I have not had this grill that long, so over time, I will add to this review. I purchased this grill from the Amazon "Open Box" warehouse. The regular price was $3500; I paid $1300. It was delivered on a skid and weighs 350 pounds. The directions are very easy to follow and in a couple of hours, my wife and I had it put together. This is a very good grade stainless and quite heavy. It has 7 burners including a back IR burner for a rotisserie. It is set up for natural gas and I recently tapped into my gas line at the furnace for hook up.

I can say that the product pieces fit together easily and securely. It does take two strapping guys to pick up the top and place on the unit to finish up the assembly. The racks weigh in at 25 pounds.

Part of the question in my mind was the customer service of Napoleon. That is not an issue. When the unit arrived, I noted that it had a couple of dented pieces and bent pieces. I got such a deal on it, that I hammered them out and completed the assembly. But I contacted Napoleon just to let them know about the problem you know, in just in case they wanted to help. Within 8 business hours, they had written back and told me that they would simply replace the pieces and shipped them to me immediately. I was shocked. As an open box purchase, they had no obligation to do that. This a company that understands customer service, so do not be afraid of that.

I cooked my first meal on it it wasn't anything special as I was being slightly guarded in my approach. But the grill fired up and was up to 700 degrees in 10-15 minutes. And that was not the Sizzler station (which it does have) because it was raining and I didn't want to test cracking the ceramic burners.

If you are looking for a grill, do not let the fact that you might not know Napoleon stop you from buying their products. It is a beautiful product.

More later......

It's later: 6/26/2013: I've now been using this grill for nearly 3 months. It is better than I originally wrote. The heat from the main grill is blistering but the pride of the system is the Searing (Sizzler) Station. That is now my "go to" part of the grill. I can cook a 1" steak in 5 minutes from the time I turn on the grill to the time that I take it off. I just cooked salmon fillets tonight only 5-6 minutes and I turned down the one burner due to uneven thickness of the two pieces of fish that I was cooking. I've begun to experiment by searing first and then moving to the regular grill for thorough cooking at about 400 degrees. We have now used the back IR burner for rotisserie of a leg of lamb and a chicken. The rotisserie is heavy duty and turns evenly and slowly. The lamb and chicken were terrific. We have even begun to cook our bacon and eggs on the side burner to keep the smell of the bacon out of the house. Even on a windy day, the burner is up to the task. I am completely sold on this unit. I've had all burners going at the same time and this grill just keeps giving.

First, be forewarned that this grill will not arrive fully assembled. It took me about 4-5 hours to complete the assembly. The process is not that hard (despite the fact that the instructions are only drawings with no written description of what you're trying to accomplish in each step). Basically, you just need a rubber mallet, an adjustable crescent wrench, a screw driver, a pair of pliers and a lot of patience. I really liked that the design allows you to decide which side you want to face the grill to very helpful I thought.

Cooking on this grill is a pleasure! Easy to light and responsive to the temp controls. Meats come off the grill, juicy and tender.

If I were to force myself to suggest an improvement, it would only be that Napoleon could have added a shelf in the storage area under the grill. Otherwise I can't think of a thing to improve this grill did I mention that I LOVE THIS GRILL!!??

But there are many substantial problems:

1. Legends around front panel on/off knobs do not last; wash grill a few times and the legends for burner positions and fire levels are gone. Poorly designed labels do not stick to stainless metal panel.

2. Igniters for infrared burners do not perform well, even with fully charged new batteries. Sparks do not reach burner, needing frequent adjustments.

3. Gaps between metal components allow oils and grease to escape and drip from back of grill.

4. Neoprene stops that should keep moving pieces from banging into each other (as in hoods banging on deck) are very poorly designed and fall off too easily (mostly all fall out while cleaning/wiping) grill.

5. Soldering of steel rods of cooking grates is defective. Pieces that should be welded are not, or not for long.

I am a very experienced griller, and in my opinion this product is overprized and not well made. So, when new it looks good from afar...but!
