I love this grill! It took about three hours to assemble which didn't seem too bad. The majority of the time was spent unpacking all of the parts and laying them out before beginning the assembly process. The grill works great! I'm able to actually sear my steaks like they do in a high-end steak house. The side burner is also great. It has plenty of power to actually cook and boil water faster than my kitchen stove. I could not be happier with the performance and look of this grill.Best Deals for Char-Broil Classic 55,000 BTU 5-Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner
Let's face it folks. Grills this big aren't exactly cheap by an stretch. The difference between what you want and what you need in a grill can vary widely. Basically you want a grill that will grill. So after reviewing other more expensive yet seemingly identical grills, I settled on this one. I basically wanted a grill that would last at least 5 years and had relatively cheap replacement parts available. This is where the Char-broil shines. It gives you exactly what you need without breaking the bank.Upon bringing it home I unpackaged everything and layed all the parts out. Everything was included and no parts missing. Especially like the packaged nuts and bolts in bubble pack. No more hunting for the parts like previous years. This is awesome. So it took about 2-3 hours to assemble going slow using a Phillips bit on a power drill. Set the chuck to #4 and screwed everything together as the direction explicitly showed. Instructions are in English and Spanish and very well thought out.
The grill was less than $300 and I will never pay more for a four burner. No grill lasts forever. Any replacement part for a grill is going to be expensive. But the Charbroil parts are not expensive. Just go to their website and see for yourself.
A cool and well thought out feature of this grill is the modular aspects of the parts. Everything is easily replaceable and it's own part and is not fused or soldered to any other part. This and price are really the ultimate reasons I bought this grill. For instance on my now-defunct Amana grill I got from Target 5 years ago the burners burnt out. These burners are sold in a dual side-by-side configuration. And the flame carryover tube is soldered to both burners! Not a very nice design. It would cost $100 just to replace one burnt through burner with the soldered on carryover tube. Also, the igniters on some grills are difficult to replace and require replacing other parts due to the fact that they rust together and require destroying other parts to replace just that part.
The burners have a 5 year warranty. This is a big + in my book since most grills don't last as long being outside all the time. Even when covered. This grill is a great bang for buck.
The negative reviews posted here seem to be based on either ignorance or stupidity. These people obviously don't know what they are doing either putting it together or taking care of it. It took me 2 hours to put together. One person said it took him 6 hours to put together! Yeah right, like I am going to believe what he says. I wouldn't trust that his grill was put together right. I will amend this review after using it at the 1 and 2 year mark. So far I think it's a good deal. I don't see any parts on it that could go bad. But if you ever need replacement parts it's nice to know this company won't screw you over.
EDIT: Been using this grill for a month and let me tell you what. Those really good ribeye steaks we get at Costco never tasted so good. The grill heats evenly and cooks food with perfection. This is the best grill I have ever had. Very happy with purchase! Also we picked up the 65" Charbroil logo cover available at Wal-Mart.
