The gloves did insulate from heat as advertised. I love the fact that I can pick up large items like turkeys and pork shoulders without burning my hands. On the down side, the gloves are hard to get on and off. This is especially a problem when you get grease on them as the surface of the glove gets very slick so you will need to wash them off first or get some assistance.

Glove won't fit properly because it is too generic.

Made for either hand. Could be made for right or

left hand. Difficult to remove from hands.

I'm so glad I got this product. Sure it was as hard to get in to as an already wet wetsuit whilst being beaten like a pinata at a frat party, but once you were in there, dear god. I took the ring to mordor and just put my hand in to get rid of that thing, no epic throw camera shot needed. Definitely would recommend.

Honest reviews on Grill Glove GG100 Silicone Grilling Glove

"As Seen On TV" on the packaging should have been an effective early warning system, but it was not. My husband reported that his hand got uncomfortably warm (yes, HOT) inside this glove while turning skewers on the grill. This silicone glove just doesn't work as described -not at all! Will return for a refund.

The design seems great. It's got ridges for a non-slip grip. However, it's sized approximately as men's medium, which means that somebody with a large or extra-large hand (such as myself) will find it hard to get on & off, and stiff to use. It's a pity, because otherwise it seems to be a great product.

This cover is really CHEAP ! I doubt it could be made of thinner vinyl. I purchased it to replace an existing cover I have been using for years. This past winter I forgot to fasten the safety loops on the cover. It blew off and was then damaged by the ice. That is why I am replacing it. I expect to replace this new one before winter. You can bet I will not replace it with this cover.

This is the worst grill cover yet. It is about the same thickness as a garbage bag and is much smaller than it appears in this picture. It does not go down this far on the grill and I expect it to last for about a week before tearing at the corners. Would not purchase again.

Quick ship great service but cover is very thin got a hole in it within a week if the cover was a little thicker would definitely give 5 stars

Honest reviews on NFL Cincinnati Bengals 68-Inch Grill Cover

I purchased this as a gift for my husband and this has to be the cheapest grill cover out there. It was only on the grill a month if that before it ripped and was no longer useable. Spend the money for a better cover so you only have to purchase a cover once!

This item was exactly as advertised and fit my grill perfectly. The velcro straps on the sides will help keep it from blowing off and (hopefully) deter critters from hiding out under the cover during the cold months.

Portable Propane Gas Stove 2 Double Burner Range BBQ and New Review

Portable Propane Gas Stove 2 Double Burner Range BBQ and New Regulator Hose
Customer Ratings: 3 stars

Alpha is Chinese made household gas burner. In China, people used this burner for mainly everyday cooking. It does not comply with US standard. Specially, the gas hose and its connector does NOT fit our standard US gas regulator and LP tank. No way you can use it with your LP tank unless you break your own safety. Don't be fooled and mislead by the pictures. The gas hose included with the burner is USELESS. HABOR FREIGHT store and online is selling gas burners for about $40 meet our standard and regulator.

No problems with the seller. Product was shipped as promised. The stove is an unknown brand. I am uploading the actual image. I couldn't use the hose provided to connect to my propane tank that I use for my gas grill. I ended up using another set of connections. The stove is very delicate. It easily get bent. The whole built was poor. May be better off buying some other stove.

The product came out of the box broken with missing parts. This was unfortunate. However, the seller responded promptly to the problems without any assle.

Honest reviews on Portable Propane Gas Stove 2 Double Burner Range BBQ and New

The stove works pretty good. The starter often has to be clicked several times to get the flame going. It has a good strong flame but weak frame. The packing wasn't good enough to avoid it being dented in one rear corner, which I more or less pounded-out. If the stainless steel siding were any thinner you'd have to call it a "foil", as in tin foil, or in this case stainless steel foil. It heats up the counter-top so much that the made the formica bubble up off the wood base. But over-all, it works and didn't cost an arm & a leg. Looks pretty good too. Oh, I had to take out ALL of the screws and put in larger ones that could be tightened-down. All the little ones that came with the stove would strip-out if you tried to get any tightness at all on them.

