I received this a few weeks ago and tried it out the other night on 4 eight oz. Filet Mignons. Grat grill marks, no flare ups and very juicy Filets. It is on the expensive side but I had to splurge for the Weber Performer as I LOVE TO GRILL. Covers majority of grill thus no wasted space. Very quality durable material that should last a VERY long time. Be careful though as the edges that were cut to fit the Weber are VERY VERY sharp and could cause deep nasty cuts. Surprised the company did not round down as this could be a lawsuit in the making.

Down-side.....if you Google this item you can find a $20 off coupon and order it from the manufactures site (I found the next day after ordering from Amazon). I email the company and 3 weeks later NO ANSWER. Poor customer service. If they offer the discount THEN OFFER IT TO EVERYONE! Sharp edges could cause severe cuts.

Gave if 4 stars for price and poor customer service (too bad Amazon can't breakdown the starts by category).

Good Grilling to ALL!

UPDATE SEPT. 2013

I thought it was time for an update. I loved this grate when I first purchased it however as time went on the 3 pieces would not stay connected. Thus, I stopped using it about a year ago.

Instead I found Stok SIS9000 Grill Replacement 22-1/2-Inch Grate. It is much cheaper however not cheap. Look at my review on that grate. I wish they had the Stok produced a few years ago as I LOVE IT vs. the GrillGrate now however time will tell as to how well it holds up.

Thus, I dropped the rating from a 4 to a 2 Star

I am an avid cook and very serious foodie. I own All-Clad cookware, Masahiro knives, a Viking stove, sous vide cookers, vacuum sealers, etc. and use them all. I'd pondered the Grillgrates for a couple of years and finally asked for a set for Christmas this year. After unboxing, I washed them & heated on the stove, applying a thin film of oil to season them. Once they were cooled, I fired up the grill then cooked a marinated spatchcocked chicken. I was particularly impressed with the results because at one point in the cooking process, I got distracted and I forgot to tend the bird for about 8-10 minutes. This was while the bird was directly over the flames of my charcoal Weber Performer grill, and without the Grillgrates, the bird would surely have vaporized into a nasty piled of charcoal and bones. But the Grillgrates provided enough protection that the bird was virtually unharmed other than some blackened skin on the thighs. The chicken was beautifully cooked and the rest of the skin was a nice bronze color with good texture. Plus one for the Grillgrates!

My second and third time using the Grillgrates, I noticed the down-side of these hefty aluminum plates they absorb and dissipate a lot of heat! (They would be better made of cast iron, IMO). Here's the reason: Aluminum is very effective conductor of heat. This means that it heats up very quickly, but then also transfers that heat very quickly to something else. This results in great sear marks where the heat is being absorbed from the fire and then transferred to the meat along the thin lines of the grill top. The problem is that this heat is then unavailable around the other areas of the meat meaning that you get nice cosmetic sear marks on the surface of the meat, but in the spaces between the sear marks, there is hardly any browning occurring (no Maillard reaction). I found this to be the case with both beef steaks (ribeye and New York cuts) as well as salmon fillets. Unless I apply a lacquer of maple syrup or brown sugar to the salmon (some sugar to caramelize), I cannot get a crust to form without over-cooking it on the Grillgrates. I'm still experimenting with steaks to get a good crust, but my general impression is that unless they are very thick cuts, they will need to be pan-seared before putting onto the grill in order to get the level of crust to form that I prefer on a grilled steak.

For those willing to go through the effort, my BEST result so far was to cook 1" thick Ribeye steaks sous vide in a 135 degree bath for an hour, then pan sear them in a smoking hot cast iron skillet AND THEN mark them on the Weber/Grillgrates (burning oak or mesquite wood). This results in a juicy, perfect medium steak (the way we like them) with the fat all rendered, but without an over-cooked edge, AND wonderful crust and sear marks. Lots of work, but sometimes it is just worth it.

The Grillgrates are definitely an important part of my cooking arsenal, but they are not perfect, and require some specialized handling if you want optimum results, in my opinion. I give them an extra star for the quality of construction, but would take away half a star if I could for the excessive cost (I think $120 is a bit excessive $60 or $70 seems more reasonable to me).

