These can be used for starting camp fires and kept in emergency kits for fire starting . They will burn while floating on water and light with a flint fire starter or match . (Just scrape a small amount of flakes or dust on top and strike the sparks into it and instant flame) I use about 1/4 cube and wood to start a fire in my Kelly Kettle and one cube by its self will heat a 2.5 pint kettle to the point of steaming . No doubt two would cause it to boil . Cubes are large enough that they can be cut in sections and used to stretch them further . My point is this is more than a charcoal starter and is the best you can buy at a great price . This is one great product .

Thought I would add I do use them in my Weber Chimney for charcoal and they work great . I also noticed one reviewer said they melted. I have never had one melt or run, and I've used many of them . I'm not sure they are using the same product .

I do a lot of smoking and have tried quite a few products. Kingsford Match Light is very easy to start, however it adds a terrible taste to meat and quite honestly makes me wonder about health repercussions. I have tried lighting charcoal with light fluid, which works ok and just has the same problems as Kingsford Match Light. I have spent time lighting charcoal with newspaper and a chimney, which works very well, except for all the burnt paper that goes all over the place. I started using Weber's Light Cubes a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. For starters they light charcoal faster than any product I have ever used. They burn very clean and do not ash like paper does. I do not see myself ever lighting charcoal again without these cubes. These cubes are perfect for light charcoal.

These are my favorite way to start coals. Just need one (or two if lighting the whole kettle) under a pile of coals. Light with long wooden match from underneath. 20 minutes later your coals are ready to spread out, and they don't smell like chemicals or gases! RECOMMEND HIGHLY.

I just got a Chimney Starter, and these Cube. Being new, I used 3 cubes in a triangle under the chimney. I used lump charcoal, and Wow! the charcoal were ready in 10 mins. Yes 10 mins. Next time I will use 2 or maybe just 1 cube.

The combination of the Chimney starter, and the lighter cubes is just superby. My charcoal lighting problems are over. I can focus on the Marinade!!

I use these Weber Start Cubes to light my charcoal chimney whenever I'm using my charcoal grill or smoker. The alternative is using newspaper that results in a lot of ash blowing around and it is a mess.

Just light one of these under your charcoal chimney and it does the trick. No need to use 2.

I haven't used these in any other way, but I can imagine these would work good in any situation where you need a flame to stay lit for 10 minutes regardless of weather conditions.

I found a used Viking Natural gas grill on Craigslist which I purchased as a house warming gift for my brother. The grill had the older style piezo style lighting mechanisms that have a very loud audible CLACK every time you use them to ignite a burner. I hate the clack. I really hate the clack. I purchased this ignitor b/c the 6 outlets & rewired to the burners so it would have the soft 'tick tick ticking' of the electric ignitor (seems appropriate for this grill). I found the same thing at Home Depot for $30 which I ended up returning once I saw this on Amazon for a fraction of the price. It's now 6 months later & the ignitor still does exactly what it was designed to do. BTW, if you are adapting from one ignitor to this, the hole where it mounts will be to be slightly enlarged as this was a little bit bigger & wasn't a direct replacement without making the mounting hold a little larger. I would absolutely buy this again if any of the ignitors fail on my Wolf grill & I'm not so sure that these aren't the exact units already installed on my grill. Don't buy these at the Big Box for 3x the price get it here on Amazon & use the savings on some nice ribeyes.

I have a TEC Char-Broil Grill (Model# 463268407) and the ignition button had rusted out. I called Char-Broil and they wanted 8 times the cost of this ignitor so I took a chance and was happy that this worked. It is not the same shape but I was able to get it installed and working in a few minutes. All six burners now light with no issues!

My ignite function was not working with the dial. This is a replacement for my Jenn Air 720. I was a little worried that it would not fit but I took a risk since the description listed my BBQ. I was going to drill a new hole for this but all I had to do was remove the original battery box and screw this into place. It was a tight fit, but it worked. My bbq only needs 5 outlets so I taped over the one I didn't need. The original function of igniting with the dial is disabled but I am ok with just turning on the gas and pushing this igniter. This is a super good value and showed up next day from Arizona with my prime shipping.Super happy now since I don't have to use a match.

smaller items that would fit on a round bamboo skewer will split apart on this skewer.

