Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program What a great product. We have had numerous grill covers over the years. The last one was made by the grill company specifically for their grill. Well, let's just say it didn't hold up to the elements.

This product is heavy. Made with quality. It has vents so the air within can escape. To my great surprise it also has a zippered pocket for storing things. A few tools perhaps, a recipe/instruction book. I am not sure I will use that, but it is nice to have just in case.

It covers the grill quite well. In my case it hangs past the grill bottom onto the floor. The strap ties don't help in bunching it up. But I would rather have it overhang a bit than be too short.

Looks good and so far has done the job of protecting my grill.

We have a Weber Genesis, went with medium size cover. It fits GREAT!! a little play on both sides making it easy to slip on. Quality all the way. I hope it stands up to are Arizonia summers(fingers crossed). I hope this helps.(Glad we didn't go with the large size)

I have a Weber Genesis Silver B grill, and this cover fits perfectly. It has handy handles of each end that help to fit it down over the grill, and it is heavy enough that I know it won't blow off. I don't think I need the fancy buckles and drawstrings around the bottom hem, but others might use them.

Quality fabric, well-sewn . . . . . MUCH better than a Weber cover!

My Weber grill cover couldn't make it 2 years in the Chicago winter and summer. After reading reviews and taking measurements I ended up going with the large size (the color was the closest matching for my patio). It doesn't fit like a glove but it isn't too loose (Maybe 1-2" too big length wise). I was worried about the depth not being enough but there isn't an issue there. It hangs about a 1/2 inch off the ground (lower than the Weber cover). Towards the first snow I'll tighten up the bottom strap. It has survived a few normal rain/thunderstorms without blowing off and protected the grill.

I'll update my review in the future.

I have had this grill for 15yrs and the burn went out about 5 yrs ago. I just found it when I was clean up the garage and order this burner. I still have the old ceramic blocks & mesh which if not spread out right will give you hot spots. I am thinking of buying the new heat deflector which replaces the ceramics.

I have used this only once so far. It worked well. You have to have a really HOT fire right under it. I use charcoal. Yes, I'm a charcoal snob! It gets really hot, as it should. It's HEAVY as it should be. The cooking surface is not smooth so food will stick. Once it gets really hot again, after adding food, you can scrape off the stuck bits with a metal spatula, getting all that great flavor into the food. Even with the food sticking it was surprisingly easy to wash after cooking. Not sure how they expect you to get all the food and liquid out after cooking if you are not supposed to take it off the grill when hot, as the instructions state. Just use heavy oven mitts and take it off. It's not that hard. I am very happy with the wok! Made so much I had leftovers for two days.

This fork thermometer takes an accurate temp reading; and is a good deal for the price. It does have one quirk -it has a button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit which I keep accidentally hitting when I hold the fork. So I end up reading the temperature wrong because it has inadvertently changed to Celcius. Just be aware of this and the fork will work fine for all sorts of cooking.

I purchased and reviewed another meat thermometer and gave it one star due to how long it took to come up to temp. I got this Taylor in hopes of much quicker read time, and definitely got what I was looking for.

It comes up to temp in about 2-3 seconds (very fast in my book), and the bright blue display with big numbers is easy to read. The design feels solid and sturdy, not cheap, and I like that it's water resistant. If I were to give any criticisms, I don't really like the "Hold" feature and find it pointless. I wish the backlight stayed on all the time and you didn't have to press "hold" for the backlight. But, for the price, this doesn't ruin the 5-star value to me. I don't think you could find a better meat thermometer for this price.

I bought these to replace my old grates in my GSC2418n / GSC2418 BBQ Grillware. They showed up with a huge arc/bend that was easy to see even before putting them on a flat and level surface. I am not even going to bother to use them. They do fit, but are completely warped. I am going to see what else is out on the market and won't be getting a replacement set sent to me. I will post up a picture or two showing the warp that I am talking about.

Update I thought I would give them another chance and had them ship me an additional set. Guess what? It came warped in the same manner. So that is a total of 6 of them all warped in the same manner. I would highly recommend steering clear of this product since clearly it has no QA process.

The grates came on time and undamaged. Opening the package they look durable and hardy. I have a 4 burner grill and usually only use 2 burners. The grates have started to warp after several uses they are sagging in the middle. I didn't use high heat or heavy objects on grates. They are better than the cracked and rusted set I had before, but I don't think they will last very long.

