I've waited almost a year before writing this review because I believe it takes that long to really test a grate for warping, etc.

This grate really does the job. The original was a source of irritation because it simply couldn't take the heat of normal grilling and high temperature cleaning without warping.

This one is much better. At the same time I bought these grates, I bought the stainless flavorizer gizzies. They, too, are worth the extra money.

Product avertised as Stainless steel cooking grates for $24.95. I received porcelain enameled cooking grates. Called vendor and was told that it was a mistake in the ad. The porcelain enameled grates were $24.95 and the stainless steel were $49.95 so they sent me porcelain enameled which i didn't order. Reordered stainless steel grates from another vendor because they told me i couldn't get the ones i wanted until i returned that ones i didn't order and i did not want to wait that long. They told me they were going to send me a return label which i still have not received.

Not worth the money. The construction is extreemly flimsy and it is too small to adequately support full racks of ribs.

This is good for small racks of ribs, but if your smoking big slabs, just use the smoker, and put them on the grill!

Listen.. I cooked 6 racks of ribs today. I couldn't have fit maybe 4 on this thing.

Flimsy, not well constructed... Just cheap. That's all I have to say. I hated it.

Honest reviews on BRINKMANN 812-9007-S NON-STICK RIB RACK

The poorest rib rack out there. It's flimsy, rusts, not stainless steel. Weber makes the best as far as for my needs.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for BRINKMANN 812-9007-S NON-STICK RIB RACK

I own a grill, and the little $50 bullet-shaped Brinkman smoker for those occasions I want to smoke ribs. I tend to grill baby backs (no need for this rack), but for larger St. Louis style ribs which don't grill well, a smoker is the only way to go. For those of us who smoke meat infrequently, the little Brinkmann smoker and this rack is definitely the way to go--great results for a minuscule investment.

This rack is great for maximizing the amount of ribs you can cook on a small surface...my only complaint is that it is truly a pain to clean up afterwards, Even after a full day of soaking in soap and water, bits of meat remained stuck to the surface in every hard to reach corner imaginable...I finally resorted to using a wire brush to get the surface clean, which scratched off the non-stick coating, too (which didn't seem too "non-stick" anyway).

Maybe if you use this rack on a regular gas or charcoal grill, the sticking won't happen--I don't know but because there is nothing like the flavor of slow cooked, smoked ribs over wood/charcoal, I'm OK with putting up with the extra clean-up time a couple of times a year in exchange for the great flavor.

If you don't have to use Brinkmann, there are lots of alternatives out there. For the size of my grill, this was the only choice.

I was so excited to finally find ceramic bricks with a charcoal flavoring for a gas grill. I had looked everywhere locally. Amazon had them all the time. This is why I ordered six bags! Thanks, Amazon.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I'm using these briquets in a Charbroil gas grill with a cooking surface of 25"x14". These are the cheap gas grills you buy at Wal-Mart for $100, so nothing special here. I used to have lavarocks on the flame grate in the grill and was moderately satisfied with them. These briquets look to be a nice upgrade.

Why are these better for lavarocks for me? Well, they are much lower profile when laid flat, which will keep the coals farther away from your food when cooking. This is good because when fat drips down onto the briquets, you reduce the likelihood that a flame will jump up and burn your food. This used to happen ALL the time with the lavarocks, and is a primary reason why I got rid of them.

So functionally these briquets are great. My only grind here is that there isn't quite enough of them in this bag to cover an average sized grill. I could only cover about 80% of the bottom flame grate with the full quantity in the bag which is disappointing. Laying the briquets flat in a square array helps maximize the covered surface area, which is what I'm doing. I'll probably order a second bag in the future if these continue to be as good as they are initially.

Best Deals for Char-Broil 2784773 Hickory Ceramic Briquets

Ceramic briquettes are impossible to find in stores these days. No problems with them so far. There were just enough for my average sized grill. People with large grill will need more than one bag.