These look really cool, except they are very problematic to actually use. Because of their curved nature you can't really put any direct pressure on them to puncture the kabob items. Which gets trickier if you've marinated your veggies or meat and they are a little slippery to get on. You inevitably stab yourself trying to do it.

Also, because they are curved, keeping the handle off the grill is pretty difficult, so you need to manipulate them with tongs on the grill. After a year of attempted use, I gave up and got rid of them and get these instead: Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Signature Stainless Steel Grilling Kabob Skewers, Set of 6 (3/8-inch Wide). Much more functional, much easier to deal with.

This telescopes out and two long hinges flip over and lock in place. It weighs next to nothing. It's quite useful, it's no fun to cook on the ground. I bought this item with a Coleman camping stove, which has turned out to be excellent (the stove). Regardless of whether you extend this stand fully or peg the legs in place IT IS NOT SAFE. The liklihood that your stove will fall through this stand is extremely high. I spent a long time experimenting with it before being forced to return it and buy a table. On the package another suggested use is as a stand for suspending a rubbish bag. If that is all that it can be used for, it's not worth the cash. A redesign is needed.

We own two of these stove stands, and we are considering a third as an addition, not a replacement. We purchased the stands 8 to 10 years ago, and have used them several times each year. They are none the worse for wear. We put our 2-burner camp stove on one stand and the ice chest on a second one. Based on the design of our current stove, we must carefully gauge the proper width of the stand for the stove, but once it is set up, it is perfect. The feet of the stand have holes for staking the stand in conditions where you might feel a need to do so, such as when set up on uneven terrain, or if you anticipate people or pets might be inclined to bump into it. Overall, we find the stands to be very stable. I like this design over a camp "kitchen" because it allows me the flexibility of setting up each component individually, based on the characteristics of the camp site. This stand cannot be beat for portability: lightweight and extremely compact when collapsed. Sometimes we place a board over the top of the stand to make a portable table for preparation, dishwashing, or to support a small grill.

As for price, we paid $20 for the original purchase, and the current price is not that much more; I consider the Coleman High Stand an excellent value.

Let me begin by saying that I purchased this stand for tailgating and not camping. Before I even knew this item existed I was looking to purchase an additional portable table because I had been using one of those portable tables that roll up into a bag to support my Coleman grill. Those tables can easily run $40 to $50 so when I saw this item for about $20 I gave it a shot. The stand works, but the design could have been better. The main problem is that there is no locking mechanism in place to prevent the side legs from "butterfly-ing out to the sides". The premise is that the weight of the item on top will prevent this from happening. To be on the safe side I bought Velcro tape for $5 and placed strips under the handles of the grill and on the stand itself to create my own "locking mechanism". I have only used the stand once, but the velcro trick worked and I was able to use my roll up table for other things.

After reading the reviews about the stove falling through, I bought anyway but I ran out to the local hardware store and bought a sheet of cheapo compressed board for $5. Cut it to match the stand with a little overhang and then I cut it in half, re-taped with duct tape (so now it folds in half). It fits fine in with the stove itself in the Coleman stove leather bag. Used it this last weekend and it worked great, extended to max, shoved a few stakes in the feet and put the board on top and the stove right on that. Was super sturdy and no possible way for the stove would fall.

They should include something similar with this, small slats that fold out or something. I didn't care too much, it literally took me 3 minutes to cut a $5 thin board, stick some tape on it and done.

They also should have a lock in place for the legs at full open, but that's minor.

When I got this product I was kind of skeptical, but I was really peeved with the typical two-pronged meat fork, because I would have to stab the Dickens out of my meat to successfully pick it up. This product has an ingenious design the hook on the end causes you to pick up the meat, the handle is sturdy enough to support even the thickest of tri-tips, and it ended up removing itself from the meat very cleanly. One stab, one hole, my meat was rotated and it was done. Boom.

