This is not the fanciest grill on the market, but a deal for the price. I bought this grill 8 years ago at Lowes for $100. It has been outside in the elements the entire time (snow, ice and rain). I've never covered it. It's rusted, but completely functional. We grill out frequently in all seasons. It has a very large cooking surface. I've had deck parties and grilled for 25 people easily. The grill grate is covered with a non-stick surface and is still in perfect condition. It cleans very easily. The pan for the charcoal is a flat piece of sheet-metal that can be raised and lowered to 3 or 4 different levels. Honestly, it doesn't allow for good air circulation. After a couple years I ditched it and used some fire brick to elevate a separate grate in the bottom for the charcoal. Works brilliantly. The wood on this thing is bamboo and will not hold up. So, you'll have to replace it after a season in the elements. Or, you could just cover it or bring it inside. The thermometer is useless. It has cheap plastic wheels, but they have held up reasonably well.

Overall, I've got my money's worth 3 or 4 times over out of this grill. I would not hesitate to recommend it if this is your price range and you are looking for a large charcoal grill.

There is one flaw I didn't mention: this grill didn't hold up well when my wife backed into it with her car. Sadly, I had to retire it to the junk yard today.

I needed a rectangle grill with easy access to the charcoal. I especially bought this because it had to be assembled and we didn't need the legs, and my reasearched said it doesn't rust.

We forgot to cover the grill after we assembled it and left it outside. The top rusted and the little screws were very easy to loosen up. Things started falling apart. The handle to the lid, the side "air" started to tighten up due to rust. we had to repaint it with rust-proof paint, hopefully it stops the rust until my husband fire up the grill again.

With sterno this grill works fine I used a small can of sterno emptied it into the grill and it burned for about 35 minutes. It would be nice if it would burn longer but we still had time to roast "teeny weenies" and make s'mores.

The grill is sturdy and has a removable central pot to hold the coal, and it is decorated with very cute but totally non function handles. The aforementioned coal pot is so small a standard briquet needs the corners broken off to fit down into it.

The grills "usable" grilling area is about large enough to grill one medium sized shrimp!

I wanted the size hibatchi you are brought tableside in restaurants...this wasn't it. But, it is cute!

Most of the smoker boxes that I've seen are too small, poorly made, and are for wood chips only.This box is perfect for me since I prefer wood chunks.Even though it's made in India, it's quality is excellent.The top slides on to the bottom and the handle folds over for easy storage.Another positive is that the only holes in the box are on the top.This is perfect for long lasting smoke,no flame-up, just smoldering wood.I use this on a Weber propane grill, resting it on a flavorizer bar with the burner beneath on low.I know this box will last many,many years.

This is a great smoker box!

A few things that stood out to me when I first opened the box:

The thickness of the walls. I was worried it was going to be made from flimsy sheet metal, but I was mistaken. This is a good, study box.

The handle is a useful feature. I didn't really pay any attention to this until I had to move it while I was grilling.

One thing to pay close attention to is the height of the box. This box will not fit under my grate because it's too tall. So if you are looking for a box to sit on the flavor bars, make sure this box will fit your grill. I have been sitting the box on my grate and it is been giving me great results.

My wife bought me this for a Christmas gift. I've been a back yard barbecue fan for many years and have put in the time needed to learn proper fire management and what it takes to turn out good product. I used this cameron steel box smoker according to directions with the two tablespoons of chips and cooked two Omaha steaks with it. The results were terrible as used with the instructions given. Bitter meat and basically, it ruined the steaks.

The concept with this product is flawed right from the start. If you're smoking in an enclosed box with no air flow, you'll get incomplete combustion of the chips, which in turn, produces creosote. Creosote is what produces a bitter flavor on the meat. Poor air flow in any kind of smoker will cause this problem. Any pit master will tell you the same thing. If you live in a northern climate and can't be bothered with setting up your smoker on a snow covered patio deck, you're better off going to your local BBQ restaurant, rather than wasting time with this lazy-que meat ruin-er.

I brought one of these home from Thailand after spending a month there. This is the funnest BBQ ever. I marinate thin beef and pork meat I buy at the Asian Grocery in Soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, lime, sugar, pepper, ginger and garlic. Toss on a chunk of fat at the top to season the grill. Fill the "moat" with chicken stock and veggies and feed 4 very happy people. I want to get a second one so I can feed more people at once!

I looked to see what if any seasoning needed to be done but I could not find any. So I heated the insert grill up to remove any type of machining oil. I sprayed cooking spray on it and brushed it with cooking oil and let it smoke for a while. I have a 3 burner gas gril and I have to watch the settings of the burners as not to overcook the meat.

I went to an Asiain market to get the meat the first time and found it was too expensive. I then went to a Mexian market and they did have the thinly sliced cuts of beef I wanted. I marinated the meat over over an hour or so and the placed the meat on the grill insert.

Once cooking the meat and cleaning. I had to get a knife and scrape the burnt residue that was around the sides of the insert. The residue did not come off easily with a cleaning pad.

Still I like the insert grill and will use it again.

