I ordered this a month ago or so. It came in and I assembled it that day. I figured out how to assemble it fine... other reviewers of this product on other sites said they had a hard time assembling it, so I was pleased to get over that hurdle. I put a fresh tank of propane on it and fired it up. No issues. Seemed to work great. I test ran it for about 10 minutes to burn off the coatings that are part of the heating element, then shut it down.

On another occasion very shortly thereafter I fired it up to test it and see how effective it was at making my deck more comfortable. Overall, the product did as I thought it would. It is effective within a few feet at turning a colder evening into one that is pleasant.

This weekend I had people over and we wanted to fire it up. This wasn't a test, but rather an actual use of the product. Totally could not get it to work. Pilot will not stay lit, no matter what. When it does stay lit, it will puff out within minutes. I once got it to trigger the main burner, but then it went out. Totally frustrating. This thing is brand new!!

I used this for several months infrequently, and then found all of a sudden that it wouldn't stay lit. I did some troubleshooting and learned that it would stay lit if I held the flame from a propane fireplace starter under the thermocouple that is heated by the pilot light. I don't know if the problem is a failing thermocouple or a less than optimum heat pilot light flame; but whatever this shouldn't have happened with a heater that was still on it's first tank of gas !!!

I'll eventually find some time to contact Customer Service and see what needs to be replaced.

UPDATE: I found the time to repair this heater. I started with the assumption (thanks to the other reviewer) that the pilot light wasn't keeping the thermocouple hot enough. When I dis-assembled the pilot light assembly, I found crud in the air collection chamber. I cleaned out the crud (and just for the heck of it soaked the pilot light "bead" regulator in auto fuel injector cleaner), and now the heater works just like the day I bought it.

Because the heater is very well built and easy to disassemble and repair; I'm bumping my rating from 2 stars to 4.

My dad had me order this on a whim. We wanted an outdoor heater so we could sit outside at night and all enjoy a glass of wine. Has worked great so far! As far as I know there were not set up problems...seems to have gotten put together fine. We bought this one because where we live we have a lot of wind and this thing holds up. The wind has ripped the shingles of my roof off but this thing has stayed in place. Love it!

Overall, the Endless Summer 233000 Outdoor Heater is a well designed and manufactured product. Assembly instructions are very clear, and with basic tools, can be assembled in about an hour. The "commercial" rating of this heater is evident in the quality of material, and the manufacturing workmanship. Follow the directions for igniting the heater, particularly when installing a new tank of propane. The heater worked perfectly for the first tank of gas, giving off a very even, comfortable circle of heat of about 12 feet in diameter. When used at a medium setting, the 20lb. propane tank lasts about 8-10 hours. When a second tank of propane was installed, a frustrating problem occurred. The heater ignited O.K. but would shut off after about a minute. Suspecting a bad tank of gas, I changed it for another tank, but got the same result. After several hours of diagnosing the problem, I discovered that there is a thermocouple near the pilot light that is heated by part of the pilot light flame. If the thermocouple does not "sense" enough heat from the pilot flame, it will shut off the heater for safety. Sure enough, the pilot flame was burning yellow, not blue, and the yellow flame is not hot enough to keep the thermocouple energized. A simple cleaning of the pilot assembly cured the problem. Some bugs decided to make the small orifice where the pilot flame emits from their home. the debris left by the bugs was enough to affect the pilot flame quality to prevent the heater from functioning. Note: since my original post of this review. I have had the same problem at least two more times, including a complete blockage of the pilot by those nasty bugs! Once cleaned using fine wire and compressed air, the heater works perfectly. Plan on ordering a second unit this year (2011) and buying some bug spray too!

I got this product during a Woot promotion and was very happy with it for about a year until it started reporting the wrong temperature, such as telling me that my kitchen was 135 degrees Fahrenheit (it is not). Apparently, the probe and its metal braid cable cannot be submerged, which I frequently do during cooking and when cleaning up afterward. Googling for a way to re-calibrate my unit, I found out that this is a common problem with this style of thermometer (not just this model), and that when it happens, it can be fixed!