This Solaire grill cooks by an infrared propane burner box. It creates unbeleivably high temperatures which we really appreciate because my family likes its steaks charred on the outside and mediuim rare on the inside. It also only takes 5 minutes to reach high cooking temperatures and the stainless steel cooking grates clean themselves by leaving the grill on for 5 minutes after you are done cooking. It is great for grilling burgers, fish, shrimp etc. It is necessary to monitor your cooking more carefully because it cooks so fast. Excess fat should be trimmed from meats to avoid flare ups. While the temperature of the grill is somewhat adjustable, it is not suitable for foods requiring lower temperatures for a longer period of time such as whole chicken breasts or ribs. We use a large Weber natural gas grill for such foods. We also tried the natural gas conversion kit that is available but I would advise against it because the heat output is significantly reduced using lower energy content natural gas.

We have used this grill on average of at least twice a week for the last three years regardless of season and it has never failed to perform. We rely on it so much that I bought another one we keep stored unused in the house just in case something were to happen to the one we use so heavily. Because we use the grill so much, we operate it with a 20 lb. propane tank using the optional converter hose and fittings. The grill is very efficient with fuel and will also work well with small propane canisters.

The grill has a relatively small cooking area so large quantities of food cannot be cooked at once. It is perfect for two or three steaks or burgers at one time. However, if you need to cook more that that, the grill cooks so fast that two batches can be cooked on the Solaire grill in less time than it would take to cook one batch on a normal propane grill.

In summary, even though this grill is expensive for its size, we believe it is worth every penny in performance, build quality and time savings. I would recommend shopping the Net to see if you can obtain a better price. We bought both grills for less than $300.

I have used the Solaire Anywhere infrared grill for about three years. There are some very good things about this grill and some poorly thought out aspects as well. First the good.

1) Time efficiency. The grill heats up nearly all the way in about 50 seconds. It also cooks very quickly. This saves time and you have a feeling of hassle free use. It is one of my favorite things about the grill.

2) Fuel efficiency. It uses very little propane, a 20 lb tank lasts half the summer with frequent grilling.

3) It is VERY high heat. This means it grills thin foods very well. Steaks, burgers, veggies sear nicely.

4) The handles are well designed. They stay cool and if tightened properly, are sturdy.

5) It self-cleans. Not the bottom of course. But the grill does burn itself clean if used as instructed.

The downside:

1) It gets too hot and tends to burn food on the lowest setting. You have to toggle the gas off to lower the heat. Chicken breast needs to be par-boiled to cook well on this grill.

2) It does blow out in the wind due to poor design. IF the vents had a baffle it probably would stay stay lit.

3) The "stainless steel" hood turns brown quickly after six or so uses and no longer looks stainless. Again, a double wall on the sides and hood would help.

4) The grill grate is hard to clean. Grease and food gets stuck at the ends of the "V" groove.

5) It has strong hot spots typical of all cheap grills. Hot in the middle and cold at the edges.

6) The spark ignition breaks easily. See the other reviews. The plastic cap came loose on mine and I get a nice electric shock if I am touching the grill with my other hand when lighting it. Needless to say, It did not take long for me to learn to keep my hands off!

7) The grill grate burned through in the center (at the hot spot) after three years of use. It's not under warranty, but Rasmussen gladly offered me a $60.00 + shipping replacementwhich was 40% off. (hmmm) It burned out at the fore mentioned hot spotin the center. The grate is made of cheap "V" channel metal slats that cannot take the heat over time. It's not thick and it's not chrome.

8) It's too heavy to take anywhere more than 50 yards from your car. Yes, it comes with a little backpack and there is a cute woman toting it with extra cans of propane in the company photo. She is on steroids. If you are camping with Andre the Giant, bring it along and have him shlep it to your remote location.

9) Customer service is friendlythey smile while telling you "no." They do not stand behind the product as one would expect in this price range.

10) The highly concentrated heat creates a strong updraft over the grill which draws burned fats into the air. These settle in your hair. Yes, a bit of smoke is par for the course when grilling, but this little baby creates a fine grease cloud that you smell later on your clothesnot toasty grill smoke, animal fat. It's my least favorite aspect of the grill.

