Cheap Marsh Allen Grill-It-Kit 30103 14-Inch Tabletop Charcoal Grill
With my electric oven, broiling meat is not an option ... it comes out in an almost 'stewed' state and is very unappitizing. Because of space limitations, I purchased this table-top grill ~ which I've used 3 times so far and I love it !! For the purpose of easier cleaning and charcoal residue disposal, I line the bottom section of the unit with heavy-duty aluminum foil. Once the 'ashes' have cooled, I simply remove the foil, close it up and dispose ... and aside from washing the grilling grid, there is no need for further cleaning.

Mr Bar B Q 06136 Jalapeno Cooker Review
Get started cooker. The only problem is you'll get addicted and want a larger one. Was a great value bought four got one free.
The price was right with free shipping and the quantity it could hold was a perfect number.
The item arrived today (after a longer then usual wait for something from Amazon) and I was happy at first.
The metal is thin, and the legs dont lock in. Thats fine for me, as its a pepper stand and once on the grill it's not going to be moved around much. The tray itself doesnt seam flimsy and is thin but again thats OK because I want the smoke & heat to cook the pepper not the metal.
Here's the downside, and a huge one. The ports are not so much small but cant handle a larger pepper. I went to do a line up with some fresh picked ones from my planters, and they dont fit.
For now its hanging on the wall because it does look nice, but if youre peppers are more then say 2 inches, it wont work.
It is disapointing but I'm looking at other pepper stands and can see the same issue with those too. I grow mine to be about 3 to 4.5 inches so its a wash, unless I start picking earlier, or make a device on my own.
For the price I really cant complain, just know what youre buying

Love the look of this. However, the legs, underneath, fold in and do so with way too much ease once you load this (and, it is HARD to get the Jalapenos to stand up unless they're the PERFECT size for these holes) and try to move it the legs will start their own dance one folding up and the other down etc. It's a nightmare and will irritate the hell out of you. There are less cute, but better designed products out there.Honest reviews on Mr Bar B Q 06136 Jalapeno Cooker

This is great, it holds peppers upright and tightly together. Core and fill with cream cheese and some bacon and cook away. For larger peppers I have found if I put toothpicks threw them and pin them to each other they dont fall off. Great Item and I have used twice every weekend since I got it and it is holding up nicely.Monday, December 15, 2014

This hard to find grate replacement works perfectly in my aging gas grill
Everything is good as new
Service was superb
Unfortunately this Music City Metals replacement grate is 13 1/2" deep, and that extra 1/4"
prevents it from properly seating on the grate ledges; instead, it lays along the side of
the grill body way above the ledges, making the grate un-level.
I believed the description where it states that it will fit a D3.
Perhaps later era D3's have a slightly wider body, but all I know is that it definitely does not
fit my D3. I'm probably going to return this and buy the genuine Broilmaster part.