Honest reviews on Char-Broil 2784773 Hickory Ceramic Briquets

These work great for keeping the temperture in my smoker up. I cover them with foil to help keep them clean.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Char-Broil 2784773 Hickory Ceramic Briquets

These briquets come as described. I found a couple of broken ones in the bag, but only a couple, with most being intact. The quantity in the bag may or may not be what you desire. If you are simply wanting to line the bottom of your grill with a single layer surrounding the burner (flat), then one bag may be sufficient. If you would prefer multiple layers, perhaps even covering the burner, then you will need multiple bags, probably more than two, depending upon the surface area of your grill.

Best Big Steel Keg 05503 Charcoal Grill for Convection-Style Cooking Deals

Big Steel Keg 05503 Charcoal Grill for Convection-Style Cooking
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

Purchased after considering the Big Green Egg and the Primo Oval XL ceramic grills. I did a lot of research and finally came to the conclusion that the Big Steel Keg had more bang for the buck than the Egg or the Primo. Similary equipped, the Egg or the Oval were $350 $500 more than the Big Steel Keg and then you still need to be concerned about cracks on the ceramic grills from my kids when playing around it.

I can say that so far I've cooked pork chops, beer can chicken, spatchcock chicken, brisket and burgers on the grill so far all were winners. It will cook low and slow at 250 degrees, or you can sear steaks at 750 degrees. I've had good luck holding the low temps with little trouble or variance. Using lump charcoal, the food tastes great and uses small amounts of fuel compared to traditional charcoal grills.

Pros: Smokes or grills awesome!

Even temperature control

Cast iron grill

cradle with wheels included

Cons: Wish the side tables would fold in the down position for storage. That said, they do remove very easily.

Needs better packaging mine arrived with the entire bottom taped by UPS and I thought the grill may have been damaged. It was not.

The manufacturer says that a grill cover is included with this grill mine did not come with one and I have tried to contact the company for a couple of days now and have not had any luck.

Like other reviewers for this product I had been looking at the Big Green Egg (BGE) for some time prior to being introduced to the Big Steel Keg (BSK). Having never had the pleasure of eating food cooked off of either device I had to solely rely on the reviews and recommendations of those wonderful folks online who had. Both product seemed to have dedicated followers online with the BGE having the more... well lets say "devoted" group of people who call themselves "Egg Heads." These fine folks are very dedicated to their cooking vessel of choice and are very vocal about their choice. They post up pictures of their cooks, they write blogs on what they plan on cooking, and they share "how to" articles with each other. ALL GREAT STUFF BTW. The BSK has a smaller yet equally devoted group of fans, who refer to themselves as "Keg Heads" (how original :)). Their related websites show blogs, pictures and "how to's" as well.

So now I'm stuck. No one really says anything negative about their products; both are almost "fanatical" about each. Next I began to actually look at the products. The Egg is well built, heavy ceramic, and has a strong network of dealer support. The Keg is well built, heavy double walled insulated steel, and has a smaller network of retailers who carry the product. It is nearly a wash again.

Next, I looked at the price. The Egg (Large version most similar to the Keg) retails in the neighborhood of $750. This will get you just the keg and a steel cooking grate. The "nest" stand, cover, side tables, cast iron grate are all extra $$ and the total cost can get closer to $1000 by the time you are done. The Keg retails for $699 (but due to being sold through retailers can be had for substantially less) For the price of the keg you get the keg, a stand, side tables, cast iron grate, grill cover, upper grill, and two built in bottle openers (you need these when you grill!) The edge here goes to the Keg.