Things rarely live up to the hype, however these did not disappoint. I live in a real windy area so heat dissipates rather quickly, so these grates really make a difference. I can cut my usage of briquets in half and still get a higher temperature. I absolutely love them. Craig "meathead" Goldwyn is correct again. I have yet to experience an item that didn't live up to his reviews.

Honest reviews on Cut to fit GrillGrates for 22" Weber Kettle

When I first saw the recommendation by Meathead of AmazingRibs.com I thought I would buy a set without telling my wife she thinks I waste too much cash on my collection of BBQ gadgets! Last weekend, however, at our holiday house in France I admitted to buying it, and cooked some spicy pork chops. What a success! So juicy and tasty were the chops that she has now asked me to buy a second set for use at home in England. Our daughter who was with us for the weekend has asked that we give her our UK GrillGrates when we retire to France in a couple of years.

Great, GRATE BBQ accessory! (pun intended)

I have tried several different grills for my charchol bbq's...this one is the best!

I spent over $300 on a cast iron grill setup for my weber which quickly rusted and was a hassle to maintain. Not only are the GrillGrates easy to maintain but you can taste the difference this grill makes in the food.

No more burning hamburgers if you're distracted for a few minutes, food is juicy and tender everytime!

I have now purchased GrillGrates for all my bbq's!

The gloves did insulate from heat as advertised. I love the fact that I can pick up large items like turkeys and pork shoulders without burning my hands. On the down side, the gloves are hard to get on and off. This is especially a problem when you get grease on them as the surface of the glove gets very slick so you will need to wash them off first or get some assistance.

Glove won't fit properly because it is too generic.

Made for either hand. Could be made for right or

left hand. Difficult to remove from hands.

I'm so glad I got this product. Sure it was as hard to get in to as an already wet wetsuit whilst being beaten like a pinata at a frat party, but once you were in there, dear god. I took the ring to mordor and just put my hand in to get rid of that thing, no epic throw camera shot needed. Definitely would recommend.

Honest reviews on Grill Glove GG100 Silicone Grilling Glove

"As Seen On TV" on the packaging should have been an effective early warning system, but it was not. My husband reported that his hand got uncomfortably warm (yes, HOT) inside this glove while turning skewers on the grill. This silicone glove just doesn't work as described -not at all! Will return for a refund.

The design seems great. It's got ridges for a non-slip grip. However, it's sized approximately as men's medium, which means that somebody with a large or extra-large hand (such as myself) will find it hard to get on & off, and stiff to use. It's a pity, because otherwise it seems to be a great product.

This fit my new style Performer grill perfectly. Doesn't blow off in the wind, either. One small issue is that rain water will pool on top of it over the counter part of the grill. Mosquitoes will breed in this water pool. Try putting something on top of the counter, like a small plate, then cover the grill. The plate will tent up the cover, making the water run off.

I am happy with this cover. It fits perfectly on my 2008 Weber Performer model #848001 which is the dark blue model. No problems with the fit. We get very high winds in the winter, and so far have not had any super bad winds, but I've had good luck so far by simply placing a couple of vinyl tipped metal construction spring clips at apposing corners around the legs of the Performer. I can't see how it could blow off with the 2 clips in place. When I take it off to use the Performer, I simply fold it up loosely and put it in the fold out charcoal hamper with my bag of charcoal. Seems well made. No Problems. I recommend it.

Best Deals for Weber Performer Grill Cover

Even though the product description says that it fits 2005 and newer grills, I can verify that it fits my 1999-era Weber 761001 22 1/2-Inch One-Touch Platinum Charcoal Grill, Black just fine. After 14 years, the original Weber cover that I bought was stiff and cracked and falling apart from exposure to the sun, rain, and snow of Wisconsin, so it was high time to replace it.

After so many years, I had forgotten just how flexible the fabric on the cover was. It's much easier to get the cover on an off when it hasn't shrunk and gotten stiff from age! It does have a tendency to balloon in a wind, so putting a piece of firewood on the top will keep the cover from blowing off and landing somewhere downwind.

There are two things I would change about this cover:

1) a vent of some kind at the top, so that the wind would flow throw instead of ballooning it, or alternately, some clips or velcro straps to secure it to the grill legs. I might add some grommets and velcro straps to do just that.