Just put the probe in the oven at 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes to reset it to perfect working condition. This will evaporate off any water that is shorting out the probe from the inside. It works great again! No need to buy a new probe or a whole new thermometer.

I purchased my AcuRite 03168 Thermometer about 3 years ago, and have used it about 30-40 times since in both the kitchen oven and in an outdoor smoker/grill. I've been highly satisfied with the results, as it's finally allowed me to accurately cook beef and pork roasts and large poultry to the desired level of doneness. The pager has proven to be a significant feature, as it allowed me to put my attention on other parts of a meal (or even other chores around the house) without fear of losing track of what's going on in the oven or grill.

Last night, though, the probe failed part-way through grilling a roast--yep, the dreaded HH failure. I wasn't aware of this issue until I scanned the Amazon reviews, so it caught me a bit off-guard. It was a bit disappointing to have what still felt like a new tool fail on me, particularly as I had always carefully cleaned and stored the probe as designed. I wasn't that thrilled to find that a replacement probe from the manufacturer cost $10 (including shipping), either.

So why is this a 4-star review? After looking at the big picture, I realized the following:

* I bought an inexpensive tool with a 1-year warranty that lasted me at least a full 3 years without a problem. Considering the lack of longevity built into the cheap electronic devices nowadays, that's about as good as I can reasonably expect.

* The probe and wire are detachable; as they are the single most likely point of failure in the system, this makes sense--the probe and wire are exposed to extremely high temperatures. If they hadn't been so easily replaceable, then I'd really have something to gripe about.

* With a replacement cost of the probe of $10 and an original price of $28, comparing this unit to the next-least-expensive cooking thermometer with a remote feature at $60 (the Maverick ET732; it has a large remote receiver, not a small, wearable pager; the latter makes more sense to me) means that I can afford to replace the probe 3 times before I break even--and that assumes that the probe on that $58 unit lasts as long as 4 probes on this one. Since the probes on the two units look identical (and that's true of almost every unit sold on Amazon in this price range; I wouldn't be surprised if they're all made by the same Chinese manufacturer), it's likely that the other unit's probe won't make it any longer than the probe on the AcuRite did. I'm probably still coming out ahead, even if I had to replace a probe every year (which I probably won't, since I don't use the thermometer that frequently).

So if you're cooking/grilling every week and want a thermometer that will last you several years without any failures or need for replacement parts, then by all means look for something that costs 4-5x what this unit does--it *may* be worth it to you (but I'd still recommend that you take a close look at the probe and wire assembly, to see if it looks any better that what comes with the AcuRite). For me, this thermometer makes sense, even if I do have to consider the probe to be a consumable item that's going to need occasional replacement. Over time, I'm still going to have saved money and enjoyed the benefits of cooking to temperature rather than by time.

I like many others had problems with the probe early when I owned this. I emailed the company and they sent me 2 new probes for free without any question(only asked for 1). I have taken care of the probe since I got the replacement and it works fantastic. DO NOT get the probe wet where the cord plugs into the probe or it will ruin the probe. DO NOT use the spot on the back of the device to store the probe. You have to wrap it too tight and it causes the cord to pull out of the probe. Follow these simple instructions and it will give you many years of enjoyment. If your probe is bad call or email the company they were very helpful.

I am amazed at the price to quality ratio for baskets made from wood or other natural product. The Longeberger baskets especially seem especially high priced, but if you look at this basket at a relatively reasonable price, it seems the price scale is uniform across the market. While this costs about 3/5 to 1/3 of a small Longaberger basket, it is also made of thinner stock, and it seems to be fastened with somewhat less robust fasteners. That does not mean this will not do the job. It will, as long as it is treated carefully, and perhaps brought out on special occasions. I fear it would not survive in a communal setting such as a church, where people will not look closely at how an item is constructed before loading stuff on top of it.