The gas hose is not standard not safe. As soon as I started to turn it on, flame and fire was burning around the hose.

Broil King 987744 Sovereign 90 Liquid Propane Gas Grill with Side Burner and Rear Rotisserie

We bought this grill because of the good reviews and the price/features/quality. The grill is made in Canada and manufactured by the same company that owns Weber. We were tired of the Chinese made grills that burn through after a few years. Amazon had this on special with no tax and free shipping, great deal. However, when the grill arrived there was some shipping damage. The box weighs in at 150 LBS and is not palettized and shipped UPS. This is not good for such a large heavy box. The damage was minor and I just received the replacements from Broil King. Their CS was very good. The grill itself is nicely made with great control of the flame level via smoothe operating controls. The heat appears to be very even across the entire cooking surface. All the interior parts in the firebox are SS and the box itself is cast aluminum, nothing to rust out. The SS cooking grates are just awesome, very very heavy. I seasoned the grill per instructions by running it at MED/HIGH for 20 minutes. I went out outside after 15 minutes and the temp gauge was pinned at over 700 DEG. Wow this thing can put out some BTUS! You can easily singe your steaks if you want to. The rotisere along with the seperate rear burner are great. However it requires you light it with a match not the ignitor. The side burner is large enough for a fairly large pot. The instructions are all exploded views and no written instructions. Can be frustating if you are not handy. All the major components like the gas lines and ignitors are already assembled, so this fact makes it easier. All in all great grill for the money.

Very good quality grill for the money. Works great. In addition to grilling, I like using the side burner for frying with my 14 inch wok outside as I have only an electric stove inside. Good customer service too. I emailed them about a piece that was dented in shipping and they shipped the replacement piece without charge.

Heats to 500 degrees, stainless racks, the only con is packaging as when I received it there were some broken parts. I called the company and they sent replacements out immediately. Very satified with my new grill.

Honest reviews on Broil King 987744 Sovereign 90 Liquid Propane Gas Grill with Side

I was in need of a new grill as my old one had (after 9 yrs. of near constant use) finally had had it. I read the reviews on this on & saw that the general consensus was that (1) the grill is fantastic & (2) the shipping was the only negative note...and due to the nature of the damage could lead to some time to really get the unit up & running. Well it looks like Amazon has been reading these reviews & took action.

I took the plunge & ordered it (despite knowing that there might be damage in shipping.) Well Amazon switched to a contracted shipper on this one (in my case it was 'Pilot Freight lines'). The grill arrived in EXELLENT condition...and believe me after opening the rather large carton I took ea. piece out & inspected closely). Everything came through fine. It took me about 1 hr. or so to assemble & fired it up tonight. GREAT grill!!!

I bought the Broil King in he fall of 2010. I bought this grill to replace a 10 year old Weber Propane grill. I had done alot of research and was disapointed in the quality of the grills that were out there. Many had flimsy hoods and hinges. I did not want a Weber again because I thought they were overpriced and the heating element produced uneven heating areas. If we wanted to grill a steak we started up the old charcoal grill, cause it would get hot enough to sear a steak (our weber gas grill would cook it). With the Broil King we have replaced the gas grill & charcoal grill. This baby really gets hot. Sears a steak beautifully. The rotissere makes moist & juicy chicken. The lid of this grill is cast iron & very well constructed. Both my husband & I enjoy griling on the Broil King.

This is a great idea I received it as a gift and tried it for the first time today. I set the grill to medium heat but it still burned the bottom of the crust. But much worse, I discovered when washing the pan, after eating half of the pizza, that much of the non-stick coating had come off the pan and stuck to the bottom of the pizza. The underside of the pan was good as new, so there's no indication of it having been too hot. As much as I liked the idea and appreciated the gift, I won't use it again. One meal of non-stick coating is more than I can handle.

First use, we discovered the non stick coating comes off with great ease, and your food worst of all! This product is most likely adding carcinogenic material to your food. I had great hope for this, the Pizza that we made came out a bit more well done on the bottom, than intended even at a lower heat setting. The Pizza was still incredibly delicious, but then we realized what had happened. Buy another poduct, this was such a great disappointed with the poor workmanship.