2) a change in the sewing pattern or something that would keep the part that covers the table from becoming a puddling spot for water. I would guess this ages the vinyl prematurely, plus it collect dirt and debris which makes it get dirty easier, and if left for an extended period of time, the puddle of water could attract mosquitos. I think I can get around this by putting something on the table before covering it so that the cover tents over it and makes the rain runoff instead of puddling.

Overall, I think it was worth the extra money to buy a Weber-branded cover. It's made well and it fits the grill perfectly. The guy at Ace Hardware mentioned that the Weber-branded covers are made better, which is why mine lasted as long as it did. If you get several more years of use from a higher-cost cover, the difference in cost is worth it in my opinion.

Honest reviews on Weber Performer Grill Cover

This cover fits great on our '07 grill, no complaints there. However in the short time we have had it, it has blown away twice. Thankfully we found it both times, but we are definitely planning on putting some ties on it so that we can keep it on the grill. I know these crazy Kansas winds don't help, but I guess I'm disappointed that Weber didn't think of that themselves.

If you have the new style Weber this cover fits like a glove.

Since this item has a table that is flat, I put a piece of foam

on the table so rain runs off the cover.

The cover won't stay sloped like the picture, rain will flatten the cover.

It does not leak, but I'm sure after a year or two you may have to put

water repellent on like thy use on tents, if that matters to you.

A year later, 6/3/2012, it steal works like new, no leaks. It's been out all this time.

Best Pizzacraft PC0213 Rocking Pizza Cutter with Stainless Steel Blade Deals

Pizzacraft PC0213 Rocking Pizza Cutter with Stainless Steel Blade and TPR Handle
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

This is a very solid cutter with plenty of heft and rigidity. The steel nearest the handle is fairly thick and tapers down slightly toward the cutting edge. This makes for a substantial blade and there is little or no flex when pressing down to make cuts. The handle is firmly attached and has some cushioning resulting in a very comfortable grip. The length will require several cuts along each axis for larger pizzas but this can be done quickly and cleanly. It arrived with a cutting edge about as sharp as that found on a pair of child's scissors and I chose to sharpen mine on a bench stone which has improved its performance. Overall, I like this cutter a lot and expect to get many years of trouble free service out of it.

I recently decided to buy a propane smoker, and comparison-shopped the various models that were readily available and less than $200. I looked at Lowe's, Home Depot, WalMart, Sears, and Char Broil (the company is here in Columbus, Georgia.) After seeing each in person, and reading a lot of online reviews, I bought the MasterBuilt Pro smoker at Home Depot for $179.

I opted against "bullet" style smokers because only one rack is accessible without a lot of trouble. The Weber Smokey Mountains are supposed to be great, but they start at about $300. The Brinkmann Smoke 'N Grill I had for a while was such a piece of crap that I finally gave up trying to "fix" it, and sold it for $15 at a yard sale (and still was cheating the guy at that price.) Horizontal cookers hold a lot of meat, but it's notoriously difficult to control an even temperature in one unless you fabricate a reversing plate; they also take up a lot of space when not being used.

So I started investigating vertical cabinet-style smokers. The Char-Broil CB600X was tempting because I could buy one from the distributor here, already assembled, for only $100 (a savings of about $70.) However, it just seemed so cheaply made that I didn't want to deal with its many reported problems: leaking, bad thermometers, peeling paint, and a combination chip and water dish that everyone seems to hate. Also, every Char-Broil grill I've ever owned has rusted out in only two seasons.

I rejected WalMart's Great Outdoors smoker because it has only one door; tending the chips or water means you'll probably spend 30 minutes or more before the cooking area gets back up to temperature. Their Brinkmann Split-Door Smoker solves that problem, plus it costs a mere $74; many people online like the results they get with a Brinkmann after EXTENSIVE modifications, but I was looking for a smoker, not a hobby (plus it was out of stock.)

That left Lowe's "Master Forge" and the Home Depot "MasterBuilt Pro" (which was also at Sears for a similar price.)

