I think its a very nice grill (nicest grill I have ever owned). Weber makes no secret that they manufacture this product as the box, manual, and various parts say "Weber." Which from a business perspective, makes you wonder why they even bother with the Ducane Grill at this point. Regardless, it works to our benefit:

1) Its very nice product, stainless steel grates, solid construction

2) After comparing my assembled Ducane 4100 to the Weber Spirit and Weber Genesis @ Home Depot it appears the Ducane 4100 to be a better\nice4 than the Weber Spirit series but not as nice as the Weber Genesis series (obviously).

3) So, all in all, feel that the Ducane 4100 is a decent machine and value. If you want to go for the best grill bling go for the Genesis it comes in colors and the Genesis lid must weigh 20 pounds for that solid feeling. Genesis comes with a better warranty.

To recap, the 4100 is very nice, solid, and is nicest grill I've had yet. Not quite a Genesis, but at the lower price point that's to be expected.

You can't go wrong with this grill.

I purchased this for my husband for Father's Day. We do a lot of BBQing year round. We originally were going to purchase it from Lowes, but it was backordered. We chose this one because we wanted a good quality grill with good cooking space & would last for many years:

1: It's a Ducane which is part of the Weber family now, so the quality is high, but less expensive than a Weber.

2: Knobs placed below grill rather than on the side.

3: Small 2nd rack shelf inside grill.

4: Good size grill, counter & storage space & a lighter mechanism.

5: Gas container fits easily inside storage with room to spare.

6: Outside temperature gauge.

7: Simple oil catch pan area.

The delivery was flawless and the guys even brought it to our backyard after I asked them. Assembly took a few hours, but father & son enjoyed the experience. We also purchased a cover to keep it protected. I clean the stainless steel with a Norwex cloth & cleaning paste (which protects it too)& clean the grill with the Norwex grill cleaner spray & steel scrubber (Sorry, not trying to sell Norwex products, I just use them & they work).

Note: Definitely read the lighting instructions ahead of time. I've lighted different grills for years, but there is a certain sequence for this grill and I nearly burned my hand by not reading the instructions first. It's easy to light once you've read it.

I've had this grill for about five months now. I use it at least once a week. The grill works well overall. I would recommend this grill for the price point. The downsides that I've noticed is that there is usually one or two burners that do not fire up when I go to light it. For some reason it will take a few minutes and then I have to go back and then try again repeatedly to fire it. The other thing is that the sides get pretty hot. The heat dissapates to the sides so it's good if you have a plate or something that can withstand the heat because it can act as a mild warmer but if you are putting a bag of buns on there it may melt.

Other than that the grill does the job well.

Honest reviews on Ducane 31411001 Affinity 4100 4-Burner Propane Gas Grill

My wife and I put this grill on our wedding registry after I did extensive research on a variety of grills that met a reasonable price point. I knew that Ducane was made by Weber, and let's not kid ourselves; Weber is the best in grills. Ducane offers a quality alternative to the more expensive Weber models at a reasonable price.

The grill arrived well packaged in the box; there was a small dent in the bottom panel of the grill but hardly noticeable so I let it slide. Assembly took roughly 1/1/2 hours and was very straightforward. I had used grills with electric starters several times before and knew how fickle they can be, so I expected starting the new Ducane to be a similar experience. To the contrary I turned on the gas and hit the starter, and the Ducane fired right up without a hitch. All 4 burners lit right away and burned evenly and smoothly. I was very pleased!

We have grilled probably 3-4 times a week now, and the grill is working great. I use it for steaks, burgers, salmon, etc. and the grill cooks them all perfectly. I will say that with the 4 burners on high this baby really packs a heat punch, so be careful to cook chicken and other slower-cooking foods on med or lower or you'll nuke them. All in all this is a fantastic grill for the price; it looks fantastic, works great, and is solidly made. I read reviews before putting this on our registry and the guy talking about the wheels unnerved me a bit but I really don't know what he's talking about. The wheels are industrial grade. I've rolled it all over a bumpy deck/patio etc and the wheels hold up fine.

I definitely recommend this grill is you're looking for a less expensive alternative to the top of the line Weber without sacrificing quality. If you can afford a $700 Weber go for it, but if not this grill is the one for you. I purchased the Ducane cover for it as well, and it fits like a glove and keeps my grill protected. I recommend getting one of those too.

After doing much research, I chose the Ducane 4100. It took me more time to open the box and assemble the parts then it took to actually assemble the grill. The folks at Ducane/Weber package this grill so that it can be dropped into a war zone. The instructions were clear and concise, the hardware was indiv. shrink wrapped to make assembly a no brainer. I orig. had a Weber Genesis that was still working, however it was rusting to the point of falling apart. I chose this Ducane because of the reviews, and the fact that it's a Weber.
