You can't beat the quality or the price of this outfit. The cooker is easy to assemble and the pan, basket, and accessories are all of good quality. If you are looking for a good frier for seafood boils this pan will comfortably feed up to 10 people per batch! Only one complaint, the paint burns off around the flame. No big deal, just wish the manufacturer would have paid attention to that little detail.

This outfit heats up quickly, holds 350 degree boiling heat after switching off every 15 minutes. Each large basket will allow 10-15 pieces to cook. Now with three cookers we can serve more people hot fish which is much more enjoyable than luke warm or air temperature fish. We fryed (3) turkeys as a trial test to determine if the cookers were keepers or not. THEY ARE KEEPERS !!!!! I love how fast, even, and safe they cook for our purpose and just using it once will convience the user that this was an execellent choice.

I had one of these systems shipped overnight to prepare a Mother's day seafood boil. The pot is incredibly thin and was dented in shipment. I do understand the need to conduct the heat efficiently so the dent in the thin pot was not a big deal. I assembled per the manufacturer's instructions and decided to do a test fire before we departed for the cookout. The timer, safety shutoff valve is defective on my unit. The unit will only stay on as long as you keep your hand on the starter button and keep pressure on the red switch. I tried to call the vendor, but they are closed on weekends. The outfit is made in China, but since it is distributed by a US vendor some sort of weekend tech support would be nice. The defect in the timer may be some sort of batch defect and I would steer clear of this cooker until the vendor acknowledges the product will work as described. With the overnight shipping I paid $154 for a large thin pot with a big dent in the side, and a burner that won't work.

Used this for brewing a 5gal batch of homebrew and was impressed with the ability to control the burner from a low flame to a jet. We had no problem bringing the wort to a boil and then simmer during the process. The timer, (15 minutes and then the gas cuts) is slightly annoying but doesn't particularly cause issues if you're attending to the batch. I'm pretty sure the safety could be circumvented by simply wrapping a rubber band around the red timer button.

Only downside in this kit is the aluminum pot. Mine was in MINT condition, but still came out with some dents after a single boil from our stainless wort stirrer. Aluminum pot also requires pre-boiling a full 6 gallons to for a nice dark oxide layer. Tough to sanitize because the aluminum is reactive to both the cheaper one-step (oxy based cleaner) and the Star San (acid based cleaner). I wouldn't recommend this pot for serious brewing.

I ordered this for a Labor Day shrimp boil. It came the very next day via Amazon Prime. The pot and basket are made of a thin aluminum which I can see denting fairly easily. I don't think it's an issue as everything seems sturdy, but if you bang it the metal will dent. The burner worked great and put off enough heat to boil our giant pot of water.

It has an annoying safety feature that requires you to push a button every 15 minutes or it will shut the gas off. This might be required by some sort of safety regulations ... perhaps they all have it. It's not too burdensome, as you merely need to push a button at any point before it shuts off gas to reset the clock back to 15 minutes. There is a very specific order you must follow to star the flame. If not done in the correct sequence you won't be able to keep the flame running. There are clear instructions on how to do this. Naturally I ignored them until I failed to keep it running. I'd suggest you read the instructions first.

All in all it's a good quality product at a great price. When you compare it to the other models made with stainless steel you can see the bargain it is. Unless you're using it every week I think the aluminum pot will hold up fine and the stainless steel likely isn't worth the up-charge.