This turned out to be just 'okay'. The ring to secure the two sides closed slips off, and my first batch of meatballs went flying in all directions as soon as I closed the cage. Next time around, I secured the securing ring with a better-securing medium size paper clamp, which was an effective MacGyver intervention. However, I feel this should have been addressed in the design up front. The metal cage is nicely non-stick (probably why the securing ring wouldn't stick on by itself!) and not difficult to clean. Each tiny cage holds a normal size meatball well. However, if the meatball is the least bit too big, it will surely ooze through the cage and fall apart. Additionally, I made meatballs for a large BBQ gathering, so it took several shifts of grilling. Rather than risk burned on the outside and raw on the inside, I boiled the meatballs first to ensure they were done through, and then grilled them lightly for the grill flavor. They were a big hit, tasted great, and everyone was impressed with the new cool kitchen tool. I'm looking forward to using it for scallops, mushrooms, brussels sprouts, and other round foods I like to grill. Overall, it's a fun gadget, and a great gift idea for a serious griller.

I have a 2001 Weber Genesis Silver B, and last year it started being reluctant to heat quickly and all the way to 600. Last week the grill never got hotter than about 400, so I knew something was wrong. I took the grill apart and looked at the flame, and it was fairly yellow. Also, the bar that connects the three main burners wasn't working to transfer the flame from one bar to another.

I bought this set from Amazon and installed it today. You have to take the grill apart, including taking the control panel off, the manifold off, disconnect the gas, take the flavor bars and grates out, etc. After I had everything uninstalled I elected to drag mine out in the yard and pressure wash it. After it dried I installed the new burners, new flavor bars, new grates, etc. I went all stainless this time. The flame coming out of the new burners is blue, and is very hot. I also put a new starter in, and the grill starts so nice and easy and the bar that connects the three burners transfered the flame from one burner to another. It reminded me of when I first bought it. The grill heated up to 500 in about 5 minutes...a night and day difference from before.

You might think I'm crazy for investing $160 in grill parts, after all some grills only cost $160 for the entire grill. I know that my Silver B is good for another 5 years at least, and I LOVE this grill. Who knows when they'll stop making parts for these grills?

Anyway, my advice to you is if you have a Weber gas grill that is more than 6 years old and you haven't replaced the burners yet, and you are experiencing any of the symptoms I described, don't hesitate to put in new burners. It's relatively easy, and it makes a huge difference.

I was very impressed how easy it was to install the new burners in my Weber Grill. I've had the grill for probably 10 years and decided to replace the burners, flavor bars and grates. All were reasonably priced on Amazon with fast shipping even using the free Super Saver Shipping. Getting the burners out would have been easier if I would have waited to get the new ones first before trying to figure out how to remove them myself. I made the removal much harder than it should have been and the instructions were great. With the replacement of the grates, flavor bars and burners it is like I have a new grill for about $100 total.

Best Deals for Weber 7508 Stainless Steel 3 Burner Tube Set

Great! Burners were easy to install Just follow the included directions. All you need is a Phillips Screwdriver. I also purchased a new push button ignitor at a later time. If you get the igniter with the burner set you will only have to remove the side control knob plate once.

Honest reviews on Weber 7508 Stainless Steel 3 Burner Tube Set

I will manage to get another season or three out of my Weber by installing this Burner Tube set installation was a little difficult, but once done the grill works great! Be aware that these burner tubes are bolted down in the grill the bolt is typically very corroded and likely impossible to remove. Grinding or cutting it off helps remove the old tubes, then just lay the new tubes on the support. Once the cross-tube is installed and the three burner tubes attached to the fuel supply, they are sturdy enough not to need the corner bolts.

