I bought this to rotate a turned vessel on a lathe (to apply the varnish!). The rpm (3rpm) is too slow. Would be great for a shish-ka-bob, tho.

The first one we got had bent up edges like it had been smashed. The 2nd one looked fine from the outside but the inside is really scratched up and you can see really bad weld marks (which don't have to show). It is not insulated which is disappointing--and it sweats on the outside and leaks into our BBQ space. All in all, we have made it work--but it is not the best made ice chest we have seen.

I have the digital thermometers and such, but this has proven to be the best way to go! I purchased a couple of them and I had to grill 6 tri tips for a cater job which made it so simple and quick to check the temps on each of them quickly. Each one turned out perfect!

This is worth every penny. Digital ones are nice but if you're not looking to spend much and get a dinner cooked right then get this. I use it for meals I made in the slow cooker (even though it comes with a digital one) and with meals I bake or roast in the oven. I wouldn't recommend using this for the grill as the pointer take a minute to stop at the temperature your food is. And one minute on the grill can turn your expensive butterflied filet mignon from medium to well done. It's a good size and doesn't make huge holes in your food. I like the cover for it. I'm not a chef and don't wear an apron (anymore) so won't put it in a pocket, but if my little one got his hands on it I'd have a few moments to get it from him before he pulls it out and pokes himself with it. Why do moms have to think of the worst scenarios?

the tents are great replacements for my old ones, which, thanks to a combination of being left in the elements, and the extreme heat, had basically corroded away to nothing. These are almost exactly the same as the old ones, though they seem slightly shorter, as they don't comfortably cover the gap; it's possible for the tent to slide towards the back of the grill, at which point the front edge of the tent will slip of the ledge a little. It doesn't fall all the way down, due to the angle of the metal coming of the ledge, but it's a minor annoyance for someone as picky as me.

That said, if you place them just right, then never shift your grill around a bunch, you'll probably never know, and you'll be perfectly happy with these, at a fraction of the cost that the local store wanted for them.

bought this hoping it would fit my grill. i have a charmglow stainless steel jobbie, it's about 6 or 8 years old. got new burners, the 3 pack and took a chance on this one based on the fact that the other reviewer said they had to drill holes for it to work, the other oval type showing up when you search for charmglow thermometer does not have the two bolts made into it, this one does. just for other folks looking i took a couple of pictures and will try to attach them. but this is a perfect fit for my charmglow, time will tell the tale as to how it holds up. seems to be ok quality though

Replaced the factory thermometer on my gas grill...works great and appears accurate. Mounting was a little different than the original factory model so I had to drill some new holes but no big deal.

Not only was this rack a bargain, it is ideal for roasting oysters the correct way. The traditional method of tossing a host of oysters onto a hot metal sheet and covering with wet burlap is essentially another way of steaming. With this product, you can really "roast" the oyster. The oyster has a two-part shell. One side is flat and the other is humped. The oyster should be placed on this rack hump-side down. As the rack is placed on a heat source (grill for instance), the oyster will eventually open, leaving some of the brine surrounding the oyster. In essence the oyster cooks in its own "juice". With steaming, the oyster can take any position and the brine will leak out of many of them when they open. I bought three racks for rotation..one to fill with oysters ready to be roasted, another for roasting and another for serving. Stainless steel construction makes them quite durable and easy to clean. I have recommended this product to many grill masters.

They are long. The articulated index finger thumb combo makes it possible to pull pork. I reach right into my smoker to move meat, or lift it on to a platter. They wash up easy. If you're pulling a pork shoulder you might want to wear thin cotton gloves underneath to soak up sweat, because these gloves don't "breathe."

If you make beer-can chicken which I often do, you know spilling that hot liquid is easy and it soaks right into regular mitts and potholders. Problem resolved. Buy two of these gloves. Let's see: adding wood, adding coals, handling a charcoal chimney, changing grill configuration, rotating meat... and when mixing gallons of sauce or cole slaw, or brining meats in a big cooler, you can reach right in there.

I bought it for because it said it was rated to 500 degrees. I bake bread at 450 degrees. Pots are still too hot through the mitt. It's much too large and awkward. Considering its cost, it should at least protect from the heat.

I think these gloves are very useful and get the job done. They are, however, bulky and clunky. My wife isn't a big fan since she has little hands. Overall, they work well. I've only experienced one or two times that the heat from whatever I'm pulling from the oven starts to bleed through. Not to a level that required me to put it down though. Definitely recommend them if you have bigger hands.

