They work. Time will tell if they last. The originals lasted years. Removing a star because they don't come with new gaskets. I cut my own gaskets out of some fiberglass insulation material.Sunday, March 30, 2014
PayandPack 17" x 1" MBP 13001 (4-pack) Universal BBQ Barbeque Reviews
I've had my Great Outdoors Pinnacle grill for about 5 years and some parts have held up well while others have deteriorated into a rusty mess. The burners of the grill were one of the items that rusted out. This particular grill is pretty rare and the burners that are technically for it are about 4 times more expensive then these. I decided to give these burners a chance and I'm glad I did! They were exactly the right size/specs and fit right in place of the old ones. I did have to knock the little square plate off each one, but that doesn't affect performance at all and it was quick and easy to do. Also, there is not a place to mount the igniter units, but those stopped working years ago and I just use a long lighter. After installing the burners the grill fired right up and it's as good as new. These saved me from having to spend $200+ on a new grill and were a great deal compared to what other websites or retailers are charging.

I bought a new grill and wanted to make sure it was used properly. I don't like it when small pieces of food fall through, especially on gas grills, so I bought this. Well, on first use it stained so bad, despite my priming it, and worse, it warped. Hey, I can still use it. But it's kinda like wearing soiled clothes... won't feel as good.

If you want a piece of junk that will stain and warp, then this is for you! After 1 use this thing was uncleanable. Warps like you wouldn't believe while cooking, it does go back to original shape after it cools though.Best Deals for Mr Bar B Q 06032X Platinum Prestige Stainless Steel Grill Topper

The pan discolored quickly, but it works fine. It's heavy-duty enough not to warp when it gets really hot, unlike some other grill pans that I have used.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Mr Bar B Q 06032X Platinum Prestige Stainless Steel Grill Topper

If you're are cooking mainly burgers, steaks, and chicken you will not need this. However, for low and slow briskets and pork butts it is a must. Just put the meat on one side and leave the access hatch open on the other side. You will be able to quickly add fuel without losing a lot of heat. You can bbq a mean brisket in a weber if that is what you have to work with. This grate makes life so much easier for those long cook times.
It's rock solid steel, quite hefty for it's size I'd say. The hinges are well made and it's quite useful for long-term indirect cooking. Good for party BBQs as well, since you often run low on fuel cooking a lot of meat.
I only have one complaint and since it's not really a product failure, I'm giving 5 stars: The thing needs it's own box to ship in. Mine came in a 4'x3'x2' (1.3m x 1m x .7m) cardboard box with enough airbags to choke a dozen donkeys. Get a grip Weber and give this to your suppliers in a form fitted box so the environment doesn't have to suffer!
I have the One-Touch Silver, so I didn't get mine out of the box. I didn't even know this clever grate existed until right after my purchase. If you have the One-Touch Silver (or thinkin' about gettin one) then it's way worth your investment to grab one of these.
Here is how indirect cooking worked for me before this:
Do the usual, start the fire, coals ash over and then pile em up on the sides for indirect cooking. Well, i'm cookin' some ribs so this will take awhile... 45 mins to an hour pass by... crap it's time to replenish the coals. Now I have to take this burning hot grate off, hope my food doesn't fall off in the process, hope I don't accidently burn the dog, set this hellfire piece of metal in a safe place, once it's in that safe place (usually on the concrete slab I call a patio) I realize that I forgot to put the dog in the house so now i'm fightin' the dog with my foot as I try to replenish the coals. The dog grabs a slab of ribs and takes off so I have to chase him, meanwhile my food is still on the ground, the burning coals are still in the chimney starter so while I chase the dog he runs into my grill which causes my chimney starter to fall and coals go flying everywhere. The dog gets scared, drops the ribs in the mud and runs away, running over all my food with his muddy feet. I miss grabbing one hidden coal so the entire neighborhood goes up in flames.
Okay, that story is a bit far fetched and never actually happened, but the point is, it's much easier to just lift up the hinged sides and put the coals right into the kettle!
One last thing, outside of the hinges, the overall quality of this grate is much better then the standard one-touch silver grate. The bars are quite a bit thicker and are just a better quality. For some reason my grill marks are comin' out much nicer, too!
if you are even thinkin' about buying this... then BUY IT! I swear that you will be happy with your purchase.
For best results use the Weber Chimney starter to start your coals.