The two are very similar in both appearance and features. Both smokers have a good amount of room for cooking on four 14x14-inch pull-out racks, room enough for several butts or racks of ribs, with all the meat easily accessible at the same time. They each have separate doors for tending the chip pan and water pan, so that you don't have to open the cooking chamber and let the heat and smoke out, and pushbutton electronic igniters for the propane. I don't expect to use anything but propane, but both the MasterBuilt Pro and the Master Forge smokers can also be used with charcoal. (Although some folks swear by charcoal, if you're doing things right, the only thing the charcoal provides is the heat; the flavor should come from the wood chips you use. Still it's nice to have the option. Electric can work well, but isn't convenient for tailgating, and just seems wrong somehow.)

The Lowe's Master Forge was a little less expensive at $169 (as of summer 2012, the very similar $149 propane-only #DGY784CP, although still shown on the Lowe's website, has been discontinued.) It has a shelf that folds down on the left side, but I'm not sure how handy that shelf would end up being, because it's blocked when the door is open. It also has a top-mounted smoke stack with a variable control, as compared to the simple sliding vent on the back of the MasterBuilt Pro; this might prove an advantage in windy or rainy conditions. Then again, without a smoke stack, the entire top of the MasterBuilt is available to set things on, as long as they can stand the heat.

However, unlike the Lowe's smoker, the MasterBuilt has insulated doors, which seem to make it hold the temperature a bit better than what I've read about the Master Forge. On mine, the temperature stays within about 10 degrees of the 220 I set it at unless I forget and let the water pan dry out (higher temps are definitely possible; I got it to about 450 while seasoning it.) The door latches are smaller and pull the door in a little tighter on the Masterbuilt, and are less likely to get bumped as you walk by, unlike the protruding handles on the Master Forge. Finally, the MasterBuilt has wheels on the two back legs, which would come in handy if you need to move it before it's cooled off. Neither smoker is really heavy (50 pounds, maybe) and the Master Forge has insulated handles, but I wouldn't want to try carrying it around while it's still hot.

Many smokers in this price range leak so badly that you have to install some type of gasket around the doors to prevent loss of heat and smoke. I had planned to go ahead and buy an oven gasket when I bought the smoker, but I forgot to do so. As it turns out, it leaks so little that a gasket won't be necessary. I also won't have to replace the stock thermometer, which (at least on mine) turned out to be only about 10 degrees off, much better than many I've read about. (I calibrated it by testing it in some boiling water before I installed it in the door. That 10-degree fault may not be consistent for every temperature, but 212 degrees is close enough to the temperature I'll use for smoking that this thermometer will do just fine.)

Assembly of the MasterBuilt was very straightforward, with clear and concise English instructions (Spanish was in a separate manual) and neatly packaged parts and hardware. It took me about an hour to put it together, and it probably would have been less had I not been watching TV at the same time. I left off an arm that bolts onto the left side to stabilize your propane bottle; it seemed unnecessary to me, and the arm would certainly get in the way when I store the cooker in the garage.

Overall, after using it several times, I am very pleased with my MasterBuilt Pro. It cost about $10 more than the Lowe's "Master Forge," but I didn't have to spend $20-$30 on a gasket and new thermometer as I had expected (plus Home Depot even honored the 10% off coupon I had for Lowe's!) Furthermore, I haven't had to make any tedious other modifications to get it to work. It holds the temperature quite well while using fuel sparingly, about 24 hours on a tank. On longer cooks, I'll probably replace the stock water pan (which is a little too small) with a $1 aluminum pan just for the extra volume. But the only other change I plan is to add a beer opener to the side, and with that in place I expect to get many years of enjoyment out of this smoker.

********

UPDATE:

A couple of times this spring I decided to try firing the unit with charcoal rather than propane (despite my earlier comment about flavor coming from the wood chunks and charcoal providing only heat, there really DOES seem to be a little "something" missing in the propane-fired meat's flavor.) Lighting it was really easy: I just piled the pan full of lump charcoal and hickory chunks, and lit the propane underneath for a few minutes. I used more charcoal than I expected (almost a whole bag over eight hours) but that may have been because of the small size of many of the pieces in what I was using. I also had to replace the water more often, but I guess that's to be expected since the heat is a couple inches closer. I does seem to be a little harder to keep the temperature at 250 using only charcoal; it wanted to hover around 200-220 degrees, and was very slow to recover after any time I opened the door. Kicking the propane back on for a few minutes seemed to help though, and in the future I may try running the propane continuously at a very low setting in addition to the charcoal. Overall, my results were still good though, and using the smoker with charcoal involved only a little more attention than propane only.

