently only light half of it, as I am grilling for 1-2 people. This basket is the perfect size and shape (6x6")for a side of vegetables on the grill. It also washes up nicely and stores easily. Great for someone not grilling for a whole family!
Clean up is a snap with just a swipe with a scrubby or a trip through the dishwasher. Please remember that you want the basket to become charred black and develop a nice coating to make it naturally stick proof for your food. Mine developed that within weeks and I love it. It should not look shiny and new but coated and loved.
I am buying another one because I find more uses all the time for it on my grill!
The only thing I would add, pay attention to the word "small" in the description. This basket is definitely for 2, don't buy this to grill vegetables for a whole family or a backyard party.

Real size of basket is 6x6 (7.5x7.5 at top). Much smaller than indicated in description. May hold vegetables for 1 or 2 people max. Returned the item.Best Deals for Weber 6481 Small Stainless Steel Vegetable Basket
A small vegetable basket is a must on any grill. The size is so handy for a couple of heads of garlic, two servings of string beans, or anything which is small and might get lost on your grill. Fits neatly in my larger basket when I want to take the meal indoors. It can hold a lot of cooked food thanks to the sloping sides, but the sides are angled in just right so that you can add to the contents but it does not take up too much space for it's size (like the wok type does).Clean up is a snap with just a swipe with a scrubby or a trip through the dishwasher.
