I ordered, received in perfect condition the ordered item. It was described as heavy-duty, weather-resistant, polyester, but the item is actually vinyl, and thin and light. I generally would just go to Lowes but since Lowes does not carry model 4000 grill, they do not have the cover. I saw the cover for the duo grill and it appears to be thicker material.

I don't want the thinner vinyl cover because it will last only one year or so, based on my experience in the past of similar material. I live in southern California where it is debatable whether I really need a thin vinyl cover to protect this heavy steel grill. Thankfully I got it from Amazon. This is the first time ever I had to return through Amazon and the return process is like a breath of fresh air.

The factory (Chargriller) customer service informed me that the newer covers are made with heavier material. They don't know when those will be available for model 4000 gas grill. I guess I will have to wait or just keep the grill exposed and clean often.

I never even opened the bag so I do not know if there is a string at the bottom to hold the cover from wind or not. I do hope the future ones will have it.

I purchased this grill cover in July of 2011 and used it outside for about 3 months. The color immediately faded within a few weeks of being out in the sun. I stored the grill with the cover on it in my garage over the winter. When I brought it back out in June 2012 it started falling apart, the fabric is shredded in some places and the seams are falling apart. If you are only looking for a grill cover for one summer then this would be great, but most consumers expect things to last longer than that. In total the cover was used outside for about 8 months total, and is useless at this point.

This grill cover works fine. My grill sits exposed on my deck, when we get windy weather the cover blows off the grill (it is not fitted in any way). I modified the cover by putting an elastic strap on the bottom to "close" the cover and still allow air flow. You could also just put some weights on the burner plates to keep it down, too. Would be a better product if it were fitted, however, the fix is fairly quick to make.

I bought one of these when I first bought my grill. Now maybe this one is different material or treatment. (at least I hope so) but the first one lasted less than two years and then literally fell apart. Now I am not gonna rate this one for issues with the first one I owned, but this one does not fit NEARLY as well. It's almost like they started making them "baggy style". Trust me the fit is not nearly as good as the picture. The first one I owned fit like a glove (just like the photo shows). Therefore I dropped it to four out of five stars.

So if this one starts to fade in less than six months like the first one did, you can believe I'm coming back to drop this review to 1 star.

I installed the parts easily. I closed the grill lid and came back a fews days later to cook something on the grill and found that edges of the grid were rusting! This is another example of products that should not be sourced in China.

This was a good investment for sure. I rate it high due to the ease of use..and the fact it's easy to clean as well. I drop it in the top to cook potatoes or use it as a double layer cooker for extra meat when cooking for company. It's worth the price and a must have for the Char-Broil. It turns the cooker from just that..a cooker...to an oven. Just an FYI...the top cooks faster than the bottom...so if you are cooking potatoes with your meat only give them about 1 hour cook time. Adding some seasoning to the outside is my method as the potatoes come out crispy.

The basket works in tandem with the basket insert for the Big Easy. By have multiples of this basket, you can stack veggies and cook an entire meal in the Big Easy. We especially love cooking potatoes in the basket, the skins are nice and tender and the inside is fluffy, yet moist.

The bunk bed basket is an awesome addition to your big easy turkey fryer. I bought 2 of them thinking they would both fit. The second doesn't really fit right, but it sits on top of the first ones handles. It does not fall, but its not exactly the most sturdy. It still allowed for the cooking to be great so that's really all I cared about and (like I said) it didn't fall (even when transporting the basket). I think it must be only designed for one additional bunk basket, but who cares it still works. I made pork back ribs and it came out great...2hours and the meat pretty much fell off the bone.

I live in Florida and grill A LOT!

I can not say any negatives about the brush, but what I can say is that I really want to buy new heads for them...

Bodum sells them, but they want $26 for 3 heads (including shipping) from their site.

The problem with this is that I was able to pick up my complete brushes for less than 1/2 that price including shipping...

As a result, I keep buying new brushes when they are on sale instead of fighting with a dirty brush just to replace the head...

One of the tabs on the first one I opened got bent in shipping and had the porcelain chipped off; but the other two were in excellent condition. Very happy with this purchase. I see that I could have saved another $3 on the purchase of these had I purchased the three pack; but didn't notice that option when I purchased them.

It's not that hard to build your own smoker, but you'd probably wind up spending about just as much money on the parts you'd need as you would if you just buy the Little Chief. I've had mine for about 10 years and have been very happy with it. This smoker is a true work horse.

A few tips: the recipe booklet that comes with this smoker is okay, but the brine recipe is WAY too salty for beef jerky (and even smoked fish). My recommendation is to buy 1-2 pounds beef tip (don't get any more than that with this particular smoker as you won't be able to fit more than 2 pounds on the grates--if you need to make bigger batches, either build a smokehouse or buy the Big Chief). Slice the meat thinly and brine it overnight in:

1qt cold water

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup kosher or sea salt

2 tsps garlic power

2 tsps coarse ground black pepper

In the morning, drain the brine, assemble the jerky on the grates, and briefly pat dry them. Do three rounds of wood smoke throughout the day (an alder/hickory combo is nice), leaving the rest of the time to just heat and air dry. You'll be really surprised by how flavorful this simple recipe is. All the recipes that call for loads of other ingredients (e.g., wine, soy sauce, etc.) don't add anything and are a waste of money.

I've had my smoker for over 10 years and it has traveled with me throughout that time while I've been in the military. It has worked exceptionally well everywhere I've used it whether in Oregon, Japan, or Okinawa. Frieds rave about the smoked salmon. The construction of this smoker has held up very well and the fact that it is all aluminum has prevented it from rusting away, unlike the three barbeque grills I've had to throw away in the same period.