I started off looking at the TEC Infrared grills at around the $4k price range, after a while, I found I could get a similar grill from Fire Magic, for less money, so was about to go that route. I sent an e-mail to the people at Shopper's Choice, and asked some questions about Infrared grills in general. What I found out was very interesting, and kept me from buying the wrong grill.
It turns out, almost all infrared grills are only good for one thing, cooking steaks, and usually rare to medium rare in taste. I do not like my meat still mooing, so that was out of the question. About the only infrared grill that would allow you to cook other foods, and use other doneness levels, would be the TEC. This is because the TEC version can get down to around 300 degrees, where most other infrared grills have a low temp of only about 500-600 degrees. So, if you only like cooking steaks, then an infrared grill is for you. Otherwise, one of the Fire Magic grills would be a good choice, as you can get both infrared and conventional gas burners, but there is still one drawback to that, over this Weber model. That is, that if you need conventional burners for whatever you are cooking, the grill space over the infrared burner is wasted, and cannot be used for anything else.
After much looking around, and reading reviews of Weber grills (including the one already here on this grill), I decided I wanted one of the Summit grills. I decided on the 470 model, because 4 main burners was more than enough for what I wanted to do, and our family isn't huge, so the added space probably wouldn't get used. The reason I picked the higher end 4 burner model, was because I wanted the sear station, to get the effect of the infrared burner, without having to devote an entire burner to it. In my opinion, the lighted knobs are kind of a waste, however, I haven't needed to use them. The grill out light is kind of cool, and I've actually used it a few times now with good results.
I ordered this grill online (not through Amazon), and it arrived on a pallet, within a heavy cardboard box. Almost all of the main unit was already assembled, leaving the wings, and a few other things to install. I think it took me less than an hour to assemble the entire unit, once I got it off the pallet. This grill is heavy, around 300-350lbs, so it is a lot easier if you have a couple people to get it out of the packaging.
I was really impressed with the quality of the parts. All of the burners, flame tamers, and grates are made out of stainless steel, so they should last the life of the grill (which I expect to be 20 years or more). One of the more cool features of this grill, is the smoker box. This is something that did not even come with the higher-end grills, until you stepped up to the $6k or more grills. The smoker box is all stainless steel, and has its own burner on the very right side of the grill. It takes up little grilling space, which is nice. I've used it several times, and it seems to work pretty well. Controlling the amount of smoke is as easy as turning a knob.
On to the cooking. This grill is fantastic at cooking. You get those perfect sear marks on everything you cook, and the flavor is outstanding. One thing I would point out here, is if you think you really know how to grill, get the cook book by Jamie Purviance, called Weber's Real Grilling (bought here on Amazon for less than $17, 75 reviews at 5 stars), and you will really learn how to grill. It is amazing some of the things I used to do to try and make things taste better, only to learn it was the wrong thing to do. A lot of people I have seen grilling, do it the WRONG way, so I'd highly recommend this book, not only does it teach you the proper technique, it has some fantastic recipes in it (not just meat, either--my wife and I are fans of the Barbecue Chicken Pizzas--yes, on the grill pizza, and the Apple Cake).
The grill is fantastic at everything so far. I have not tried the rotisserie yet, but everything else works really well. The burner lighting system is great, basically like using a flame thrower to light the burner, so you don't have to sit there and keep sparking the igniter all the time (oh, and the igniter is nice, it's built-in to the knob, you don't push another button or anything, just turn the knob to light, and hold it for a second or two, and you're good to go. This grill is capable of getting very HOT. The first time I used it to make a couple steaks, with the sear burner on, I burned all the hair off of my right hand, just opening the grill cover! I did the same thing a few weeks later, until I learned my lesson--get longer grilling tools! The knobs regulate well, and the burners seem to cook evenly.
Overall, I'm really impressed with this grill. I would buy it again, without a second thought. It sure beats the Patio Caddy I had, up until I got this one. This grill does seem to go through the gas a little faster, but then again, it has more than one burner... I ordered the Weber grill cover that goes with this grill last week, because I noticed that even under a covered porch, the grill does get pretty dirty.
Original 2008 Review:
I recently purchased this grill and had a huge cookout last weekend (18 people in all). I loved that it maintained the heat well enough for me to plan ahead and properly slow-cook and smoke the ribs at 225 and chicken at 350 and sirloin at 375 and sear the ribs when done. I would have never even considered trying that with my old $200 CharBroil grill (everything had a tendency to be burnt on the outside as the open flames in one big U were very hard to control).
With the Weber, as long as you properly pre-heat to get the flavorizer bars hot enough before grilling so that the drippings vaporize on contact (adding flavor to your meat) and the thick grill hot enough to singe the meat, it becomes a simple matter to cook your food to perfection. Everyone raved at how moist and tender the ribs and chicken where.
I was tempted to get the $999 Kirkland grill at Costco, however the searer took up too much precious grilling space and I had trouble seeing how the infrared gizmo was going to stay clean. Weber just adds a high-heat burner in the middle and thus it consumes no grill space. I have already made burgers dozens of times without once over-cooking them.
There are two covers available and both leak thru the vents. I chose the 9988 and put black duct tape over the vent in the back. Putting duct tape over the 7554's side vents would have looked tacky. The picture on the box for the 7554 does NOT show the vents.
Cleaning was much easier than my last grill... Just removed the 2 grates and the 10 flavorizer bars and the slide out drip tray and scrubbed them down in our concrete basement sink with a stainless steel scrubber and the grates are like new again (the flavorizer bars are a bit discolored, but that is fine).
I wish the burners were removable so I can more easily clean the area below the burners that direct the drippings into the removable drip pan.
It was a lot more expensive than I would have liked, but I could not find an alternative that I felt comfortable buying. I was so tired of making due with a cheap grill that I figure that on a per-use basis (since I will likely use it a lot more) weighted for properly cooked meat, that this grill, over the long term, will be cheaper than several cheaper grills being replaced every 5 years.
I could have saved money had I purchased the Weber first. Pocelain and cast iron grids burn out quickly. Weber has Stainless steel. The Weber ignitor system is superior to others. All parts that will eventually burn out are readily available, ie SS burners, SS angle iron, SS grid. The entire construction quality is superior. This grill will last a long time.
Of what value is superior constuction if the engineering for function is not also of superior quality? Weber does not disappoint. I have never had a gas grill be so functional. The center searing function is outstanding. The two burners furthest from the center are a necessity for the indirect heat needed for rotisserie grilling of chickens and roasts. It is amazing to put a roast on a grill, check it only 2 or 3 times in an hour and a half and have a perfectly cooked roast. Some products are engineered to produce a product as cheaply as possible; Weber engineered this grill to be as good as possible.
I have not yet found a compelling reason to use the infrared heating unit. I doubt I will use the smoking box either. Since I enjoy smoked food SO much, I purchased a seperate log burning smoker by David Klose from TX.
The initial set up of this grill is much easier than all others. The directions were well written by by knowledgable people. I called the Weber site because my magnetic doors would not stay close. The temperary plastic, on the botton of the frame to prevent damage during shipping, looked so good I thought it was meant to be permanent.
If you cannot afford it, buy a charcoal grill instead. I made a mistake by not buying this 30 years ago.
The delivery down our narrow 1000' driveway was smooth. Enjoy.
The searing station is a very nice feature, and we have changed the way we cook steaks compared to our old Weber Genesis grill. The flavor and texture of steaks are even better with this grill, which is impressive.
Overall, the grill is beautiful to look at and works as well as we had expected. Haven't gotten the weather to cooperate yet so we have not tried the rotisserie or side burner.

