Amazon sending Cherry chips; I exchanged it and they sent another cherry; it is not worth another retry.

The box is good quality and MADE IN USA which is very difficult to find in a smoke box.

Now, these were a gift for Christmas, and to my knowledge, my step-dad has not smoked anything yet, but the boxes are huge, and the flavors look awesome!

Note: The original order that I placed said the flavors would be Cherry, Apple, Pecan and Bourbon Barrel; but what actually arrived was Cherry, HICKORY, Pecan and Bourbon Barrel, which was even better!

I had an old cover on my XL that was splitting from it's own weight. I decided to replace it before winter and ordered this one. It looks in the picture like it isn't fitted, but it is. It is designed just like the earlier covers and fits as well as they did but it is made of lighter material and doesn't have the 'rubberized' feel to the finish. I am happy with the cover and am confident it will last longer due to the lighter weight.

One note, all the time I had my old cover, it never came off unless I removed it. With this cover it's light enough that the wind pulled it up and off the grill. It does come with grommets installed on each end so now I use 2 bungee cords to hold it on and have not had any more issues.

I bought this fryer for my thanksgiving turkey, and have used it once successfully. I fried a 13 pound bird with 2 gallons of oil for 4 minutes a pound, and got a delicious, moist, and decidedly not greasy turkey. Set up took around 10 minutes, mainly to familiarize myself with the few parts, and clean up was fairly easy as the spigot on the bottom of the fryer made draining the oil pretty simple, and everything pretty much wiped clean.

Living in an urban area, where flaming mishaps are a really bad idea, I appreciate the safety of this fryer over an open vat of oil over an open flame. And plugging in is much easier than hauling propane tanks around. The outside of the fryer remained cool to touch at all times. It is obvious that a good amount of thought went into making it safe to use in an indoor environment.

Some limitations:

The fryer only holds two gallons of oil. Actually, the "max fill" line is at around 1.6 or 1.7 gallons. I added the full two gallons with no problems (with a 13 pound turkey). The less oil, and the larger the turkey, the more the oil will be cooled down when the turkey is added. This is less a problem with a propane fire which can crank out the BTUs than it is with an electric heating element, which produces a more modest amount of heat. So a major limitation of this fryer is that once you add the turkey, the oil will not again achieve the desired 375 degree temperature. To minimize this, I would recommend using a modest size turkey, and I also recommend allowing the turkey to come as close to room temperature as safety allows before adding it into the oil.

The fryer is labeled for indoor use only, presumably due to limited weatherproofing of electric parts. Unfortunately, frying with this much oil in your house will produce a significant greasy odor. One solution might be to use a garage or other outbuilding. I used it in my back yard, on a table with a large patio umbrella covering it. Technically, this is a violation of the labeling, but it worked for me.

The fryer has a digital timer, but for some odd reason, the timer is not connected to the heating element. So while it may beep that your food is cooked, it still keeps cooking it. It seems to me that an automatic shutoff would be worthwhile for safety.

In summary, this fryer will safely fry a turkey, producing a moist and tasty (though maybe not so crispy) bird. It is useful for those people who are uncomfortable with the safety of the standard techniques of frying a turkey. I recommend keeping the size of the turkey on the smallish side, to that the oil will stay hot during frying.

I started using this Indoor Fryer 2 days ago. Best catfish ever! I also fried turkey wings and a whole chicken the same day. I had no trouble at all with a 4 lb chicken and bought some small turkeys to fry later. Imagine frying a whole chicken in 17 minutes! No need to imagine it, you can do it!

Easy to use even for a beginner. Cleanup is a breeze! The oil drains perfectly clean if you want to use it again. I was able to drain it all back into the bottles without using a strainer.

The Masterbuilt company has answered every question in a very timely fashion. I would recommend this Indoor Fryer to anyone looking to have fun frying foods.

Received this as Xmas gift and finally got around to using it today (took me awhile to get all the oil, marinades, and accessories, and to find an excuse to fry a Turkey, and to get over my "fear of frying"). Overall I have to say it's a great piece of equipment, and now that I have taken the plunge, I will likely be using it for frying other foods.