I can't understand the favorable reviews for this item. The stand is sturdy but poorly designed. As another reviewer noted, it puts the grill at a range of heights starting at about 36" (too high) and going up to about 60" (ludicrously high). How is it remotely useful to put a grill five feet off the ground? I thought about trimming the tubing to make it shorter but even that wouldn't have put the grill low enough. Forget it.

I have owned several of these over the last decade and they are indeed chinsy, and they do require assembly. But for under $8.00, it is an excellent deal and here is why: It will produce great grilled food with that real charcoal taste that is so lacking from gas grills, and it will last several years and many hundreds of uses if you keep it from getting wet. It is made of rather thin steel that will eventually rust through to nothing, and water exposure will greatly accellerate this process. But again, what do you expect from under $8.00?

I just bought one of these cheap ($9.50) Chinese cast iron hibachis at a grocery store. My expectations for it were not high, so I'm quite pleased with my purchase since I'd been having trouble finding them. Mine didn't exactly match the picture on the box, but all the parts were there plus an extra nut and bolt. It was easy to assemble despite the somewhat misleading diagram and instructions. Perhaps the fact that I had used these things when I was a student made the assembly easy for me. The price was so low I can afford another one next year if need be but would rather get this one sealed against rust somehow. They DO tend to rust.

I just bought this hibachi for $4 and assembled it. It's my first time switching from a Webber, but I wanted something small for personal use so I don't have to fire up the big grill. At $4, it's a great deal, although it seems a little flimsy. If all goes well, I'll likely upgrade to something more substantial, like a castiron hibachi. Don't pay over $10 total (shipping included) for this thing.

I had originally destroyed my old grill racks on my Grill Master grill by a year of heavy use and poor maintenance. The cost of an original replacement grill grid would have cost me nearly $150 which was ridiculous because the whole grill cost only $200 brand new. I was so happy when I found this replacement for about $50 and it works great. So far I have used it about 20 times. The fit isn't 100% exact but it's close enough for the price probably about 1/32 of an inch too short (enough to allow the grid to move a little when installing).

The instructions show 3 different type of brackets for this rotisserie based on the type of grill but the package only comes with one type and that type didn't fit my grill (Charbroil 6 burner).

When I contacted the manufacture I was told to 'turn the motor upside down'. Seriously? Instead of supply adequate parts, they tell me to turn the motor 'upside down'...By the way, that didn't work either. It's a universal unit but they don't provide all the parts.

There isn't anything on their website or on Amazon that tells you this so BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Since my original review (see below), I have raised my rating from 1 to 3 stars.

Out of safety concerns I alerted Char-Broil about this review immediately after posting. One thing I can say for certain is the folks at Char-Broil take customer safety very seriously. They looked over this review along with the photos and also contacted me personally today in order to gather as much information as possible so their technicians could attempt to duplicate the hazard and rectify any problems.

During their inquiry, they wanted to ensure I had not used the Sear-Burner which is closest to the rotisserie motor box. I was informed that if that burner is used during pre-heat or any time during rotisserie cooking, that it could create enough heat to cause the melting malfunction that I experienced.

My response was that I had not used the Sear-Burner; but that even if I had, there is nothing in the Rotisserie Kit or Grill's manuals that instructs a customer not to do so. I went on to say that the manuals even state to pre-heat by initially turning burners too high for up to 20 minutes and then adjust gas to the necessary levels to ensure food is cooked inside to the recommended safe temperatures for eating.

I was informed that this type of malfunction has never been reported before and they were very concerned. Hopefully their diligence towards investigating the matter will lead to a re-design of this unit or at least a re-write of their owner's manuals when using the rotisserie kit with larger grills at higher temperatures.

Either way, Char-Broil gets a big thumbs-up and two more stars for their expeditious customer-care and safety concerns.

Do not buy. On first use the motor case housing, which is all made of plastic, melted to pieces during grill pre-heating. See posted pictures.

Here's the back-story: I had just received my new Char-Broil grill for my birthday. After grilling with it for a couple of weeks, I liked it so much that I decided it was time to take it up a notch and add an electric rotisserie rod kit for slow grilling.