Well, not much to say about this item. It's obviously very functional and I'm left wondering why Weber doesn't just make this the defacto grate for all of it's kettles. It's rock solid steel, quite hefty for it's size I'd say. When I am cooking ribs or a chicken which can take a few hours, you definately will have to add fresh charcoal. The beauty of this grate is that you can add more fuel without removing the grate which puts you at risk for losing you food on the floor. Simply lift up one corner of the grate and add prelit coals. For best results use the Weber Chimney starter to start your coals.

What a fantastic idea Weber has with this new grill accessory. Before we purchased this grate in order to add charcoal my husband would take the tongs and have to lift out the entire grate resulting in burned fingers or burn marks on the deck railing where he would lay the hot thing. Now he simply flips up the hinges and adds the charcoal directly to the kettle. Thank you Weber.Reviews of Weber Charcoal Grate - Kettles

Just another review to help out my few fellow Weber Performer Weber 841001 22.5-Inch Performer Charcoal Grill with Touch-N-Go Propane Ignition, Black users out there. I ordered this to replace my OEM grate and it works perfectly. My original unit was warped from occasionally leaving the charcoal ignition gas burner on too long. That said, if you're handy, the original unit can be wire wheeled or media blasted clean, heated up with a torch and pounded back flat to a "like new" appearance. They make these out of some pretty tough stainless steel and they can take a beating. Now I have a new one and a functional spare just in case.Honest reviews on Weber Charcoal Grate - Kettles
I have a kettle weber that I have owned for over 20 years. The bars on the charcoal grates had gotten very thin with wear and were bent into a concave shape. I had no desire to spend the 80 plus dollars on a new weber since the kettle part of mine is still in great shape. The replacement grates were a perfect solution, they fit just as well as the originals and were a much cheaper solution. Now I am ready to continue using my weber for another 20 years!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Weber Charcoal Grate - Kettles
I bought this along with a Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5" to use in addition to the existing charcoal grate. It looks a bit different but feels of the same quality. It's a bit smaller than the stock grate and fits perfectly inside the charcoal chamber, rotated at an angle to help keep smaller lumps from falling through to the bottom.Saturday, March 29, 2014

I ordered this thermometer to indicate the temperature of an air duct from our oven to the fume hood over the stove. The thermometer needed to be calibrated and was adjusted with pliers on the hex nut holding the temperature probe and rotating the dial face. The only thing "wrong" with the thermometer is that the indicator needle was stamped crooked. One only notices that "defect" when looking for problems. It looks nice and more professional than the colorful dials. The price is great too!
Unfortunatly it would not work on my Brinkman smoker without a clamp to attach it to the opening.
Emailed seller and a prompt refund was given. A very fair and honest seller. They could however change the description to head off other buyers with my same smoker.
Thanks, Paul in Texas