Quickie install instructions:

think safety! Safety glasses, turn off gas, don't run with scissors!

remove grills, burner guards

remove bits and pieces of corroded tubes

Unbolt (or grind/cut off) corners (left front and rear)

pull tubes away from fuel valves, twist to get through opening (this can be a little difficult)

take a moment to brush out burned crud in bottom of grill

insert center tube, push firmly onto fuel supply tube (under knobs); orient with perforations up

insert cross tube, perforations toward center of grill (right)

insert front or rear tube, fit onto fuel tube then cross tube;perforations toward center push firmly onto fuel tube

put bolts back in place if removed, otherwise burner tubes should sit squarely on corners

replace guards/grills

fire that baby up!!

I bought this product a little over a year ago to replace the original burners for my Gensis Silver B. The problem is the fuel rail connecting the burners has already corroded to the point where it can no longer carry the flame to the 2nd and 3rd burners. Not sure what it's made of but it's not the same quality as burners themselves. I'll be contacting Weber to complain.

~ Over the past 33 years I've experimented with baking broth and fruit halves inside the turkey for moisture, coating it with rubs, a $100 self-basting roaster pan, baking it upside-down for the first hour, deep-frying it, and various brining recipes for 36 hours. Every method produced good and very moist results but brining infused a very unhealthy amount of salt/sodium into my meals and deep-frying was dangerous, expensive and infused tons of unhealthy grease, fat and cholesterol. And worst of all is that those methods usually burdened me with so many hassles, extra costs, time, work, distractions and monitoring that I almost always felt very disappointed afterwards because I was left with almost NO time to visit with anyone! But my 1st infusion-roasted turkey turned out THE VERY BEST EVER, with almost no prep work, AND BAKED IN 1/2 THE TIME... so I now serve unique and outstanding poultry, I enjoy quality time with my guests and the whole holiday is better for everyone.

~ So I'll just say ''Ditto'' to the other high reviews and I'll share some tips and flavor ideas that I adapted from many years of brining because they've been working EVEN BETTER as my infusion liquids. You'll never make 'boring' or bland chicken or turkey ever again if you're not afraid to try new things because infusion merely does a superb job of enhancing the natural meat flavors just like any other effective seasoning method does and your bird won't bake long enough for the infused flavors to become overpowering! First, you'll only need to make 1 C.up of infusion liquid, AND if you want an outdoor grilled flavor from an oven-baked bird just add a little bit of 'Liquid Smoke' to your infusion liquid (sold at most grocery stores) or just add in 1/8 C. of molasses into your liquid for a very similar affect (adapted from a BBQ pro) or a bit of Worcestershire sauce!! A simple, traditional infusion mix, (especially for stronger-flavored fowl like duck or pheasant) is to merely mix some onion bits, celery leaves, a bit of garlic and your favorite poultry seasoning and herbs into plain water or else chicken stock/bouillon is better for chicken or turkey. And adding 1/3 C. of honey to ANY of your infusion liquids is ALWAYS Outstanding like a good Mead compared to only beer, but mead is very expensive and very hard to get! I like mixing 1/2 C. apricot/pineapple preserves and my herbs and seasonings to 1/2 C. water, stock or bouillon for the liquid. Apple juice/cider (or plain apple cut into bits), white cranberry juice (or several cranberries), lemonade, orange juice or orange marmalade are all commonly used infusion liquids and they're all very good, but I especially like using the small can's of different exotic fruit nectars that are usually sold in the Mexican Foods section of almost all grocery stores (the Guava nectar was excellent but you may want to try them on a chicken first if you're unfamiliar with the flavor). I also liked using some of the herbal teas by Celestial Seasonings and I think that just plain Coconut milk will be awesome for my next turkey (I'll season inside the bird). The point is to NOT be afraid to open your mind to new things, have fun expiramenting and JUST GET CREATIVE; or check out the The Flavor Bible: The Essential Guide to Culinary Creativity, Based on the Wisdom of America's Most Imaginative Chefs from your library for more inspiration!!

