A good set of tongs is indispensable for pan frying or grilling of medium sized cuts, such as steaks or chops. You can get excellent control over the food while your hand stays cool near the back of the tongs.
These particular tongs have good points and bad points. They are well constructed of stainless steel, making them durable and easy to clean, and the locking mechanism works adequately. However, the 16 inch length is excessive for home use, and the unusually large opening angle, providing a gape of 12 inches, makes the tongs less than convenient to handle.

I like these tongs because the spring is very strong and the lock to close them is very easy to operate. I use these mainly for moving charcoal around on the grill. For that purpose, they work great.
