I just purchased a grill from Sam's Wholesale that is with 3 compartments: propane, charcoal, and smoker. As such it is 78" wide and with the smoker chimney it is 50" tall. I was concerned that the cover's dimensions indicated that it was 42" tall. I bought it thinking that "oh, well... it will get most of the grill covered". I am delighted to say that the 42" is the skirt length but the material at the top of the grill cover nicely bends/buckles and covers the curves of the grill top (including the chimney) an reaches to within 3" of the ground. So, 50" 3" = 47" of covering in my case.

I love the cover and the material. It has nice velcro fasteners at each end to keep the cover snug.

I am so glad I looked for this on Amazon.

Mr. Bar-B-Q Backyard Basics Eco-Cover PVC Free Ex-Large Grill Cover Easy to cover grill and remove because its very lightweight. We live in a cold weather climate & use our BBQ grill throughout the year which can be a hassle with heavier fabrics. Cover seems to protect grill as well as heavier more costly covers and is much easier to put on and take off!

Love It!!

I have had many bad experiences with the quality of grill covers that I have owned in the past. This cover is well designed, good looking, light, and sturdy. It has an excellent tie-down/strap system. I live 20 minutes north of Tallahassee, FL. In my area of the world, we get a lot of extreme rain, sun, and temperature swings. So far, this large cover has shrugged off rain and protected my expensive grill from UV damage. I fear that in a year, this cover will dry out and crack like the many I have owned before; but the construction and feel of this product is so different from the grill covers of my past that I have hope that it will last! The air vents are a nice feature. My wife loves this cover because it is light enough that she can take it off and use the grill when I am running home late from work! I bought my grill at Sam's Club; it is a large grill with infrared, propane, and charcoal burners. It took me forever to find a cover that fit it perfectly. I finally found this one and I love it! If you bought the grill that I did from Sam's, buy this cover!!! I highly recommend this product!

Honest reviews on Mr. Bar-B-Q Backyard Basics Eco-Cover PVC Free Ex-Large Grill Cover

I purchased this product in June of 2010, and I have two issues with this product:

First, Price, in June of 2010, I paid $59.99 for this BBQ cover on Amazon, and, at that price I expected much better quality. Today, I see the same item selling on Amazon for $33.51. I sure feel like I got taken advantage of.

Second, Quality, or, lack there of. This cover is very flimsy, and after a year, it had started to dry rot. What you should know is that this cover has NOT been exposed to the elements. I live in southern California, about 5 miles from the beach. And, this BBQ has never been exposed to rain, and very little direct sunlight. This cover and my BBQ sit on my covered back porch, safely away from the elements. I bought this cover to protect my $900 BBQ. Now, after 2 years, the fabric is like paper, dry and brittle, you can make holes in it just by poking it with a finger.

Even at $33.51, I cannot recommend this product, the quality is just too poor.

July, 2013 Update I am sad to announce, that my cover died earlier this month. The cover became as brittle and flimsy as paper, and, when I attempted to remove the cover from my BBQ, it ripped to shreds.

Argh! I paid $69.99 for this item a little over a year ago, and now it is so sun/weather damaged that it is ripping apart. Now I see the price has dropped. If a company is going to sell a grill cover for outdoor use, I expect it to last longer than a year.

I bought this for my gas grill because my wife and I cook hibachi style very often. There are many reasons to like this griddle:

easy to clean

very sturdy

doesn't slide on the grill

drip tray is useful for diverting sauces and juices

verticle sides keep food and sauces from falling into the grill

Even though it would be nice if there were handles that would make it easier to transport, I would highly recommend this product.

This is not stainless steel. It can't be. At first I thought it worked great, even though it discolored and couldn't be cleaned enough to restore the original look, but after a few uses, It started to get rusty, even without obvious moisture EVER left on the surface. Not blackened or stained, but flat out rusted. Now, without ever using it again, and keeping it stored in fully enclosed, completely protected cabinet in its accompanying bag (put away dry), we opened it this season to find it COVERED with rust and totally unusable. Lots of money for a 4-5 use item.