It heated up quickly and my oil thermometer confirmed the temp was spot on, (although my green ready light did not light up as I thought it should). It cooked a 10.5oz Turkey to perfection in exactly 45 minutes. It is recommended to cook 3.5 minutes/pound which would have been 36.75 minutes. I decided I'd rather slightly over than under cook so I set timer for 40 mins. At 40 I checked internal temp and it wasn't quite there so I gave it another 5 and then it was definitely done. Clean up was no worse than the usual Turkey roasting pan, et al, The drainer worked perfectly and I was surprised to get back nearly as much oil as I had started with, thinking that certainly the turkey would "drink" some of the oil..not so apparently. The turkey was juicy, not greasy at all. It did not heat up the kitchen, nor smell up house, and the greasy mess was confined to the internal washable parts. The only problem I had was getting the bird out of the basket, and that might be because I had a bird from a local farm, not as refined as say a Butterball, and the skin was looser in places, and it stuck to the basket. So it didn't come out as "pretty" as in the advertising, but we don't eat the skin anyway. I wish it had a longer cord, although I understand why it's so short, it made it a little harder for me since I have a very small kitchen and had to use it on a separate cart pulled up to the counter, so it just barely was long enough. I took the manual at face value and did not use an extension cord, although I may try that in the future when a turkey isn't at stake. One last comment: Since I had not used it and wanted to test it before buying an expensive bird, I plugged it in empty for about 1 minute a few days ago only long enough to see that it came on and started to heated up. Apparently that was long enough to "overheat" and shut off the unit, which I did not realize until I plugged it in today and the power light did not light. After a few frantic moments I discovered the reset "button" on the control panel. If I had read the entire manual first I would have known about it. So...lesson #1-don't turn it on empty lesson #2, read your manual and be aware of "reset" before you have a near heart attack.

Honest reviews on Masterbuilt Butterball Professional Series Indoor Electric Turkey

Successor to company's earlier kettle-style units.

Worked very well first time out of the gate.

Cooked a 13.7lb turkey in the minium time.

Seems well built and thought out.

I prefer an electric fryer to a gas one for reasons of safety and that it can be used inside.

I owned an earlier Masterbuilt that worked well but failed after only a few Thanksgivings.

The main reason I gave this one a 4 instead of 5 star is that, to me, the jury's out on the reliability.

Still, the first one worked well enough to give them a second chance.

Right now, this one's working great.

I have just recently used my Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer and the instructions were fine but my first turkey did not cook all the way using the instructions. Also a small black piece, that help hold the cover door attachment on, which has the compartment on it broke off. I haven't had time to see what can be done about it. My second turkey turned out much better but what I did was to use my outdoor turkey fryer temperature gauge to check the oil temperature and found out that it was only 280 degrees while cooking and it would only get up to 360 degrees when it says it's 375 degrees with no turkey in it. So I made adjustments to my cooking time and was able to get a better outcome the second time around.

Reviews of Big Green Egg Grill Extender

Big Green Egg Grill Extender
Customer Ratings: 2.5 stars

My wife bought me this as a present. When I took the item out of the box, I thought, "that's pretty cool, you can lift either side to get to items on the grill below". It also seemed like it was made from good quality stainless steel. I was anxious to try it.

When I attached it to my large Green Egg grill, I thought that I must be doing something wrong because it already felt like it could fall over or get dislodged from the attachment points pretty easily. Unfortunately, I realized there is only one way it goes on and I was doing it correctly.

The legs are slightly springy and are bent at the ends so that they grab around the bars of the grill below, but believe me, it results in a very un-sturdy setup!! Since the intent of the springy legs is to create pressure for the leg's "hooks" to grab securely, the design may have worked if there was more pressure. As it is, any significant weight will cause it to be pushed down and effectively "unhook" the legs from the grill below. Maybe the other two reviewers were placing something like vegetable skewers or some other lightweight item on this thing because that's all it's good for. I tried some chicken breasts on the bone and although it did hold them, I felt like I had to go about my flipping and moving very gingerly!

Also, when I tried to lift up one side to get to the items on the lower grill, (after taking half of the chicken pieces completely off) the thing fell over because of the weight of the food on just one side (along with the previously mentioned attachment issue). I mean, isn't that half the point of this thing... that you can lift up one side to get to your food below without having to take all the food off first? It wasn't like I had a pork butt on top of it, it was a couple of chicken breasts!

Speaking of pork butt, don't even think about putting pork butts on top of, or below this thing! There is only 2 3/4" (at most) of height between the bottom of this and your grid below! MAJOR disappointment.

Check out the ceramicgrillstore for serious BGE accessories, but expect to pay more. No, I am NOT affiliated with them.

I own one of these, and I would not recommend it.

First, when it is properly set up, it only sits about three inches above the grill. As such, you can't cook ribs or a thick brisket on bottom.

Second, the legs are designed to keep it from sliding--they are NOT designed to hold weight. So if you think you're going to cook a big cut of meat on top, think again.

