Pros:

1) It holds the hot dogs very well.

2) It cleans up very well.

Cons:

1) Handle is a bit too short for larger fires. Hand gets burned without mitts.

2) The engineers should consider a "T" design to allow the dogs to get even heat. Right now the two front dogs cook much faster than the back two dogs.

Good roaster. It does exactly what it is advertised to do. I use it to cook brats and larger sausage like polish over a campfire and it works out well. If it was Made in USA I would give it five stars, but since it is an import item, I must bust it down a notch.

The first time we used this product over the campfire, all four hot dogs slid right out the side when we turned it over. The two sections would not clamp down tightly enough to keep the hot dogs securely in place. Considering we only brought an 8 pack of hot dogs for our group of 5, we were less than thrilled. It's not a complicated product, so I really don't think it was operator error. It might be okay with big brats or really fat hot dogs, but the Oscar Meyer bun length hot dogs we tried wound up as firewood. Very disappointed and very displeased.

Great idea but you need to just use it for specific things. Normal sized hot dogs slide out and into the fire when you're turning the hot dogs. Using jumbo sized hot dogs or brats work very well. We tried toasting bagels last weekend and it worked perfect!