It is so refreshing to receive a product and it's just as it was described. I love this grill and and it works just as they said it would. I recommend watching the care and cleaning video offered on the web sight as it will make a difference to your grilling experience with this product.

Honest reviews on Little Griddle SQ180 Universal Griddle for BBQ Grills, Stainless

So my cast iron griddle on my grill that I leave outside keeps getting very badly rusted each year I have to clean it 2-3 times get the rust off wash dry and then season it with Crisco for 4 hours on the grill only to have it rust a few weeks later.

Then I cam across this wonderful invention that on't rust( I hope) that lets me cook like my local diner! Now I can do mushrooms and onions outside, roast peppers, eggs omelets! All kinds of food that I would have to break out the electric griddle for inside the house! It has a grease well! Also It really seems like a commercial grade or close to commercial grade to me. I expected a cheap flimsy thin stainless, and instead was pleasantly surprised with the quality of it. My one question is that a magnet sticks to it? So it is not high grade stainless, it will be interesting to see how it holds up over time. This is the reason for my "4 stars" instead of 5. Magnets don't stick to true stainless.

This griddle came exactly as advertised. Heats up super fast on grill. I have even set it on top of my turkey fryer with success. I have cooked everything from tater tots to fish, steak, burgers, eggs, veggies. I have not had any problems with sticking. I usually toss on some oil or butter. Puts a great sear crust on burgers and steaks. While griddle is hot hit it with some water and scrape off food into drip trough in front. I usually put some wet paper towel in trough as well to help absorb grease. You do need to hit it with a grill stone every now and then if you dont like the darkening of surface ( I dont mind it, a seasoned griddle requires less oil and cooks better IMO ). I DEF reconmmend this for those who are sick and tired of flare ups!

For reasons that needn't be described but through no fault of the merchant, I ordered the wrong model of this product. As the product is large and a pain to ship, I expected some pushback in returning the product and getting the right model. To my surprise and delight the merchant (IP Camera Store) was most responsive and accomodating. The return was granted and full credit made immediately after the return was received. After careful double-checking, I went ahead and ordered the desired model, which I note actually cost slightly less than the returned product. My hat is off to IP Camera Store for their super customer service. I recommend them highly and will be sure to consult their catalog first for any purchases I make in the future.

I have a family of 7 with a few extra around a lot of the time. Grilling used to be a step by step process which usually meant I ate after everyone else because I was still cooking when most were eating. We like to do meat and vegetables on the grill and with this grill I can do it all at once and sit down with the family and enjoy! You can build your fire off center and spin the grate to move one item off and another item over the flame. You can also build small fires on two sides and put meat in the middle and smoke anything. Easy to control vents allow you to regulate the heat and burn time of the coals. Also it doesn't use a bag of cahrcoal at a time as you might think. You can use one Weber Chimney Starter (which I also recommend)full to cook most items. The grate is TOP quality. I used to go through a grate a year on my old Weber Kettle. This grate is beefy and I think must be finished better. No rust at all after two years. The only thing that keeps me from rating this 5 stars is dealing with ashes. You have to remove both grates (and the cooking grate is a handful)and shovel ashes out. The bottom has three vents that are not made for ash removal. At least you can cook a ton before ashes become a problem. It is expensive and a load but I would do it again in a heartbeat if a tornado came and blew it away. That is about the only thing I can think of that would keep this thing from lasting for 20 years or more.

I recently purchased the Weber Ranch Kettle after several years of using Brinkmann charcoal grills. I cook on a charcoal grill A LOT; I use my grill several times per week in the spring and summer and I cook my Thanksgiving turkey and a big Christmas meal every year on my grill (we usually have about 12-20 people over for each holiday). I've never considered a gas grill because food cooked over wood or coals tastes so much better, and I've got a gas stove in my kitchen, so what's the point of cooking with gas in my backyard?. In the past 6 years I've worn out 2 Brinkmanns, which each lasted 3 years before the heat of cooking severely warped some of the key parts of each grill. I went to my local home improvement store to replace my latest grill, and I was dismayed to observe that the new Brinkmanns seem to be made of a lower grade of steel. There's no way the new Brinkmanns would stand up to really heavy usage. So I decided to treat myself to the Ranch Kettle, which costs about five times as much as my last grill. Overall, I'm pleased with the Ranch Kettle, but it's not for everyone.