~ AND a few more infusion-poultry roasting tips and other secrets and nuggets: Take the infusion rod to a hardware store to buy a cork (REAL cork, not rubber) to put in the end of it, otherwise a majority of the flavored steam will never get forced into the bird cavity for the very, very best results. Regardless of which brand infuser that you buy, take the time to watch the YouTube.com video instructions for prepping the turkey, inserting it onto the Sante infusion roaster and baking it; just search for ''How to Cook the Perfect Turkey''. AND TRUST ME HERE: YOU -N-E-E-D-T-Oput a cup or two of water or broth into the roasting pan or cookie sheet that you set the infuser onto, otherwise the drippings from the bird can start to burn and smoke up your house and even keep setting-off your fire alarms! Microwave your liquid for a minute right before pouring it into the infuser tube and putting it into the oven so it will turn to steam much faster. I FINALLY successfully cooked a duck using this infuser because it cooks from the inside too, BUT also cut a lot of slits through the insulating layer of fat on the bottom so it will melt away faster to let the oven heat get to the meat. Using Chicken Bouillon cubes is far cheaper than buying stock for your liquid and it's very small and long-lasting so it's easy to always keep on hand, AND although you can get low-sodium bouillon, using standard bouillon cubes in your liquid reduces your prep time because they're salty enough that you won't need to add ANY additional salt to your liquid OR rub salt anywhere else on the bird. Always pat the skin dry all over and thoroughly grease the skin with butter or olive oil to keep it from drying out too quickly, but only salt the inside of the bird if you didn't add salt or bouillon cubes into your liquid. Don't waste your time adding any seasonings or herbs on top the skin unless you really like seasoning-flavored skin because flavoring DOES NOT effectively penetrate through the skin into the meat. Also don't waste your time with the awkward hassle of trying to rub seasonings UNDER the skin; if you just add all of your seasonings into your liquid then the steam will do a much, much, much better job of cooking your flavors into the meat. I learned from Emeril to cook turkeys at 425 degrees for the first 1/2 hour then reduce the heat to 350-375 degrees because it not only reduces the cooking time but it jump-starts the skin to browning which helps to hold the moisture into the meat better. AND THE VERY BEST SECRET THAT I EVER FIGURED OUT is for getting the thick legs more thoroughly cooked at 'almost' the same time as the thinner body meat reaches 165 degrees, AND it works for EVERY roasting method and for EVERY bird: Before cooking the bird insert 2 or 3 potato nails (NEVER EVER use ANY regular nails unless you want food poisoning) or else insert your shish-kabob skewers well into the thick section of each leg (I put them lengthwise), and especially on the body side of the legs where the heat permeates last and takes longer to heat thoroughly; even though it looks unusual, the food-safe metal acts like a heat sink and transfers the heat directly into the thicker meat to help it cook faster and get it done before the thinner meat gets overly-done or starts to dry out. This trick obviously reduces your overall cooking time by at least 10% but it all depends on your roasting method; just avoid touching the metal with your meat thermometer. Always allow ALL cooked meat to just 'rest' for a while after cooking and before cutting into it to allow the juices to redistribute, and for turkeys I just set the turkey on the serving platter and COVER IT with my deep roasting pan (for cost-saving and environmental reasons compared to tin foil) for 1/2 hour while my side dishes bake. Last few things: Just use clean pot holders over your hands to pull the bird off this roaster but I always need a helper to hold the infuser down for me. As soon as the infuser is cool enough to handle safely I always rinse it out and fill it with hot soapy water to soak. And I'm determined to figure out a way to use this gadget for infusion-baking roasts and especially for my infamous honey & cherry hams, so I'll try to remember to update this review or add a comment when I succeed!

~ And to make this review even more helpful for everyone, if you've learned any successful ideas, recipe's or tips for infusion cooking, please take a moment to write them out and leave them in the comments below so that everyone can learn and enjoy your creativity.

I was a little skeptical of the design, but thought for $24.99 I would give it a try. Wow am I impressed. We did a 14 lb. turkey in about 2 hours on the grill. I usually won't eat the white meat, because it's so dry, but the white meat came out juicy and delicious. We poured a can of lemonade with dry herbs in the cannon, put the thawed turkey on the cannon, rubbed the turkey with some herbs and paprika on the outside and set it in our grill at a medium heat (about 350 degrees). When our meat thermometer read 170 degrees, it was done and perfect! Now the weather is turning cooler, we like to use our turkey cannon in the oven inside. It actually works better than a grill. We just put the turkey cannon on a cookie sheet and do the same recipe as above. This is the best turkey we've ever eaten and I'm a white meat lover again!