My research for purchasing the correct length of rotisserie spit rod revealed my grill to be one of the largest made. So even though I found better made (and more expensive) rotisserie kits, I was limited in choice based on my larger grill size.

To spare me the headache, I finally contacted Char-Broil who specifically directed me to the only kit that would accommodate my grill size. That kit being the aforementioned "Char-Broil Premium Kit with 6-Burner Electric Rotisserie". This has a 48 inch spit rod which is long enough for my specific grill. I suppose I also felt more confident in purchasing it because it's by Char-Broil and I wanted all my components to be of the same brand to ensure easy and proper installation.

I found this kit to be reasonably priced based on the specifications and liked the fact that it is a "one piece" spit rod. This is important because I'd read other reviews where the "two piece" rods come apart for easier storage, but can also bend or break under heavier weighted foods. Initially the only apparent negative was that this kit does not include an adjustable weight which is useful for counter-balancing odd shaped foods for smooth rotation.

The kit shipped quickly (as always from awesome Amazon). Everything installed quite smoothly per instructions. The unit operated properly during a dry test run. However, on the day of actual use I started pre-heating the grill and with the assistance of my wife, went inside to load 2 whole chickens on the spit rod.

Eager to get grilling, my wife and I carried our beautifully mounted chickens to the grill and began to install the spit rod ends, but were perplexed to discover we had nothing to push the drive end of the rod into. It took us a second to realize the entire motor case had melted out of the mounting screws and was just lying on the side of the grill. This was very dangerous because all the internal wiring was exposed and the motor rotation lug had fallen out.

Awesome Amazon authorized a free return label and full refund because it was still less than 30 days since the purchase. So now I must begin a new quest to find a better kit that can still accommodate my large grill. This time around I will be looking for one with a motor housing case made of all metal.

If anyone has a recommendation, please leave a comment.

It was easy to install on my 6 burner charbroil. So far we have done a store bought chicken and a pork loin. We used a probe to determine doneness and accidentaly got the pork loin up to almost 200°. The chicken and the pork loin were both tender and moist in spite of the high temp on the loin. Great item.

I got this steak iron a while back and I must say we've loved it, we use it nearly everytime we have a party and cookout. I'm not sure how that guy who posted an earlier review managed to melt his, but it sounds like he must have had it over something other than a standard flame or left it directly in the fire for a really, really long time as this thing is made of metal... Following the instructions that came with this branding iron; this branding iron would've been awesome if only the letter hadn't MELTED while it was being heated to sear BBQ steaks. It comes with alot of letters and it's easy to assemble a message; but appenently the letters are made of a cheap alloy that MELTS when being heated to a temperature hot enough to brand steaks. A disappointing product. 2 stars for concept; but doesn't stand up to the heat.

I was looking for a way to cold smoke in my primo grill for years. Finally stumbled upon this device and was not disappointed. It has adapters for a round hole as well as square air intake that fits perfectly in my primo xl. Cold smoking takes a while, so patience is a virtue, as they say... Cold smoked salmon came out perfect though after smoking it for 7 hours per instructions. I'm used to cold smoke using long air ducts run through the ground for cooling. This equipment saves you from this trouble since it produces ambient temperature smoke right away. You've got to feed this thing small hot coals and wood chips from time to time.

Very please with the purchase. Construction is solid in major parts. Good buy. Getting one for my friend's birthday as well...

Cheap Brinkmann 812-1092-S Universal Grill Cover, 55-Inch

For $12.99, this cover could not be a better deal for our mid-sized grill. Seems fairly durable and unlikely to tear, but I would make sure the grill is not hot before covering it. The grill stays dry even in the wettest of weather, and I think it would protect the grill through the winter snow we get in the Northeast.

It said the shipping would take a long time, but the cover arrived in two days.

I just received this grill cover. It is by no means HEAVY DUTY. It is, however, adequate for my needs with one additional step I had to take.

My grill has a round vent on the top and the thin plastic would have been sliced right through had I not added some padding between the vent grill and the grill cover.

For the price I'm happy; you get what you pay for, but just be aware that if you have any sharp areas on top of your grill, you will need to pad them so that the thin plastic doesn't get cut through.

This cover tore literally the SECOND I put it on the grill. Then, once torn, split all the way down the side. It is extremely, extremely weak. I don't expect the cheapest cover on Amazon to be the best quality, but I do expect it to actually be able to cover a grill.
