The new burner's work great, good as new!

Only problem was removing old burners. The screws that hold the ends in place were rusted in place. I had to drill them out, and replace the screws.

But all fine now..much cheaper than buying new grill.

I ordered this the same day I got a Weber. It fits it well. One drawback is the draw string that snugs it around the base. It's uneven so some working of the string around the bottom to get it to draw correctly had to be done. The logo and quality seem to work fine. The Weber one did not have good reviews and was priced too high to pas the NCAA cover up for a try.

Really Super Grill. You don't mess with charcoal and lighter fluid, so you can just focus on grilling. Of course, I've grilled hamburgers (grass fed/95% lean) and then just for fun grilled pineapple, and watermelon and eggplant. The Solaire is really opening up a whole new level of grilling experience. The grill heats up quickly and cleans easily afterward.

I managed to figure most if out without the instructions. And of note is that the owner of the company owner responded to an email I sent on their website during non-business hours !

I recieved the package in a very timly manner. It was packed very well. Came with all hardware needed to do the swap. The only issue I had was that the ignitor mounting bracket didnt fit on the burner very well. It seems on the replacement they combined the ignitor bracket mounting holes with the holes used to secure the down pipes to the burner. The OE didnt have removable down tubes and only had the holes needed to secure the ignitor mount. When they combined the purpouse of the hole it seems that the hole is in a slightly different spot and requires mounting it at a slight angle. Use of the ignitor requires several pushes before getting a good light. Whereas before it always lit the first time. This may be from other circumstances, not sure. Either way the product along with some new briquetts has made my grill new again! Product works great, nice to not burn food anymore with a burner that leaks out the top. Probably get another 5 years of grilling from it. If you lay the briquetts out well it makes a very even heat source.

Cons: No screen over air/fuel mixing ports. (bugs can get up in there and affect the mixture.) Fitment of ignitor mounting bracket a little off.

Pros:

Great product, cheap, even burn, came with all extra hardware needed. Installed fast and easy.

I made the mistake of trying a generic burner from Lowes. Such a mistake. A little extra research provided better information to enable an Amazon search to find this burner for me.It's an exact replacement for the original burner in this very old grill.Works perfectly and I could not be happier. Older BBQ was dying....inconsistent temps, weird hot spots. Took the grates and flavorizer bars out and the old burner was cracked and putting out a weird flame pattern. I had cleaned the old burners several times with a wire brush over its lifespan. Ordered new stainless burners and at the same time I decided to get these too. The old bars were enamel coated metal and completely rusted out with holes in the middle and some were split and falling on the burners. These stainless ones look a lot better and I am sure will last longer. Put it all back together and it works like new. Love Weber stuff. Exact fit on all parts and they work great. I highly recommend spending the extra money for stainless. Worth its weight in gold!

This product was only a partial stainless steel, with added alloys. Very missleading when they state stainless flavor bars. Stainless will not attract a magnet, which these do. For the extra cost it is not worth it. Ordered stainless to have the longer life, but found out that there isn't much longer in alloy added to stainless. very dissappointed from a company that has had a good name recognition.

I bought this some time ago, but just used it for the first time today. I cooked a salmon fillet which was probably not ideal, but heck, it should have worked better than it did. Three gripes: the salmon skin stuck to the wire, the wires are rather far apart, and the basket is hard to open when it is hot. Because of the skin sticking, it took a significant effort to get it clean. I took it at face value the statement on the front of the box that the device had a `Non-stick basket' and didn't coat it before using. Next time I'll spray it with oil before I use it. Because the wires are far apart, one's fish needs to be fairly big. If the skin hadn't stuck, the fillet probably would have fallen through the wires. Finally, as to releasing the baskets clasp, I burned myself opening it. I started with thick dish towel because the clasp is rather narrow. I then put on two oven mitts and struggled opening it almost dumping the fish on the floor.

Line the inside with parsely, rosemary & bay leaves. If you want to get 'fancy' you can weave the rosemary & parsely branches/twigs into the grates of the basket. I don't but you certainly can! ;)

Discount Nomex High Heat Gasket with Adhesive Upgrade Kit for Primo Oval XL

This product works as advertised. I made sure the old gasket and adhesive was thoroughly cleaned with acetone before installing the new gasket. After installation of the Nomex gasket I heated my Primo up to 600 degrees F to cook pizza the same temperature that melted the adhesive on my OEM gasket. The Nomex gasket and adhesive held up great with no problems. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that is shrinks a significant amount, leaving a gap at the joint. It would be nice if they pre-shrunk the gasket before applying the adhesive. No worries, though I just cut a small piece in (from the small amount of extra gasket provided) and compressed it into the gap after the shrinkage takes place. For this reason, it is important to compress the gasket as much as possible during installation.

