I have the light installed on the handle of a Primo XL Oval Ceramic grill. This product provides an ample amount of light for this grill.

C-clamp could be a bit more stiff. If the manufacturer would have molded in some small gussets inside the corners, I think it would improve the strength. It spreads open when clamped and if overtightened, it may actually break. Fortunately it clamps with enough power to hold it in place without too much stress on the "C".

The only problem that I could foresee if is the lid was left open with a really hot fire, it could damage the light because the light is just about centered over the fire when the grill is opened. Of course since we don't cook with the lid open in the ceramic world, I think it will be OK. It is worth mentioning that the instructions DO say not to install directly above fire. But to me, since it is designed to be installed on a grill handle, I don't see how that can be avoided on most any grill which it would be installed.

The instructions do say that extreme weather conditions may damage the unit and they recommend storing inside when not in use. Even so, I would like to see a gasket on the battery cover as it is not uncommon for me to cook while it is raining. I don't know if water will get in, but just to be safe, I think I will put some silicone on it just to be safe. I don't know if the switch is sealed though.

I just recieved this item for Christmas and was really excited.

I have tried other products endoresed by Steven Raichlen and have been impressed.

The battery cover is material is too thin to keep the batteries in contact, because it bows out

It only works if I press on the the center of the battery cover.

I found that if I put some foil between two of the batteries I could get it to work.

This product has 3 powerful lights and is great at illuminating the grill surface but unfortunately the c-clamp is too weak to keep it clamped on our grill handle. Think because the plastic material flexes. Maybe if it had metal clamps it would be stronger.

I thought this would be so great... i was wrong. Positioning it on the handle puts it directly over the flames when you are using it... something they tell you NOT to do in the instructions. The tightening mechanism is not well made and does not work well at all. The product itself is poorly made and mine quit working completely after only a few uses. (I ended up buying a much less expensive bbq light from Home Depot that has magnets to sit on the the side table area and has a gooseneck to position the light on your cooking surface a much better design option.) I threw this one away.

I was excited about this grill light when it came, I thought it would be a good product for the price. It survived the winter and a spring. Yes it was outside the entire time(covered by a grill cover when not in use), but still, 5 months and I cant return it?

FAIL OF A PRODUCT, go with something else, I cant say what, but anything else with positive reviews.