I bought this last week after having continues frustrations with my barrel smoker. This seemed to be able to help with e biggest problem I was encountering with e barrel smoker, regulating and maintaining a low heat. I like to go low and slow!! This is a great smoker, takes about 30 minutes to build with very easy to follow directions. Connect the propane bottle and place some chips in the dish. I turned onto a medium heat to get it going and then down to a low heat to maintain. I managed to keep it around 180 degrees. I poured apple juice in the liquid tray. I smoked a chicken and a rack of ribs. Both turned out better than I have EVER smoked before. A few things you have to keep your eyes on. You have to maintain your wood chips for smoking every 30 minutes or so, and keep your liquid tray full as I let it boil dry and now have encrusted crystallized apple juice on the bottom. It is a seriously good smoker I reccomend it. Ohhh before I forget, I've seen some comments on smokers saying that they got a metallic taste on their food, YOU HAVE TO read the instructions and CURE your machine with olive oil. It burns off e new paint smell and you get no aftertaste, it's easy to do and only takes an hour.

Best Deals for Masterbuilt 20051311 GS30D 2-Door Propane Smoker

I can't address the 1 star review but I can address my experience with this smoker. This is my first true smoker but I have owned Kamodo barbeque smokers/grills. This smoker has performed very, very well and lived up to my expectations. First of all, we're talking about a $200 smoker built for residential use. In that forum, I've been very impressed and everything we've smoked came out great. I did have one issue with the temperature gauge not reading over 300 degrees. I wrote an email to customer service and it was replaced without question and came within 5 days of my original email.

Things to remember, do break-in the smoker per the instructions which will make it easier to clean the grills later on. The four grills are easy to move for larger cuts of meat and clean easily. The wood chip tray is easy to use and clean provided you don't go overboard with the number of chips you use...remember it's designed for 2 cups & make sure you soak the chips prior to use. I typically soak them overnight which seems to make them last longer. While the water tray is somewhat small, having the lower door access makes it easy to add water. If you forget and let the tray run dry, be careful not to cause a flare-up fire by adding water to the hot tray!

The gas valve to control temperature is very sensitive and requires some adjustment to set the correct temperature. Once you get the feel of it, it's not a problem.

I never open the upper smoke vent as keeping it closed keeps the smoke in! Don't forget to add chips during the initial 2 hours to get the best smoke flavor. I was very happy with the propane use as the smoker does not use a whole bottle each time you smoke. My first bottle lasted through 6, six hour smokes and I can live with that rate of use.

I would recommend this smoker to anyone who wishes to have a great smoker that doesn't take up much space, works great, and isn't overpriced!

Great smoking!

Jim

Honest reviews on Masterbuilt 20051311 GS30D 2-Door Propane Smoker

this is my first gas smoker purchase and I read many reviews on different brands and models. Decided I did want a 2 door smoker over a one door. I ended up purchasing the masterbuilt 2 door smoker. recieved it quick thru Amazon, assembly was great, very quick with 0 problems. seasoned the smoker with oil. no problem. seems like a very tight unit. insulated doors. little smoke leak from door edges but very minimal. This unit had 0 hooks on the ceiling for hanging sausages and I fixed that by fuying 9 stainless steel hooks threaded on one end with a nut. drilled very tight holes in the top of smoker and spaced these 9 hooks out so that a 3 inch sausage can be hung without touching each other. solved that. Will add a 8 or 10 inch cast iron skillet for the wood chips cause the furnished one makes it very easy for the chips to catch fire. No trouble in getting the heat up to over 400 degrees for seasoning like some reviews mentioned. I will want to be able to have a low temp of 100 degrees for drying out sauasages before smoking. Don't think this will be a problem cause can always crack a door to help lower temps. Without a doubt I believe I made the best purchase for what I will use it for. smoking summer sausage (venison). very very happy with this purchase

Speedy Delivery...I spent several months looking into smokers before I purchased this one, and I was extremely nervous because I had a big graduation party on Saturday and I didn't make up my mind on this one until Wednesday. I ordered from Amazon. Because I am a Prime member, I had free two day shipping, but I couldn't wait and was afraid that I wouldn't have enough time to cure it, so I elected to pay the $3.50 for one day shipping.