This is a great little smoker for jerky or meats such as chicken and pork. Don't think you'll be able to smoke a tri-tip or whole chicken unless you set aside a lot time for smoking. It has trouble keeping proper heat so make sure you keep it out of the wind. My solution was simple for the heat loss. I bought a metal trash can and a couple of bricks. I arranged the bricks around the unit then placed the trash can over the unit and it kept the smoker at a consistent temperature for smoking. A word of caution when making jerky. Don't take any to work unless you want your friends harassing you for more, more, more! No lie! :)

I rate this product as medium, since it was no better or no worse than the very economic price it came with. It is a little difficult to use when it comes to the lower closures though. We couldn't access any reasonable way to use them, but since rain doesn't ususally fall up (we're near Seattle) we decides it wasn't a big enough deal to bother with returning the product. I don't think that it was as good quality as the other cover (for stacking chairs) that I purchased at the same time.

Ad said the grates were 18". You need to go into the item description to find out the real size. I just looked at the primary ad and purchased the grates. When the grates arrived and were measured they were 12.5". Company would not pay to return them, or refund any shipping charges. Actually, the grates were for an 18" barbecue and not 18" themselves. Company was willing to take them back, but it would have cost me almost $20.00 in shipping charges and nothing to show for it.

Well, that is exactly what you get with Coshell charcoal briquettes, an environmentallyfriendly alternative to ordinary charcoal. This product claims to burn longer and hotter than regular charcoal and since it is allnatural, it produces less waste and the leftovers can even be used as fertilizer.

Given the lofty claims and uniqueness of this product, I was anxious to give it a try. Opening the bag, my first impression was mixed. The briquettes are more evenly shaped and smoother than ordinary charcoal, but I noticed that they were quite dirty, leaving a black, powdery coating on the hands. Oh wellat least they look good. So far, the product seems acceptable.

Now, it was time for the real test: lighting the briquettes on fire and using them to cook some burgers and steaks. I noticed that the product took a little longer to catch fire, but once it was caught, the briquettes slowly turned gray in color and they held their heat for a good long time. Of all the positive qualities during the heating and cooking process, the one I remember best is the cleanliness of this product. It doesn't produce much smoke and it imparts almost no taste on the food.

If there is anything negative to say about this product (aside from the initial handling), it would be the fact that coconut shells do not accomplish much in the way of adding flavor to the food. Like I said, they impart almost no taste difference due to their cleanliness and while this will be considered an asset to some, others will immediately give this product a failing grade because they will want to taste mesquite or at least some smokiness in their food. You don't get any added flavor benefits, so it is almost like cooking on a stovetop.

Coconut shell briquettes are an interesting concept and this product is certainly an unusual one. I like that it is more environmentallyfriendly than ordinary charcoal and I like knowing that there is no landfill waste to worry about. The powdery mess is an annoyance, but I still like this product overall and I consider it one worth trying.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm more of a fan of gas-fired BBQ (heresy, I know for the BBQ purists) or electric (smoking). When I do go for the traditional coal, I usually use hardwood briquettes since I don't care for the way regular briquettes make the food taste.

These coconut shell briquettes were a nice change. They did take a bit longer to catch than regular briquettes (used a chimney-type device to get them lit) but once they got started they burned evenly. Best of all, no taste impact nice and clean. The manufacturer claims they burn hotter and longer, but I didn't notice a huge difference. A bit longer, perhaps, but the heat seems to be no different. That's just my impression, however didn't do any side-by-side tests.

While they burn clean, they are not clean when it comes to handling them. Lots of black soot comes off on your hands, and quite a bit of messy powder is in the bag, probably due to the bouncing about during shipping. Much messier than hardwood. The mess knocks the rating down a star.

While these won't convert me away from gas and electric, it is a viable alternative to hardwood charcoal.

After doing some research, I wanted to try coconut shell charcoal for my grill.

There were a few brands here on Amazon, I chose this one based on price. A few additional items in my cart snagged free shipping, so the investment was minimal.

I'm so glad I tried these briquettes. I hope you can see the video, it shows how they can be reused, even after hours of grill time.

They light well, my grill has a small propane starter, but I've also used a chimney.

Used alone, it is a very MILD char flavor, perfect for certain delicate foods. For heartier flavor, way better than store brand charcoal, a piece or two of soaked wood placed in the hot coals provides excellent results.

Soak the wood in water, adding a bit of beer (I use Guiness every so often) to the water is quite nice.

Why did no one think of this before??!! The angle to the brush lets you baste your food without burning your fingers, duh. Plus it reaches to the back of the grill and if you're cooking a big roast it's easier to get behind it. And I LOVE that you can put it in the dishwasher & don't have to worry about a wood handle or bristles burning and/or trapping bacteria my old brush always kindof gave me the heebie-jeebies, basting raw meat with it and then having to hand wash and air dry thoughts of salmonella were never too far from my mind. Definitely an improvement over standard brushes (which trap either too much or not enough sauce usually anyway this one picks up just the right amount.) The Grill Friends Silicone BBQ Brush works great, almost. Over the years I have used a variety of BBQ brushes and mops, some working better than others. Friends, and various articles, have sung the praises of using silicone brushes and mops, especially in regard to clean up. The clean up is fantastic and quick. The angle and length of the Grill Friends brush is good, although a little longer would be nice. My only negative observation is that a bristle brush provides better coverage and holds more sauce. Recognizing that this is the nature of the silicone beast, I really shouldn't gripe. I use it and like it, and feel it works well. I have recommended it to friends, so all-in-all, it's pretty darn good, and it's at a great price. How it holds up remains to be seen, but if you are looking for a silicone brush, you should consider this one.