PROS:

Performance

I've prepared two meals on the Ranch Kettle, one for my family of three and one for a party we hosted for fifteen people, and it performed admirably. I've cooked 2 large tenderloins, a variety of vegetables, and a couple of steaks, and everything came out perfectly. And I mean PERFECTLY! Even the large tenderloins cooked evenly, with a slight pleasing char and beautiful grill marks. The heat is easy to control by manipulating the amount of fuel or moving the food in relation to the coals. The hinged cooking grate folds up easily in 2 places, so adding coals during cooking is simple. However, sometimes it's difficult to manipulate the hot hinged portions of the grate to return to a completely flat position. Even so, the huge cooking area makes it possible to cook several items at once. From that perspective it's by far the best grill I've ever used. I'm looking forward to using the Ranch Kettle for slow-cooking ribs or brisket; I'm confident that this grill will do a good job with these difficult dishes.

Construction

I've only has the grill for a short time, but it seems very solid. Assembly took about an hour, with clear instructions provided. During cooking, the system for holding the heavy lid on the side of the grill is very sturdy (though you have to use 2 hands with thick oven mitts to protect yourself from the heat). I keep my grill on a brick patio, and the four plastic wheels (two large, two small; the small wheels lock) rotate freely over the uneven surface, making it easy to move the grill even while it's in use. I am a little concerned about the lower grate, which supports the coals under the cooking grate. The lower grate has already warped slightly under the intense heat necessary for preparing a large meal. I suppose I'll be able to replace the charcoal grate, but it's a little soon to see it warp like that.

CONS:

No shelf

I'm used to having shelves on the side of my grill. These come in handy for tools and keeping sauces and other items nearby. The Ranch Kettle is huge, but I have to use a separate table to keep these things close at hand. The grill has several hooks for keeping tools, but I'd prefer a shelf on the side, especially one that folds down when not in use.

Cleaning

The Ranch Kettle is a bitch to clean. The removable cooking grates from my old Brinkmann would fit in the dishwasher, or in my kitchen sink for soaking. The large round cooking grate on the Ranch Kettle has to be cleaned without these conveniences. I use a sturdy wire brush with a metal scraper on the tip, which is effective at removing chunky food residue, but it isn't sufficient to get all the grease and residue off the grate and get it truly clean. I may invest in a Grill Daddy, but the grill has to be heated for that to work properly, which is a lot more convenient for a gas grill than for one which uses wood or coals for fuel. I may buy a big tub to soak the grate, but that's another hassle. I won't use any of the commercially available chemical grill cleaning solvents because it would be difficult to wash off the chemical residue, since I can't fit the grate in the sink or dishwasher.

Also, the large amount of charcoal necessary for the Ranch Kettle produces a prodigious amount of ash. I'm accustomed to dumping grill ash in an unused corner of my yard, but the Ranch Kettle makes so much ash I'm going to need a large ash can to dispose of it. The ash has to be scooped out of the lower portion of the kettle; the large ash catcher beneath the kettle is effective at keeping hot ash from blowing around, but most of the ash remains in the lower portion of the kettle.

Vertical clearance

As I indicated earlier, I grill my Thanksgiving turkey over coals and wood each year. However, I'm concerned that, for all it's size, the Ranch Kettle's lid doesn't seem to provide enough vertical clearance for a good-sized bird to fit underneath. I measured about 10 inches from the top of the middle of the lid down to the cooking surface; that's probably not going to be enough. The Ranch Kettle is unsurpassed for cooking most foods, but cooking something tall like a turkey may pose a problem.

Cost

As I indicated, this thing costs as much a five Brinkmanns. It also uses a huge amount of fuel. During our recent party, I tore through 1 1/2 large bags of regular charcoal, plus a full bag of mesquite wood chunks. Furthermore, I need to buy an ash can and some unique cleaning implements to service this large grill. And now that I've spent more than $1000 on this thing, I need a big waterproof cover to protect my investment. I suppose no grill comes with it's own cover, but the Ranch Kettle is a costly specialty item and I naively hoped Weber would provide one. I've ordered a round outdoor table cover, which I hope is sufficient to protect the grill from the elements. So there's a lot of stuff to buy even after you've plunked down a grand and change for the Ranch Kettle.