Easy Setup...Two men delivered my smoker Thursday evening, and I stayed up late putting it together. The instructions were straight forward and easy to follow...if you have common sense and follow instructions (I added about 20 minutes to the process by tightening things when the directions explicitly said not too).

Great Piece of Equipment...This smoker feels nice and heavy and all of the pieces seem to be made for repeated use. I got it cured in a couple of hours and was ready to smoke with nothing than forums and a prayer. I noticed that many commented on using a cast iron skillet rather than the chip tray...don't bother. The wood tray provided allows for air to get to the wood; whereas, the cast iron would not get hot enough. With that being said, I did not see the need to make any modifications. I bought a fancy thermometer, but the one that came with the smoker was only off by like 10 degrees. All in all, I have no complaints with the smoker.

Great Products...On the inaugural run, I smoked 4 racks of ribs and 25 chicken breasts (not at the same time...two different smokes, but back to back). The ribs were marinated for a few days and so was the chicken. Both were smoked with wood chips (hickory and mesquite) and charcoal (started in a bag then added to pan). Ribs were cooked with the 3-2-1 method at about 230 degrees. Chicken was cooked with the Hail Mary method...I made it up as I went. Controlling the temperature was easy after I realized that adding cold food to a roaring smoker makes it get really cold and it takes awhile for it to get back up to temperature (common sense...right). Either way, everything had a great smoke taste to it and not to brag, but it was the best ribs I have had in Lynchburg, VA. The chicken was a little dry for my tastes but still more tender than most that I have got at bbq restaurants. I am sure that my Hail Mary approach is to blame.

I learned a lot from this first smoke and internet forums, but all credit for such a wonderful meal, which was applauded by all, goes not to the cook but this wonderful Masterbuilt 2-Door Propane Smoker.

Kabob rack. Ever try to rack Kabobs? If you have then you will appreciate how well this works. Does what it supposed to do and is well made. I feel this is a good value especially since you can also use this for those pesky ribs that won't stay put.

I like this system for barbecue Kabobs. It is easy to use, and has all the "tools" necessary to set a nice Kabob up for grilling. I find on my Stock kettle 'cue that cooking with this system increases the amount of grilling time to get my meat done but frankly I also find that a longer slower grill time makes a much better kabob. I use it for Shrimp Kabobs and Baby Back ribs. Love it for what i use it for. Cant see fitting beef ribs on it. St. Louis ribs and Baby Back ribs fit well.

Honest reviews on Stok SIS3000 Grill Kabob/Rib Rack

I missed the part about having the extra kabob parts. That just makes these that much better. We love them

These are more trouble than they are worth. Unless you perfectly balance your skewers with the meat/vege's, you will find they

just rotate wherever they please. You can't cook them around 360 degrees. The skewes handles get very hot as well, they are not long enough or insultated not to get as hot as your food. I should have expected this looking at the picture, but I thought this grill had some clever accessories Not this one.

Review of CharcoalStore Hickory Smoking Wood Chunks - Bark (20 Pounds)

CharcoalStore Hickory Smoking Wood Chunks - Bark

Big box of wood chunks. Seems simple, right? The thing is, when you buy wood chunks what you normally get from, say, Weber, is a bunch of chunks of wood of varying size. Opening this box I was surprised to note that these chunks were almost uniform in size & shape, ultimately making it much easier to control the amount of smoke.

I bought the Bull Rack and the Charcoal Companion Rack because I was unsure of the exact sizes due to comments by others. I have a BBQ slow cooker with vertical sides, so I had very little extra room, and the comments left doubt as to which would fit.

The Bull and Charcoal Companion are nearly identical except that the Bull is over $24 and the Charcoal Companion is about $18. I have no idea why they have such different prices. They're both imported and stainless steel so I recommend the Charcoal Companion and save yourself some dough.

I was pleased to get this product and was eager to put it to use.

Several QC problems were apparent right off the bat, but they didn't affect the overall function of the rack.

First, sharp burrs were left on the 'cut' ends of each semicircular rack piece just above the weld.

