I have used a lot of grill skewers and these are great because they are strong and the metal end works well for piercing tough meat and vegetables without being sharp enough to cause the occasional finger cut. However, the only caveat is that you must keep the handles away from the flame and sticking out of the grill by several inches (thereby making the meat closest to the handle usually undercooked). If you don't, the rubber melts (why is there rubber on something meant for the grill?) and the slider will be stuck in place. If this happens (it did with mine) it really doesn't decrease the utility of the item, but you can't use the slider portion anymore. I bought these and will buy again though.

Skewers are well made and long enough to really use on a grill!I'll have years of service in these items.