I'll give it two stars, because when I'm lucky, I can get some ribs to sit on top of a brisket. So I guess it will work in a pinch. However, I would look elsewhere. Everybody on the forum goes with the Spider setup at Ceramic Grill Store. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to be all the rage....

I have a large green egg. Often times I am cooking more meats and fish than will fit on the regular grill. The extender fits securely above the regular grill and adds quite a bit more cooking area for additional items. This saves time, energy and coals.

Honest reviews on Big Green Egg Grill Extender

It gives almost no room for anything underneath. I wish I would have read the reviews before I bought it. I love BGE. But I hate this product.

I too bought this with the expectations of being able to add additional cooking space to my large egg. Technically, it does add space, but it's very limited as to what can be cooked using it. Personally, I've rather spend more time cooking than messing with the thing. When I attached the grate, I thought I had done something wrong because there were only a couple of inches between the bottom and top grates. It is hinged with the "ability" to lift one side, but this needs to be done by an Operation board game champion because one wrong move will collapse the legs. If you have anything covering the top grate, you have no access to the lower grate. And since the lower grate receives the hotter temps, the extender does nothing but get in the way. Mine now sits under my grill on a shelf with other eqipment I rarely use. Until they make one strong enough to swivel out of the way, you would have more success using a brick standing on its end with a small grate on top.

We bought this print to place in the screen room of the new home we are building. The print arrived well packaged and in excellent shape. We are very pleased with the quality. We can't say how it will hold up to the elements and it really won't be very exposed (north facing wall of house 12 feet from the outside of the screen room), but we are pleased with what we received. Now if our builder would just get our house finished so we can hang it!!

The regulator on my grill started to "buzz", and the grill did not get hot enough. I purchased a replacement at a camper store, but it was not satisfactory. A Google search taught me a lot about high versus low pressure regulators. I selected the King Kooker and hooked it up. The outflow side has a smaller pipe size than my original, but an adapter fixed that. The grill works better than new. I could adjust the flow to maximize the burner flame, and had plenty of adjustment either way. A good product. I live in the Western Mine mountains, where winter is below zero, so I look forward to being able to fine tune the regulator for lower temperatures.

I thought this would be a 30 psi (High Pressure) regulator. They think 10 psi is "high" pressure. Not described enough.

This unit transforms your lackluster gas grill. But it isn't the easiest to use in practice.

A few Notes:

1. I use this mainly for super high temperature steak grilling.

2. It is very sensitive and has a wide range of pressure. You will likely use it in the middle of its multi-turns, and adjust in a 90-degree range of the knob;

3. The adjustment knob is "Right turn" for more gas, "Left turn" for less gas; opposite to the gas valve of the tank or any normal faucet;

4. I use my normal regulator when I don't need the boosted gas; using the rotisserie for instance. Because of the different way this regulates, the grill's top-side heat valves have a reduced range -or at least is seems this way on mine. I keep a wrench and the old regulator with my grill at all times.

The main thing is to use it within the small range of the multi-turn red valve setting, the extremes of this valve are not very useful (for a typical gas grill) and at the high end could get you in trouble (melt-down type of trouble).

One last note: It makes it possible to actually cook a steak on your average gas grill.

I bought this cover (perhaps not the exact same size) a little over 2 years ago. In the discription it claims, "Fire-retardant fabric offers UV protection and resists cold cracking." Well after about 1 1/2 years it began cracking and tearing all along the top. The grill does sit in the hot Savannah sun. But it is obvious that the claim of UV protection is false. I would rather pay a little more money and get one that wouldn't have to be replaced every couple of years. I will say that if your grill is in a sheltered area, it might last longer. But they shouldn't make claims that are not true.

I know the description says small and I do have a smaller gas grill, but I was very impressed with the fullness of this cover and the handy velcro fasteners. It completely covered my grill for the winter with no risk of blowing off, and the quality of the material was excellent. I will be using again soon and expect it will last through many seasons.

I purchased the gas grill cover in spite of the color (green is not my first choice), but it was priced better than in the local hardware stores. Shipping was a little steep, at over half the value of the item purchased, but was prompt and the item was packaged well. As it all turned out, the shade of green is not half bad, and the velcro straps on either side keep the cover securely on my grill. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

Although I am using this to cover something other that a grill, it does the job nicely. With the end tabs that enable you to secure it you can almost make it fit whatever you need to cover. In my case a work cart. Does the job and for $10 how can you go wrong. Did not really want green but oh well, it seems to be made pretty good also with the lining adding some heft to it.