I used my metal file to "round" them off, removing the danger of someone cutting their hand while using the rack.

This really should be done at the factory before these pieces are welded.

Secondly, one of the semicircular pieces was welded a good 1/4" higher (or lower depending on how the rack is used) than all the others.

Don't they have a "jig", in the Chinese factory where these are made, to hold the pieces in the proper position when they're welding them together ?

Now for the good news it works very well.

To roast a chicken, I sprayed the rack with vegetable oil and put in the "bottom" of the porcelain broiler pan (it fit perfectly) that came with my stove.

Then I loaded the pan with potatoes, dropped the chicken in the rack (breast side down) and roasted it for 30 minutes.

Nice thing was, when it came time to "flip the bird", the skin didn't stick to the rack and it went onto its back very smoothly.

Once done, cleanup was a breeze with a quick soak in soapy water, a once-over with a "safe" scouring pad and a rinse.

Looking forward to using this for Q'ing some ribs and a larger bird on my smoker in the near future.

Just what I wanted. Having a rack is the easiest way to grill pork ribs without burning them. This rack is S/S. My old rack was not. Clean up is much easier with this on.

Honest reviews on Charcoal Companion CC3096 14-Inch Stainless Steel Reversible

If you roast whole chickens, small turkeys or breasts or flip it for slabs of ribs..........you need this. I suggest getting a big Rubbermaid tub to let the residue soak off.........or........just let it season. The handles also come in handy. Can also can be used in your oven

This is a very useful item for ribs and whole pieces of meat on the grill. It is dual use, just turn it over to the desired side. I also like to use it for leg thigh combos and pieces of meat that won't fall through the slots. I use it, and then I put it in the dishwasher. You can't beat it for ease of use. I LOVE IT!!!

I also like to put it on the grill and lay my shish kabobs on it. I spray the rack with oil or rub it with an oiled towel and clean up is a breeze.

Had ordered this replacement battery ignitor for a 4 year old BBQ. A little worried that it would not fit but pleased to discover it is PERFECT. Shipping was quick and the item was exactly as described. Thank you. Happily BBQing ALL year long.

I want to support companies who make products and employ workers here in the USA when I can. After a considerable amount of searching and comparison shopping, I was glad to find that Music City Metals had all the parts I needed and the parts were made in the USA! Even though the cost totaled about 2x the other vendors selling foriegn made parts, remembering the pain of being unemployed for 2 years, I felt it was worth the added expense to promote USA jobs. I was sorely disappointed when I received my order and found ALL of the products were either made in Taiwan or China. I'm angry at being defrauded to spend additional money for the same parts. I'm further angered for having to send the items back and wait for a refund so that I can reorder the same parts from a reputable company. The cost savings won't offset the hassle and delay. I needed these parts in a reasonable time frame which certainly has not happened. The misrepresentation coupled with the inconviennce and waiting has encouraged me to file a complaint with the FTC and my local Attorney General. I thought about just keeping the parts and taking my lumps, but in the long run if consumers don't fight back will we lose something even more valuable?

I replaced the original one, which had always been a pain. Fits well the smaller Costco model, works well, no issues after 2 months of use.

Replacement for my Surefire grill.

I didn't check it closely enough. This is a 4 ignitor generator. My grill is a 5 burner. Oh well, I'll use a match for the odd burner out.

So far seems to work reliably. Sparks every time I push the button.

Installation was easy, direct replacement for the OEM, same design. Wires attached to prongs securely.

Got this machine about 4 months ago and it worked great but now the rollers will not work and it looks like this is common problem with this machine from reading the other reviews. So the machine works great WHILE it works but it is definitely not made to last. I didn't see any warranty information on the page for this machine but when I contacted the seller he said the warranty was only for 30 days so beware.

We purchased this machine about 6 months ago and have used it several times since then. We used it for about 60 people during a Ky. Derby party we had. It worked great and all of our friends loved it and how you could change the temp. to keep the hot dogs, brats, and links from getting to dried out if you fixed to many. Lets just say that wasnt a problem because the were plump and juicy so they didnt last long. My wife and i would purchase equipment from this company again. Not sure this is the same for everyone but we got ours a few days ahead of when it was supposed to get here. A nice surprise. Like opening a Christmas present!