I ended up buying the Keg. I liked its steel construction, as I tend to move my grill to where the action is, vs forcing the action to be near or around the keg I didn't want to worry about tipping my Egg over and cracking it (you do need to treat the Egg as if it were and egg). I also like the list of accessories it came with from the factory for no additional charge (though I'm sure they could mark down the price if it were sold with out them, I'm glad they include everything you need in one box). And lastly the price, I'm sure people are going to say that you can buy the Egg for much cheaper than retail, but they forget that they then have to worry about getting all of the accessories to go along with it. This is where they where the real price difference comes into play. Sure side by side the prices are close enough to say "Why bother with the `new' product when you can purchase the `standard.'" However, once you make the two equally equipped there is no comparison in price.

Cooking impressions are going to be one sided on this one because I bought the Keg. It is by far the best and easiest grill/smoker I have ever used. I have owned several gas grills (for convenience reasons only), a small Weber grill, and a Char griller Smoker Pro w/ side firebox. The Keg uses the smallest amount of lump coal for every cook. A single 10lb bag can last weeks instead of one to two cooks. The food I have cooked on the keg has been some of the best food I have ever eaten. The grill can get up to 700-800 in a matter of 20 minutes to seer a rib eye steak, and can hold on to 225 for hours on end for those slow cooked ribs.

Buy this grill; it will be the last grill you will ever have to buy, and your food will be come "legendary" :)

Best Deals for Big Steel Keg 05503 Charcoal Grill for Convection-Style Cooking

I bought a Big Steel Keg as a back-up/addition to my Big Green Egg. Instead of a second Egg, I thought I'd try a Keg since it was less expensive and lighter (in case I want to transport it). The Keg is pretty much exactly like the Egg, except I found a couple of key differences after using them both for awhile now. In a nutshell, I find that the Keg heats up much faster than the Egg, but I find it harder to maintain a low temp on the Keg. You really need to keep on top of it, because if it shoots past your desired temp, it's near impossible to get it back down. Interestingly, it holds heat longer and takes hours longer than an Egg to cool down after you shut all of the vents. All in all, it is a well built unit that works great. If I am doing long low and slow, I will tend to go with the Egg because I find it superior at holding low temps. However, For cooks up in the 300+ range, I will go either way. The accessories are pretty much interchangeable between the two (which is great if you have both!). One thing I like better about the Egg's design is that the air holes in the firebox on the Egg are a bit higher than they are on the Keg, meaning they don't get blocked by the lump as easily and allow for better circulation. All in all, I would have no problems recommending the Big Steel Keg. It is well built and works as advertised.

Honest reviews on Big Steel Keg 05503 Charcoal Grill for Convection-Style Cooking

I have been looking at the Green Egg for years hoping the price would come down or some competition would arrive. Price an Egg and you pay for everything as an add on, the stand (nest),then you need blocks (extra of course) to stop the wheels on the nest from rolling, a cover that's extra too, no kidding its one fee after another. The Steel Keg is one size and big enough to feed the entire family with the double rack INCLUDED or to cook for just a few. Unlike the egg which goes up 1-200 through the three sizes available. Before you know it your up to 800 or above.

Fear not, the Keg has landed. Everything you need to do a great job with your BBQ even a way to hitch it to your car/truck is included. Steel, not ceramic, I had mine up to 700 degrees to do a steak and held my hand on the outside of the keg without any problem. It stays cool on the outside while up to 700 inside. Bring your drinking buddies over and show them the Steel Keg and you can be proud to announce it out loud. Tell them you have a green egg and they ask if you called your doctor. So far we have cooked chickens, burgers, steaks outstanding results, made a steak for my friend this weekend and he liked it so much he went out and purchased one the next day. Spend much less, get the same or better results as other Kamado cooking devices and get everything you need for one price including the COVER. You will cook all day at the temp you want with only a hand full of lump charcoal. If your like us and have been waiting for Eggs to come down in price, don't anymore, the competition is here and its gooooooood eating, enjoy!

I bought this when it was the Bubba Keg Charcoal Grill. Fantastic. As I mentioned in a comment on another post, I bought it to replace a GrillDome ceramic cooker on which all of the paint had flaked off and my firebox had cracked twice. It was still functional, but as soon as I saw this I wanted one. As another review mentioned, at $600 it compares very well with the ceramics out there because you get all the basics standard which are extras on the ceramics.