The basket's decorative value is top notch. It is obvious that it is made of natural wood, which is why I got it. I might even be reluctant to use it to serve. Rather, I might use it as part of a centerpiece. If you want something which will survive the joustling of a busy kitchen and pantry, check out Longaberger. Note that unlike some bread baskets, this does not come with a warming tile. Given the odd shape, I wish it did. (Longaberger doesn't either.)

I ordered this grill light for my husband for Christmas and when he opened it it didn't work. I called the vendor(not Amazon) and they had a return form emailed to me. I immediately filled it out and had been assured I would hear something that same day. I never heard anything and when I called no one picked up. I contacted Amazon and they couldn't get in touch with them either but immediately shipped another similar product to me. I used these planks last week on a frozen salmon fillet. I don't usually prefer frozen salmon. Fresh is the only way to go. So I grilled it on one of these cedar grilling planks. I followed the directions that are stamped right into the plank and soaked it for a couple of hours. While the plank was soaking I marinated my salmon in Italian Dressing. The salmon seems to cook more quickly on the planks so don't overcook it. The cedar smoke filled the grill and created a fantastic flavor throughout even frozen salmon. This is good stuff!

It is great to have the extra work space to place cooking utensils, spices etc. while cooking on my Expedition 2X. As an added bonus it acts as a cover for the stove when not in used.

My only complaint is the 'stops' should be ~ 3/16" higher because when the shelfs are in the open position they are not parallel with the stove top, slanting toward the outside. Not a big problem but easily could have been avoided. I added two rubber 'bumpers' to fix.

Ordered theses shelves to go along with a Camp Chef stove that I received for Christmas. The online description and reviews for these shelves were very good, but I was still somewhat skeptical when placing the order. I have to say that Camp Chef exceeded my expectations. The shelves come with two side bars that are installed on each end of the stove in order to provide support for any weight that may be placed on the shelves. This makes the shelves very stable and durable. I also was impressed with the powder coat type finish on the shelves. I expect the finish will be very scratch and rust resistant. When not in use Camp Chef has designed the shelves to fold inward to provide a hard surface cover for the stove which will keep dust and water out of the stove burners. Great design, great fit and finish. I have no problem rating this product 5 stars.

The photos really only show two pieces: the two red shelves. There are actually four pieces, as noted by another reviewer. There are two thick iron loops that bolt to the stove that form the supports for the shelves. I have posted a couple of photos that show these brackets (and shelves) mounted to a Browning Buckmark II (Expedition 2X) stove.

If you look at your compatible stove, you'll find two holes in each corner: one on the vertical face facing either toward the front or the back, depending on the corner (the shelves will attach here). The other hole will be on the horizontal plane. This hole is where the support bracket mounts. Again, see the uploated photos of this support bracket.

So, it's a very sturdy mount.

Echoing another review, the shelves are powder coated red. It's not a glossy, fragile red. It's a matte, slightly roughed powder finish. There are friction tabs on the ends of the shelves which pinch around the stove top when closed. It's a very tight fit ... the shelves will NOT accidentally open. Ever.

So, 30-40 may seem like a lot for a couple of flimsy shelves, but they are far from flimsy, there's a lot of metal involved, and it's well thought out.

As noted, the shelves are not perfectly level. They angle slightly down, away from the stove. This may be intentional -safety so that nothing slides into the burner. Not sure. Either way, it's fairly slight, so either live with it or shim it with bumpers or something.

One note. The best price I've found was at Sportsmen's Warehouse for 31.

Grilled some haddock on these planks and they came out great -my only issue is that while other planks on amazon state they can be reused, these ones do not.. I assumed they were reusable though because they didn't say "one time use" so I bought them based on what I had read on the other products. Once I received the packaging states one time use disposable planks meaning they pretty much cost the same as the haddock I put on them! So beware if you are looking for a hardy reusable plank as there are others similarly priced on amazon that say reusable.

There is no such legal definition of wood.

I have one of these huge stainless steel gas grills from Kenmore. Thing will probably last forever, but the weak link is these burners. They are cast iron and they rot out after about 2 years. The burners have been going up in price at Sears every year. This year when I called they wanted $75 per burner! I needed to replace 4 this year so that would be $300 + tax + shipping. These burners from amazon were roughly $100 and from what I can tell they are the same identical burners. Got them relatively quickly. Nice deal!

