I bought this item to use for my homemade smoker. I really wasn't sure what I was getting but it's perfect. It is fairly heavy and solid, not flimsy so I know it will last. I used it with the old smokey electric smoker element so it fit just fine. Only thing I noticed is that the little 'cups' you see stamp into the metal are not that deep at all. I pretty much just scattered the wood chips around the whole plate. Overall, a great quality item.