I purchased my Portable Kitchen Grill in 1971. The wheels eventually cracked and I have replaced a couple of the frame bolts. Wouldn't have had to do that except this grill has spent fourty winters and fourty summers directly in the elements including being dropped from the tail gate of a truck, an ice storm and two hurricanes. The grill and the grates remain in good condition after 40+ years. I eventually bought a New Braunfelds out of Texas to accommodate huge crowds but I have gone through two of them due to rust out and they cost over twice what I paid for the PK. This is a lifetime go to grill.

I am in the midst of a BIG GREEN EGG crazed neighborhood and I still produce barbecue and ribs on the PK that $1500.00 Big Green Egg fans think came off an egg. Shhhhh!, I don't tell them I just accept their compliments on my BBQ while I listen to their lore about how nothing cooks as good as an egg???

One final comment if you oil the grates after each cookout with vegetable oil the grates will last for a long time. I am an old timer who was going green when it was all about building things to last and not just something fashionable to chat about while drinking bottled water out of a plastic container that will spend the next 50 years in a land fill. Do yourself and the environment a favor and get a PK to use for a lifetime and then leave it to your grandson or granddaughter. If I could change anything I would provide ceramic coated grates, stainless steel frame bolts and solid rubber tires and for another five bucks in manufacturer's cost and make this a one hundred year product. This is a 5 star product among the serious grill and smoker crowd and a 10 star among the thrifty "waste not want not" crew. By the way, my neighbor very carefully moved his four year old ceramic 200 plus pound 1,500+ dollar egg 20 feet across his patio in its optional custom $600 rolling table and it cracked wide open right down the middle... well you know ... just like an egg! I hope he finds a depression and an anger management support group SOON!

I bought this unit over three months ago and have used it exclusively since. I am not kidding, I have cooked on nothing else but the PK it is that good. The menu has included whole chickens, chicken breasts, chicken thighs, beef roasts, pork roasts, planked salmon, steaks, chops, brats, dogs, ribs and burgers. Everything has been perfect. Nothing else cooks like it. The genius of its design is that when it is closed (as is intended) the PK cannot support a flame. While the internal temperature remains hot enough to sear anything, meat will not burn from flare-ups. And, while the unit is closed, smoke produced from the meat itself, wood chips or chunks, and/or your choice of charcoal bathes your dish with wonderful aroma that you and your guests will truly enjoy.

The PK is virtually indestructible, sized right, and unique. It is pricey for those who expect to get a charcoal grill for nothing, especially in the age of shiney stainless gas units, but you won't find another cooker that cooks as well as the Portable Kitchen.

I finally broke down and purchased this grill because, due to limited patio space, I wanted a "do everything" charcoal grill that could also double as a smoker.

The performance is fantastic for a charcoal grill. The reviews and articles online are speaking the truth. The design is well thought out and classic. The cast body of the grill reflects most of the fire's heat back to the interior, ventilation, and temperature control are precise and easy to predict, and the charcoal can be conserved and re-used. Smoking is very easy compared to most other grills I had a Brinkmann water smoker before (the upright kettle grill) and the performance of the PK is far and away superior due to the ability to precisely control air and smoke flow.

The main problem I have with this grill is the ancient design and the lack of a few key modern conveniences. The biggest omission for day to day use is the lack of a reasonable way to clean the ashes. Basically the ashes wind up sitting in the bottom of the aluminum "bathtub" of the grill bottom. It is not designed to be cleaned, really. You can use a trowel or other hand tool to scrape the ashes out, or you can (if you carefully hold the bottom body to the frame) invert the grill and dump the ashes out. Either way you will get filthy with grease and soot. They REALLY need to augment the design with an ash catcher I would have paid $100 more if it had a good way to clean it out.

I give the PK three stars mainly for value, which is OK but not great. At this price high for such a small grill they really need to make it more user friendly.

We have used these grates all year and love them. Easy clean-up -can go right in the dishwasher (when we get back from camping!) The other reviewer needs to remember that the grates are non-stick, so SOS pads can be a little rough on them. Coleman does now make a cast iron grill grate for the Roadtrip grill. Maybe they need to get those instead.