Overall I recommend this product.

The problem with the standard gaskets is they have poor adhesive backing, are not designed for high heat and dry out after a year or so. The Nomex gasket works as adverised -very strong adhesive backing, high heat resistance and easy to install. The price is comparable to a factory gasket, but will last for several years making maintenance disappear.

I use my grill on a regular basis and went with this high heat to see if it will hold up longer then the original gasket did. So far so good. Pay attention and do not stretch the tape when applying it to the Primo Grill. If you have not installed one before I highly recommend searching U-Tube and watch the video on how to properly clean the old gasket off the grill and install the new gasket off setting the upper and lower ends of the tape.

Some call me a connoisseur, however even if you don't believe you are one you will still love this meat thermometer. I would definitely recommend it to pros, but even to the not-so-seasoned chef or grill-master. Reasons being: reads temperature speedily, accurately (tested against other non-digital thermometers); and most of all (the reason i think anyone can buy this) it's ease of use and interesting functions.

Although, it could be that i purchased one of the last ones in-stock. I think this is a rare find. But i do remember it being out-of-stock here a bit before i purchased it but i bought it as soon as it came in. :-) sorry bout that guys. Son Of Brisket Large Charcoal Grill Review

I own a 4 ft. Son of Brisket, now for about 10 years. Most people don't like to cook with charcoal and the reason is, it's hard to get the coals hot. But it's easy if you know the trick, and the trick is to get some Weber Chimmey Starters and three sheets of newspaper. You turn the chimmey Starter over and stuff it with three sheets of newpaper and turn it back over and fill it with charcoal and light the newspaper on fire in about 20 to 30 minutes your going have some glowing coals ready for cooking. Now to get on with the review, the Son of Brisket is two products in one, depending on the configuration you want to use. You can grill or smoke with it, this is what makes it very unique and it's easy to control the cooking temperture, due to it's simple design. I have left my grill outside for 10 year's and there are no signs of rust. The only problem I've had is the temperture gauge stop working, notified Tiernan and they sent me one free of charge, now that's what I call service. There's nothing like pulling off, a couple of racks of fall off the bone ribs and the brisket so tender, that it will make a Great Dane want to turn around and kiss a bulldog. If I had to buy another grill, I'd buy a Son of Brisket in a New York minute, bottom line.

I got my 4-48 SOB direct from the Mfg. I have had pits before from Texas and none compare to this one. First off the size of the SOB will let you cook anything and anyway you prefer. Want to grill -16rib-eyes no problem. Want to slo-cook -6slabs of ribs laying flat..gofor it!! To get this size of pit from anyother pit mfg in the state of Texas will cost you double and big time shipping costs. The smoker box will let you slo cook all day long at 250 degrees..just add a little briquets every hour and that is it. Some prople dont understand why I like large bbq pits. It is really quite simple. I like them for their flexability. You dont have to have the whole sucker full of food. But you have safe spots. You can sear steaks and chops and then move them to a cooler area to finish up. You can throw in two full briskets or a small pig with no problem. This pit is made to last. The body is 14 gauge steel and the door is 11 gauge. You get a top notch pit thermometer as well. There is no need to have a bbq to grill with and a smoker for lo and slo. The SOB does it all. If you want to do competition Que in your backyard get a SOB!! This pit is pound for pound the best around. I should know, I have just about had them all!!

Got the 4f grill for my B-day and Love it. It is a solid heavy grill. has wheels on the bottom to move it around and lock it in place. Has a huge area for grilling and is completely rust free. The customer service is the best ever. Once again this is a 100% USA MADE. It took me months to find a grill made in the USA. I did not want anything made in China. I had been through 2 China made grills and was sick of them falling apart plus there was not customer service. You can tell that the builder took alot of pride building this grill. It is a great conversation piece. Once I started grilling on this heavy duty grill all the other grills I would see in Lowes or Home depot seemed so flimsy and breakable. It comes with a smoker compartment and has adjustable openings on the side and on the chimney. Also there is a slot that pulls out and you can dump your ashes in about 20 sec. I got 2 containers of herbs and a detailed direction manual that included a recipe in the back for ribs and rub. Because it is so heavy when the top closes and it keeps all the smoke and heat in. I have to use half the normal coals becaues it stays hot 450 degrees for atleast 3-4 hours withougt replenishing. I would hightly recommend getting the custom fit cover for it. It fits like a glove and is a nice tan faux leather color.

Downside and yes there is only one downside is that the grate is not adjustable, but since it has such a large grilling surface you can easily do indirect grilling so that compinsates for the non adjustable grate. Thanks SOB! Your the BEST!!