I ordered this two-day shipping right before a big family dinner. I received it just in time to toss a bird on it and put it in the oven. It was great! I was a little fearful that it wouldn't live up to the reviews, but it really did do a great job. It wasn't as fast as the manufacturer advertises, they claim 6-7 minutes a pound, and I found it to be closer to 10 minutes per pound. That's still much better than normal beer-can turkey, which can be about 20 minutes a pound. Many family members told me it was the best turkey they'd ever eaten (and these are not people who are shy about criticism.) I only wish there was a way to post photos on the review so I could show you how great my turkey looked.

Honest reviews on Camp Chef, Sante Series Turkey Cannon Infusion roaster

The one thing I always dreaded about having Thanksgiving dinner at my house every year was that I never knew how the turkey was going to turn out. I no longer have that problem, unless I buy an unusually large (over 20 lb) bird. I purchased my Turkey Cannon in November 2007 and it helped me make the absolute best, juiciest turkey I have ever made, in about 1/3 less time. My whole family raved about the moistness and flavor of the white meat. I was the obvious choice for Turkey Day 2008 and looked forward to a repeat performance. I made one small error . . . . I bought a huge 25lb turkey, and it wouldn't fit in the roaster or the oven while sitting up on 'the cannon'. The size limit is the only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5.

I love beer can chicken, and I love turkey. I have made the beer can turkey with the Foster's beer in a special holder, and was less than impressed. This one is much better. The prongs that hold the turkey in place are a wonderful addition to the cooking process, no sliding around the core. I have made 3 chickens on this thing, and two turkeys. I recently gave my old can holders to a friend, but when he was over for dinner the other night, he saw what I was using, he made his own purchase.

Last night, I did a duck, with some orange soda, and also made a orange sauce, to go on top...wonderful.

Don't even look at the other holders, this one is the best. Sturdy, and because of the way it comes apart, it fits into the dishwasher.

The heat plates were just as advertised and arrived in just 2 days. They fit my Brinkmann grill well enough to replace the old ones, but they stand about 3/4" taller than the old ones. This means they all but touch the grilling surface. Not much room for drippings to fall. Otherwise they work great. Can't beat them for the price!

I am very disappointed. The product features very clearly state: "Dishwasher Safe; model number: CC3010" The box for Model CC3010 very clearly states: "Do not wash in a dishwasher." It's cheap enough that I'll probably just keep it and see what happens. I'll update it and let you know if it survives the dishwasher, but right now I'm definitely peeved.

I ordered this because it was affordable, because it shipped through Amazon (so I got free 2 day shipping with Prime), and because its size is adjustable.

The "grilling grid" is great for veggies like asparagus or sliced zucchini, but it does have some issues, and I would not buy this again.

The paint at first seems high quality, but some of it has already chipped off for me and has begun to rust. That could be a dealbreaker for some, but I admit to not taking the BEST care of the tray. I washed it after every cookout, but usually not until the next day, and I did leave it on the grill overnight once.

Also, the hinge mechanism is not designed very well. It sticks and can be frustrating to expand or collapse it.

Lastly, the tray only has 3 sides, while the fourth edge has no lip. Since I mostly use this to put veggies on the top tray of the grill (which has a lip on the back), it's not too big of an issue. But if you are using this on the main grill, be warned that you'll have a side of this tray that veggies can easily fall off of when you're turning them.

A decent tray for what it is and for the price, but when I replace it (and I will be, after only one season of use) I'll be buying a higher quality piece.

