Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have used portable electric corrals for camping trips for many years. This review will focus on the differences between a `traditional' portable electric corral with all step-in posts (similar to the Zareba Kwik Korral), and this newer style EZEE corral.
The EZEE electrical system works way better than the `traditional' portable electric corral. The traditional corrals require you to set a ground post. It is often difficult to get good ground contact with the short post for the portable system, particularly in dry/sandy/rocky soils, and I end up with a corral whose charge barely tickles. With the EZEE system, the grounding is contained within the tape that makes up the corral. You get perfect grounding every time. The "zap" is much stronger than what I typically get from the traditional portable charger. The result is a corral that your horse will respect.
The EZEE corral does take a little more time to set up than a `traditional' electric corral. The biggest hassle is the four corner ground posts. To install a single corner post:
1. You secure a black plastic spiked square into the ground. Theoretically these can be stepped in, but I had to use a mallet to get into my fairly soft soil.
2. Then you drive a plastic tent spike down through the black plastic square. This spike is theoretically optional, but my results were not good without it.
3. Now you fit the reel system on to post and secure it.
4. Then fit the hollow post over the black plastic square. (It is VERY difficult to remove the post from the black square if you follow directions. The post has two holes near the bottom and some "buttons" on the black square poke through to secure it. I CANNOT remove the black square from the post, as my hands are far too small to span the post and press in both buttons. My husband also had difficulty with this task. I have found that by positioning the post a quarter turn "off" so that the buttons are not aligned with the holes, it's a far more manageable task and the posts are still secure.)
5. Lastly, set up two guy wires to secure. I was hoping this was optional. It is not.
Once you have all four corner posts, it's super easy to set up the rest of the fence. The tape reels work great, and the electrical connection between each post is strong. The step-in posts in the middle of each side are easy to set. The charger is extremely easy to connect, although installing and removing batteries is more of a chore than it should be. All told, it takes me 25 minutes to set up this fence, and about 15 minutes to take it down. That is compared to 15 minute set up and 20 minute take down on the traditional portable fence.
The finished corral is up to 30 feet square. That's a very generous size for one horse, and reasonable for two horses. I've uploaded a picture of it set up with two horses in `Customer Images'. When I use this with two horses, I will likely bring an extra step-in post so I can make an unelectrified divider down the middle at feeding time.
This corral has only one `rail'. I was concerned about that, but it hasn't been a problem. The rail is a perfect height for my 14 and 15-hand horses, and would also fit larger horses nicely. You could adjust the height lower for smaller ponies and mini's by simply sliding the reels farther down the posts.
This corral comes in a nice carrying bag. It is easy to fit in all the components if you disassemble everything completely. I was hoping to keep the reels installed on the posts to eliminate one step on set up and take down, but it won't fit in the bag if you do this. The entire thing weighs about 20 pounds, slightly heavier and larger than my traditional portable electric corral.
The corral comes with clear instructions. There are also instructions for ordering replacement parts, if necessary. It's nice to know they're available.

I purchased this portable corral so that I could move it around the areas outside of the pasture and have my mare mow. For that it is good. But I would not leave her in there with out keepin' a good eye on her.The item arrived promptly. But my first time setting it up was more that a little frustrating because there were no instructions included. This may have been a fluke but nevertheless it was more that a little annoying. Since then I have become proficient in gettin' it up quickly but you will definitely need a hammer and I advise gettin' better stakes than the ones provided for the corner posts. Luckily I had some. Also the rope provided for the stakes is terrible. Luckily I had that too.
It is nice the way the electric fence generator is all incased in one of the corner posts and it will provide a pretty good zolt. Also, the way the electric fence rolls up into the corner reels is nice too. I will say that the hardward and latches for each corner are a little cheap and I don't expect them to last too long. I don't think I will by another one of these particular corrals.

This is my first purchase of an electric corral so I cannot compare it with other units. I was very excited to receive it because I need to move my pony fast to a new place that had a barn but not a fenced in paddock. Before buying I watched all the videos to familiarize myself with the set up.Upon receiving the unit I was surprised by the lower than expected quality.
**The plastic posts that are in between the corner posts were impossible to join together. Only one of them fit properly.
**One of the reels at the end connection had wires sticking out and I had to unscrew the end and reposition the wired tape before using.
**The videos claim that it comes with batteries and it did not.
**There was not enough string included for attaching the pegs to the corner post. The string was also not cut so it was a hassle in the midst of setting it up to go find a knife of sorts to get that organized. I had to also drive to a hardware store to buy more string since what was there was minimal.
**Another minor issue was that there was no string for hanging the Electric Fence warning signs but I just ducted taped them on the corner posts.
The batteries were a hassle to put in and the contact is not good when I slide the unit in the corner post. I have to keep the unit 2 inches higher in order to get the light at the switch working.
Once those things were worked out, the zapp is sufficient, my pony respects the fence and life is good. I still would not leave her in it unattended though.
The same product with more attention to detail and slightly higher quality material would be ideal. As is, its fine for an emergency but not sure if I had seen it before whether it would be my purchase choice.
Honest reviews on Zareba EZEE Portable Battery Powered Equine 900 Square Foot Fence
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is very easy to put up and works great. No problem for a man to carry, but it is a bit heavy for me. We have a friend that also has one and we were able to combine them both to make a 60x60 fence. It keeps the horses in just fine. These are really great for endurance rides. Another friend uses this same exact portable corral but for his bees instead of for his horses. What he does is he uses it to surround his bee hives with as a protective measure it keeps the bears out of his hives, which had been a problem. So the shock is definitely enough to keep the black bears out too!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Zareba EZEE Portable Battery Powered Equine 900 Square Foot Fence
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This system is an easy to use portable electric fence. It was very easy to set up and take down and took me about 20 minutes to set up.
Very large fencing system so its been perfect to set up while resting or while out.
The price is a great deal considering other comparable systems are about double the price of the Zareba EZEE Portable Fence.
It's a little heavier than I would prefer it to be ( about 20 pounds ) but not bad.
Too bad there isnt a way to convert the power, to be able to keep it up. The batteries are still going strong, but batteries only last so long ( but it probably would make it much heavier to move around )
All fits perfectly in the included bag also!
I will continue to use this, I think this is excellent and just about any adult will have no issues using this, I wouldnt think it would be a good idea to let anyone under 18 use this because its potentially extremely dangerous!