Despite these shortcomings, the Ranch Kettle is a pleasure to use and produces spectacular results no other grill can match. It's pricey, but it performs. Just know what you're getting into before you buy.

UPDATE 9/19/2010:

I've been using the Ranch Kettle all summer and it has lived up to it's excellent early performance. Yesterday, I cooked TWO 14-pound turkeys in about 2 hours. The results were spectacular. The 2 birds fit, albeit snugly, under the lid without touching it. I've spent the summer cooking all kinds of food and I've yet to make a bad meal on the Ranch Kettle. I've slow-cooked both beef and pork ribs using indirect heat, and I've grilled enough steaks on it to feed a platoon. The early warping of the coal grate I experienced has not worsened, though I periodically flip the grate to prevent any further damage. The outdoor table cover I purchased separately has been sufficient to protect the grill from the elements, though I plan to store it indoors over the winter. I've managed to keep the cooking grate clean with a heavy-duty scouring pad and hot water, in addition to the standard wire grill brush, after each use. Yes, this is a chore, but I haven't found a decent alternative. Just be sure to dry the grate with an old towel after cleaning to avoid rust. The only new complaint I have is that one of the small plastic wheels recently fell apart. I was able to snap it back together, but they are too flimsy for such a big (and expensive) grill.

If you like the 22" or 26" Webers you will love the Ranch Kettle. Cooks just like its smaller kin but with the "Grande Meals" in mind. Plenty of room on the grill to move things around from direct to indirect heat. Weber says you can put 27 game hens at once on it. Heck with the little birds, to give you an idea of the cooking surface I filled the grill with 20 chicken halves. A great investment!

Honest reviews on Weber 60020 The Ranch Charcoal Kettle Grill

I have had this product for over 2 years now and I love it. I have read other response about how difficult it is to clean. You are talking about a massive grill that sits in your yard get some degreaser and blast it with your hose. cleans up great. I have no problems with this grill. It is a must have for the true BBQue enthusiast. I use my for BBQ comp, I am able to have a fire on one side and cook passively. I took the charcoal grate out because of how close it keeps the coals, if you remove that one and put in a 22" grate for a standard weber and put it in the bottom it will keep your coals at a better distance and it is big enough so the 3 vents on the bottom can still breath. Love the lid design and the holder system that is made for it. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Weber 60020 The Ranch Charcoal Kettle Grill

It was packaged in such a way to almost guarantee the dent in the lid caused by a charcoal vent. There's no one-touch cleaning, making the three vents inadequate for cleaning. There's no place for a thermometer (like the performer series). Grill has no handles. I would expect a little more in the way of features at that price! Its pretty darned expensive for what it is.

If you're buying a weber charcoal chimney, the large one does NOT hold the correct amount of charcoal, you need two small ones (which is even better for indirect heating). At least that's the case if you follow their guidelines for briquette counting.

Shipping was through a freight company (that I had never heard of), and delivery is NOT guaranteed by the date Amazon gave me unless you happen to be home when they call to set up an appointment. I called them by 10 AM and it was too late to set up an appointment for that day.

But, other than the above, the grill is HUGE, nothing like it for a large gathering!

Could not find the Nexgrill burners in the store because they were not a standard size for the grill I had purchased at Costco several years ago. But they arrived on time and fit very well. The only item I would complain about is they did not come with the small screw and bolt parts to hold them in place.

I can't stop using this grill! It is a lot of fun and the food tastes soooo good! I am not an experienced griller and haven't grilled successfully very often before this grill, but I feel like a pro now. It's not the best for thick meat cause you can't leave the grill unattended, but cooks a mean chop! I haven't quite figured it all out yet but really enjoy experimenting. Pros: cooks food fast, portable, stainless steel, great for searing, great smokey flavor, easy clean up. Cons: have to add wood frequently, hard to keep the heat consistent (have to monitor temp the whole time) and has hot spots, carrying bag does not have pockets for the power cords, it a bit small too (perfect for a family of 5, but no more). you have to flip the food every 60 seconds but you grill with the lid off, so it's not a big deal. The lid is only used to add smoke flavor at the end of the cooking. So..... 5 minutes to warm up, 6-10 minutes on the grill and 1.5 minutes of smoking with the lid on at the end. Enjoy!