EcoZoom Stove - Wood, Biomass, or Charcoal Review

EcoZoom Versa Rocket Stove - Wood, Biomass, or Charcoal Fuel

I received my stove a week ago after watching the videos and doing my homework. I was looking for a stove to replace my propane stove that I have used for 15 years camping and fishing throughout the West. I was a little skeptical about the video showing how little wood it will take but then the world is messy and as long as it worked I would be OK with it. I am easy to please but hard to impress. This stove didn't just impress me, it Wowed me. I found my round bottom wok fit perfect on top of the stove so I took one 8 inch square piece of fir and chopped it to the suggested 1/2 inch size so that I had what looked more like kindling than firewood and fired up the stove. In less than a minute the smoke went away and I started a simple pork stir fry in my wok. I expected the stove to over heat the wok but I was surprised that the temperature with the suggested size of wood was perfect. I do the meat first then the veggies so that I don't over cook the veggies but I also had some hard stuff like broccoli that takes time to cook. I cooked over the stove for 30 minutes or so and it was dark when dinner was done. It came out perfect. I still had more than half of my 8 inch square pile of fir left and since the outside of the stove was still cool enough to touch I lifted it and set the stove on our table between us and we had a miniature fireplace that we used to light up dinner. It was quite romantic.

I expected that the stove would be OK, I didn't expect that I would love it. I have not tried green wood in it but there was no smoke with the seasoned wood. I mean NONE. The heat was about like 2/3 of high on my gas stove at home so there is less worry about burning. I mean my propane stove has two settings, off and high. On high it is easy to burn stuff so I have to watch it like a hawk. With my Zoom Dura I went and did some camp chores on the second night I cooked with it. I kept an eye on it but I didn't mother hen it. I got the Zoom Dura, the model without doors, as I belong to the school that says the less moving parts the less there is for me to break. Without the door of the bigger model controlling the temperature was easier than I expected and one 8 inch square of firewood a foot long could cook two meals.

The stove fits perfect in a 5 gallon plastic bucket, although I am looking for a steel one now, and I have a lid for the bucket that is a seat. With my small folding table I have the perfect cooking station where I can set on my rear and cook at eye level. And it all packs up and stays clean in my rig. I am slightly worried that some camp grounds may make me not use it during fire season. In my youth I fought forest fires, I learned to pay particular attention to the sparks and potential problems I might expect in the woods. Only in a heavy wind would there be a problem. The firebox does a real good job of combustion and in the morning there was hardly any ash left. That is expected as it burned hardly any wood.

I love it when a product is even better than I expected. Just in case you were wondering I have no affiliation with the company, they don't know me from Adam.

JUNE 30TH SIX WEEKS LATER:

OK, I have just returned from a month on the Columbia and Snake rivers camping and fishing and have become intimate with my stove. I love it even more now that I have 30 or more meals under my belt. I have found that if I double the amount of wood I can get my wok really hot. The river bank supplies all the 1/2 inch sticks sun dried that I can use. Fire season is underway so no wood fires. In this zero tolerance society, we live by rules and no longer use common sense, even though the river was getting record rain the fire season that started June 9th prevented wood fires. So I got a bag of charcoal that I set next to the stove as charcoal is permitted but continued to burn wood. I used the charcoal bag as a red herring and so far I have not been caught. I have some pretty nifty camping gear but this is my favorite purchase in the last few years. I love it even more now than I did when I did the review above. Smokey the Bear will have to pry it from my dead fingers. I give it 6 stars.

OCTOBER 14 SIX MONTH LATER

Well I am back from fishing for half a year, and all this time this was my main stove. I have cooked on it hundreds of times now and it fits my needs like a glove to a hand. The Charcoal ruse worked everywhere and I never once burned a single briquet in it. The only problem that comes up is the carbon that it puts on the bottom of pots. If you are not careful you can get it everywhere. Here is how to solve the problem kind of. take a small squeeze bottle of liquid soap and put a few drops on the bottom of your pot before you cook. After dinner when you go to clean up everything will wash right off. I then keep my pots in a large plastic bag just on the off chance I missed some spots. Carbon won't be a problem. I generally wouldn't go to this much effort to review something 3 times but I love my stove so much I just had to come back and give you all the carbon/soap tip. Good Luck.

