This was my 1st food thermometer purchase, so I cannot compare it to others. The item is ok. It gives a reading with colors, but it can be confusing, as when the meat is rare it does read red, which is ok, but when it is med, it seems all the colors appear, not sure if that is ok with me. But I just started to use it. Perhaps I might prefer something that gives a readout with actual temperature

It was father's day and my dad just purchased a new grill, so I decided that it wouldn't be bad to get him a barbecue set. The set is very complete with many different barbecue tools. I am not a big grill cooker, but there is a good chance I will buy this for myself. It seems to have every tool I would ever think about when looking at a grill set.

In general, it is a solid, stainless steel set, and while the tools did not feel as high quality as I would have liked, they a decent affordable set. The case seems fine. I expect it to be discarded eventually anyway, since very few people would keep their cooking utensils in a case.

The tools are solid, get the job done fine, and if I had to buy it again, I would.

When I opened the cover, all appeared to be great but after only 2 months the whole top half is not the same color as the rest. It looks gray rather than black. It appears that the cover has been out in the weather for years but it has been 2 months.

This cover is a perfect fit for my Brinkman grill. It appears to be an identical cover to my previous cover that had Brinkman written on the front. I like the vent in the front and the ties on either end to keep it from blowing off. It is made of a heavy weather resistant material. The only thing that I would suggest is to change to a lighter color. The sun really does damage it after a year or so. I would recommend this cover.

After reading the reviews about grill presses chose this one because it has no screws or holes in the bottom to collect crud. The handle is long enough that you don't burn your hand when lifting from heat and it is attached securely so the iron does not shift and burn your arm or wrist. In addition, it fit the bottom of the pan we normally cook our bacon in. As far as the person who complained because the handle smoldered when they tried to season the cast iron, just set the oven on low like about 170 or 190. Will not hurt the wood handle. To others that complained about rust problems, learn how to treat cast iron utensils and you will not have a problem. Thanks to the other reviewers who pointed out problems in other presses.

This is a good grill press if your looking for something that's simply made and affordable. The design seems simple and unrefined. When I took it out the shipping packaging the first thing I noticed was how rough the edges were. It was as if the factory took a piece of iron and cut out a circle, then sprayed it with a clear coat spray paint. The edges were unfinished iron. Also the surface of the product was unpolished just plain metal with a clear coat. This isn't a sophisticated, clean designed press like some others out there.

The press has a glossy clear coat applied to it. Before I started cooking with mine I took the screws out and removed the wooden handle, and placed the metal into the oven and burned off the finish coat. The chemical smell it gave off was incredibly strong. I knew that couldn't be good to have on your food. After that process was done, I seasoned it with vegetable oil and baked it in the oven for a couple hours, reassembled it and now its suitable for cooking.

As far as the actual grill pressing duties, it does its job. Its a good weight and at 8 inches diameter it fits a medium sized pan. The surface that touches the food has grill marks embedded in it. Be prepared to have grill marks on everything.

In sum this is a suitable grill press that requires some conditioning. It's not a well finished product right out the box although it does its job. The old saying is right, "you get what you pay for."

I was looking for a Grill press to help me fry bacon. I use 10" cast iron frying pan. This grill press is 8" diameter. I was skeptical about it covering all of the bacon to keep it flat. When first putting the bacon in the pan, it is spread out larger than the grill press, but as the bacon fries it skrinks, so the end result is the bacon fries fast and ends up flat. I am happy I finally got a press to keep the bacon flat when frying. Oh yes, and the handle, it doesn't get hot.

If you like nice 'toasty' grilled cheese and other grilled sandwiches, you may wonder how you functioned without one of these bad boys. I do not use it on an outdoor grill, but inside with my frying pan or other large skillet. Could certainly be used for burgers on the grill (that may even be the product's intention). The only downside is you must wash it immediately and dry it thoroughly or it will rust. Well, maybe a little iron isn't a bad thing!

We bought this grill in June of 2011. Four months later in October of 2011, the grate began to show signs of rust. It is now rusted to the point that it looks disgusting and is embarrassing when we have friends over for a cookout. I have sent pictures to the store where we bought it and they forwarded them on to the manufacturer, Cal-Spa. The store called me back today and said Cal-Spa's engineer said we were cleaning it with the wrong wire brush.(give me a break!!!) I bought the grill scrubbing brush at Lowes and have used it on nothing but this grill. I proceeded to call the manufacturer myself. The first call, I was disconnected after they had me on hold for five minutes. The second call, again on hold for 5-10 minutes, then the girl came back and told me the engineer had worked there a long time and he said the grates would not be covered under warranty because WE had done something wrong! He also said their grates would not rust! BUYER BEWARE! I wish I would have seen someone else's review before purchasing. I do realize that sometimes things just go wrong with a product, and that's where a warranty comes in. NOT WITH THIS MANUFACTURER. WARRANTY DOES NOT EXIST!!! I have been told by the on line store where I bought this grill that they have many complaints concerning this manufacturer. AGAIN...BUYER BEWARE!!!

This is a nice looking cover, but I guarantee you'll be buying another one in less than a year. It fits nicely as well, I just wish they would make it out something a little more durable. That being said, It's been a year and I'm buying a new one just before the rainy season hits.

UPDATE: I received my newest cover and man, it appears the Gents over at Bradley Smokers have been listening and decided to bump up the quality of this cover significantly. The new one I recieved is a heavy nylon? fabric that seems to be significantly more durable than the previous one. I'm guessing that while this one might fade over the next year, I highly doubt it will tear or corrode. It's a rather industrial cover now and I look forward to seeing just how long this one lasts. I have purchased two of these covers in the last two years. One for myself and another for my father in law. The original Bradley cover was one of the worst covers I have ever seen. Evidently Bradley listened to their costumer feedback and came up with this new and greatly improved cover. I have my smoker outside year round in the Midwest on the south side of my home. Has the cover faded Yes. But no more than I expected it to. The cover has still remained pliable and hasn't "sun rotted" like so many other covers do. The cover is currently on it's third winter and still doing great. When it finally dies, I will not hesitate buying another.

Although it fits the smoker well and stays in place, this is not a good cover for the price. The cover is a rather lightweight vinyl that started fading immediately after I installed it and was all gray in a couple of months even though it's only in the sun a few hours a day. It barely lasted a year before it started tearing. Unfortunately, I've looked everywhere for a sturdier, better quality cover and cannot find any offered and, because of the odd shape of the Bradley smoker, covers designed for other products won't fit the unit well. So, here I am, ordering another poor quality cover because it's "the only game in town".

A good set of tongs is indispensable for pan frying or grilling of medium sized cuts, such as steaks or chops. You can get excellent control over the food while your hand stays cool near the back of the tongs.

These particular tongs have good points and bad points. They are well constructed of stainless steel, making them durable and easy to clean, and the locking mechanism works adequately. However, the 16 inch length is excessive for home use, and the unusually large opening angle, providing a gape of 12 inches, makes the tongs less than convenient to handle.

If this is your first set of tongs, you might be happier with a more convenient size, such as 12" Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Tongs (13-0546) Category: Stainless Steel Tongs. If you specifically need oversize tongs, though, this might be a good buy.

I like these tongs because the spring is very strong and the lock to close them is very easy to operate. I use these mainly for moving charcoal around on the grill. For that purpose, they work great.