First time I heard of Cook-Air was from my step-brother 2 weeks ago at our summer camp. When he took his unit out of the bag, he would not shut up about his grill.... I was very sceptical until he started the unit with a ball a newspaper and a piece of apple wood. (not bigger than a baseball). In less than 5 minutes, this thing was blasting heat like I have never seen before. We cooked 3 porter house steak to perfection in about 7-8 minutes. I have never had a juicy steak like this in my life... Not to mentioned the smoky taste. The next morning, we boiled water for the coffee and oatmeal and then later that day my wife made us an omelette for lunch.... ON A FREAKING portable BBQ with a T-Fal... Couldnt do that with my small prtable Coleman! The great thing is that you can also cook slowly with that... Chiken and fish (in aluminum foil)... We did about 30 burgers in less than 25 mins.... It was smoking a lot but I was flipping burgers every minutes and bam they were ready.... They say not to cook too fatty on the BBQ... Its so hot that the fat drips disapear in smoke... But overall, its like bicyle, the more you use it, the better it gets... Outstanding product!!

Cant wait to tailgate with my Cook-Air at the Packers game! Go Packers!!

THE UNIT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO BUY THE PARTS JUST TO GET THE GRILL GOING AGAIN.

finally got ahold of the office and they said they were aware of problem and corrected it. they are sending me the new parts free

I bought this hoping to get the 1000 degree heat as advertised. In order for the grill to get that hot you have to set the blower on 5 the only problem is the grill starts billowing black smoke at that setting, even using the fuel (compressed sawdust) that they provide with the grill. I did follow the directions for "breaking-in" the grill before using it the first time. This smoke leaves a foul taste in any meat you cook at that setting. Haven't tried it again after my first bad experience

This rack works well. Using indirect heat, a drip pan with a little water in it to catch the grease and create a little moisture and you are set to go! The rack holds more than you think it will hold. Can be used for chicken breasts, quarters, etc. also. I spray my racks with a little olive oil before I put everything on the grill...this helps with the clean up....makes that job allot easier.

I just used this for the first time last weekend and it did a pretty good job. The finish is good, no issues with balance (ie the ribs flopping over), no rusting issues after washing...it did it's job pretty well.

There were only one thing really keeping this from being a five star review. Like another poster put the holders are somewhat close together. I was able to slip them in with no problem, pulling them out I had to be careful because after smoking them for 6 hours they get a bit tender. The only real problem I had was that the ribs in the middle were so tightly pressed against the rack on either side that it didn't get as much heat or smoke. I had to finish those ribs off in the oven and they didn't have the nice smoke ring I like to see. I would suggest only cooking one or two racks at a time so this doesn't happen (this is kind of a bummer since there are technically 4 slots for the ribs to go).

Best Deals for Weber 6406 Rib Rack

Bought a pair. Love the construction. Hate the design/size. First use was baby back ribs -average size. Had to forcibly squeeze them into the rack. Lost some of the rub off the ribs in the process. Struggled to remove the ribs in order to flip them half-way through cooking -required some force and the acrobatic use of two pairs of tongs in order to pull them out without everything flipping off the grill. Lost some of the meat and some more of the rub in the process.

Long story short, these racks, given their design and narrow slots, aren't good for anything other than the smallest/straighest ribs, etc. For me, these were a total waste of money -I never expected I'd have to research the width of the slots on a rib rack before purchasing. Hard to understand why Weber designed these the way they did -I'd love to see a Weber exec try to make healthy-sized baby back ribs using these.

Bought these through my wife's Amazon account. Otherwise, it would show up for me as a "verified purchase."