As a Scout leader I've found this stove useful since nearly anywhere we camp there's plenty of fuel to feed it. With this stove there's no reason to pack fuel. We use a large Dutch oven on top and cook our meals in that. It also works well with large cast iron fry pans, which distribute the heat nicely. You can also get a steel wok that fits nicely in the center for stir fry. Keep the kids not working on the meal busy by having them gather the fuel ;-)

This model is the best one of the series, it has the 6 pot supports and both a fuel door and a lower door for controlling the burn rate. This is a stove you have to tend to. The fuel chamber is pretty small (which helps it burn so clean), but this means that in a matter of 15 minutes it'll burn out if you don't tend to it and constantly feed it sticks. You don't have to put many in for it to be hot, but you do have to lay them out on the feed rack and keep them feeding into it. Don't think you can fire it up, walk away for an hour like you can with charcoal and come back to a cooked meal. This is not that type of stove. You can use it with charcoal and coal and then it'll burn for much longer.

I like knowing I have this stove in my garage since in any kind of emergency I can get a very hot fire going and there will be fuel. For the Zombie Prep group, it's also a covert way to cook, because the flame is contained (not visible) and there's essentially no smoke it burns so cleanly. In nearly every emergency, there's wood of some type around that would be freely available to fuel this stove.

An easy way to light this stove is to place a small chunk of fire starter (sawdust packed with wax) in the burn chamber on your first few sticks and light that. In a few minutes it'll be hot and burning well. Kindling works well too, and once the burn chamber is hot it'll keep everything going nicely. Open the bottom door all the way to increase the air flow at lighting time, close it partially to control the burn rate once you have your fire going. You can also change between the 2 included grates depending on the size of your fuel and how your wood burns. One grate has wider openings than the other and smaller pieces tend to fall through if you use the larger grate.

This stove design is called Rocket Stove due to the swirling action in the burn chamber. The creator has opened up his patented design to help enable impoverished countries get these at less cost and improve their cooking conditions.

*** Nov 2012 I was asked about using coal in this stove. The only coal I have tried is Charcoal, which works great and lasts longer than wood. I don't have lump coal to try but it does come with a coal grate and says it works well with coal too.

4 stars for a great stove that cooks with nearly any wood source, not 5 since it's high maintenance to keep the fire balanced.

Very fast shipping! I have bought 4-5 other stoves looking for the right one and found most have some fuel compromises. Most need for propane, white gas, butane etc. This one does not! Are you kidding me? A hot, sustained fire with just pine needles, twigs and sticks...wow! Very easy to use. If you can start a fire you can use this stove. We have been with out power due to storms many times; often up to 5 days. This stove will be the go-to cooker stove from now on. Very well made and well packaged. Save your $ and searching. This is the one you want. Get some cast iron pans, dutch oven and a water boiler (all available from Amazon) and your ready. Looking forward to a preppers dinner soon.

This is a great product. Heavy duty, efficient, and handy. Great for emergencies or camping. I've used both wood and coal in it to test it and the item preformed very well with both.

I used this stove twice to test it. Both test performed the same (Test 2. note the temp was 80 and it took 17 min. to boil the water). The ambient air temperature was 94 F humidity was about 8% I used the branches from a silver maple tree that had fallen on to my lawn. They were about half an inch in diameter. I broke them with my hands into six inch long pieces and put 6 of them in the stove trough the side opening. I then found some dead redwood tree leafs that had fallen and put a hand full of then down the top of the stove. I struck a wooden match and put it down the top hole to light the fire, I had to do this twice to get it started. All the fuel was very dry and old. The fuel started burning and and I placed a 15 Lt. Cabalas Dutch oven on top of the stove, it was filled with 10 to 13 liters of water. The water was brought to fast fast boil in 15 minutes. I had to add three hand full's of twigs during the test. It burns hot and fast. The best part is that it uses the twigs that fall from the trees that I have to remove before I mow the lawn, now I can save them in my wood shed and use them for the stove if needed. I hope this explains the stove it is worth the price and a practical stove for home use. It is not a back packing stove, but would work fine for car camping. The stove is heavy and well made. I have it stored in a safe dry place in case, I need it. review Oct 2012