One thing not mentioned, is that the grill itself is really cool cast iron. The grill bars are triangular, and it appears obvious that they intend you to use it with the pointed tops up because the formed-in holes that upper shelf sits on extend downwards (ie, the top of the grill is all the same level with the triangle points up, and if you turn the grill over so that the flat side is up the collars on the holes extend up into the cooking surface. I DON'T CARE! I almost always use it "upside down" because all that cast iron in contact with the meat gives you fantastic carmelization. I don't want skinny little lines that look good, I want big seared lines that taste good! Do the usual 90 degree turn partway through each side to give you cross-hatch marks on your meat and the is more area in the grill marks than between them. YUM.

Being cast iron, it works best if you season it well with several sessions of coating with lard or bacon grease (or shortening, I guess, if you must) and then cooking it at 350 or so for an hour. I had a beautiful season on mine. Then left it wide open during a party and two hours at 800F reduced it all to fine ash.... Got to start all over again.

Anyway, I'm maybe over the top a little on this, but after dealing with the GrillDome for about 8 years, and now this for a year, I still love this thing. I just leave it full of charcoal from the last cook, so when it gets a bit low I dump more in. When I want to use it I stick the electric starter in it, I'm cooking in 10-15 minutes no muss no fuss. When I'm done I close the top and bottom dampers so the charcoal (lump, always) goes out quickly and is ready for the next cook. It makes grilling almost as easy as using the stove. Once in a while I clean out the ashes (every 5-6 cooks, maybe more) and I give the grill a quick wire brushing after I heat it back up for the next cook, but that is it. Takes a lot longer than that to clean the stove top.....

And it does low and slow for ribs (6 hours) or pork butt (24 hours) really well, too. I have a little trouble keeping it dialed in on temp, but if I check it every hour for the ribs I'm set (usually no changes are needed). For the butt, once I get it stable over several hours of adjustments I'm usually fine for the rest of the cook. There are a couple of automatic dampers (bbq guru or stoker) which can be used with this, and I've considered getting them, but so far I do well enough on my own. But I like toys, so maybe....

But for now, the steaks I make are some of the best I've ever had, and I've only had spare ribs at one place in Tennessee that were better (now closed, sadly). My only problem is that I'm trying to lose weight and this isn't helping....

I guess this reads like I'm shilling for this company. Nope. I don't even know who makes the thing.

Wow!!! If I would have known how much better the replacement stainless steel grids would be over the original grids, I would have bought them years ago!!! They cook better and are waaaaaaay easier to keep clean!!

Best Deals for 65223 - Stainless Steel Cooking Grid for Gas Grill Models

I have a Jenn-Air model # 720-0337 grill that is about 4 years old. It was in need of some replacement parts, to include the grill grates. I purchased these because they were about $40 cheaper than the oem factory grills that Jenn-Air includes with their units.

When I received these replacements, they were packaged well and appeared the same as the originals. The set included 3 grill grates, just like the original set. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the actual grill bars are a tad bit thinner than my original grates' bars. Also, one of the bars was disconnected at the weld where it was once attached. Not too pleasing, since I waited over a week for them to arrive and didn't feel like sending them back and waiting several more weeks.

In closing, these will serve the purpose....but...if you are like me and like your stuff to look and perform like the original opt to spend a few more bucks and get the factory ones.

Purchased this cover in November 2009, and decided after a full year's wear to submit a review. Finding a cover to accommodate my large grill was tough enough, but locating one to take on a Michigan winter was even more difficult. This cover is fantastic! It held up great over the course of the year, and no matter how much the winds blew, the cover stayed put, and looked great while doing so. So far the fabric has not thinned in any area over the stress points (i.e., edges of the grill shelves), there's been no indication of mildew or mold, and the weight of the fabric is great for all kinds of weather. You won't go wrong buying this product, especially if you're looking for exceptional quality.

