I bought this for camping, so the collapsibility helps save packing space. There are not many collapsible chimneys out there, and the others are fairly expensive, so this was a pretty good deal. It works well and it's very large...you can put enough charcoal in it to cook for a family. If anything, it might be a little big for 1-2 people. The only disappointing thing is that the handle does not fold or collapse, preventing it from packing totally flat.