I love this stuff! I've tried just about every brand that is available where I live and this one is by far the best. No fillers or additives, and it cooks almost like lump charcoal without the fast burn time and unburned lumps left in the cooker.

Imagine my disappointment to discover that it sells for $17.99 on Amazon and $8.99 at Lowes.

When I first viewed this product, there was only one review and that reviewer did not like these briquettes because of their "smokyness". My first thought was, guess I better NOT order these. But after re-reading the description where it spoke of a real wood fire taste, I remembered that real wood does smoke. Another look at the reviewers comment did not tell what they were cooking. But I am sure they were dealing with meat and meat has fat. I decided to try both the Stubbs and also a bag of Duraflame hardwood briquettes. Three days ago, when my Duraflames were delivered, I tried them. They imparted a very nice flavor to my T bone steak, hamburger and even Italian Sausage. Well, today the Stubbs arrived and I promptly cooked up my tasty trio. An OVERWHELMING success!!! Not only was the taste like using natural wood, but these briquettes lasted twice as long as my Duraflames did. As far as smoking, yes there was some smoking, but so did my Duraflames. I don't think the Stubbs brand smokes any more than did the Duraflames. The Stubbs brand also states that they use a natural binder to hold the briquettes together. I think that's why these impart more of the flavor of a real wood fire. The Duraflames did have a different undertone/flavor that seemed to taste like a fire that didn't burn off all the lighter fluid. Not to say that the Duraflames were offensive, but when I tasted the foold cooked with the Stubbs, I then realized there is something different about this charcoal. It was like the flavor of natural wood when it begins to "char" over as you cook on it.

BOTTOM LINE... The only smoke I encountered was from burning fat from my meat. But I highly recommend this product for it's NATURAL WOOD FIRE FLAVOR with that marvelous "char" flavor and absolutely no petrolium undertone whatsoever.

Stubbs briquettes are the best, I have been using them for 5 years, used to be able to get them at Lowes. When they discontinued I bought on line, very happy. Thanks

Honest reviews on Stubb's 46015 Natural Charcoal Briquettes, 15-Pound

I've been using these briquettes for a few years now and love them. While they do put off a lot of smoke when started, they quickly settle down with little smoke once burning. They burn evenly and for quite a while.

My local Lowe's stopped carrying them and I started trying lump charcoal and other briquette brands. The lump is fine but most doesn't burn as nicely as as this and other brands had additives/chemicals which I can't stand.

Great briquettes and worth the hassle of having them shipped to you.

I write this as I use another briquette for my current brisket smoke, (Embers). STUBBS ARE THE BEST!!!!! While they take a little longer to light up, stubbs don't have that asphalt taste of Kingsford or the sulfury smell these Embers briquettes have. Really wish I could have made it to Lowes and pick some up this time. next time I get there I may just buy out the whole store. While I am sure there are better briquettes out their, I doubt there are any in this price range that can compare.

Purchased this item for my new outdoor kitchen, and been enjoying it since it arrived. It was easy to assemble, and ignites with ease. I looked at a lot of cook tops before getting this one, and I'm very pleased with my decision.

Best Deals for Camp Chef Home Somerset 2-Burner Cart Stove

I bought the Sommerset II as alternate stove for outdoor patio cooking. My indoor stove is temporarily (1 month?) without gas due to a faulty line. This looked like the perfect solution and great for frying fish and other smelly stuff outdoors. It was easy to set up, great ignition and very handy side shelves. Looks super! I really loved this product until the wind blew over 5mph. The flame was everywhere except under the pot. Unless you feel daring and care to blowtorch your supper on the high setting to keep the flame steady, you may be underwhelmed with its performance in a slight breeze. This of course would be no problem with the addition of a nifty windscreen which Camp Chef sells. But wait! This is the only model for which they don't sell a windscreen. I was nonplussed with Camp Chef's help line suggestions. Having a custom made sheet metal screen created was one, and, cooking in my garage was the other. Oh, or I could sell it and buy the three burner model. Soooo, unless you plan to sink the Sommerset II into a counter, which is what they told me this model was really made for, go for any other camp chef that comes with a windscreen. I'll be in the barn constructing a solution if Camp Chef needs to reach me.