I am not a Korean, so my review of 1 star could be biased, but at this stage I really hate it! I used the insert right after I received it for marinated pork belly. Food was good but I spent hours trying to clean the insert, and could not get it done. In the manual, it required hand wash with soft brush...

---one day after my review, I put the dirty insert on the hot grill (after all food was done and there were charcoal left, I just want to give it a try), and used hard grill brush to clean it while it was hot. i am not satisfied with the cleaning result but it became ok.

Grill heats up vetry fas and first time I used it did not realize how much hotter this grill getrs vs. my old BroilKing.

Ever since we got the grill, there's nothing but problem. First, the whole rotisserie kit was missing. I tried calling customer service, it literally took 1 and 1/2 hrs for someone to answer only to put you on hold for a good 20 more minutes. The most annoying thing was the grill was not hot enough. I was looking for a HOT grill for a good sear on my steaks, this grill was not even hot enough to grill sliced steaks for carna asada! No grill marks what so ever after the first grill mark you placed the meat on the grill! The side burner flame was almost non-existence when the other burners are on at the same time. They have sent part to replace of what seems to be the problem, and nothing was changed. The grill would only get to about 300 degrees w/ the lid closed for 20 minutes but the moment you put any meat on the grill, you might as well get your frying pan out. I spent way too much money hoping to get a commercial grade grill but this was a piece of junk!

I have a Costco/Kirkland Model 720-0193. These probably work wonderfully on other models, but not on my Kirkland 720-0193. They really look great and look identical, I was thrilled when I first saw them. But after installing them and using every adjustment to the jets that I could all I got was a monster 4-5" yellow flame at the far end of the burner (instead of the recommended 1' blue flame along the length). On further looking at these burners they have larger holes than the originals.... that's probably the problem. Costco's Chinese grill source no longer has the replacement parts (ditto form my previous "house brand" grill from Lowes). This was the second attempt for replacement burners, so I have failed twice, and am giving up. I will try buying my next grill from a more traditional manufacturer where getting parts might be more probable. Maybe I will buy my replacement burners from the actual manufacturer immediately and hold on to them for when they are ultimately needed.

These Grill Charms are an absolute must if cooking meat. We use them for Steaks to know which one is well done (like the wife likes them) and which one is rare (for me). We no longer have to cut through the steak to find out which is which AND the chef doesn't have to remember which steak is supposed to be rare, medium or well done. Charm the steak and know how to cook that piece of meat.

We also like to try different rubs. Some like spicy and others like mild. Now we can rub it, charm it and everyone knows if a certain meat is spicy or mild. The same goes for hot and mild sausage.

The charms stay in the meat and identify it. WE LOVE THE GRILL CHARMS!!

Could be better...as it stands this set is only good for grilling a maximum of 2-4 steaks.

If you're cooking 4 steaks do you really need 2 that say "rare"? Probably not (who orders a steak rare?). If it were up to me, I would have changed the 6 charm set to: 2-medium rare 2-medium 2-medium well

Bottom line, would be better if there were 8 charms, i.e. use the above plus add 1-rare and 1-well. Or have snap-in letters that are interchangeable. But overall, a good concept.

i used this on a gril/smoker that is not a BGE. in prepping it, i've run the heat up to about 500+ degrees and the gasket holds up nicely with no leaks. it is exactly what i needed. the spray-on glue probably isn't the cleanest way to apply the glue to grill but it wasn't bad as long as used a piece of cardboard to keep excess glue from spraying all over parts where i didn't want it.

After purchasing my Big Green Egg a few years ago, one of the first things I had to replace was the stock gasket that came with my egg. The gasket wasn't difficult to install and has worked great for years. The base of my egg developed a crack and BGE replaced the base at no charge. The replacement base came with the stock gasket and I immediately bought another one of the Nomex Hi-temp gaskets before I installed the new base. I cook a lot of brisket and pork at low temperatures on my grill, but I also do a lot of pizza and high temp steak searing as well, and this gasket works perfect! If you only do low heat smoking on your grill the stock gasket will probably work fine for a while, but why not install one of these and never have to worry about it again. Highly recommend this product!

I purchased this item with some gift cards. It is really junk and I am sorry I ever purchased it. After one use it reads only 300 degrees, no more! The needle is exposed and not inside a sealed glass, so there is life span problems from the git-go. The package it comes in makes it appear to have a glass cover. Save your money and buy a useful item for your grill.

The first Taylor grill thermometer we had broke after a few uses. I decided that might have been a fluke, and gave it another try. We've used the new one once, so I can't comment on its longevity. However, although the description clearly states that there's a magnet on the back of the thermometer (and the first one we had DID have a magnet), it won't stick to anything else we have magnets on around the house!

I leave my thermometers on the BBQ grill start to finish so the glass covered ones just don't work for me as the glass becomes clouded even after 1 use.

This one tells me when the grill is at 550 to sear, and when the indirect heat is at 350. Ultimately the numbers become smoke covered, but even after they are not legible I know the top center is 300 and the top right 400 and it still registers accurately.

I just purchased my 2nd, and it works just as reliably as the 1st.