Made in China as with all of these aftermarket dial thermometers. Mfg quality was o.k., arrived undamaged by US mail; sellers delivery was fine, albeit slow in comparison to Amazon prime. Problem is It says in the item description, need 1/4" hole. Turns out thats wrong and it would not go in the existing hole. My Jennair grill is predrilled and this was a replacement for the old Temp gage that died I compared this one to the original and it is clearly larger in diameter. I did not want to drill the lid to my grill and have to deal with the metal shavings etc. Turns out the Char-broil Universal temp guage from my local big-box hardware store fits, even though it is labelled "fits 3/8" hole" Interesting to ponder: if the 3/8" fits, why doesn't this 1/4" ( =2/8") unit fit? First off I want to say that Amazon was apparently listening to all the reviews regarding shipping damage on Broil King Grills. My grill arrived by shipping company on a pallet and there was barely a scuff on the box. No shipping damage whatsoever. Good going Amazon.
As for complaints about building difficulty, this grill is no more difficult to put together than other similar items. You will benefit by looking at all the directions first before beginning. That said, there are some tight spots with the screwdriver but overall it went together smoothly in about 2 hours (30 minutes of which was my fault for not looking closely enough at the instructions). Once together it is a solidly built grill and far studier than the most of the offerings at the big box stores. Build quality seems on par with the Weber Genesis and Summit but maybe not quite that heavy of a lid. This is probably because the Broil King is cast aluminum.
All burners light immediately and each burner has its own ignition so they can be lit independently of each other. The cast iron grates are heavy and seem solidly made. First grilling was steaks and they came out great. The grill gets HOT for a good sear on the steaks which is exactly what I was looking for. It gets hotter than any other grill I've used so this will take some getting used to but its great. Shrimp kabobs grilled nicely the next night at lower temperature. The control of the flame on each burner is great so far too. The included rotisserie burner and kit is a nice addition. Looking forward to firing that up soon. All in all I am very happy with this and look forward to a long time with it. Hard to go wrong at this price for what you get (the Weber Summit with rotisserie is in the neighborhood of $1200) This grill is built well, sears steaks like a champ and looks good doing it.
Do note however, that the cover paired with this on Amazon is too small. Get the large instead.
Overall, this is one of the best grills out there. It ignites, heats and cooks better than anything I have owned so far. The downside is what you don't get for the money spent, in terms of its overall construction and fit and finish. At this price point, I would expect halogen lamps in the firebox and a propane cylinder trolley that makes replacing the cylinder less hectic often found on less expensive grills. I would expect higher grade sheet metal for use in the base to eliminate its wobble. It should look and feel like a brick outhouse in my opinion. Finally, I would also expect higher grade burner knobs, more on par with the Webers.
Broil King included a universal rotisserie kit and a lifetime warranty on the burners. That makes up for some of the features this grill lacks in this price range. Plus, it is Made in the USA.
It seems that Broil King focused and excelled at everything "under the hood" in designing this grill, but fell a little short on convenience features. I feel like I bought a Ferrari that has no stereo or power windows. My rating is 5 Stars for everying in the firebox, shelves, and side burner, 3 stars for the base, fit/finish and features. Overall, I give it 4 Stars.
UPDATE: It has been about 15 months since I put this Broil King into action, and I am still so impressed! As mentioned, I grill a LOT. Except for the fact that the inside is filthy, the exterior still looks brand new. No signs of rust, pitting, fading, etc. The ignitor stopped working, but other than that, every part of the grill still operates and feels brand new. It is so well engineered and thought out. One of my buds bought a new Genesis a couple weeks before I got the King, and his cheaper parts are already falling off. Of particular note, the included rotisserie works great, and is so easy to use. I have found that the cook book underestimates cook times, so leave yourself an extra hour or so for larger cuts. There are few things better than a large pork shoulder that has been spinning on my rotisserie for about 4 hours. So after 4 seasons of use, still an awesome grill. I could not be happier!
I researched this a bit and I think it boils down to this -to get a real searing grill you can spend thousands of dollars or you can buy a Broil King. The Broil Kings are not beautifully styled and the build quality is not great, but your first steak on this kind of a grill is a revelation. The grill will get fully hot in about 5-8 minutes -and I mean 850 degrees hot.
The strength of the Broil King design is the venturi tube burners -which give good even (powerful!) flame and the flame broiling system. As the fat drips off your meat, flames will jump and sear that meat, but you never get an out of control inferno. Your meat cooks super fast but as long as you pay attention you can get exactly the degree of crust/browning/blackening that you want.
Our Weber gas grills were convenient, durable and well designed -but could never give results anything like a good hot charcoal fire. The Broil King can.
Pros: Tremendous power, great performance. Especially compared with newer model webers, which have very limiting flow restrictor that limit their power for searing.
Cons: I think this grill is expensive given the mediocre build quality and bland styling. Everything is cheap sheet metal, though the burner controls are nice. Grill grate is cast iron but not the heaviest gauge; ours has warped slightly. Also, the piezo starter button stopped working after a few weeks. My son fixed it by dislodging it from the body of the grill. It hangs down by the wires but it works now when we squeeze it with a sideways angle and it works. But I happily put up with the cons because I am tasting grilled meat that is the equal of the very best steakhouses.