Honest reviews on Weber 6406 Rib Rack

I cook baby back pork ribs all the time. This rib rack is indispensable. The poster that said they were too small must not have tried cooking with them. It holds the ribs up and apart so that they get even heat. If they were any farther apart the ribs would slump down in the slots keeping them from getting even heat and making them difficult to remove. Once they are done you just take them off the heat, flip them over and give them a shake-the ribs just fall out. I have only cooked beef spare ribs once as they are not as popular with my crowd, but they worked well with them also.

We purchased this Weber rib rack and it was an immediate hit. We have recently started using wood chips and a smoker box on our Weber gas grill and bought the rack for obviously, making ribs. What we did not realize until after using it, is it is also perfect for thick boneless pork chops, bone-in chicken breasts, and anything else that you want to cook low and slow to keep the moisture in. We put a little spice rub on the chops, stand them up in the rack, and they are the best tasting chops we have made in many years of grilling. Very happy with how moist they are. The only thing we haven't completely mastered yet is cleanup. I am not sure you need to use a non-stick spray on it, but I did, and it is difficult to clean it off afterwards. Next time around we will skip that step and see if it cleans up more easily after a good soak in hot soapy water. But the rack is a great design and has added to the fun we have grilling!

We got a Little Chief top-load smoker (the only version made back then) for our wedding in 1971. We caught lots of salmon back then, and half of it went into this smoker. Alder wood is best with salmon, and I just finished smoking 3 pounds of it this afternoon. That same little smoker works every time, and should last a few more years, at least. I actually looked into getting another, but decided to use this until the heating element finally quits (it's the original). It's old, dark, and crusty, and I think we've used it over 250 times, but after 41 years of great service, it now is part of the family (a smelly part, though). Happy smoking!

Larry

P.S. Realize that this unit is a smoker, but NOT a cooker. Some meats will need to be cooked in another, hotter, appliance in addition to being smoked with the Little Chief. Salmon, however, does just fine with only smoking. Sometimes I smoke the brined chunks for 6 hours or so. The fish chunks get darkened on the outside, but the interior is mildly smoked, moist and tasty. Other times, I smoke the fish for 12-15 hours. In that case, the fish shrinks in size, gets very dark and rich, and the texture is more chewy. The intense smokey salmon flavor is awesome, but too strong for some. My favorite brine was found online. It contains white wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, onion salt and water. Once you get your new smoker, experiment with different recipes and species. Have fun!

This past year, I purchased this smoker for my husband for Christmas. The only thing he's smoked in it so far is salmon, but OH MY GOODNESS!!! It tastes amazing! The smoker comes with a little recipe book and it's full of delicious sounding foods that we can't wait to try when the weather gets colder. The smoker is compact and well built. The wood chips that come with it smell amazing even before you burn them. The racks are EASY to clean and if you happen to burn something on them a little Easy Off oven spray does the trick. We invert the box and put it on top of the smoker instead of buying the insulating blanket and it works just fine. No fires, no burned cardboard. It's a trick we learned from my dad who has the same model, only 15 years older.

The Pro's: It's a nice smoker. It you can smoke a lot of stuff with it. I like how you can reload the wood chips at the bottom, with out taking the lid off and loosing the heat. If you keep the box it came in, the instruction manual gives you advice on how to turn it into a cold smoker. Great for delicate things like smoking hard boiled eggs or just adding smoke flavor. You can cook FISH all the way thru. If you cut meat thin enough, it makes great beef jerky. You can skip the smoking chips and just use this as a dehydrator also.

The Cons: The bad part about this smoker is that the heating element stays at 165 degrees. Which means you can NOT cook steak, or chicken all the way thru. Whole chicken, forget about it. It just does not get hot enough. I smoked a steak for 5 hours, still raw in the middle. You smoke your meats for 3 to 5 hours to get a good smoke flavor, then have to finish it off in the oven or stove. Sometimes juices coming out of the meat kinda washes off some of the smoke flavor. That was the only disappointment for me. This would be the coolest little smoker if it cooked meats all the way thru, but it doesn't. When they advertise this product, they leave this very important fact out for some reason. I wonder why ?

Honest reviews on Smokehouse Products Little Chief Top Load Electric Smoker

This is only and I repeat only a smoker. It will not cook meat. I had 4-3.5 pieces of beef on this thing for 10 hours and it was still raw. When I contacted the company, their response was smoke it for 3 trays of chips and then put it in your slow cooker, I should not have wasted the money and when I complained, there was no customer support.