Not sure why Amazon search takes you to the wrong burner for the Kenmore 141.16681 4 Burner grill but this item fits and works correctly as the replacement part for the 141.16681 Grill.

My wallet was crying tears having to pay to replace these in my grill. I used a whole bottle of CLR to try to clear the rust from my 8 year old Kenmore burners and got them back to about 80% and was going to be happy with that until I found these. Then my wallet said that I could buy all 4 burners from Music City Metals for less than 1 burner from Sears.

So I bought 1 burner to make sure it would fit and work the same. And it did. And I am so happy with my new burner and all the money I saved.

Considering the Sears buying option is 420% more than the same item Music City Metals is a great deal being they ship fast and it is the same item.

By same there is about a 1/16 to 1/32 of an inch difference in length of the top oval part but that could be from the sand casting and does not affect burning of the gas.

Best surprise was that the Music City Metals product even includes the "Cotter" pin to lock it in place too.

Did I mention they shipped fast?

These things are awesome. I like to grill salmon fillets, but I have trouble taking them off the grill without them breaking to pieces. Plus the skin sticks to the grill or whatever (i.e. foil) I put it on. With these, I can just pull the whole thing off and take it in the house. Then you can remove the fish and leave the skin on the grill topper and just throw the whole mess away.

We use these grilling sheets several times a week and they work great. We spray them with Pam and even reuse them a couple of times. We do put them in the sink and cover with water right after use to help with the cleanup. As long as you get the major gook off they are perfectly reusable. We also cut them down when needing just a small section for less food. Not a cinch to cut sometimes we'll cut several at once with a saw.

Shipping was great. Buyer should be aware that disc is totally flat and is cut out of 1/8" steel. My application (modifying an ECB el cheapo brinkman vertical smoker) required a convex contour for proper fitment. So I spent a fair bit of time pounding on the backside of the disc with mallet to get a shape that worked for me. After shaping and painting with black heat paint the part is great. It may be easier and cheaper to find comparable aluminum disc's as an alternative.

This is a very nice BBQ Tool set. It is just as described. All pieces are full tang stainless steel and have a very sturdy feel. I like that the silicone basting brush head is removable for cleaning. The tongs are heavy and take getting used to but everything is very good quality. I looked in the stores before purchasing as well as other similar items here on Amazon and other sites and this is the best I've seen for this price. In one store the Weber tool set with only three pieces cost more. I highly reccommend.

It fell in the safe range for chicken, and the legs were cooked perfectly. Not only does it give you a temp reading, but it also has a stacking readout below the actual temp which ranges top to bottom as follows: FROZEN--under 40*f food very cold

THAW----40* to 129.9*f " cold to warm

RARE----121* to 129.9*f " approaching rare

MEDIUM--130* to 138.9*f " approaching medium

WELL----139* to 173.9*f " approaching well

COOKED--174* to 239*f Pork or poultry is cooked

On the fork itself it displays the temp on top, and then it will rise up to whichever level from frozen to cooked is applicable. The degrees and explanations I have listed next to the levels above do not appear on the fork, but are a guide that is in the booklet.My chicken registered at 182*f and the level "cooked" in the display window.

The real test for me, will be cooking a thick steak to medium. Medium rare steak is my bbq nemesis. Often I either fall just short or go the other direction and overcook it, so that was the main reason I decided to try this out. I also just love all kinds of gadgets, and the price couldn't be beat. I believe there are newer versions of this Maverick, but as a first time trial, I thought I'd stay on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Other forks' reviews seem to be hit or miss, up and down, so if I'm going to take a chancelet it be a cheaper one. So far I am pleased. I'll report back as soon as I grill that steak which will be in the next few days.

***so I've had the chance to grill some steaks and so far, it's been doing a good job. The redings have been accurate and I've made steaks that are true medium rare.

Havent used it much but am disappointed that it uses special batteries. That could cost a bunch depending on how fast it eats them.