I learned a lesson about spending this kind of money on a sight unseen. I made my decision based upon the available literature and professional ratings. For the price I paid, the fire box and everything in it is easily on par with the finest Webers. However, the sheet metal pieces that are used to construct the base are flimsy and thin much like the structures you built using Erector Set toys as a kid. The base wobbles when the wheels are locked, and it flexes a bit more than it probably should on uneven surfaces, so the doors tend to get misaligned, leading to difficulty in mounting them to the frame upon installation or opening and closing them once assembled. So be sure to assemble and operate this grill on a perfectly level surface. I experienced some of the same issues with attaching the side burner and shelf to the firebox that others had. The holes line up inconsistently and required another person to apply pressure to the shelves as I screwed them to the firebox.Overall, this is one of the best grills out there. I had a Webber Genesis for 10+ years. Great grill, but it did have a few little design flaws. When the time came for a new grill, I was just going to buy another Webber. But then I started researching and shopping (webber, napolean, broil king, etc.). Boy am I happy with this Broil King! It has to be the best made grill in the world. The grilling/heat control is unrivalled. The overall construction of the grill and materials used are excellent. Now it did take me quite a while to put the grill together. Take your time. Materials used are all excellent. Most important for me; the engineering behind the valves, dual burner tubes, the mid layer flavorizer plates, and the cooking surface are excellent. I have used the rotisserie; it is ridiculously easy, and impressed the heck out of my hard core grilling buddies, all of whom have Webbers. I grill 3-4 nights per week, and I know my fire. I am 100% thrilled with this Regal 490 Pro!UPDATE: It has been about 15 months since I put this Broil King into action, and I am still so impressed! As mentioned, I grill a LOT. I was a Weber owner for 15 years but I always wanted a grill with real searing power, which Webers aren't really designed for. (they have a tendency to bake the meat, not sear it) I'm talking about getting to 800 degrees and being able to really flame broil a steak the way a good steakhouse would.I researched this a bit and I think it boils down to this -to get a real searing grill you can spend thousands of dollars or you can buy a Broil King. Amazon did a great job shipping this grill. My beef (pun intended) is with the grill company. This grill gets to over 600 degrees when heating up with cover closed in about 15 minutes for searing steaks, which I like to do, and it cooks OK after that. Haven't used the rotisserie yet, but there's a couple of things that should be mentioned to be aware of. It wasn't covered in the rain the other night and the built-in thermometer in the lid developed moisture inside the glass, maybe the moisture will dry out eventually, and if it's kept covered in the future water won't get in againwe'll see. But the assembly of this grill really pissed me offand it didn't have to be that way if the company really cared. The assembly instructions were just pictoral images which is fine but there was one step that called for 6 screws and the illustration only showed where 4 of them wentmaking you wonder where the other 2 go. I inadvertently found out where they go on my own upon re-assembling the unit because of the more serious fault I will now describe. The holes don't line up well enough to get an acceptable fit when putting the three sides of the cabinet together and attaching the top grill section. I had to ask a friend to help hold and push the pieces together with me so the holes would line up to get the screws in. It took like ten minutes of pushing really hard to finaly get it, it wasn't easy! And the problem after that, the reason why I de-assembled and re-assembled still persisted, which is the left door was crookedthe space between the two doors was not equal. Because the left door was angled counter clockwise the space between the two doors at the top was greater than the space at the bottom. Looks like s--t. Also the tolerance was so tight when putting the two doors on, the stainless steel bottom frame was badly gouged by the bottom door pins. The instructions tell you to insert the upper door pins first into the top part of the frame and then insert the bottom ones, but it can't be done without gouging the hell out of both sides of the bottom frame. I am very capable of following instructions and assembling any grill and no one should have to go through this after spending $800. So yes, I'm annoyed.Reviews of 3" 475F (2-pack) BBQ CHARCOAL GRILL PIT WOOD SMOKER TEMP GAUGE