I give it a generous three stars.

Ten years ago I got a big solaire and it has been great, so much so that when I got a portable I bought the "go anywhere solaire" and it too is a good machine.

HOWEVER,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I had the stainless steel wire mesh and the grilling grids on the original full size grill start to fail and when I tried to make a warranty claim THEY CHANGED THE RULES OF THE GAME IN THE MIDDEL OF THE GAME!

The original Warranty was lifetime on entire grill except 2 years on the ignition (electronic) system. Their customer service department said the "Boss" changed the warranty a while back and the wire mesh was not covered. I had these fail once before and these were replaced free as per the warranty previously, but now it was new rules as per the "King" by decree. But it does not stop there the grilling grates that were replaced under warranty were stamped and not made with the same quality and workmanship as the original.

I don't expect that kind of thing from a company that has been representing itself and it's product as first rate.

Next time I get a new grill I will more than likely go with Lynx, still made with top quality and in America and standing behind their product too.

When I bought the first Solaire, Lynx did not have IR burners but now they do, and to be honest my "Marine Stainless Steel boat grill" made by Magma works great and was less expensive than the anytime solaire.

I as well as most people don't like being lied to and then the silent implied statement if you don't like it sue me.

Once a great grill now going to the cheap quality and unethical lying side of corporate American (made in China) company...................

This grill is just what you're looking for if you want to sear steaks. It gets remarkably hot which is what I was always trying to get with other grills. I used to have to wait 20 minutes to heat up the large grill to get to the point where this grill is in a few minutes. Of course, with great power comes great responsibility and that means you have to watch your food closer and turn it sooner than you might be used to. However, I have had no problems. I have read about people cooking many things including chicken and pizza on this grill. I'm not there yet, but look forward to pushing the limits of this fine grill. It's very well made and lights instantly. I read that it will stay lit better in wind if it is warmed up first at a lower temperature.

I purchased this item for my husband who loves to grill out. I thought it would be a cute gift for the kids to give him, and he could brand each steak if he wanted to.

To be honest, it is a Christmas gift, and he has yet to see it or use it... but let me tell you, it looks great!!! Says it fits my model of BBQ but I had to do some slight modifications to get it to fit. For me it wasn't a big deal, but I think that it should fit better than it does. Very happy with these pellets, they left very little ash even after a 16 hour burn (brisket), the smoke and flavor produced was excellent. Must say that I prefer the 40lb bags to the 20 that most other sellers offer, very little dust in bag as well. I was orginally worried about how they would be shipped (that the bag would split and I'd end up losing much of what I paid for), but they packaged the bag within a box and I lost none of the pellets. I recently bought a new Traeger Pellet BBQ and while I love to whole pellet idea and the results of the food being cooked, it can be a little pricey when you figure in the cost of using the pellets. The Country Boy is a real find. These 40 lb bags are about half what the Traeger pellets are and the pellets seem to emit more smoke than the Traeger which, depending on the food being cooked, can be a real benefit (sorry Traeger).

I've only tried the Hickory so far and have already placed another order. BTW, the bag states all of the important stuff about being no fillers or bark and only Hickory. Enjoy.

I have been using wood chips for ever and when I purchased the big easy electric smoker, it had a small area in which to put chips. The reviews said they burn up quite fast so I though I would try these pellets. After the first use I was convinced this is what I will use forever as they lasted and burned slowly for 5 hours and still had some left. The smoke has an awesome flavor added to the meat.I would recommend this product to any one.

These hardwood pellets great. Great flavored smoke and burned well in my Green Mountain Smoker. Next to no ashes. And the Barbeque heated up very quickly.

Not only does this not match the picture. It claims to fit a Lynx L30. It does not because I have one and the bricks are a different shape and size so it does not click into the holder. A complete waste of money for me. Amazon should do something about this although I understand it is a third party vendor.

Vendor states this is replacement for Lynx grill.

The package only contains sixty briquettes, the grill requires seventy. So buy two packages, double the price and find something to use the remaining fifty on. RIP OFF!!