Update: 5 years after purchasing this, I have no regrets at all. I just got thru cleaning it and discovered that the reason it was getting less hot in the back was simply because some of the gas holes had become blocked. Cleaned these out as well and it is working like new. I seldom use the smoker and I have yet to use the rotisserie, but having that extra burner in the middle makes all the difference in the world in getting it hot enough to give burgers and steaks a good sear on the outside without overcooking the inside. I still love it. Not one part has yet broken or worn out so far. It is a well made machine.Original 2008 Review:

The unit is VERY heavy and well built... heed the instructions to have a couple of friends to help unpack it... it arrives mostly assembled in a heavy plastic pallet, and must be lifted straight up about six inches to remove the pallet, which really takes 3 people to do.The searing station is a very nice feature, and we have changed the way we cook steaks compared to our old Weber Genesis grill. This bag, from Camerons, is a great addition to your smoke and fold smoker. The regulator works fine so far. The previous reviewer is correct in that it is just the regulator and you will need to get fittings that match your situation. One caution in bundling this regulator with the flex that Amazon offers in putting products together section. The flex that they were showing to sell with the regulator will not attach to the regulator. The regulator input is 1/4" Female NPT. The flex hose they are trying to bundle with it is a 1/4" inverted flare. There is not a fitting that I was able to find to convert it to NPT. Make sure you order a 1/4" NPT hose if you are connecting it directly to a propane tank.

Took me 5 minutes to replace and test works great, I would recommend this for anyone needing to to repalce their regulator.Best Deals for Camco 59323 RV Horizontal Two Stage Propane Regulator
These are good replacement regulators and meet specifications. The models I received were without the blue cap used to access and adjust the unit with a manometer. I had to return my units to the factory and they were replaced by Camco with units with the removable blue cap that allows access. Expertise is required to make these adjustments to 11 or 12 inches of H2O but without access it is impossible for a professionaL to calibrate. These are good replacements for the original Marshall units which are no longer available. I found the replacement units worked well and met specs. Two are used in my Motorhome one for the coach and the other for the 6.5 KW propane generator. Both do a good jobHonest reviews on Camco 59323 RV Horizontal Two Stage Propane Regulator
I bought this because my existing regulator was nearing the 10-year age where replacement is recommended. I will save the former one as an emergency backup regulator and carry it with me. This is installed in a manner that allows changeout when camping. The former one was securely fastened with rivets and would not have been changeable without specialized tools one does not carry when traveling.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Camco 59323 RV Horizontal Two Stage Propane Regulator
I had an external propane bottle hooked up to my RV with a single stage regulator, but it wouldn't run the furnace and water heater at the same time. I switched to this two-stage unit and problem solved.Friday, July 11, 2014
Reviews of Oakland Living 8021AB Elite Chimenea Fire Pit Antique Bronze
This chimenea is tiny. It is almost doll-sized. I guess if all you need to keep you warm are a few twigs, this would be the chimenea for you because that is all that fits in it. I guess it is partly my fault for not paying closer attention to the dimensions. But I just don't know what you would use something this small for because it certainly can't put out enough heat to keep you warm. For the price this is a great chimenea. We got it several days early and have been using it every night. The instructions were basic and 3 of the screws were short, but it's very sturdy. We looked at others that were more expensive, this one is nicer than a few of those.

