does not hold true heat and you must have some type of heat scanner or another true temp gauge to set it, if you have one that works what is the use for this one I wish they would take mine back

Very accurate and repeatable , perfect for your BBQ or Smoker, BUT the glow in the dark feature only glows for a few minutes and to recharge it you need a flashlight. The gauge was 100 degrees off we adjusted it and now it stay on 250 but there is no confidence that is the correct temp