Motor mechanism works well.

The metal rod is adjustable, but did not have the correct combination of parts to fit my particular grill (Char-Broil Performance Tru-Infrared 340 2-Burner Gas Grill)

The end of the rotisserie had grooves to keep it from falling out of the motor, which I'm sure is a great feature if it fits your grill.

The package includes a prop for the grill lid as well as the spit works and extenders. I think it's clever how the motor can be positioned one way for normal use (with the lid closed) and when turned around works with the extender at the other end and the lid propped open for larger items. The attaching screws are too long but I haven't found them to get in the way. One of these days I'll change them though.

Unit was as advertised, took a little adjusting and had to add spacers to mounts in order for it to fit properly and allow my grill lid to operate properly. Great price much less than direct from Char Broil.

Honest reviews on Char-Broil Urban Grill Rotisserie Kit

Use this baby for a lot of different things. Chickens, Tenderloins, Steaks, Ribs. Really anything that is bulky enough to fall on the spear, and stay. We use the smaller two grate InfraRed model. Throw some soaked wood chip in the bottom and start Rotisserie-ing. Just ordered my second unit. The first one lasted a few years. But I used and abused it. If it makes a difference, the first one was purchased from the Manufacturers own website. Thank goodness for Amazon. Save a little money!! Would estimate i used it 60-70 times. 30 minute to 1 hour runs. Works out to less than 50 cents a spin. Well worth it though. The mfg site unit finally cratered last week. one of the mounting screws came unhinged. probably could have glued it back in, but what the hey. Another $30 will get me thru a few more years and then i will upgrade to the bigger InfraRed Unit.

This is a must have, and the most important add on for these Infrared units!!!!!!

iDevices Ambient Temperature Probe Grill Thermometer
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Being an avid BBQ-er, I used to spend many sleepless hours checking on my smoker when cooking butts, shoulders, briskets, etc. Now I no longer have to do that with the purchase of my iGrill and the ambient temperature probe. The addition of this probe to my iGrill and having the app on my phone, I no longer have to wake up every two hours (1am, 3am, 5am, 7am...) to check my temperature. If I have any heat spikes or drops, I can now get a notification on my iphone. I can also monitor a graph that shows me what the temperature was throughout the cook. It also measures temperature accurately, much better than the temperature gauge built in to my Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker. Other probes that I have used with different temperature monitors were cheaply made and the wires would quickly begin to pull away from its terminated connection at the probe end. I have not had this problem with any of the iGrill probes, which have been extensively used over the past 9 months. I don't know how I ever survived without it!

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I love the Igrill but some of the probes are finicky. Careful cleaning them or exposing them to too much heat. So i had to replace the first one pretty quickly.

Best Deals for iDevices iGrill Ambient Temperature Probe -Kids

I've tried using this twice and the first few minutes it works great, but then I get the message "Probe not detected." I disconnected it and reconnected it several times and continued to get the same error message. My iPad had no trouble connecting to the iGrill via Bluetooth, but even at distances of 10 feet away, I kept getting the message "Probe not detected" whenever I would try to use this probe. After reading some other reviews, it appears that this is a fairly common problem with these probes. Too bad, as I really wanted the ambient probe to monitor the cooking temperature inside the grill as opposed to the meat temperature. It's really difficult to cook when you're constantly messing with a gadget that doesn't work like it's supposed to! I ended up returning mine to Amazon for a refund.

Honest reviews on iDevices iGrill Ambient Temperature Probe -Kids

I bought this probe so I could monitor the air temperature in my smoker while smoking meat. Monitoring and maintaining air temperature inside the smoker is critical to the success of smoked meats.

I liked the length of the probe wire.

I had to get creative in order to make the mount work inside my grill.

I would recommend this as a must-have accessory to the iGrill thermometer if knowing the air temperature of your cooking vessel is important.
