This is a great grill as we live on the coast and do get a marine layer. The ad said it ran on all three types of gas propane , liquid propane and Natural gas. But never said you have to order optional adapter for the natural gas. 42.00 and shipping. I had a propane cylinder in the garage and thought what the heck while I wait will try the propane. Cooked some high end fillets and cooked them really good. You do have to watch the heat as the directions stated it will damage the stainless steel and not be anti corrosive any longer if it gets too high(has a high-q gauge). So I did and all is well. The mesh grill has to come out for chicken which is next on the list. With the heat at its lowest it started climbing but you just open the lid and no problem.
When the Natural gas adapter arrives will see if cooking is any different. But so far would say it is a great grill. Easy to clean. Barbecue grill reviews stated that any grill at a few hundred dollars won't last over a few years(2-4) and I have had this happen too much. So this looks real good because it is made so much better than the steel rust buckets you see for 200-400 dollars. Even when they say stainless steel only a small portion is!

Its a great grill. We put it on the back of our boat and have used it several times. The only thing is the piece that you have to turn to turn on the propane will break easily if turned too far so don't do that. Mounted the Monterey (non-infrared) on the optional aluminum pole pedestal on my back wooden deck, which faces the ocean and is constantly subjected to salt spray, wind, sun, and harsh weather. The grill is powerful, and cooks everything I tried (chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs) just as expected--or better. It heats up quick, and does a fantastic job. Also, I LOVE the design, which is contemporary, like my house. After six months, it still looks brand new. To rinse, I spray it often w/ just some Simple Green and water. I still use the small gas canisters, but will soon add the larger LP traditional grill tank (stainless). I strongly recommend it.