Review of Replacement Igniter Element / Hot Rod for All Traeger Grills

My Traeger grill started to pop the GFCI it was plugged into. I did the Traeger debug method (see their website Q&A) and found I needed to replace the Hot Rod. This worked perfectly. I went to Youtube for instructions on how to replace it (I recommend you do the same). One tip I found that was fantastic was to attach a spare wire (with tape for example) to the plug on the end of the old hot rod. As you pull it out, it will thread the spare wire through the path of the old hot rod wiring. When you're ready to put your new hot rod in, you attach the plug of the new hot rod to the spare wire and pull it out backwards and it easily comes through all of the holes in the body of the grill. I was able to replace my hot rod in about 15 minutes. Also, you only want to leave about 3/8 of an inch of the hot rod exposed. I've read the hot rod will last longer that way. I did that and it's worked great so far.
easy to remove and install no problems very happy with purchase

Buy Charcoal Companion Porcelain Wood Chips Smoker Box
It's not like I'm reviewing a television or stereo receiver. It's a metal box. So far it's not rusted, caught on fire, poked my eye out, attacked my family, or killed my house plants. As such, it meets all of my metal box requirements.
Definitely not for some one who thinks they are getting a smoker

I've only used them a few times, but these burners seem to be exactly what I got with the grill when it was new. They are hefty, fit perfectly, and burn evenly. The heat/intensity controls work fine with these burners, and I can easily use low heat all the way through a serious searing burn. Just what I was hoping for.

Living in an apartment in Brooklyn, space is always at a premium. For everything we buy, the question is always "where will we store it?" more than anything else. So when we were looking for a small, portable charcoal grill that we could bring out to Prospect Park.
I looked at Weber's Smokey Joe (which is the one we see others with most often) and Go-Anywhere, but decided that they wouldn't exactly slide into the closet easily. So I Googled for portable grills, and found mention of the Ecoque Portable Grill.
It does exactly as they claim:
It collapses down to store easily (I haven't measured to see that it's exactly one inch, but it's pretty close), but it puts together quickly and easily.
It uses less charcoal that you'd otherwise dump into a grill its size, and it heats up quickly to be ready to use.
When you're grilling, it cooks things well. We've done hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, veggie dogs and veggie burgers, and everything that came off it tasted great. It didn't have that huge smokey charcoal flavor you might get from other grills, I'm sure due to the lesser amount of briquettes, but it was good enough. I suspect in the future we'll play around with adding some flavored wood chips to the coals to improve the smokiness.
Once your coals go out, it also cools down quickly. I was sure that I'd have to let it sit for an hour to cool down before I could transport it back home, but within 5 minutes or so of getting the coals out (I used their optional foil liners), everything was perfectly cool to the touch and we threw it right back into the carrying bag.
Finally, cleanup. When I got back home, I scrubbed away at the cooking grate with a Dobie pad and some baking soda. It is perfectly clean? No. But this is a BBQ we're talking about, and there's always going to be charred food stuck to it.
All in all, the Ecoque is a really impressive portable grill. We got lots of looks and a bunch of questions using it out in the park, and we may have managed to convert a few people into future purchasers. Ours may be the first one I've ever seen in person, but something tells me that we'll be seeing more of them out and around soon.

I purchased this pillow to add a little pop of color for my new patio furniture. It's a great little pillow. I use it often under my elbow to hold my puppy's head up. Max likes the pillow to. No it is not a Pottery Barn pillow but I knew that when I bought it $$$$$. The price is right for what it meant for. The fabric resists moisture absorption which is good for keeping things tidy when entertaining.
I highly recommend this pillow set.
Summer is over and I am happy to report that the pillows look good as new. They live on a south-facing, sunny deck near the beach and have been subjected to heat, rain, and sandy elbows. They are still wonderful.

These sweet green lumbar pillows are the perfect punch of color on my patio. I accidentally ordered four, (they come in pairs), but am keeping them all since I love them so much. It can't hurt to have a few extra pillows kicking around, can it? They are cheerful and the color is exactly as pictured.Summer is over and I am happy to report that the pillows look good as new.