These grill grates are very nice, but you have to treat them the same way you treat any piece of non-stick cookware. Rule #1: no metal implements. You have to use nylon or wood implements or you'll scratch the nonstick coating off. Rule #2: use plain sponges or abrasive pads that are non-stick safe only (usually the blue pads). SOS pads and other green pads can scour through metal and will definitely remove the non-stick coating.

After using my Road Trip for about a year, I'm beginning to see flaking of the non-stick coating. They still work great, but take a little more effort to completely clean. I'm probably going to try the cast iron grill grate next.

This will be given to my dad for Christmas because he is always barbequeing while holding the flashlight in his mouth or between his neck and shoulder. So this was a very great find! The tongs are larger than expected but still very strong and durable. They are very shiny and polished which will make a great presentation when he opens his gift. I've only had two days to play with this thermometer, but it certainly seems like a winner. The instructions are sometimes wrong with regard to how to operate the unit (you must press the _trigger_ and the up/down arrows to activate the laser/lcd backlight, not the _mode_ button and up/down), but once you figure it out you'll throw away the booket anyway. It does have high/low alarms (for emissive...not sure about the probe) and will do a high/low/average reading set.

I do not have a reliable way to determine whether the emissive temperature is accurate, but it appears to track closely with two of my other probe thermometers for cold-warm temperatures, and is in the right range for oven temperatures and, well, anything I could find to determine the temperature of. The probe seems equally accurate. Both are quick. The probe is comparable to my polder-look-alike, probably a bit faster to be honest. The emissive temp can be checked in a second or less, and can be set to continuously monitor (which would be useful with the alarms and the hold mode described below). When the probe is off, the unit sleeps after 60 seconds, with the probe on it will sleep after a few minutes. According to the manual, the unit will stay active for 1 hour with the "hold" mode engaged for continuous monitoring of emissive temps.

The laser is cute, but not really necesssary, as the sensitivity cone is 1:11, so at 11 inches away, the unit will read a 1" spot. Not really that hard to aim, and I would think the 1" parallax between the laser and thermal lens would cause error for really precise measurements.

The emissivity is adjustable over a very wide range. I believe you can set it as low as 0.10. The default is 0.95. Organics (per the manual) tend to be around 0.97 or 0.98, and it can be set as high as either 0.99 or 1.00 (not sure about the 1.00).

The unit seems sturdy, and the manual claims 140hrs continuous use on the 2 batteries. Obviously, having had it for two days I can't comment on battery life. Otherwise, its been a ball to play with.

The probe worked well for the few times I used it but then it had an electrical problem where it flashed error messages and finally stopped working. I contacted the company and they told me there is no warranty. They said it is a "quality assurance" product which means it is guaranteed to work out of the box, but with no warranty after. Nothing like guaranteeing a product will work when you buy it. It would be funny but for the fact the probe is so expensive.

I don't know what more you want from a thermometer. It is wonderful and I love having the probe on the same piece of equipment. I find that I use the infra red more than I expected (no more candy thermometers). It is highly accurated and has more features than I would ever use (it has various modes that would allow you to know Hi or Lo temp recorded plus others. I also have used it trouble shooting HVAC and the laser pointer (turns on or off) is nice when you are pointing to a register 20 feet away and want to ensure that you are capturing the correct temp.

It is fun. Highly recommend it.

p.s. the probe is a pivot function in that it does not FOLD out, but SWINGS out 180 degrees from its storage position. I suspect that this may not be as intuitive as some folks might like, but I have had no quality problems with this over the two-plus years that I have owned it.

If you do any cooking and need to know hot hot the oil is or check on how done your roast or whatever is, this is a great addition to the kitchen. I also use it for various other things around the house, including checking the temperature of the bath water. I love using it when frying fish...heat up the oil, point the laser at it and you have the exact temperature needed. I think it could also be used around the house or car to check the temperature at your AC vents, or to see how well your windows or doors are keeping the heat or cold in or out. I am very pleased with the quality and figure this is the kind of product that you wouldn't want to "buy cheap". You can spend more money, however, for most things around the house, it's an excellent investment and looks solid enough to be around for many years. Nice product.

The thermometer works pretty well. The probe was accurate within two or three degrees, and the infrared was accurate within two degrees. It's easy and fun to use. The only change I would suggest is that the probe would read the temperature quicker because it takes upwards of 10 seconds to get a stable reading.