I purchased this for my husband to smoke salmon. He had a larger smoker, but it did not create the same quality or flavor of the smoked fish as this 'Little Chief'. He loves it and is very pleased with the smoked fish it produces (as well as our friends who love his smoked salmon).

Alright. This grill gets 4 stars. Easy.

Everyone is all bent out of shape for it seems the same issues:

1)they broke the screws or handles or something when they put it together.

2)they cant get it hot enough, or the grill rack itself doesn't get hot enough to sear something.

3)the flame goes out when it's windy.

Well here's what I have to say, and I've been a chef for 30 years. Take it for what it's worth:

If you spend $30 and are expecting a mind blowing, life changing, best product on the market grill, you're an idiot.

This grill heats up fine and very fast. It gets hot to do all sorts of thingsI've even done 10lb pork shoulders, whole chickens, and giant roasts that I've shredded for tacos and enchiladas. Sure it takes 2 propane containers but chilling on the beach while things cook away is money in my mind. Check it every 45 minutes.

The grill rack itself is flimsynot thick iron like a professional piece of equipment, so you need to learn how to get it to its hottest point and then sear things quickly and simply. The point is that it won't retain heat once you put something on it, so common sense says raise the temp of the food item you're going to put on it so the change in temp of the grill rack is minimized and the sear is stronger. Don't put a cold burger patty on it. Pull it out of your cooler early. It's not rocket science, it's freaking food people.

All in all, this is a fantastic grill for your $30. It actually has higher btu output than the Weber go anywhere grill for half the price.

Learn how to use it (even putting soaked wood chips in the bottom or lava rocks, pot liquor from your collards to steam, wood chunks, etc.)and it will be the best grill you've EVER had. Sure beats plenty of grills I've tailgated with or friends' on the beach. I've had mine for 7 years and the thing is a work of art still.

Oh, and if a screw breaks? Go to the hardwear store and buy a new screw for $.30. Stop crying about the grill. It's not the grill, it's your lack of common sense.

I've had this BBQ for over 3 years and use it almost every week to drag it to beaches, camping etc. It's very portable and gets the job done. I've cooked chicken, pork, hotlinks, corn and just about anything you can think of on it just fine.

It does go out on occasion when it's very windy, but you just light it back up. There's one trick that I find helps a lot, I wrap the grille in special BBQ aluminum foil (that has holes in it). It seems to make the grill more efficient -and also, I've never cleaned it since I just put new aluminum foil every time I use it.

I love this grill and have recommended it to many friends -it's cheap and has a perfect form factor. You can even put your gas tank, tongs, lighter and other accessories into the grill while you're carrying it to the beach -awesome!

We do a lot of "camping" at stock car racing events, and for years have used a worn-out cast iron hibachi to grill the burgers and dogs. While burning charcoal on the old hibachi always succeeded in getting us fed, it was long overdue for replacement.

We decided to upgrade to a portable gas grill, and this is the model we bought. It has truly been night and day from the hibachi!

Just the fact that it has a lid was a huge improvement! And what a concept to not have to wait for the coals to burn down, only to fight to keep the fire consistent. The grilltop is not only larger than the hibachi's, but much more stable than the 2 "paddle" style tops the hibachi used.

Overall, I am very pleased that we replaced the hibachi with this grill for the price, it can't be beat as a portable grill!

I received this grill in the mail...promptly. Although it was a little flimsier than I'd like, it is still a great grill. The ease of setup and the cooking ability that you get are worth WAY more than the price. NO MORE LAVA ROCKS!!!

Do yourself a favor...buy either this one or the Weber portable. But look at it this way, for the price of the Weber, you could buy TWO of these!!!

I purchased this grill about 3 years ago. I was initially happy with its performance and loved the fold up legs, but I would never buy another one. The construction is cheap and flimsy, which I didn't mind at first since I only use it on camping trips. The downside to the cheap materials is that the burner does not get hot enough to properly sear a steak, and the legs are quite unstable. I was also never comfortable with the flimsy connection between the regulator and the burner. This grill can also be exceptionally hard to light. I've also had a problem with the heat shield falling out of position whenever I transport it. Most recently one of the cheap plastic handles broke worsening this problem as the heat shield rests on the inside of the nuts that hold the handles in place.

