This is a great idea: make a grill that can be refurbished to "like new," simply by unbolting and replacing parts. This part is difficult to remove from the old grill. I had to cut mine out. I have had this grill for 15yrs and the burn went out about 5 yrs ago. I just found it when I was clean up the garage and order this burner. I still have the old ceramic blocks & mesh which if not spread out right will give you hot spots. I am thinking of buying the new heat deflector which replaces the ceramics.Amazon does it again