Despite these significant flaws I've still been able to cook some decent meals. Since I only paid about $30 for it, and got 3 years use out of it, I really shouldn't complain. However, now that I'm replacing it I'm buying a Weber Q100 which I've read has better performance and will last much longer.

13041(3-pack) Replacement Straight Stainless Steel Burner for Mcm Review

13041(3-pack) Replacement Straight Stainless Steel Burner for Mcm, BBQ Grillware, Ducane, Home Depot, Original Part, Lowes Model Grills

This product is pretty OEM generic. A 3-pack of replacement burners. They're only packaged in a thin layer of bubble wrap and come with no instructions. I used them for a Ducane natural gas grill. Worked like a charm.

I found some instructions online. However, after taking a lot of screws out, I determine you really only need to take out the screws holding the cover for valves and manafold to the barbacue. The valve are actually screwed the cover and the instructions indicate to remove these screws before removing the cover. However, if you leave the valves still attached to the cover, you can slide the cover, valves and manafold out the inch needed to remove the burners. It also makes re-assembly much easier because you don't need to re-align each vavle to the hole in the cover.

Lastly, pay attention to the air mixure gapping on each burner. Try to match the actual inlet size of the factory units. You can find plenty of guides on the internet on what the flame should look like when the air mixure is correct. When evaluating the mixure visually, I did notice a bit of difference when the flavor covers were re-installed so I think the only trial-and-error method would be to completely install the burners (using the original burner's factory gap), valve cover, flavor covers, etc., fire up the grill, and then if the mixure isn't good, wait for the grill to cool down so you can start over. The problem is you can't adjust the air mixure without taking the burners back out so this process is a pain. I set these replacements as close to the originals as I could and figured it was good enough. I believe you just don't want too much yellow or orange flame. Blue is the correct color, with a smaller light-blue cone inside each darker blue cone. Again, plenty of videos that explain it better than I can.

I'm only giving this 4 stars because of the shoddy bubble wrapping. There was no damage to the burners but they could have been wrapped better. Instructions would have been nice too. However, the price was the cheapest I could find so maybe I shouldn't complain.

Our 4-year old Weber Baby Q's grate needed replacement (I felt it should have lasted longer, but didn't.) Searched the internet for the best price, but after adding shipping onto lower prices elsewhere, Amazon was a contender and certainly a trusted seller and got our business. The item came quickly, fit just fine, and we've been using it with no problems. We're satisfied.

Cover for RCS 36" Drop-in Grill Reviews

Cover for RCS 36' Drop-in Grill

I purchased this cover for my outdoor kitchen RCS grill. The grill is under a roof and protected from the elements. I wanted this cover to protect the stainless steel grill from dust, pollen, and bugs. We have really bad pollen in the spring and my grill looked bronze without the cover.

The fitment of the cover for the RCS grill was spot on and really covers grill well. Unfortunately, the material started to fray after the first month of use. The tie downs for the grill cover handles started to fray and for the price of this product I would expect it to last much longer than a month. (I also have a Char-Broil 4 Burner Stainless Steel Grill with Side Burner, that is protected by a $15 Walmart brand cover. That cover has lasted over a year with much more rigorous use and exposure to the elements. It seems like the quality of the Walmart cover is better than the RCS Cover).

The draw string locks are also flimsy and don't really lock the stings. When a strong wind blows through the kitchen area, the cover flies off of the grill. The only thing keeping the cover from flying away are the tie downs for the grill handle. I have to tie a knot to keep the draw string locks in place and untie the string when i need to use the grill. We use the grill about 3-4 times a week, which is a hassle.

Pro's:

Good fitment for the RCS grill

Covers and protects as expected

Con's:

Quality of material is substandard, fraying of material after 1 month of use

Draw string locks don't really lock in place to keep cover securely in place

Overall this cover does the job, but the quality of materials could be much better for the price of the cover. If I could find another cover that fits for this RCS grill I would try that out instead.
